In this episode, I break down the challenges and successes of this past season.  I discuss what it was like to train during Covid for an unknown return to play, logging 30 minutes a night in the AHL on a Conditioning Stint, and trying to manage family life and hockey in a pandemic. I also touch on the difference between AHL and NHL, and the turning point in the season which allowed for some strong on-ice performances in the later stretch. "Charlie's gonna get to see you play." An episode looking back at last season, so I look forward to the next.

Jana and I talk about how she developed as a way to bring equipment free training to the masses. Jana demystifies some of the elements of yoga that can be daunting to people and made the physical and spiritual experience that is Joga more approachable.

We also talk at length about her own wellness journey after a severe health scare involving a car accident, on top of the responsibilities still involved with being a single Mom and entrepreneur. She leads with empathy, with passion for Joga's ability to foster holistic growth, while also allowing the universe to work its magic, presenting to Jana the answers she needs when she looks for them. This is one of my favorite podcasts to date, simply great conversation and connection in a time where this is particularly hard to come by.

Interested in JOGA? JOGA Coaching Certification is available for 20% Off for all listeners using Promocode "CONNOR20". Visit https://jogaworld.com/become-a-coach/ for more information.

Sometimes I meet a person and know instantly I have found a long lasting friend. Dicky and I share that bond. As short lived teammates I saw a warrior in Rich Clune, a member of the tribe of those who feel fire in their belly. He lends his shoulders to those he plays with so that teammates may stand on them to play taller, to be taller.

He is the greatest locker room DJ I have ever known, a true alpha, and a man who stands confidently in front of his failures of yesterday. My life is more rich having met and played with Dicky. He supported me in one of the most important growth periods of my own career. A true reason I was able to ascend to the Toronto Maple Leafs from my run as a Toronto Marlie.

Please check his page to hear more about him in his film "Hi, My Name Is Dicky" as he shows his battles within himself to shake the grip of drugs and alcohol.

Marnie Mcbean and I talk water-feel, heart rates for extended periods of time above 200 bpm, Olympic nerves, and the gift of finding something you love to do. She is first off, an extraordinary story teller, with an extraordinary story to tell. Marnie, a 3 time Gold Medalist, shares with me in this episode about the grace and grit of rowing, how she loved a sport so cruel to the human body. We go into goal setting and visualization while clarifying all the imagining in the world is empty without providing the back bone base of hard work. . I learned so much from this Olympic Champion and am grateful we got to cherish and celebrate Marnie's story together. Happy Canada Day to those who celebrate, I enjoyed my time north of the border thoroughly, and figured it only appropriate to feature a Canadian on the show this week. I look forward to your comments. #FeedYourFire and join me to become a more #CuriousCompetitor

Karissa Kouchis shares together with the Connor Carrick Podcast her journey from being my neighbor from down the block in Orland Park, to becoming a national speaker for Tony Robbins. Her inner fire, ability to self start, and desire to balance her high performance with an appreciation for the process is contagious.

KK is a close friend who I check in personally with to transition from scarcity mindset to a more abundant appreciate, she discusses her teachings around producing value for others above all other goals as a personal nonnegotiable. Karissa is on her way to challenge Tony and his impact on the world, and I guarantee you leave this podcast invigorated and ready to challenge any limiting frameworks you may be experiencing right now.

In this episode we welcome Ottawa Senators Forward, Connor Brown.

I loved Connor Brown as a teammate and still do as a friend and an easy Catan Opponent. He's competitive, detailed, a true professional on ice. Off the ice he's a great person, dog dad, and it's been fun to grow as young pros to go our separate ways, but remain friends.

Brownie's story as a late bloomer, his versatility as a player, and his drive still to become more in the NHL as a player and room leader leaves many a lesson in our conversation. Flat out, I enjoyed our time together, I always do, and whatever handicap Browntown says he is-take 2 off it....

Thank you Brownie for an awesome time recording together.

In this Episode, we welcome Mitch Marner. He's an elite player of course. Well documented. But he's a better friend than you know. I love em for his empathy as a teammate, for his passion as a Player, and how hard he works as a Dancer. Join us to learn some of the lessons I got to in my time with Mitchy.

We discuss his journey into the NHL and being selected by his hometown team in the draft. We discuss his dedication to charity work and his love for giving back to the community. We talk about the pride he has for being a Maple Leaf and what it meant to become an Assistant Captain this year. He lends some advice to young players and shares his battles with naysayers. He discusses his future career goals, including winning a Selke. Truly a great conversation. I hope you enjoy this one.

In this episode, we are joined by Toronto Maple Leafs Forward #11, Best selling Author of three Children's Books, Founder of Eleven Gaming/SoaR Gaming - Zach Hyman.

We were almost teammates at University of Michigan, as I ended up going to the OHL. Played our first Toronto Maple Leaf game together, with it being Zach's first game in the NHL as well, in his hometown at that. Played in a pivotal playoff run for both of our careers as Toronto Marlies, as we were teammates thereafter for two Playoff Seasons as Maple Leafs following.

Zach has a well roundedness to his pursuits of passion and business that is uncommon in our Sport. His consistency as a player and person is admirable and made him a Leader in every locker room we’ve shared. I am lucky to have played with him, and lucky too to reminisce together in this 4th episode of the Podcast.

In this episode, we are joined by 2018 Hockey Hall of Fame Inductee, 4-time Olympic Gold Medalist, 2019 Order of Hockey in Canada recipient - Jayna Hefford.

For Team Canada she was dominant for nearly two decades. She embodies hard work, conviction, passion for our sport, and a will to win. I truly appreciated our conversation together, loved some of her celebration stories, and left inspired by her passion to commit to being better than day before. I am excited to continue to talk to a wide range of Leaders I look up to, and Jayna certainly has a Resumé to speak of how to be successful from experience.

In this episode, we are joined by Canadian sports journalist Elliotte Friedman. He currently serves as a hockey reporter for Sportsnet and as an insider for the NHL Network. He is a regular panelist on CBC's Hockey Night In Canada. It felt important to have Elliotte join us early on in this process, as he was one of the people who gave me the nudge to start this podcast in the first place. His encouragement meant a lot. Join us as we discuss each other's journey to success and his rise in media, our relationship with mindfulness, how we can be a positive light during this dark time, and further discovery of where the Connor Carrick Podcast is going.
