In this episode, Pastor Jeff Christianson explores the life-transforming direction found in Philippians 3:12–14 and Colossians 3:1–3—pressing forward and looking upward. Contrasting the biblical call to focus on Christ with the inward and backward methods of secular counseling, Pastor Jeff emphasizes the sufficiency of Scripture and the person of Christ in our sanctification journey. Drawing from years of ministry and mentorship under Pastor Chuck Smith and Pastor Bob Hoekstra, he reminds us that true spiritual growth comes not from introspection, but from setting our minds on things above. This episode is a call to refocus on the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

In this episode of the Biblical Counseling Podcast, Pastor Jeff Christianson opens the Scriptures to Romans 12:2 and Ephesians 4:17–23, reminding us that true transformation begins with a renewed mind. Drawing from his own spiritual formation through years of studying God’s Word, he explains how biblical counseling isn’t about behavior modification—it’s about spiritual renewal, led by the Holy Spirit.
Before we came to Christ, our thinking was shaped by the world. But God calls us to be “transformed by the renewing of our minds,” not conformed to worldly patterns. This renewal is essential for every believer—and especially vital for those ministering the Word in counseling and discipleship.

If you are a biblical counselor, you have come face to face with many forms of human brokenness. It is overwhelming at times to see the effects of human sinfulness and depravity in the world. Men and women live in circumstances touched by suffering, substance abuse, anger, conflict, bitterness, depression, grief, sexual immorality, and shame. The secular world cannot see the spiritual realities behind these manifestations of sin. In each circumstance, Christians perceive that manifestations of sin and suffering are the results of death and bear witness to the absence of spiritual life among humanity.
This podcast begins a new series of theological talks addressing one of the most vital doctrines for biblical counselors, the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. If the sin and suffering counselees experience in the world is a result of sin and suffering, then the Holy Spirit is central to the work of biblical counseling.
In this podcast, Jeff Christianson argues that the Holy Spirit plays a vital role in the work and ministry of biblical counseling. The Holy Spirit gives and sustains spiritual life in both the ministry of the biblical counselor and the spiritual lives of counselees.
In Scripture, we see that the Holy Spirit plays two major roles in the believer’s life. First, the Holy Spirit gives spiritual life to the believer (John 3:3–8). Paul writes that we were dead in our trespasses and sins (Eph 2:1). Our spiritual life begins when the Holy Spirit fully indwells our hearts at conversion. Second, the Holy Spirit not only gives us spiritual life, but he also remains within us as our continual source of spiritual life. Once we are born again, we continue to walk in step with the Spirit (Gal 5:25). Christians must remember that as they commute, work, travel, rest, fellowship, and engage in the different activities of life, they are constantly drawing upon the spiritual power of the Holy Spirit to sustain their spiritual life.
Many Christians struggle with understanding the nature of the spiritual life. They feel defeated by sin. They see their affections for God withering. They feel powerless in evangelism. For how common these experiences can feel, Jeff Christianson reminds Christians that they must not look to their own efforts to grow and sustain spiritual fruit. But Christians must look to the Holy Spirit to sustain their spiritual lives.
Christians face a difficulty when discussing the Holy Spirit. There are many crazy ideas about the Holy Spirit floating around the church world today. Many Christians struggle to maintain the biblical balance on the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. On the one side is “Charismania.” Many Christians can become overwhelmed by experiences or ideas that they think are biblical. Sadly, the Holy Spirit can easily become an excuse for fleshly and humanistic hype. The key to discerning the work of the Holy Spirit is recognizing the authority and sufficiency of the Scriptures. God’s Word must govern and regulate our understanding of the Spirit’s work (1 Jn 4:1). On the other hand, many Christians respond strongly against the abuses of the Spirit’s work and swing too far the other way. People see the abuses of the Spirit and embrace a dead or dry approach to the Spirit’s work. In trying to prevent the abuses, they adopt a lifeless spirituality.
Instead of falling into either the ditch of “Charismania” or the ditch of lifeless spirituality, Christians must embrace the full teaching of the Word of God on the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. God’s Word clearly teaches that there is life, hope, and peace for believers found in the work of the Holy Spirit.
Christians must be careful when approaching the work of counseling. Many times, counselors have a background in some sort of mechanical field. Maybe you have a craft or a skill that has been cultivated over time. Jeff Christianson in this podcast shares his past as a car mechanic. Jeff spent many years in the 1980s working on hot rods and cars during the “Rock ’n’ Roll” years in Los Angeles, California. He still remembers the formula and processes of constructing engines, bodywork, and styling cars.
Christians with backgrounds in mechanical fields can take a mechanical approach to counseling. They are tempted to treat people like machines and view the change process as a series of formulas. Christianson reminds counselors that counselees are much more complex than cars or equipment. Many times, counselees lives are messy and complicated. The complexity of counseling forces counselors to rely upon the Holy Spirit in the transformation of their counselees.
Jeff Christianson ends this podcast with his own personal testimony. If there was ever an example of a messy counselee, Jeff fit the picture! Jeff shares how 2022 marks thirty years of his spiritual life as a Christian. If someone traveled back thirty years to Los Angeles, they would find a young Jeff Christianson with long hair, a cool car, and an empty soul. Jeff pursued everything the world had to offer, drugs, girls, and fun. His work on hot rods gave him access to celebrities and rock stars during the height of rock music in LA. One fateful day in 1992, Jeff went to see the band Motorhead and their new opening act, a band called Guns N’ Roses. During the concert, Jeff attempted to smoke in the concert hall and was kicked out. Drunk, Jeff went behind the theater to urinate only to be arrested. He spent the night in the Pasadena jail. Once he was released, he found his car impounded. A long walk to his car gave Jeff time to think about his life. His hot rod business was falling apart. His girlfriend had left him. He was empty. He was broken. His life was falling apart.
Soon after, Jeff found a Gideon’s bible and God changed his story. Jeff believes in the power of the Holy Spirit because thirty years ago the Holy Spirit took a young and empty Jeff Christianson and gave him spiritual life.

