Welcome back everybody to episode four of the Harpoon Pest Control podcast. Glad to be here this week, we got a couple friend invites from this podcast, which is always nice. And we look forward to work with a lot of people in the future on this podcast. As we said before, we got some future plans with that. But this week, we’re going to talk about termites. So the reason why we’re talking about termites right now is because we are about one month away from termite season. Termite season starts about in this in the state of PA starts around March. So it’s a good time to talk about termites, how you can prevent termites is what we’re talking about. Um, this is a big season, a money making season for realtors sellers, because people that sell homes, buyers normally want termite inspections, and termite treatments. And this is the time where Realtors really sell houses the spring, summer time. So termite is one of the things that we should really talk about right now. And how you can prevent them. If you’re a homeowner quits, you want to get that you want to get that started force.
Yeah, so, you know, like he was saying, um, this time of year is normally when we get a lot of requests for for homeowners or relatives to do termite inspections and stuff like that. And I know in our office, just as week, we got a few requests we went out. And even in a month of February, you know, we found active termites. So it’s definitely a situation where you can have a need for a termite service just about any time of the year. Because if termites have a wood source or food source to eat on, they’ll just, they’ll just do it, they’ll just kind of constantly do it. So today, we’re going to just briefly talk about some things that you can do to prevent termites. And you know, if you have a new home, or if you have a home that you’ve been living in for a long time already, there are some things that you can actually do to protect your home for termites. And that’s, that’s what that’s what we’re going to talk about in this.
Yeah. So the first thing that we’re going to talk about is water. What attracts termites, so termites is attracted to water and is not regular raindrop water, we’re talking about heavy amounts of money moisture around your home, how does that happen? Now, you may have a concrete surrounding on the side of your house, maybe all around your house, you may have grass or whatever, that does not matter. They are subterranean, they travel underground and if water is getting through your concrete against your house, or water is pouring into your soil, it can be a situation where termites you know, come towards your home and it attracts them. So the number one thing number one thing you can do to prevent termites one of the things is have good gutters and good downspouts if you have a flat roof, the water got to go somewhere, right? So it comes down the downspout and then the city a lot of it goes into the sewer pipe was strengthened to the storm drains of the city. However, a lot of them pipes are starting to go bad and you’ll see a lot of people just downspout running against the house running on top of the concrete or it runs to the ground and it just goes into nowhere and it just goes through the concrete. But when that happens, that’s what causes the risk of termites because a lot of the basements have within or 100% of the basement have wooden floor joists. So it would be good to walk around your home and see okay, where’s my downspout going? Does it come down and go into a sewer line actually goes into the sewer or does it come down and have an elbow one and bends and points away from the house? Or does it just come straight down and just hit the ground? Alright, the last one is what you don’t want. The last one is what you don’t want water attracts termites. If you have puddling around your house and you have very soft mud around your house then that’s a sign of That? gutters, right? Yeah,
Yep, absolutely. So along with that, those that moisture buildup that can happen that can creep inside of crawl spaces that can start coming into the basement area. Any place like that the moisture is going to cause an issue, what happens that moisture, it keeps a set the soil damp. And that’s just a conducive condition for for termites. Along with that, around your house, you have to look for areas that are food sources could potentially be food sources for termites, like any type of dead trees rotted away wood around your home. Sometimes you see trees that have been removed, the stump has been left in the ground, the stump is rotted is it’s wood is soft wood, it gets damp. And that is like a buffet for termites, termites are attracted to that type of stuff. And they will eventually make their way right to your house, if your house is in close proximity, something like that. Also, along with stumps being left over, if there’s any type of firewood that you have, you want to try to store your firewood about 20 feet away from your house and keep that firewood off the foundation walls of your of your home, you want to definitely do that because they are attracted to them wood termites they forge randomly, you know, in the ground looking for food sources and, and that’s one of the things that they will they will find. Along with that, I guess it’s as important to know, um, you know, because we’re coming up on like you said in the opening, you know, in about a month is normally a season and you start to see people start calling in to start reporting that they see in the flyers or swarmers and stuff, which is like the first sign of, of termites as well. But you know, as long as that’s had that’s happening outside the home, not too bad. But if that happens in anywhere inside the house, definitely want to have you know, come and take a look at it,
