Growing Up on an eclectic diet of Music early 90's Jonjay is hard to pin down musically. It was only few years later that Jonjay discovered late night electronic music and the infamous rhythms of Underground. Promptly purchased his first decks and began performing at private house parties, abandoned warehouses and later at the most renowned clubs in his hometown Beirut Lebanon. From early beginnings in Beirut’s emerging electronic music scene in the late 90s Johny Asmar AKA Jonjay has been all over the place from organizing and playing gigs. Jonjay has been a regular fixture in Beirut’s nightlife for over 20 years with gigs at the Legendary B018, The basement as well as opening or closing slots for Acid Pauli ,Raxon , Sebo & Madmotormiquel , Nicole Moudaber , Steve Mulder to name a few. Jonjay has gathered an enthusiastic audience response and critical praise for his out of the box styled Minimal/Progressive House for memorable sets that some called “should listen to before you die “ and was described in many ways, but aggressive innovative and cutting edge are the 3 best to describe his style. Classically trained in Piano Jonjay brings his appreciation and deep understanding of music to bear in the energetic late night sets that he has built his excellent reputation upon. He took a mission to explore new sounds and allowed him to push beyond the limits of just being a Dj and into the studio to expand his musical reach. Spending few years recently in the Danish Capital Copenhagen he managed to explore a new audience and a diversified new approach . Jonjay has played in most of Beirut major clubs such as Astro, Hush , Red , The Gallery , La Centrale , Cactus, Square bar ,The Basement, B018 and many gigs and private parties as well as Denmark infamous Culture Box and platform 4. Jonjay has collaborated with Lebanon's top djs and producers all for the love of electronic music .