Podcast Episode for Biblical Counselors in Training
Helping Others Cultivate a Life of Prayer
As a Biblical counselor, have you ever wondered how to equip those you serve to develop a meaningful and effective prayer life? This week’s episode of the Biblical Counseling Podcast with Pastor Jeff Christianson dives deep into the essential role of prayer in the Christian life and provides you with the tools to help others make prayer a consistent and transformative part of their daily walk with God.
Prayer is more than just asking God for help; it’s about fostering a deep, personal connection with Him that shapes hearts and lives. Drawing from Scripture, such as 1 Thessalonians 5:17, which exhorts believers to “pray without ceasing,” Pastor Jeff explains how prayer can be integrated into the busyness of life. This episode offers practical strategies for Biblical counselors to guide others in understanding what it means to live in constant communication with God.
Through prayer, individuals learn to share their thoughts, emotions and needs with God while embracing His guidance, peace, and presence. As Jesus taught in Matthew 6, prayer is an act of praise, trust, and humility before the Father. In this episode, Pastor Jeff shares how Biblical counselors can effectively model and teach this perspective on prayer to those they disciple.
This episode equips Biblical counselors with practical accountability tools to:
● Encourage those they counsel to prioritize daily prayer. ● Teach the foundational importance of prayer in their relationship with God. ● Guide others in building a sustainable, vibrant prayer life that fosters spiritual growth.
● Use prayer as a means to point people back to God’s transformative power.
Prayer is vital in Biblical counseling because it reflects our dependence on God as the ultimate Counselor. By teaching others to pray and holding them accountable to prayer, we help them experience His love, guidance, and restoration in their lives. It’s through prayer that true heart transformation occurs, as we connect with the One who heals and renews.
As you listen to this episode, take a moment to reflect on your own prayer life and how you can encourage those you serve to make prayer a daily habit. Whether it’s a quick prayer in the middle of a busy day or an extended time of conversation with God, remember that He is always listening. Prayer not only brings peace and guidance, but it also deepens our relationship with Him and aligns us with His will. Tune in to this episode and be inspired to make prayer a cornerstone of your Biblical counseling ministry. Equip yourself to help others discover the joy and power of a life centered on prayer!

Living daily by God's grace depends upon getting to know Him and then walking in the humility and faith that result from fellowship with Him.
There are four ways to relate rightly to the Lord in humility and faith:
(Matthew 28:19 NKJV) (19) "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
(John 1:43 NKJV) (43) The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found Philip and said to him, "Follow Me."
(Luke 9:23 NKJV) (23) Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

The season of Christmas is a memorable time for many people. The special holidays and decorations accompany festive gatherings and events, especially those events centered around the incarnation of the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Yet, some people do not see Christmas as a time of celebration but a season of pain. Consumer Christmas and social media consistently remind us about the items we lack or the events we missed. Many people experience Christmas as a season of loneliness, anxiety, and depression. What truths can we remember during the Christmas season and the rest of the year to fight against depression, isolation, and worry?
In this week’s episode of the Biblical Counseling Podcast, Pastor Jeff Christianson draws the listener’s attention to one of the greatest miracles ever performed: the incarnation. The Christmas season is a special time for reflecting upon the descent of the Son of God into our fallen world as God’s Son took on human nature. Fully God and fully man, Jesus Christ is Immanuel, God with us. Pastor Jeff reminds us that the truths of Christmas should stagger us. Not only did the Son of God humble himself in an unfathomable manner, he promises to remain with us and abide within us. Jesus says in John 14:3, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”
Biblical counselors must remind counselees of God’s amazing promise to abide in his people forever. Christ’s condescension and his perpetual identification with us in our humanity will forever bear witness to Christ’s continual presence among his people. All other religions propose that we may dwell with God only after producing enough works to gain his pleasure; only Christianity speaks of a God who dwells among the lowly and secures as salvation at his own expense.
At Christmas time, many sing the beloved hymn “O Come, O Come, Immanuel,”
O come, O come, Immanuel,
and ransom captive Israel
that mourns in lonely exile here
until the Son of God appear.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Immanuel
shall come to you, O Israel.
There are many people who struggle with feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and depression from being isolated from others. They may feel as if they are mourning in lonely exile. For example, many people who survive suicide attempts concede that they felt alone and believed that no one cared about them. While biblical counselors cannot promise to make themselves available to every counselees whenever a need arises, counselors can point counselees to the one who never leaves them nor forsakes them. The truth of Christ’s perpetual presence among his people comforts the distressed soul. Furthermore, counselees can find repose from the fact that Christ understands feelings of loneliness and isolation, as he experienced abandonment of his friends at his most pressing hour. Struggling Christians can identify with their crucified savior who intimately knows the feelings of loneliness.
Christians are responsible for making themselves available to those around them. During the business of the holiday season, events and checklists can overshadow real people who need company or a phone call. This holiday season or any time of year, who needs the comfort of your presence? Who needs your condescension into the mess of their lives? As Christians, do we model Christ’s willingness to open himself up to the pain and suffering of others at the personal cost to himself? We who are rich in Christ, do we make ourselves poor out of love for others?

