This Sunday I wanted to see for myself if the hype of the prosperity gospel that Joel Osteen preaches was real. While he wasn't personally preaching, the messaging fit the expectation set and I can firmly conclude that what Lakewood Church offers is NOT the Gospel, but rather a false gospel. It sounds right and uses a lot of the same language but it is guilty of the sin of omission. It offers a glimpse of the gospel, but not the entirety which ultimately makes it a false Gospel. The day has come. 50 years of a horrible supreme court decision has come to an end. But we are far from seeing the end of abortion in our country. My Mother in Law, Alayna, has lived with Leukemia for the past 24 years. By a miracle 24 years ago she found herself in the right place at the right time and was able to get on medication that all but eliminated her cancer and took her from a prognosis of 6 months to live to 'as long as the medicine works.' That medicine has worked for 24 years allowing her to live a more or less normal life and see her kids grow up, get married, and even see her first grandchild. Her story is an incredible one that you just have to hear.

Today is a little more heavy, but necessary. I break down my stance on abortion and some of the common objections. In light of the Roe v Wade being officially announced today at some point I thought it necessary to revisit this topic for an entire episode. The last time I did that was Episode 40 and I know things have changed for me since then. I am open to a discussion and will do more follow up episodes as I believe this is the greatest evil of our time.

In this out of the ordinary schedule release I sit down with the right hand honyock, Connor, to discuss his contracting MS in his mid twenties and how that has changed his life, mostly for the better. Today is Oklahoma's Walk MS which is an event to raise awareness and money to help research the invisible disease that it is in hopes of one day finding a cure.
Connor was first diagnosed in 2017 and it rocked his world, but ironically mostly in a positive way. It opened up his perspective on life and how he was just skating through, apathetically. It caused him to take stock and choose to seek the good in life and since then has put him in a position of purpose in life with deeper connections and empathy. He is now using his experience to build out a business to help people who find themselves, as he would put it, living like "2016 Connor." His story is one of inspiring hope that no matter what life throws at you, good can be found out of the ashes of disaster.

My childhood friend Maddie got pregnant at 18 her senior year and what so many would see as a social and career death sentence turned out to actually be the biggest blessing and has not stopped them from having a happy family and pursuing the things they want. They have a powerful testimony that shows just because things don't happen the way you thought they would that you can still live a happy normal life.
Maddie did not pass the BAR this time around but she did better! She's one step closer to becoming a certified lawyer and mom of 4!

This is the debut of my new series covering stories of struggle that bring forth positive outcomes despite the difficulty. I sat down with my sister Rachel who was a freshman in 2020 when the world went sideways. The last two years have been a struggle for her, at times she was studying 40 hours a week for a single class. She has a unique situation where her brain doesn't just learn best a certain way but her brain only learns a certain way and schooling shifting to online inhibited her ability to learn the material severely. Despite all of that and almost giving up on school she made it through and will be applying for RT school this spring. She found that going through this made her stronger and showed her just how tough she is. She now feels prepared to take on whatever life can throw at her and has seen a significant increase in her confidence, something she has struggled with.

I've been hearing this tired argument of "what if Kyle was black?" and lucky for all of us that questions is loudly and clearly answered with an acquittal of a black man (Andrew Coffee IV) claiming self defense on the same day as Kyle's acquittal! With recent NBA news about several players being outspoken on their vaccine status and what I would say is acceptable reasons to not get vaccinated I felt it necessary to sit down and discuss the bigger picture around vaccine mandates. We are seeing people be demonized for simply raising basic questions and having reasonable conversations. These players are taking brave stances putting their lively hood on the lines for what they believe and I commend them.
