The AYF Podcast is brought to you by Arran Youth Foundations. Graeme - the charity's Youth Work Project Manager - and the rest of the team get together with AYF alumni to share some memories, lots of laughs and open up on the sort of life-changing help that the Isle of Arran based group has given them over the years.
In Episode 5, we remember the laughs we had doing movie marathons - 24-hour lock-ins watching films and raising money, all without sleep. G remembers the time he took revenge on Hollie too far (involving butter and Doritos). Ellie tells us about the black eye prank she once played on the youth workers. In 2020, Leigh and Abbie joined the staff team, and we use that as a reason to look 10 years in to the future. Reece describes AYF as "a wee family unit", and in summing up, the guys say what difference AYF has made to them.
In Episode 4, the squad look back on 2015, when Hollie joined AYF. They talk about how much it helped them to have a caring local girl working with them. A few of the guys also open up on just how much AYF has meant to them over the years... It gets a bit emotional! On a lighter note, discover the rules of Stupid FIFA, and find out why Abbie holds a six-year-old grudge against Graeme.
In Episode 3, there are stories about the guys writing off the buggies at the Three Towns Motor Project, Graeme arguing with an old woman (totally justified), games of late-night hidey in the scout hall, and Reece's anecdote that's too filthy to repeat on-air!
In Episode 2, the squad talk about what came after Friday nights - Dynamic Youth awards, IT club, film-making. The guys look back and realise AYF is to blame for their love of snacking and Chinese takeaway!
In Episode 1 of The AYF Podcast, G and the squad look back at the very early days... 2010 and the wee green cabin! Water fights, Graeme doing some dodgy Zumba, the local minister encouraging very rough games of football. Great times!