Biblical counselors face criticisms for believing that Scripture contains everything that we need for counseling others. Many psychologists label this thinking as simplistic. Are biblical counselors simplistic by believing in the sufficiency of God’s Word? How do we think about the complexities of secular psychology and the simplicity of the Christian message?
In this week’s episode of the Biblical Counseling Podcast, Pastor Jeff Christianson defends the sufficiency of Scripture from the assaults of secular voices and opinions. Many Christians have been deceived by the allures of psychology’s insights and models. Pastor Jeff reminds listeners that the greatest threat to the church is the temptation to abandon Jesus Christ, the wonderful counselor (Is 9:6). Scripture speaks of the constant temptation to abandon God as the source of life for lesser substitutes which never satisfy our hearts (Jer 2:13).
Teaching from James 1:21-22, Pastor Jeff reminds listeners that the Word of God alone can save our souls. Humility defines every biblical counselor’s posture. We must come humbly to God’s Word and seek his wisdom. While secular psychology offers many observations and hypotheses, only God’s Word takes us from death to life. Also, we must put God’s Word to practice to avoid self-deception. The counselee who hears God’s Word but fails to put these words into practice is deceived and puffed up. We must devour God’s Word, absorbing its truths into our hearts. Then, we must apply God’s Word, fully convinced of Scripture’s authority. If God has called us to serve as his counselors, we must prepare ourselves with his Word to function as his instruments.
Secular psychology impresses many people with its observations and studies. In 2 Corinthians 11:3, Paul warns us to watch for Satan’s deceptive tactics, which lure us away from the simplicity of Christ. While psychology parades around its complexities and insights, we know that psychology cannot penetrate the depths of our hearts. Only the true and simple message of Christ gives life to our souls. The gospel is not simplistic or non-substantial, it is simple yet profound, that God would send his Son into the world to redeem sinners and rebels. Yet, psychological theory is one of Satan’s most crafty tactics to hurt the church since it presents a way to life and self-modification without God. Many Christians are caught up in the pursuit of psychological training and submit themselves to the world’s standards of becoming a good psychotherapist. But the riches of wisdom and insight are only found in the gospel of Jesus Christ (Eph 3:8).

[Jude 1:3 NKJV] Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.
Jude 3 tells us to "contend earnestly for the faith." What does this mean for us today? It serves as a reminder to maintain our convictions, to stand up for what we believe in, and to be steadfast in the face of difficulties.
These days, people are always asking questions about what they believe. It's important for us to hold onto what we know is true. When we stand strong in our faith, we strengthen our own beliefs and show others that there is hope and truth in the world.
Earnestly contending for the faith includes the ministry of reproof, the pointing out of wrong or error.
"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves" (Matthew 7:15)
We are also responsible to expose and warn against such false teachings, just like Jesus did.

(Acts 2:23 NKJV) (23) "Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death;
The Bible shows us something amazing: God's plan and what people do are always working together. God planned for Jesus to die on the cross. It was part of His big plan, and Jesus knew it and wanted to do it.
The Bible often shows us that God is in control, but people also have choices to make. It's like two things happening at the same time. It's not surprising that God is in charge, But people are also involved in everything they do. They make choices, and they are responsible to God for those choices.

🎙️ Abundant Fruitfulness: Grace for Bearing Fruit
In John 15:4-5, Jesus invites us into a lifestyle of bearing fruit through abiding in Him.
At the heart of this passage lies the call to fruitfulness. God desires to see the fruit of His Spirit flourishing in our lives, for it is through this abundance that His glory is revealed.
But what does it mean to bear fruit?
It's not just about external actions; it's about the internal transformation that reflects the character of Christ. Love, joy, peace, kindness, gentleness—the fruit of the Spirit is the essence of Christ living and breathing within us, manifesting His grace in tangible ways.
Yet, the path to abundant fruitfulness is not one we tread alone. Just as a branch finds its vitality in the vine, we find our strength and sustenance in Christ. Through the intimate act of abiding in Him, allowing His life to flow through ours, we become conduits of His grace, yielding not just fruit, but much fruit—abundant and enduring.
In this captivating analogy of the vine and branches, Jesus unveils His blueprint for a life marked by fruitfulness. It's not about striving in our own efforts, but surrendering to the transformative power of grace, allowing Christ to work in and through us.
Join us as we explore how abiding in Him isn't just a passive state—it's an active, dynamic relationship that catalyzes the growth of fruit in our lives. Tune in and discover the abundant grace available to empower you on your journey toward bearing fruit that remains.

In this podcast series, Pastor Jeff talks about "The Grace of God for Daily Living," and explore the transformative power of God's grace in our everyday lives.
It is designed to help you understand the depth of God's unending grace and how it impacts every aspect of your life. We believe that when we fully grasp the magnitude of God's grace, we can navigate life's challenges with greater courage, find peace amidst turmoil, and experience joy even in the most difficult circumstances.
2 Peter 3:18- “but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” The point in this verse is grace is for growing.
Grow in grace. For too many Christians their knowledge of the grace of God is limited to the forgiving, justifying grace of God.

