Venerable Ashin Ottamathara was born on 26 October 1969 in Katha (Upper Burma), completed his study in yangon University than ran his own business successfully for 7 years. At the time he started to face difficulties in his business he was invited to join a meditation retreat and he discovered many answers to his questions. He decided to dedicate more of his time to practice of meditation and finally abandoned all his possessions and activities and ordained as theravada Buddhist monk in 2002 in yangon. From that time onward he dedicated his life to teach meditation and do limitless good deeds. He established meditation centers, one after another, in Myanmar first than years later abroad as well (Malaysia, USA, Italy, Vietnam, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore). He also developed and established schools, orphanages, villages for people in need, Dhamma Hospital. And continue to find solutions for all needs of society. In each of his center people can stay for a lifetime or just for a short time, receiving a free shelter, free food, education and the great chance to protect, share and care to each others. Abandoning his own life to be free to do limitless good deeds he lead people to become better persons and to practice Mindfulness with detachment.
