I am an average Joe who loves to do Functional Fitness, loves fitness as a sport. I started my journey at over 500 lbs have lost over 200 lbs and struggle with weight everyday. This is my journey of healthy living and exercising in a larger body. Scott and Jamie break down today's action on the Masters division. A few races are extremely tight a couple others are already runaways, but you probably don't know that with the type of coverage you were given to watch the age group and adaptive athletes today at the CrossFit Games. Scott argues it would have been better to not show anything than become the joke of the internet with that coverage.

Hannah came into semifinals as a backfill from the 62nd position. She starts the weekend with an amazing performance and didn't let up. After slipping a bit on Sunday she got the taste of what is possible and we found out what she is going to do to make this a consistent performance. Hannah studies body movement and got her graduate degree in BioMechanics with her thesis studying the movement quality of Isabell. She then worked with NBA Talents trying to get drafted as an internship and expanded into post physical therapy development, then one day she realized she was not cut out for the 8-5 office gig, picked up and moved to Austin, Texas, where she dove into CrossFit head first and is now never looking back.

Lauren accomplished many amazing feats in the CrossFit world, but that all pales in comparison to what she accomplished in life. We tell her story here on the Clydesdale Media Podcast. Lauren met Bella when Bella was 9 months old and Lauren was 19, Bella's Dad was in the Military and going overseas, so Lauren married her dad, became Bella's Legal guardian and began the adoption process at age 20. Eventually Kyle and his wife caught the bug and took over an affiliate in North Carolina. During the initial years of competing he kept hearing about this guy named Max. Who turned out to be Max El Hag and Kyle hired him as a coach, as Max's demand picked up he hired Kyle to be one of his coaches. Eventually that led to Kyle moving to Georgia to be at Max's gym, and the rest is history. Kyle will be competing in a stacked 35-39 year old division at the Master's Fitness Collective coming up in October.

25 Year old Gabi is no stranger to high level competition. She's competed at Strength in Depth (2020, the Norwegian CrossFit Championship (2020) and most recently at MACC in 2021. She credits her mom for introducing her to the sport over 9 years ago after a HS field hockey career and her Dad for passing along his great mental game onto her. She's ready to show her grit in Montreal. We will be watching.
Here's another teenager to be looking out for. Hanna at just 19 is looking to go back to the CrossFit Games, this time in the open division. She found CrossFit at a young age after competing in all-star cheerleading for 7 years. Having competed as a teenager in 2018 and 2019, at the CrossFit Games, she's ready to show why she belongs. Hanna's been working with Coach Michael Fitzgerald and ready to take on Atlas Games.
Elena has the biggest smile and that is what she wants to be known for. She has made tremendous strides over that past year after her 21st place finish at West Coast Classic last year with hopes of improving on that this year. She now trains with two training partners who will also be competing at the Atlas Games.
Alexys is way more than a CrossFitter, she is an advocate for many charities and groups that are fighting for equality and acceptance. This has become bigger than what she does for a sport. She is a Dog mom that has two Golden Doodles who travel with her between California and Canada. This weekend she will be competing with her Partner and hoping that they both punch their ticket to the CrossFit Games.
Stacy talks about her job doing analysis of Bio Mechanics using computer technology. The Ohio native is a huge baseball fan was a swimmer for most of her life and when that career ended she tried Marathon running and boxing. From the outside looking in she knew she would LOVE CrossFit so she held off for 3 years knowing she would go all in and not have the time to commit... and she was right.
Jack is the next big thing, training with Emma Lawson he is ready to be known as more than just a heavy lifter. He has heard people say that Atlas is overprogrammed and that makes it the perfect place to show what he can do.
This 19 Year old is in her 6th season of CrossFit after her oft injured Gymnastics career was taking too much toll on the body especially concussions and head injuries. She joined PRVN this year and got to take part in their semifinal camp.
Molly has been doing CrossFit for 4 years now, and after a few months of classes knew she wanted to compete. The Current Mayhem athlete made a huge jump during this year's Quarterfinals to place 56th in North America. Her boyfriend and her took over an affiliate and switched its programming to Mayhem Affiliate which was the catalyst to let her switch to Mayhem Athlete.
Jaylond Franklin a team Member of CrossFit ShooFly who finished 2nd at the MACC has tested positive for PEDs and is telling their story with us LIVE!!! He was given a supplement from a friend and used it in the month of March He believes that is the contamanaited substance that made him test positive.
We sit down with the #1 Father in CrossFit, 3 Children who have qualified for the CrossFit Games, 4 Children who qualified for Semifinals, 3 College Football Players and one College Basketball player. This father of six is grounded in his faith and when times get tough he goes to church for the peace. He is also a tough nosed Yinzer who loves his Pittsburgh Roots and even though living in Cleveland now will always say he is from the Burgh. What an honor to hear all the stories and we thank Dave for being a part of this.
"Pistol Pete" is making his second appearance at a Games Semi Final this year in Canada. Placing 11th at West Coast Classic in 2021 and missing out on competing at Atlas in 2020 due to the pandemic, his goal is clear and the CrossFit Games is where's he's planning to go at some point sooner than later. Stephen was a skinny soccer player who was getting pushed off the ball and trying to get bigger he looked for answers in lifting which eventually with a google search on Olympic Lifting found a CrossFit Gym. After starting medical school he thought he was done, after making the Granite Games in 2021 after that event completely thought he was done and yet here we are again. Stephen is currently in Med School completing his sports medicine degree.
Dani is a CrossFit ICON and Legend. She has been a mainstay in the sport for so many years. In the last year she had a major surgery and was slowly coming back only to make quarterfinals and then Semifinals. Dani took this opportunity to have one last fun run to end her individual career. Cat and Dani talk about the pressures and anxiety when it is time to age out of the sport.
Ally comes from a gymnastics background and the Columbus area. She was on the 11th Element Team in 2017 and had a blast. Did team at CrossFit Grandview during the 2019 and again in 2021. In the middle of finishing her degree and getting ready for Clinical Rotations and just happened to get an invite to the Atlas Games.