2 Timothy 3:1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come.In the last days, toward the end of the church.
And the reason is “for men will be”.
If you've studied this passage or read these verses lately, surely your heart heard the Lord say we are in these days.
Are we not?
What's the number one characteristic of humankind listed here, describing the last days?
Verse 2 says, “...for men will be lovers of themselves”.
Now this makes “self” a false God.
And that's it.
But, in the last days, men will be lovers of themselves.
What's God's plan for “self”?
Luke 9:23 and elsewhere, Jesus said, “Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”

“You will guide me with Your counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.” Psalm 73:24
This is to be our confidence for time and eternity.
--Throughout time God will guide us with His counsel, if we let Him, if we look to Him, and if we trust Him to do so.
And afterward, what will He do?
--As we’re walking along that path of His counsel, He’ll just receive us right into glory.
--He’ll just continue it in heaven forever.

Jesus Christ, our Living Hope
Jeff Christianson
Every one of us struggles at times with discouragement, with concerns that might build to worry or anxiety. Add the world-wide crisis into the mix, challenges with health, money, politics, emotional and relational stress - it’s not surprising that doubts and strife in the mind abound among people. Despair and hopelessness are not uncommon to all of humanity, including us, the people of God. In those seasons of struggle, our hope seems to be quite inadequate and meager. This brief article is meant to encourage those of us who face moments of being downcast to fix our eyes upon Jesus. Sometimes, it seems as though hope is just fading away. But the wonderful truth is that God has a remedy. That’s not unusual; He is the God of Hope! His remedy is unique and distinct. His Holy Spirit wants to flood our lives with hope. I’ve found that anchoring my hope correctly saves a lot of heartbreak and fills my life with such great joy. There is no greater hope than the everlasting hope found in our Lord Jesus Christ and sufficiency of His Word. Hope has a name, and it’s Jesus Christ.
Hope In The Person of Jesus
Peter says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” (1 Peter 1:3). Those who trust in Jesus are born into a new family, into a new kingdom, and a new life where the God of hope is involved. They are set free from living a life with hope placed in the world instead of Christ. They are a new creation, Christ is the gracious King, and God is their benevolent Father (2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 John 3:1; Hebrews 4:14-16). All of these wonderful truths are anchored in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus, our living hope, is a person (1 Tim 1:1; John 20:26-28). All too often, we try to put our hope in things that the world offers: programs, steps, outlines, life hacks, coping strategies, therapies, philosophies, false religions. These all can deliver temporary hope but they leave us without satisfaction. Christians place their ultimate hope in a person we meet through humble repentance and faith. And, this person is unlike any other. He’s the preeminent one. He’s the exalted one. He’s the all-sufficient One. He is the glorious Christ!
Hope In Jesus’ Return
In Jesus we have a blessed hope; he will return. Paul describes Christians as “looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13). How amazing is it that this life is not all that we have? It is so easy to be so focused on day to day living that we forget that our Savior is coming to gather us to Himself. We will never be separated from Him or His holiness. We will spend eternity together.
How much smaller do some issues seem when compared to eternity? When we lose sight of eternity, we lose sight of what is important (2 Corinthians 4:16). When we lose sight of what's important, we chase after the temporary and cannot find satisfaction. We are left empty and hopeless. Instead, let us fix our hope in the love of Christ and the grace to be revealed when He returns (Ephesians 3:14-21; 1 Peter 1:13).
Hope: Christ In You
Colossians 1:27 says, “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Our hope is not far off from us. Christ isn’t isolated from us. He’s right there in our lives. Because Jesus is always with us, and lives in us, we can be sure that he hears us when we pray. Jesus is intimately involved with us, everywhere, all the time (Ps 139:7-10). God isn’t simply with us, he is orchestrating our lives for good. God is right in the middle of it with us. Even in difficult circumstances we can have hope because God in His sovereignty has us right where he wants us to be. Whether it is to grow us in faith or draw us closer to Him, God has us where we are for a reason and he is sustaining us through each difficulty (Isaiah 41:10; Romans 5:1-5).
When we are encompassed and surrounded with pressure-filled circumstances, our temptation is to put our hope in changing the situation. We tell ourselves, “If only x were to happen, then life would be better.” Instead of focusing on our circumstances, we need to turn our eyes to the resurrected Christ. We find resurrected life in our resurrected Lord. Instead of trying harder and “pushing through”, we need to put our hope in Christ. That is what brings us living hope. There’s no situation so torturous, so impossible, so agonizing, so depleting of vitality, but what the Lord, who is risen from the dead, can share his resurrection life with us and see us through it, and if he so wills, even deliver us out of that situation. May you and I, today, find help, hope and comfort in Jesus Christ, our loving hope.
Reflection Questions
Are you tempted to place your hope in anything outside of the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ?
What do you currently think will bring you joy and satisfaction?
How have things in your life shown to disappoint you when you’ve placed your hope in them?
How has Christ shown Himself to be an object of hope?

God’s Resources, Not Ours
As counselors, we need to increasingly rely on God’s resources, not ours. 2 Corinthians 3:5 states: “Our sufficiency is from God.” We are not sufficient of ourselves. Apart from Christ in us, we cannot produce what life demands or what God desires. This is humbling yet liberating. It's humbling to realize we lack what's essential for true living. Yet it's liberating to know God doesn't expect us to produce it ourselves. He freely provides all we need. Our role is simply to draw upon His unlimited resources by faith.
"Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God..." 2 Corinthians 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

“In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (I Peter 1:6-7).

“But we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life. Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead” (II Corinthians 1:8-9).
“Who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us” (II Corinthians 1:10).
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us” (II Corinthians 4:7).

