Racism is such a serious and sensitive topic to discuss. And, the topic alone is so vast that even the small stories make for a long discussion. My point is that racism is sadly something that is experienced far too often and almost always it is experienced by people of color.

I am not black; I am a white female and can never possibly come close to fully understanding what it is like to be a person of color in any country but, I am conscious and aware of what goes on and what minorities go through. I especially have had an "awareness" of the injustices and hatred that black people in America endure in this supposed "diverse" country. To be honest, Hispanics are treated better than the African Americans that were BROUGHT HERE by whites! This is just the way it has always been and unfortunately, there seems to be no improvement or resolution in sight.

In 2018 alone, there have been several historical events of racism towards black people in America. If you recall the Starbucks incident where two black men had the police called on them for no reason and the eight year old girl who a white woman called the police on for selling bottles of water. Recently, a biracial teenage boy who was riding in the car with his white grandmother was detained by police and placed in the back of the cop car while authorities verified with the grandmother that she was not being kidnapped by her grandson. These events are just a few of many situations where white people have called police on African Americans for nonsense. And it is causing so much fear and trauma to the community.

In this episode, I discuss something that has always been happening but that has just recently became so common that it was given the name "Living While Black" because African Americans have been getting pulled over, detained and even arrested while simply living their normal, everyday lives. There should be no reason for this at all and I wish that one day the world could not see skin color. But, we are humans and despite all of the good we do, we are still the horrible species that we are.

In this light episode, I completely waste your time by telling you a little bit about the Prince William's wife, Kate Middleton.

No, I am not a fan of her. I am not against her either. I really don't care. But, I thought it would be fun to remind you that we are so average and poor compared to royalty.

Just have fun with it!

In October 2018, a twin boy and girl were found severely beaten. So badly that the girl was already dead and the boy was clinging to life.

This happened in a basement apartment in a Queens NY home that held a single mom of five small children and no father in sight.

This story is a sad as it is mysterious.

This episode is mostly for the parents and caregivers out there. We all take our kids outside to the yard, to the park or some other facility in order for them to excrete enough energy for us, as the adults, to be able to relax later while they sleep or sit still.

Have you ever looked around at these places and noticed what the adults are doing while the children are running wild? Almost all of the adults are sitting on the bench talking to each other or on their phones.

Why waste this time? Why not be active and play with the kids or exercise alone while watching them? This would benefit you in so many ways!

Just like many of you, I have been on a ton of various diets over the last 10+ years. Some crazier than the last and others were pretty good diets but, unsustainable as lifestyles.

This episode includes a breakdown of each diet that I have tried with the pros and the cons of each. I do this in hopes that you will not ever have to waste your time and money on fad diets again.

The episode also has a full blog post on my website at https://thelifestylefanatic.com/2018/08/29/the-diet-dabbler/

What diets have you tried and failed?

What worked for you long term?

I would love to hear about it!

Pretty much everyone now either has or is using someone else’s Netflix® membership. It is the best way to watch shows and movies anytime and anywhere. I have had the streaming service from back when it was mostly DVDs that were worth renting. This is back when there were still Blockbuster® stores. Before streaming movies and shows was became the best thing since sliced bread.

Personally, the only time I have to watch anything is on my long commute to and from work via the subways. Since those are underground, I am limited to what is available on my phone. Luckily, Netflix® allows you to download to your device, making it easy to pass the time of that two plus hours spent commuting per day. That is easily enough time to watch a full movie or an episode or two of your favorite series.

So, here is a list of my favorite recent Netflix® television shows. Since I did not want to cram too much information into one post, in the next post I will give you my favorite movies to watch on the app.

I have dabbled in both intermittent fasting and the ketogenic diet over the years but, never before had I considered doing both together. That is until I listened to the great Dr. Eric Berg who recommends doing both for optimal results. I have an intolerance to dairy and starches as well as difficulty controlling my hunger. This LIFESTYLE has made it easy for me to eat within my dietary limits and to control my hunger based upon the time that I am alotted to eat.

This post is meant to open the eyes of anyone even slightly curious about intermittent fasting and/or keto. And remember, you should never go on a diet. Make it a lifestyle! This will ensure continued positive changes in your appearance as well as your health.

This week's episode is not really about the guy who always talks about last night's game or who wears the Yankees or Steelers logo on everything.

This episode is about an article I read that was more buttered up than Paula Deen's biscuits and of sports rioters who were referred to as celebrators.

This article has racial bias all over it and it made me think of how little these "celebrations" are addressed.

Today I am talking about the weather.

We all complain about the heat, the cold, the humidity, the wind, etc. No matter how miserable we were in the last season, we still find a way to hate the season we are in.

My current nemesis is the humidity. What is yours?

Episode 2: Just Another Day In The City July 21, 2018 I live in New York city and have to deal with a lot of B.S. on a daily basis. All commuting New Yorkers do. But, there was a day this past week that I was mentally and emotionally defeated by thepeople, the weather, the commute.....

I could go on and on about how bad my day was and know in my mind you are thinking, "oh my God, we all have bad days". Yes, we do. Yes, I want to complain about mine.

But, this episode is not just a way for me to vent about a bad day. It is meant to give some relatable insight into a working woman's day in a big city