you got you got ants with wings around your window and a month of March, you may be you’ll see ants all crowded up around a window sill that’s the Queen’s trying to get out and migrate to another food source. So if you’re wake up one day, and you see just a bunch of ants with wings on them all around your window, they always go towards the sunlight. And they’re trying to get out, give someone a call. You’re beyond the prevention point at that point. Yeah, one of the things also Quincy is that how much they don’t, they don’t like submit, they don’t like rocks. So one of the things that I did, and I’m gonna release a video, I took a video of me doing this, I built a deck last year so I live in an area where soil all around, I don’t have concrete as soy I’m out here in Aston PA and I have soil all around my house. And I built the deck of my of the house and I actually poured stones in the in the foundation of the of the footers that I put the deck you know put the wood in the dirt I put summit in the dirt all around the deck, I’m going to get big rocks in the soil and then I treated that soil with our with a treatment product that we use for the customers with this kind of an invention type thing. I dug out the dirt, and I filled that dirt with that treatment, put the rocks in there. Rocks also help prevent termites. So if you have soil you can actually dig out around your house and put rocks in there now for attack for us. Rocks is the enemy because we tried to treat underground and you’re so right, are they but they do help prevent termites rot. So that’s another thing that you can do in some rocks is a very good look. You know people use rocks to decorate around their home. So you know stones in the soil. It’s a very good thing that you can do it so let’s say you get termites we’re like I said you’re past the prevention stage. You have termites. And maybe you see these flying ants you know we come out and what we do is we do a subterranean treatment which means if you have concrete we drone to the ground if you have soil, we go into the soil We go back 24 inches down, and we put a fluid we give a year warranty. But we can tell you that nobody has called us outside of that warranty says I’ve got termites again. And we’ve been doing this a while, we use a good treatment that we use, and it lasts a long time, especially if you fix your water issues as Quincy brought out, dead wood, those things, it lasts a really long time. And if you are working with a real estate, you plan on selling your home this summer, spring summer, it would be good to get ahead of it. Because what happens is termite or I should say pest control companies when they know you getting a loan, or if they know you selling your house, they will rake you over the coals charging way more than what it should cost. Because they know you have a realtor. So those are some of the things to keep in mind. When it comes to termites you don’t want to you you can prevent them. But let’s be clear, you cannot treat them, you can prevent them. But if you get them, don’t try to treat them yourself. Don’t go get no cans of anything. Call a professional, you can’t get rid of them yourself. They are they are in your wood under your ground. So you definitely should get a professional treatment. And that’s pretty much it kill anything regarding enough time, I just wanted to bring up
I mean, there’s plenty of other things we could talk about. But maybe we will do is because it seems like everyone wants to know how to prevent, prevent, prevent. So we have some other things that we can bring out, maybe we’ll do it on another podcast or later video that just shared other things that we can make mention of and talk about, as far as the as far as prevention, you know, but that is the most important thing, that if there is a termite problem, and, you know, is having it done professionally, which you know, we’ll leave it we’ll leave it at that. But

I know, pest control isn’t normally something that’s not on everyone’s radar for career choice, but it can be really rewarding. I know we’ve been doing this for a very, very long time. But now it’s time to take things to the next level and grow. So we’re looking for good people. I mean, if you feel that you have some skills and abilities you can bring we’d be more than happy to talk to you don’t need to have any background and experience you just have to have a somewhat of outgoing personality, you know, because this really is, is a service business is a home service business. So you’re always dealing with people. And that’s pretty much what it is, you know, this is his people run this industry people run this article, summer base, and that’s pretty much all the skills you need to have. What’s up, everybody, we’re back again. It’s the week before March and we are getting into the termite season, we’re getting into the season of bugs where, basically I’m able to pay some bills soon. But uh, we’re looking forward to springtime, you can see the time are really changing. Again, this week we’re going to talk about we’re still going to talk about termites. And why do they swarm? Why did you see these little ants with wings crowding around your window. And as it gets a little warmer, as Quincy is going to talk about some, we’re going to talk about these ads that you may see, you may see him that you might not even know you have them, but you may see them probably get a little warmer, high 50s. Low 60s, Quincy, you can start us off with that brother. Yeah, so and I should introduce you first. Hey, Quincy now.