Verse one is about restoring the falling brother. The context for this verse, flowing right out of the previous two verses. Galatians 6:1 is a word to those who have found life in the Spirit and who are desiring therefore to walk each day by the Spirit. We are told here that such people will not treat others with prideful competition and jealousy. But rather they will want to help and assist one another.

In this episode, Pastor Jeff talks about how psychology is infiltrating the church. Instead of the church impacting the world around us, the world is infecting the body of Christ.
So often unbiblical, worldly messages are being brought into the church. The truths of Scripture are the message of the church and must not be mixed with humanistic philosophies.
God’s Word is powerful. The people of God need to hold fast to the Word of God and the Gospel, which is the power of God for salvation and a changed life. Let us not embrace what is popular, but come back to the Word of God.
Jeff often talks about the difference between psychology and the Bible. But just to clarify, when he mentions psychology, he isn't referring to the entire field of psychology. He is mainly pushing back about the part of psychology that deals with human nature, how to live life, and how to make changes. This includes things like psychological counseling, clinical counseling, psychotherapy, and the psychological aspects of psychiatry.
These theories have also influenced some parts of educational psychology, especially behaviorism and humanism. But the problem is that these theories focus on nonphysical aspects of a person, which can conflict with biblical teachings about things like sin, salvation, and our relationship with God. So, it's important to be aware of these differences when considering how to approach personal growth and change biblically. His point? God's Word is sufficient!

(36) "But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. (37) "For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
(Ephesians 4:29 NKJV) (29) Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
(1 John 1:8 NKJV) (8) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
(Proverbs 18:13, 17 NKJV) (13) He who answers a matter before he hears it, It is folly and shame to him. ... (17) The first one to plead his cause seems right, Until his neighbor comes and examines him.
(2 Corinthians 12:20 NKJV) (20) For I fear lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I wish, and that I shall be found by you such as you do not wish; lest there be contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, backbitings, whisperings, conceits, tumults;
(2 Corinthians 13:1 NKJV) (1) This will be the third time I am coming to you. "By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established."
(Proverbs 26:22 NKJV) (22) The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles, And they go down into the inmost body.
(Proverbs 25:18 NKJV) (18) A man who bears false witness against his neighbor Is like a club, a sword, and a sharp arrow.
(Colossians 3:8 NKJV) (8) But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.
(Ephesians 4:26 NKJV) (26) "Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath,
(Ecclesiastes 7:9 NKJV) (9) Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, For anger rests in the bosom of fools.
(Proverbs 15:8 NKJV) (8) The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, But the prayer of the upright is His delight.
(2 Timothy 3:1-5 NKJV) (1) But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: (2) For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, (3) unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, (4) traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, (5) having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
How can we have a Personal Revival? How do we help those we minister to walk in newness of life?
Scriptures
In this episode, Pastor Jeff contrast psychology and the Bible. As in our other podcasts, when we speak of psychology we are not referring to the entire discipline. Our concern is with that part of psychology which deals with the very nature of man, how he should live, and how he should change. That includes the theories and methodologies behind psychological counseling, clinical counseling, psychotherapy, and the psychological aspects of psychiatry. The same theories have also influenced certain aspects of educational psychology, especially the theories of behaviorism and humanism. Because these theories deal with the nonphysical aspects of the person, they intrude upon the very essence of biblical doctrines of man, including his fallen condition, salvation, sanctification, and relationship of love and obedience to God.
“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”
—Ephesians 4:11-12
BiblicalCounselingAcademy.com
In this episode, Pastor Jeff talks about how psychology is infiltrating the church. Instead of the church impacting the world around us, the world is infecting the body of Christ.
So often unbiblical, worldly messages are being brought into the church. The truths of Scripture are the message of the church and must not be mixed with humanistic philosophies.
God’s Word is powerful. The people of God need to hold fast to the Word of God and the Gospel, which is the power of God for salvation and a changed life. Let us not embrace what is popular, but come back to the Word of God.
The Holy Spirit works by the Word of God to transform the people of God.
God’s people are called to make disciples. Biblical Counseling is a form of discipleship. Through discipleship, God transforms a life. God wants to use counselors and direct them to counsel through His mighty Word.

Jennie and I talk about our testimony in this episode. how we were impacted by the Jesus Movement in the 1990's. We caught the tail end of the revival - and were impacted by Jesus! Chuck Smith, founder and pastor of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, led with expositional verse-by-verse Bible studies. He taught that the gifts seen and described in The New Testament are at work today. He baptized members in the Pacific Ocean. Unlike many other Christian movements, there was no single leader or figurehead of the Jesus movement. "The timing of this [Jesus Revolution film] is incredible, and I believe God's hand has been on it from the beginning," said Greg Laurie, senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in California
Our testimony is "The Holy Spirit of God; Working through the Word of God; Transforming the People of God!"

"For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit." 1 Corinthians 12:12,13

188: Fruit produced by the Fullness of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22-231 Corinthians 12:10
In today’s episode, we will discuss the Gifts and Fruit of the Holy Spirit:
Fruit is what produces by the gift and it must be the Spirit of love, love must be prominent. Fruit is caused by the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, it must overflow in a good Christian life, gifting that cannot be manufactured.
The result of being filled with the Holy Spirit would be a life of abundance and victorious.
We must ask for the Lord's help.
Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Acts 19:6 And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.