Jason has lived quite the life as a professional baseball player and when his agent suggested he may be a good agent himself he dove in with all the excitement of playing baseball. Eventually he starts his own agency LAB Management that represents Baseball Players, Golfers, Track Stars and of Course those in the fitness world including CrossFIt. Jason also owns Xendurance and tells the story of finding Xendurance and how it changed things dramatically for him and he knew he had to be a part of it.
From Twinsburg Ohio at CrossFit Soul, Collin is now a Brute Strength Athlete. This Ohio University Grad needed to make a lifestyle change to get him in the right direction with his fitness. Collin is making his first trip to Canada and will road trip to Montreal.

While recently getting some individual coaching and programming, 30 year old Sabrina Gordon set her sights on the 2023 CrossFit Games season and unexpectedly qualified for the Atlas Games. She's looking to soak up the experience, learn a bunch and have fun. She's also planning a wedding later this year. Congrats Sabrina - have a blast!
This hometown kid gets to sleep in his own bed during Atlas Games and bring a slew of support which he believes will truly help him during this weekend. Found his passion after sitting at a desk for a few short years, and is back in school to follow that passion. After soccer was over he needed something else and found CrossFit to fill that hole.
Connor is a CrossFit OG who has been doing the Open every year since 2013, Regionals 16-18, and the Games in 2019. He found CrossFit after injuring his back on a Summer Job and used CrossFit to Rehab. He is head coach at Solidarity CrossFit and would love to program major competitions some day.
Calista who really wants to help people progress either in the gym or in life, that lead to her degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in Emergency Critical Care. After going last year on a team has decided that this is her year to go Individual. Now that she is a graduate she is looking to stay on Long Island where she trains with Mike Needleman.
Army JAG Jack Rozema is making his return to Semi Finals, this year with a plan to qualify for the CrossFit Games. Placing 15th at Granite Games last year, he's filled some holes and is ready to get back to action. Jack's recently been following Underdogs Athletics programming, spent some time in Virginia training with fellow atlas Games competitor Connor Duddy and is ready to "surrender the outcome". Meet Oklahoma Native Parker Foster who's making his semifinals debut at Atlas Games. Coming off of an appearance at West Coast Classic in 2021 with Team CrossFit Koda Norman, he's feeling ready for his first Individual competition. Parker's athletic career prior to CrossFit left him with a fractured vertebra and since 2018 he's been building back up to be highly competitive once again. Parker's been following Mayhem programming and continues to build his baseline strength and showcase his high skill gymnastics.

