Thanksgiving week went about as expected for #mubb, unlike the rest of the Big East. We talk briefly about the two buy games completed by the team mostly so we can talk about a good thing (Damarius Owens) and a bad thing(Zaide injury). We then chat about the rest of the Big East which is super bad right now. While it's fun to cheer against our conference mates, they are performing so badly it might end up hurting Marquette a touch. We then turn to the week ahead, which is a doozy. First we talk about the road class against a top 5 opponent in Iowa State. This will absolutely be the toughest test for Marquette to date. Then, of course, is #BadgerHateWeek and we discuss bizzaro Wisconsin who is great offensively but so so defensively. Will this be the year that Shaka breaks through against Greg Gard? Well, the joys of college basketball generally and #mubb specifically is they zig when we zag. The team had a rough week losing one game that was somewhat expected and another that was definitely unexpected. Let's get right to it, not fouling when up 3 was a bad choice and not in a revisionist history sort of way, in a very real time everyone knew it sort of way. However, one bad choice also shouldn't sink the whole of year one for the Shaka era. Well, this was the first truly disappointing loss for #mubb in the young Shaka era. Marquette not only loses to noted rival, Wisconsin Badgers, but let's the second half get away from them. We talk about the Wisconsin game, what went wrong and what went not so wrong. We also make a compliment sandwich involving the team before pivoting to the week ahead.