The Person Seeking Counsel Needs To Know The Holy Spirit Is Available To Them!
In today's episode, we discuss the results of being filled with the Holy Spirit, such as:
These are often the things which those seeking biblical counsel are missing in their Christian life.
People are sensing there should be more fullness in the Christian life. It comes by the Holy Spirit. Our efforts as Biblical Counselors will be weak and ineffective unless empowered by the Holy Spirit ourselves through constant reading, studying and meditating on the Word of God, and calling on Him in prayer, as we are going to see in today’s study.

The Empowering Of The Spirit
In this episode Pastor Jeff will talk about the Holy Spirit’s empowering ministry. He supplies the needed power to live the Christian life and to offer any kind of service you are involved in. Living and serving in Christian ministry requires His resources, not ours. Ability that we do not have within ourselves. But God shares it with us through the Holy Spirit.
The number one way to be equipped in biblical counseling is to meditate the word of God, to know more about the scripture. To know more the word of God and the work of the Holy Spirit. We want a ministry of the Word and the Spirit.
Understanding the Truth in the Bible
Joshua 1:8 says, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
A person seeking counsel will need to understand that the Holy Spirit is working with them, in them and upon them - as described in the Scripture. It has to be the power of the spirit that brings boldness, empowerment, and spiritual strength.
The Bible provides us with a variety of words to draw upon. This is important. There are several terminologies that we learn from culture that become a habitual part of our conversations. We need to ‘unlearn’ the world's way of thinking and communicating. Let’s make sure you're using the same terminology that God uses in the Bible. We need to study and think about the Bible if we want to develop biblical thinking and a biblical method of explanation. In reality, we can instruct people with Bible verses.
The Holy Spirit as “With”, “In”, and “Upon”
With - Acts 1:5
In - Romans 8:9
Upon - Acts 1:8

Welcome to the Biblical Counseling Podcast!
In this episode Pastor Jeff continues the series about the Holy Spirit. Biblical Counseling is helping another person walk in the Lord. A passion to minister to others knowing that the Holy Spirit of God is there to convict and transform lives. The Bible gives us a truth that self has to be removed in order to do what is right and walk in the Spirit. To avoid giving in to the lust of the flesh, we must have the Holy Spirit at work within us. As always- make your comments on jeffchristianson.org
"I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh...If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit...For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life." Galatians 5:16, 25 and 6:8

“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for the Lord loves a cheerful giver.” —2 Corinthians 9:7
In this episode, I make comments on the topic of legalism and the booklet, Letting Go of Legalism" by Dr. Lou Priolo. Lou write, "The most common form of legalism among evangelicals today is elevating man-made rules above the directives and principles that God has laid out in His Word. It results in judging others (accusing either in one’s heart or with one’s mouth) of sinning when those man made rules are not followed. In this booklet you will gain a clearer understanding of how legalism infects us as believers, and how to recognize both doctrinal and applied legalism in one’s own life. Upon seeing it, we then can begin letting go of legalism in its various forms, truly love others, and press on in the grace and righteousness of Christ."

Biblical counselors desire to unleash the power of God into the lives of their counselees. When we look at Scripture, we see so many promises of blessings and comfort found in Christ. Yet, we see many people stuck in bondage to sin, unable to break free from self-destructive patterns. How can counselors help their counselees experience victory rather than defeat?
In this week’s episode of the Biblical Counseling Podcast, Pastor Jeff Christianson and Jennie Christianson explain how a passion for Christ frees Christians from the power and reign of sin.

Everyone knows what a conflict looks like. Yelling, arguing, cold shoulders, furrowed eyebrows. Yet, Christians know that different conflicts have different shapes. As we approach Scripture, God instructs different approaches to certain conflicts rather than others. How can we discern between different conflicts we may see in the church?
In this week’s episode of the Biblical Counseling Podcast, Pastor Jeff Christianson and Jennie Christianson overview three types of conflict biblical counselors will face.

In this week’s episode of the Biblical Counseling Podcast, Pastor Jeff Christianson and Jennie Christianson continue their discussion on managing conflict from matters of differentness. We recognize that God made every individual his or her own person.
People are different. This reality can contribute to disagreements on style and personality. When we approach conflicts of differentness, hopefully, each person involved has a willing heart to hear what the Scriptures have to say about these conflicts. We recognize that God has given us this command in Romans 12:18: “If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.”

Contending for "The Faith" does not mean be contentious. But it means we are called to contend earnestly for the faith.
So, for the love of God, for the love of His truth, for the love of all who need His truth, let's seek to guard and live and proclaim a pure biblical faith.

“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.”
These are the words of the Lord Jesus, teaching in the upper room to his disciples, discipling them.

There are three goals in soul care. Number one, every believer in Christ needs a word of counsel from God regularly. It’s important to find His knowledge and wisdom in our lives especially if we are going to be instruments of His counsel for others. Number two, we ask God to equip us to counsel others His way. We all need to grow in this area because all Christians are called to give a word of counsel. Third, we want to notice the warnings about deceptive philosophies.
The word of God has warnings that need to be heeded so we don’t give bad counsel and will discern the difference when we receive counsel.
One of the goals of the Biblical Counseling Academy (BCA) is to encourage and help pastors who want to equip ministry teams in their local church (and for any Christians preparing for ministry). The Biblical Counseling Academy was founded with this in mind – for people who need God’s counsel, those who want to be equipped to counsel God's way, and desire to take note of God’s way versus man’s way in the counseling ministry.