Yeah, so man, it’s so every, every everyone knows that, especially in a pest industry, or if you’ve owned a home for a long time you’ve ever experienced, like Bernie said, it’s its wings, that’s the first thing people say, when they see swarmers. They say, Oh, it looks like ants with wings. And that’s something that, you know, has to be determined whether it’s actually an or if it’s a termite. But around this time of year, that’s why we chose to do this podcast is because around this time of year, especially going into March, April, people call most pest control companies, their phones will start ringing off the hook because they have people calling in about termite swarmers are or what appears to be Ansible wings. And just to give an idea of what it looks like. This is a basically what it is why did they swarm why this time of year is the swarms are happening, like once once a year, and is normally in the spring, it could happen again later on in the season. But this is what people see, typically, is they look like ants with wings. And this is this is the call we’ll get you know people say though I have these ants are flying around like Verner said around the window around a doorway. But why does this happen? That’s that’s, that’s like the most important thing. So we’re gonna establish why this happens in this episode, and then some other episodes we have, we can go further into what happens with turn my stuff. So the first reason why this happens, because as was mentioned earlier, the weather gets gets warm, it starts to get warm, you have a couple consistent days of 50 degrees, 60 degrees. And there’s different things involved barometric pressure and all that stuff that causes these termite swarms. That kind of happen, and normally happens like in the afternoon, or sometimes in the early evening. And the number two reason, really, which is one that should alert a home owner is that if they have a swarm, it’s termite swarm, when the original colony has reached maturity has reached capacity. So a lot of times termite colonies will swarm once you have about maybe three to five years old termite colony that would cause them to to do that to swarm their whole purpose is to get out to the light and go out into the grass and reproduce and make more colony. So the reason why I don’t know why they’re attracted to light, but that’s typically what happens. So there are going to be around a window or doorway. Sometimes it’ll happen outside your house, you know, in the the late evening, still in the daylight hours late evening. And number three basically had a purpose of swarmers is to create new columns. That’s to create new columns, which can never be a good thing. If you own a home, right. And you hit you see a termite swarm. So the next slide presentation or the next slide, rather, I’ll live burning it break this down, but it is what it means for you as a home owner. If you see if you see swarming activity inside your house, like what does that actually mean for you? And that’s the most important thing you see outside in a tree stone. Nobody cares, you know, but If you have swarmers inside your home, what does that mean? So write it down.
