Most Sundays messages are around 25-30 min in length. There are hours of research that goes into the messages and a lot of content is left out to meet the time constraint. This podcast is a conversation between Sean Rice and the Pastor of Hope Covenant Church Johnny Aho. We dig deeper into the message that was delivered on the Sunday before so you will hear references to the message.

You can never go wrong with the classics, and this is why John and Sean are doing a short series called Mix Tape Vol 2. We are going to take a good look at the first eight Psalms. Too many times in life we look at things as have to's, when it comes spending time with family or serving God. Instead we should be looking at them as get to's because of the blessing we have received from God. Paul urges him to forgive Onesimus, not because he is a man of God and that is the right thing to do, but because he should want to because he is a man of God.
What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? We have been discussing some of the bibles lesser known Leading Ladies and Faithful Fathers, and in this episode we find ourselves talking about a woman that is only mentioned once in the bible but has a living legacy that is still be talked about today. Join John and Sean as they talk about Tabitha, a woman who cared for the those in need.
Before he became King, his mother gave him basic instructions on how to handle himself as a King. Sean and Johnny looks into this relationship found in the 31st Proverb. Maybe we need to take a look at this advice and put it into practice on how men should be more of a Godly man and not a worldly one.
Paul tells us that Rufus' Mom was like a mom to him too in Romans 16:13. Sean and Johnny talks about how the church needs to act like a family and stop feeling like a building. We need more Faith Fathers and Faith Mothers in our church and we need more Brothers and Sister in Faith. Instead of inviting someone to your church why don't you invite them to meet you family on Sunday morning?
We are where we are, not by some random chance, because God has placed us there at that time for a reason. The question is, are you in tune with the Holy Spirit to see God? In Psalm 51, King David almost writes the perfect country song, the only thing missing is the pick-up truck. Johnny and Sean kicks of a new series called "Minor League" majoring on the minor prophets. In this episode we will discuss the Prophet Hosea, a man who was to marry and love a woman that would betray him more than once. A prophet that would point out to a Nation that was worshiping other gods, in another word, NOT staying faithful to God the Father. Today we tend to worship other things like money, houses, TV's, flesh, things that interferes with our love with God.

Today there is nothing anyone can do to stop the advancement of God's Kingdom, From the beginning, Genesis Chapter 3, to the end, Revelation Chapter 12, we are told about the birth and death of Christ. More importantly we are told about the VICTORY that is already won. So yes my friends THIS IS BIG!

Not by preaching to thousands at a time but to just a few people, and times to just one person, that may have been chained to him. Thirty or forty years after Jesus's death, The Good News was in the household of Caesars. However, Paul was not done.

but knew that what Jesus was calling him to was to live for Him. What

Johnny and Sean close out the first letter of John in this series "Th disciple that Jesus Loved." They begin with the last verse in chapter 5 "Dear Children, keep away form anything that might take God's place in your heart's." Throughout this first letter John has told us how much God loves us, he has warned us about false prophets, how we are to love others the way God loves us and how with Jesus in us we have eternal life. John now closes this letter by letting us know we can have all of this, as long as we keep God as the ruler, the one sitting on the throne, of our heart.

In 1 John chapter 5 verse 11 it is written "He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son." This Sunday message is focused on the Triune testimony of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. John's desire for us, his dear children, is to not to sin, he also informs us that when we sin, we have an advocate to plead our case and that advocate is Jesus Christ.
As the "Disciple that Jesus loves" John writes a sires of letters that were meant for everyone. Johnny and Sean takes a look at the first chapter of 1 John. The sacrifice the Father made for our sins allows us to walk in the light with Jesus. When we, not if we, when we make our mistakes, we are forgiven. However, we are not to live in the mistakes we make.

Johnny stresses that the basic foundation of our plan needs to start with building our relationship with God. The only way we can truly get to know who God is, is by being in HIS WORD.

I would like to tell you that following Jesus is a gentle walk in the park but I cannot. I would like to tell you that you will always notice when your faith will be questioned and put to a test but I cannot. Peters has given his heart to Jesus and tells Jesus in Matthew 26 v 35 "EVEN IF I have to die with you, I will never deny you!" We know how that went. Sean and Johnny continue the conversation from the Sunday Message based on the book Daniel Ch 3 v 18 were we have an example of three men who's relationship with God is so strong that "EVEN IF" he doesn't, they want to make it clear that they will never serve any other God or worship the gold statue that the King has set up.

In chapter 3 we read about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego as they are about to put into a blazing furnace for NOT worshipping a gold statue that Nebuchadnezzar had demanded. At times it may feel like our faith is questioned on a daily basis and at it may be just as easy to take a break from it all and give in, however these three men say in verse 18 "But EVEN IF he doesn't, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods..."
As a follower of Christ, we do what we do, not because someone wrote something, we do what we do because someone did something. Do you live in Jesus? Do you believe in Jesus? Johnny and Sean concludes their look at the seven times Jesus says "I AM" by looking at John chapter 11 verse 24, "I AM the RESURRECTION and the LIFE"
On this Easter Sunday Morning, Pastor Johnny concludes the series "I AM", a look into the Gospel of John where Jesus makes seven statements that begin with I am. Chapter 11 verse 25 Jesus says "I am the Resurrection and the Life." Jesus conquered death with His own death because of the Resurrection. He lives today because His spirit lives in those that believe in Him.

Why do we do what we do? In this episode of the "I AM" series. Sean and Johnny talks about John 15-5 when Jesus says "I AM the vine." We have been grafted into God's family and with that comes the ability to produce great fruit, to do what we do. To abide in Him is to know Him.
Pastor Johnny continues in the Gospel of John with the series called "I AM." In this Sunday message, Pastor Johnny looked at 'I AM the VINE; you are the branches. from John 15:5. With this I AM statement, Jesus not only revealed something about himself. He revealed a truth about us. If we become vitally connected to Jesus, we will be fruitful. Apart from him we can do nothing. Just as branches receive energizing nutrients from the vine in order to produce fruit, we receive all we need to be fruitful.
In the Gospel of John, Jesus makes seven statements that start with "I AM." In this episode, Johnny and Sean look at John 14 v 6, "I AM the WAY, the Truth and the LIFE." The truth of Jesus reveals the truth that we see when we look into the mirror. The more we develop our relationship with Jesus the more we will understand that the Truth of Jesus is the Way and the Truth of Jesus gives us life and the truth of Jesus is HOPE.

In 2 Peter chapter 2, Peter warns the readers of his time that false teachers will be coming. Johnny and Sean breaks down this chapter and talks about how we can look out for ourselves and for each others for these false teachings today.
Have you noticed that when something is very important Jesus tells us not once, not twice but usually three times so we can understand the importance. Pastor Johnny takes us into 2 Peter chapter 2 and shows a very interesting comparison to the book of Jude. Peter warns us of upcoming false teachers in his time and for today while Jude tells us about the false teachings that are happening at that time. This message will focus on Jesus preaching to the prisoned spirits, that Peter writes in 1 Peter chapter 3 beginning with the tenth verse. No matter what you believe abut this, scripture tells us: God is holy. If any of His creation turns on Him there is a judgement awaiting them and Jesus proclaimed his victory over death to the imprisoned spirits.

Johnny and Sean are back in the home studio and talking about Paul coming to the defense of the Gentiles. Even the early church, which was primarily made up of Jewish people, was trying to put the same rules they failed to follow onto the yoke of the Gentiles.
