This week on Straight Out of Afrika, talks to Tutu Maina, whose social media posts on body image and the need for a conversation around it, and the practical steps we can take towards preserving a positive self image helped unpack how social media, family and friends can all play a role in how we think and feel about our bodies.
Coming on the backdrop of the International Men's Day, the conversation was a must-have seeing the impact that body image has on men's mental health and well-being. Tutu addresses his own vulnerability and shows how his influence as a celebrated motor cross champion in Kenya has enabled him address and mentor other men and younger boys who are coming into the age of self-consciousness.