After a long wait, Logan got his invite to the Atlas Games. Logan made sure he kept training through the drama of waiting on his invite and now is focused on increasing volume and recovery. Plans to do a mock up if the workouts are released in time. Hoping to celebrate a great weekend in Montreal.
Meet Hattie Kanyo, former wildfire firefighter, collegiate athlete and member of the National Team for Functional Fitness Federation, Hattie is excited for the opportunity to compete at this level, stay in her lane and stick to her plan. Back from a 10-month stint in Bali, she's looking to go back after the Games to continue training in person with her coach and see where her athletic abilities can take her. This 23 year old student, husband and father of 5 month old Kase has sprung on the scene in just the last 2 years making his semifinal debut in Montreal next weekend. A former collegiate baseball player (catcher) turned competitive CrossFitter, Drake has competed in back to back iron games and is ready to learn and continue his trajectory. His dog's name is Fraser for goodness sake. He's serious about this CrossFit stuff! He credits his mom for getting him into the sport in the first place and his wife for being his biggest supporter. He's been following PRVN Compete track and he NEEDS someone to take his Coach's pass for the weekend since he's traveling far from Utah to the competition not many of his camp was able to make the trip. The athletes are not in a bubble, they are affected by every decision CrossFit Makes. They are human beings with human emotions. This is not a hobby for the athletes this is a career, a life long dream, something they have put 100% of their focus toward and making changes that make no sense or could have been dealt with prior to becoming an issue are not helping the cause.

CrossFit Faru's co-founder, Wesley Gold is the Law Enforcement Officer for the Grumeti Reserve and manages 100+ anti-poaching scouts on the ground in Tanzania and oversees the efforts to reduce poaching in the area. Kristen Chandler shares what the anti-poaching scouts go through in a day, how dangerous their job is and how CrossFit is preparing the scouts to be more prepared doing their jobs.

Amy was born without her right leg all the way up to the hip. After moving to Nashville to be a Singer/Songwriter, she began kickboxing to stay in shape, after being pushed by a coach at her gym she began to push herself further and discovered there was so much more that she could do, then when she learned that the CrossFit Games was adding an adaptive division she decided to go for it and had one of the most inspiring moments at this years games that captured the hearts of everyone who got the opportunity to witness it. This has given her the desire to continue pusing and being a mentor and inpiration to so many more.

We sit down with Cheryl to discuss her time growing up in Florida, going to college only to find out that her Grandmother needed her care so she moved home, began to overexercise and under eat, which took her to a rehab facility to battle Anorexia. After completing the rehab Cheryl was looking for a way to workout in a safe way and this is where she found CrossFit, where she actually decided to gain weight to be competitive. She has earned two trips to the CrossFit Games and learned so much that she now helps others by coaching CrossFit and Nutrition and prioritzes this in her life. Tricia grew up as a competitive cheerleader and that is how she met her husband. When they had their first child Bronson, he was born with a traumatic brain injury! Bronson was going to need everything his mom had and more. After years of doing everything in her power, she discovered CrossFit and that gave her so much more! It gave her the strength to be able to carry her child who needed her, and maybe even bigger a community that accepted her with open arms and wanted to help lift her and her family up. It became a happy place for Tricia and surprisingly Bronson as well. The noise of the gym became a comfort to him and the family could enjoy CrossFit together.
We talk to one of the OG's of CrossFit Miranda Alcaraz. Erin Smith was on full Scholarship at Ohio Northern University to play Volleyball. Just before her Sophomore year her and her friends were in a horrific motorcycle accident where a drunk driver crossed the median on Interstate 71 and hit them head on. Erin was the only one of her friends to survive the accident, but was faced with an uphill battle to just gain a sense of normalcy.