Psalm 46:1-3
"1. To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A Song for Alamoth. God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Psalm 73:24 the psalmist confesses a great truth:
“You will guide me with Your counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.”
This is to be our confidence for time and eternity.
Throughout time God will guide us with His counsel, if we let Him, if we look to Him, and if we trust Him to do so.
And afterward, what will He do?
Enrollment is Now Open! BiblicalCounselingAcademy.com
Now Enrolling: BiblicalCounselingAcademy.com Biblical Counseling Can Be Described As: * 1:1 Soul Care, Ministering to One Another * It begins with the Lord as Counselor. The comprehensive, all-sufficient wisdom and knowledge of Jesus, our Wonderful Counselor. * He is given to us for discipleship and sanctification, * Through the life-giving, life-changing, life-liberating, life-sustaining truth of the word of God, * By the full involvement of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, * Involving prayer from trusting, seeking hearts, * All in the context of the Lord’s love being shared in the relationships and “one another” ministries of Christ’s church, * While being alert and careful to avoid the philosophical wisdom of this world and the resources of the self-life.
Counseling God’s way is not getting ideas from the experts of the world in psychological theory. Rather, it is putting our hope in the Lord and using His ordained means of counseling. Let’s ask God to show us if the counsel that we receive and the counsel that we give fits His pattern. If so, thank God and press ahead in it. If not, let’s allow the Lord to adjust our counseling to His will. Also, may we pray for all in the church world to do the same.
This podcast episode talks about a pastor’s perspective on what it means to equip the saints for the work of the ministry. In this episode, Pastor Jeff Christianson provides a review on the booklet by Lou Priolo, “Fear Breaking its Grip”.
If you are possessed by fear that your body and soul seem powerless against it, if you are one that’s prone to fear, and if you’re a biblical counselor or church leader who recognizes that people have been paralyzed by this fear and they need biblical help God’s way, God has good news. God’s Holy Spirit is able to totally give you victory over fear.

“For my people have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters.” Jeremiah 2:13. God was grieved that His very people have turned aside from God’s living water and counsel for cisterns that could not hold water.
A major threat that we face as biblical counselors and among the body of Christ is when internal God’s people are forsaking the Wonderful Counselor. It is not the psychological theories of the world, it’s the inside of the church.
In this episode, we want to talk about walking away and ignoring our Wonderful Counselor. So many Christians underestimate the counsel that the Lord can bring.

“…do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you might prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:1-2.
Aren’t we surprised that the word of God is so sufficient? It is so relevant to the culture that we are living in the world today no matter what part of the world you live in.
The Lord has made it clear that it is His will for you and for the people that you counsel. We need to be renewed in the very spirit of our minds. We don’t want to be conformed to this world but we want to be transformed.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2
This is how we help those that we disciple. When we care for a soul, we point them to the scripture. We need to be transformed. As biblical counselors, this is one passage that helps us understand these things. We should give it consistent attention when we live for Christ. Live and think God’s way.

We are living in the last days. Jesus said if you see these things begin to happen, look up. Your redemption is drawing near. Look to the heavens and be reminded. This is what you, as biblical counselors, remind those who are in the biblical counseling office. It is important that we have a strong understanding of our position in eschatology.
Because of what we are seeing in our culture and our world today, we’re living in the signs of the times. There is a place for the end times events and eschatology in Biblical Counseling. What does the end times have to do with biblical counseling?

Worry is anticipating future suffering. However, it’s anticipating without anticipating the grace that God has promised to those who suffer. There’s always a remedy and biblical answers. In psychological theory, sometimes it is helpful to learn from our past but there is a point in time where need to press on and forget those things behind but Jesus said to His disciples, “Do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34.

"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit." Romans 8:2-4
"O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin." Romans 7:24-25
What is counseling with a gentle voice? In order to understand whether a person should receive confrontation or comfort, we must consider the characteristics, purposes, and uses of law and grace. We will see that the law of God is related to counseling by confrontation, while the grace of God is related to counseling by comfort.

Have you gone through a trial and thought you have no way of getting out of it? The struggle, inaccuracy, and pain are common, “Do not think it is strange.” People face trial because they are in a fallen world. God says it is not strange and your trials have a purpose.
But as a biblical counselor, we are asked to go back to the Scriptures as in 1 Peter 4:12. Before you can counsel somebody else about their trials, you must have good theology and the ability to self-counsel. Walk-in God’s counsel for your own edification, maturity, and growth. If you are not walking in victory during your trials, how are you going to help others?
In this episode of the Biblical Counseling Podcast, Pastor Jeff Christianson will talk about the importance of self-counsel during trials.

Biblical Teaching of What the Flesh is:
Let’s look at an unfolding of scripture, laying out for us what the flesh is.

In the Flesh Nothing Good Dwells:
Romans 7:18- For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.

"Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned-- For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ." Romans 5:12-17
Man’s problem: sin.
God’s remedy: grace.
Jude says, "(3) Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. (4) For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ."

Whenever you are feeling stressed, one of the best things to do is just to pause and take a new perspective of the situation.
Remember that God is bigger than the trial or problem.
Pray. Cast your burdens on the Lord. Allow Him to give you His peace. Hearing God’s Word will build your faith and trust, which are weapons against stress and anxiety.
Pause. Remember what Christmas is about again. Pause and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. Make the Christmas traditions meaningful in your home. Spend time on those priorities- the things that will rejuvenate you.
Letting our hearts be focused on Jesus at Christmas is the ultimate stress reliever. Let us be filled with awe again, at the fact that the Lord of glory came in the likeness of men, in order to redeem humanity. Because of this, we as Christians can shout, “Joy to the world, the Lord is come!"

