Growing up in the bike racing game I never had access to a coach or mentor.
Lack of financial resources should not prevent any bike racer from having access to athlete career development educational materials.
I'm giving back to the sport of bmx everything I learned and then some. See you inside,

This is the abbreviated about page.
When I was young I dreamt of being a professional athlete.
Without a coach I use Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali as my inspiration to use the fitness training resources at school.
Transitioning from amateur BMX racer to professional I can say without a doubt that I exceeded my wildest expectations:
Factory sponsored by the best companies.
Signature model frame.
Travel the world.
Multi World and National ranking.
* Inducted into the USA BMX Hall of Fame in 1996.
I exceeded my well just dreams without a coach or mentor.
After retiring I moved into the bicycle industry into product development and marketing.
It wasn't until decades after my athletic career was over that I gained the clarity about what avworld class contender looks like compared to someone who thinks they want success but in reality are not willing to actually do the work required. There is a stark contrast between a fake and a real contender. Looking back, I wished I had access to a person like me who had the vast experience and knowledge to draw from.
Essentially it's my desire to give back BMX community what I've learned about failure and success over the years.
I realize that not all families and racers have the financial resources to hire the services of a coach and mentor. That being said, I will be producing and Publishing my lectures and lessons on the website blog in both audio podcast in written form. All of my teaching will be free of charge.
After I've concluded all of my teaching I will bring in other BMX and cycling Legends, these cycling rates will provide you some valuable and insightful insights exactly what it takes to be successful in the highest level in professional cycling.

OG racer, Hall of Famer and long time friend, Byron Friday gives us a little insight on his early days in BMX during the 70’s and 80’s with some of the teams and companies he rode and worked for during the development years of the sport.
We then move into the 90’s and his time with both Mongoose and Trek during the “healthy years” when BMX racing had big budgets.
