Repentance is a concept we don't always think about, but should on a regular basis. No one likes to admit they're wrong, but for the child of God, the opportunity to repent is a call to agree with God about our sin and fall upon His grace and forgiveness to restore our relationship with Him. In Part 1 of this series, Pastor Derek Holmes looks at how restoration and blessing cannot flow unless repentance is present.
In part 3 of a three part look at walking in the fear of the Lord, Pastor Chris looks at the importance of walking in the fear of God rather than in the fear of the wicked. The fear of the Lord drives out the fear of the wicked and puts us in the proper mindset for dealing with those opposed to the Lord.
In part 2 of a three-part series entitled, Walking In The Fear of the Lord, Pastor Chris Rieber looks at 5 positive results of having a healthy fear of God. It is a fear which results in an awareness of God's goodness to offer grace instead of condemnation, forgiveness instead of judgment and love instead of rejection. This should lead to a joyful desire to obey God, walk with Him daily, love Him more and worship Him continually.

Who is the call to mission work meant for? When we think of missions, we often think of a missionary who leaves home to go to another place to preach the Gospel. This is an accurate definition, but it is actually incomplete. It is only one aspect of a much larger realm of the heart of God. The call to mission work is actually for every believer. The Great Commission for all of us to take part in God's plan to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth so that all may hear the good news of salvation. In this message, special guest, Ian Corpuz looks at three verses from Acts 9 where the disciples helped Paul to escape the plot to arrest him by hiding him in a basked and lowering him down with ropes outside a window in the city walls. These disciples had a part in the mission work of Paul by being willing to "hold the ropes" so the gospel could continue to go forth through Paul's mission journeys.Pastor Ian, a missionary himself in his native land of the Philippines, looks at three truths regarding how all of us have an opportunity to hold the ropes of ministry. Some are in the basket willing to go. Others are those who hold the ropes, helping the work to continue through prayer and financial support, and through a mindset that understands there is no greater purpose than to see the gospel go forth to the nations.

How can I know that the Bible is true? This is a question that everyone comes to address in their faith journey. Every believer, no matter how new or mature encounters points of doubt as they walk by faith with Christ. In the first four verses of Luke's gospel, we are introduced to Dr. Luke and a man named Theophilus who was interested in the account of Christ, but needed some assurance of the validity of the claims of the Gospel. God is ok with our questions and can answer them all in truth.

The entire book of Romans rests on the foundation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In Chapter 4, Paul uses the example of two Old Testament Heroes to show us that salvation has always hinged on faith alone in the grace and mercy alone through Christ alone. While the saints of the Old Testament looked ahead to Jesus, we look back to Jesus and place the same saving faith in Him. But, what does it mean to "live by faith"? On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther nailed his famous 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany. This sparked the Protestant Reformation. The reformation was built on "5 Solas" of the faith... Salvation by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone for the glory of God alone as found in Scripture alone. What happens when we turn our back on God? Nothing good, that's for sure. What happens when God turns His back on us? We'll never know, because He never has and never will. In Romans, Paul talks about the judgment that falls on all who disregard God. We see a tragic statement three times, "God gave them over." In other words, we tell God to leave us alone, and He respects us enough to do just that. But, thankfully, God loves us too much to let us go. He is always there, working to redeem us even from ourselves. This message looks at how rejecting the Creator results in chaos and all forms of pain.
After Paul's introduction to the Romans, he gets right down to business. He begins to lay out an argument for why the Gospel is so important and so necessary. That reality is that we are all guilty of our sin before a Holy God. You have probably heard the phrase, "All Roads Lead To Rome." This was a mantra of many in the ancient world all the way into Medieval literature to note the fact that the Romans had developed a vast infrastructure and system of highways and roads to stretch to all points of their empire. It was a source of pride for all Romans, but a source of intimidation to all under their control. Paul wanted to travel those roads to get to the believers in Rome. "Caveat Emptor"! This is a Latin term that economists and business experts are familiar with. It means, "Let the buyer beware." If you have ever been suckered into a bad deal or made a bad purchase, you don't need to go to business school... you already understand this principle very well. In Matthew 16, Jesus has a very serious and genuine discussion with His disciples on what it means to be a disciple. It is almost carries a "Buyer Beware" tone to it. To follow Jesus is to share in His sufferings and to share in self-denial, sacrifice and cross-bearing. To follow Jesus is to live in the constant tension of colliding worlds. In this message, Pastor Derek Holmes looks at how, even though the Christ-life offers great promise, it also bears great difficulty. But, there is still no life greater than the disciple life.
In advertising, illusion is king. Whether it's selling hamburgers or lifestyle influencers, every image is doctored, filtered, airbrushed or manipulated for the greatest effect, all for the sake of projecting the "Good Life". In Matthew 16, Jesus has a completely opposite conversation with His disciples as he pitches what it will look like to continue following Him. The life of following Christ is not easy, beautiful or sugar-coated. But, it is the greatest life you can imagine.
We are bombarded with questions every single day. In many cases we don't even notice how many questions we face. Some are no big deal and don't have a whole lot of lasting effect, but there are some life-altering questions we must answer... "Do you take this person to be your lawfully wedded spouse?" Now that is a heavy question that can alter your life! In Matthew, Jesus asks His disciples a question we all must answer. He asks, "Who do you say that I am?" In this message, Pastor Derek Holmes looks at why this question is the most important question ever asked that we must answer.
When Jesus gets involved, things change. Jesus healed and performed many miracles through the Gospel accounts. In this account, we see Jesus heal a paralyzed man who had no hope to walk. We see some life-changing truths from this account which we must apply to all our lives to help us see that spiritually, we are all lame and paralyzed with no hope apart from Jesus.

Is it a philisophical state? How do I get freedom? What if freedom is not something to win or gain, but something to be found? Jesus told us where real freedom is found in John 8.
1 Corinthians 13 is commonly known as, "The Love Chapter." Love is the running theme of this powerful chapter in Paul's letter to the Corinthian believers. But, Love is the running theme of the entire Bible. It is the Love of God given to us through Christ which we must share with one another. Jesus said, we will be known by our love. In a modern, cynical, skeptical society ruled by selfish ambition, it is very easy to lose our focus on the pursuit of love. In the game of golf, there's a wonderful gift of grace called the Mulligan. A Mulligan is a do-over -- a second chance when you blow a shot. In real life, it would be great to have a mulligan. Scripture tells us that success is better approached like an archer who uses precision focus and finesse.