Luke 9:23, "23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.""
As biblical counselors, we study the scriptures from God's perspective to get to know the human heart, understand sin, and understand how people live and react to God. In the Kingdom of God, He is the ultimate counselor. He uses as instruments of His counsel. In verse 5-6, we depict an image of a sheperd anointing the injured or needy sheep, in such a way that it overflows with blessings. When we walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit, that's the remedy for you as the instrument in the Redeemer's hand.

(Psalm 23:1-6 NKJV) (1) A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. (2) He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. (3) He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. (4) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. (5) You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. (6) Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.
1 Corinthians 2:12-13
(12.) "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. (13.) "These things we also speak, not with words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual."
In this podcast, Pastor Jeff discusses the passage from Galatians 5:16-23 as it correlates to with Romans 5 through 8. Here we're given an insight of important the Holy Spirit is in our lives. It serves as our guide, otherwise we are left to our own devices, fleshly indulgences. We’d never do the things we wanted to do if we were not able to be led by the Spirit and not be under the law. Under the law, we always fail. Led by the Spirit, we can grow in Christ.
This is great spiritual truth as we counsel and are counseled. This is about the Holy Spirit in counseling. This is a great section on the Holy Spirit in counseling. Counseling isn’t the context, but counseling is a major arena of application of these truths.

Part 2: The Word of God for the Hard of Hearing
In today’s session we will all be reminded what a joy it is to see God’s sufficient Word at work for a time such as ours. God, having breathed out His very Word through the writing of His Apostles has left us a living Word that changes those who, by the Spirit of God, are desirous of being conformed into the likeness of Christ. We see, however that some have become hard of hearing where spiritual matters are concerned and suffer the consequences.
How do you help those who have become “hard of hearing”? Are they lost for good or does God call us to reach out to them in compassion and truth? Be ready to be challenged to “preach the Word” whether you feel like it or not to one person or to many by His power and for His good purposes.

Greetings, Conference Attenders and Friends,
On the heels of the International Association of Biblical Counselors annual conference Jeff Christianson and I thought it would be fun to give an overview of 2 Timothy for Counselors and Disciple Makers (remember all Christians are called to disciple). We invite you to watch Part 1 entitled: Stand Strong as You Stand for Christ. You may access this podcast, complete with video here.
In this episode we see an aging Paul writing a young Timothy to encourage him not to give up even while faced with fighting from within the Church and from enemies outside of the Church. The reader is struck by the tender relationship between the great Apostle and his son in the faith. In prison for his faith Paul assures young Timothy that God has all things well in His control and that Timothy’s task is to continue steadfast without wavering.
The listener to this podcast will be challenged as to the legacy he or she leaves behind to friends, family, natural children, or children in the Lord. You will also be challenged to be a Discipler of those God brings into your realm of influence.
Part 2: The Word of God for the Hard of Hearing will be released in a week and a link sent to you at that time.

In this podcast Pastor Jeff helps us understand a key difference between Psychology and Biblical Counseling.
Psychologists have said that the answer to man’s problems is within them and that the job of the therapist is to help them bring it out.
The Bible tells us something very different, “I know, O LORD, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in a man who walks to direct his steps” (Jeremiah 10:23). “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? “I the LORD search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.” (Jeremiah 17:9-10).
Looking inside of us for the answer is not what we should be doing. We need to look to Christ and His Word.
How does the message of Psychology contrast with the Bible? How is Psychology a competing worldview?

Psychology and the Bible - it’s a matter of religion versus the faith.
And this is the thing about psychology, it’s not fully a medical science, though it has some medical applications because many are medical doctor’s who can prescribe medicine and all.
We are concerned about this great huge arena that is kind of like a religion.

Psychology in the church is getting people to think in a way that is NOT biblical, but is filled with biblical overtones!
Also, it is so important to Biblically warn pastors and the shepherds because they are the ones feeding the sheep.
The churches are where many lives are touched and some of the most critical lives too.

Pastor Jeff reminds us from Colossians 1:28 that the goal is to help people mature in Christ Jesus. “Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.” (Col. 1:27-28). Taking someone down the path of infancy to maturity is painful and hard. After someone is spiritually born, they must grow up to Maturity.

A relationship with Jesus Christ is the anchor of Biblical Counseling. We must look to His Word, the Bible. “For the word of God is living and active,” (Hebrews 4:12a). What the Bible says is true and authoritative for our lives. It is clear, trustworthy, inerrant (without error), and inspired by God. It truly is sufficient for our lives. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,” (Matthew 28:19a). We must look to Jesus Christ and point others to Him, the Wonderful Counselor.

After reviewing the two previous episodes, Pastor Jeff reminds us from 1 John 4:7 that biblical counseling is a ministry defined by divine love. In biblical counseling, we draw upon God’s love to seek God’s best for others. It can be difficult to fulfill God’s commands to love one another within the body of Christ. When God commands Christians to love one another and biblical counselors seek to help others grow in discipleship, God also supplies the power for Christians to fulfill this ministry. God’s love for us must mark our ministries within the body of Christ.

When Jesus cried out, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”, it is not that He didn’t know the ultimate answer.
He was quoting out of Psalm 22, which was the answer. He was being made sin for all of us, and the only way out of that was the faithfulness of the Father. “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit.” Everything depended on the faithfulness of the Father at that moment.
We can get into places in which it becomes so clear to us that there is no way to go on or no way out, unless the Father comes through.
Maybe some of you are there right now.
