2nd longest running PPV from WWE is Survivor Series. One of the premier annual shows marked on the WWE calendar makes its return this weekend as the 2020 Survivor Series event takes center stage. This year, the Survivor Series event will return to the Raw vs. SmackDown format as the battle for main-roster brand supremacy rages on and 30 years of the Undertaker.
Drew McIntyre's 200+ day reign as WWE Champion was brought to an unceremonious end back at Hell in a Cell when he dropped the title to Randy Orton. Fans were perplexed by the decision at the time, given that McIntyre had already beaten Orton in back-to-back pay-per-view defenses and "The Viper" had lost most of the momentum he'd build up from his feud with Edge earlier in the three via losses at SummerSlam, Payback at Clash of Champions. McIntyre then won back the title on this week's Raw, ending Orton's 14th reign as world champion at 22 days with zero successful defenses.
WWE that SmackDown Superstar Zelina Vega has been released from her contract. PWInsider reports that Vega's release was fallout from the recent edict that prevents talents from continuing activity on third party platforms such as Twitch, in favor of the company spearheading those relationships and fielding talents as a part of their contractual duties.
Vega was informed of her departure late this afternoon. She will be under the traditional 90-day non-compete clause, which would keep her from appearing on TV for any other promotion through mid-February 2021.
Vega's departure was not a result of her tweet in support of unionization as word of the departure was going around internally well before she made the tweet. Sources noted that Vega had been extremely vocal about maintaining her Twitch account after the edict was handed down last month. There are some people in WWE who are wondering if Vega was released to "send a message" to others in the company, to make sure they follow the third party platform edict. Vega announced on Instagram earlier tonight that she is returning to the Twitch platform.

Clash of Champions is an upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view and WWE Network event produced by WWE for their #Raw and #SmackDown brand divisions. It is scheduled to take place on September 27, 2020 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. It will be the fourth event in the Clash of Champions chronology and will feature WWE's virtual fan viewing experience called ThunderDome. As per the theme of the event, all championships across the Raw and SmackDown brands will be defended.
