Rex Andrew Walters is a former professional basketball player and assistant coach. Previously Walters served as the head coach of the NBA G League Grand Rapids Drive. Previously, he was the men's basketball coach at the University of San Francisco and Florida Atlantic University. Walters played college basketball at Northwestern and Kansas and played professionally for ten years, including seven seasons in the NBA, from 1993 to 2003. He is a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity, Community Volunteer with Youth Sports and advocate for the advancement within the Urban Community. Since taking over for a struggling football program in 2017, McNair has battled adversity of restructuring a program. Fastforward to 2020 McNair now has his Paladins prepared to make a push for a 8A playoff spot this upcoming season.

Athletes Connection: Selwyn Brown Episode
Former University of Miami safety Selwyn Brown played on some of the great teams Hurricane football history. A graduate of Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, FL, Brown came to UM in 1983 along with his high school teammate tight end Charles Henry. After sitting out as a red shirt during the 1983 national championship season, Brown became an integral part of a Canes secondary nicknamed "Bennie and the Jets" led by All American Bennie Blades and included corner-backs Tolbert Bain and Donald Ellis. He became a starter in 1985 and shared playing time with Darrell Fullington at strong safety. Brown holds the UM record with a 100 yard interception return for a touchdown against Boston College in 1985. During his 3 years as a starter, the Canes were 33-3 and national champions in 1987.

Lorenzo Williams is an American professional basketball player standing at 6'2", he plays the point guard position. Williams a graduate of Killeen Ellison High School went to study at Rice University, where he played for the Rice Owls from 2003, in the Western Athletic Conference of the NCAA. The Owls, who were not represented in the national NCAA finals since 1970 managed to qualify for the National Invitation Tournament in 2004 and 2005 season, in which they each were eliminated in the first round. Williams is a 13 year professional who recently played with Neptūnas Klaipėda during the 2019-20 season.