Yeah, in the case that you got an infestation, um, 111 guy that we did last season, the termite season, he obviously was not able to identify that it was termites. And what he did was he just took out some, you know, I don’t know what kind of cannon spray he took out, but he sprayed them, and he killed the ants, that’s not going to get rid of your termites, I just want to be clear on that. What you’re seeing is kind of the bugs that don’t eat the wood, you’re the the buzzers eating the wood is telling you what up, you know. So you don’t want to just spray them, that’s just not, that’s not even a majority of your turn lights. Um, it’s good to know that they don’t bite human flesh. So you don’t have to be scared. Um, you know, if you have children or something in the house, they’re not really interested in you anyway. But it does mean that they’re eating up the wood and your house, it doesn’t exactly mean that you need a carpenter all the time. Because they don’t eat fast. Subterranean termites don’t eat that fast, but they are eating. And so you want to get them as a professional out immediately, you don’t want to take it into another season. Or any other mistake that’s made is you don’t want to say, well, they’ll die off in a winter. That’s not true, either. You know, they’re they don’t die off in a winter, they might go dormant for a little bit, but you’re still gonna have them that following year. And so those those are the things that it means it means that you really just want to have us or someone come out and do a termite job, you, if you have soil around your house, we dig a trench, we treat it down in the soil, roughly about two feet down, or so. And we treat it from underground, because they’re traveling underground, if you have concrete around your house, we drove half inch holes, we treat under the concrete, we patch the hole and you’re good to go. So those and then there’s some of the things you need to see the wood but that’s that’s the hardest job part of the job. As far as drilling concrete. So,
yeah, and those swarmers that swarming activity, you know, it’s really alarming to people when they see it happen inside their house. Because it’s scary, I mean, you got bugs like it, you know, you could have 1000s of them appear to be 1000s of them. So, and that can actually go on for for a little while. So you can have a swarm err, that will occur for like maybe 30 or 40 minutes. So if you could just imagine for 3040 minutes, something, you know, 1000s of bugs and insects, you’re shooting out of what appears to be some type of hole or, or crevice or something like that, that that would be scary. So some practical things that a homeowner could do because until the professional gets there, it’s or companies is that you could take a vacuum and you could just suck them up, we need to set the bugs up, or some warm, some warm, soapy water and just spray them that will kill them because they don’t really have a lot of fighter in them and all that they come out of these shelter tubes and they will discard their wings. So you’ll see a lot of wings and stuff like that laying around. And you can just clean them all up. But you know, as Bernard was saying, you know, when you have a termite swarming activity like that, you know, it’s more than likely as Tom to have your home you know, treated with a with a conventional style treatment to lay that barrier in the ground and eliminate that that problem. So that’s gonna be how that works.
Yeah, so we pretty much appreciate everybody for listening. Um, you know, hopefully this problem won’t happen to you from a business aspect of it. We this podcast really is geared towards you homeowners, but also towards if you’re a Realtor you know we I know we got some friends that’s Realtors is getting into the buying season. I think we talked about this briefly on our on the last podcast that one before can keep up but yeah, if you know real estate companies, we deal with real estate companies that termite inspections is required to the mortgage companies if you get an A loan, a termite inspection is required in one of the parts problem that we’re seeing is that they know you’re getting a loan, a lot of these companies know you’re getting a loan with they know you’re selling. And, you know, they they gouge the price because they know, you’re kind of desperate to get it done. And so we have relationships with realtors, to let them know how we do it, and that we don’t, we’re not gouging the price to get into these good relationships. We’re really sure. So have your realtor, listen, and you know, you’re doing a PA area, Delaware jersey, give us a call, you know, we come out, do an inspection. And we were honest with people, we take photos, we’ll show you the damage the termite tubes, we’ll show you what that is, we didn’t have that picture actually on the slide. Yeah, yeah, for sure. That’s one of the things I’m you know, we, we’ve done plenty of is plenty of termite stuff, plenty of termite inspections, one of the questions we get hit with a lot too is, you know, people will call and request that we go out, take a look at termite damage, and try to assess whether or not is active, that’s really easy. Most of the time we get out there, you know, it’s old damage is really not active, you know, or sometimes it’s water damage, or sometimes it’s water damage. So that’s a whole nother podcast, because just just the things that you have to look for for was water damage, and what’s termite damage? They’re very simple. They’re very simple. And there have been, like you talked about, he talked about price gouging and stuff like that, we’ve seen plenty of times where we’ve gone behind other companies, and realtors and home property owners have been told, Oh, that’s termite damage, when we clearly can see, that is water. Yeah, that has been water, right, or water damage or something like that, you know, so it’s, it’s knowing what to look for, you know, and then I was gonna say, I was gonna oh, about the termite, the termite damage itself, whether or not as active sometimes, you know, it’s tough as an as a pest control company, when you go behind you see, you find previous damage from termites, it’s kind of hard to sign off on that report and say, oh, is not active, or it doesn’t need to be treated more, so it doesn’t need to be treated, because you don’t know what treatment was done there. So even though I may find termite damage, and it’s not active, for us as a company, it does, it means didn’t need to be treated, because we don’t know what treatment was done five years ago, 10 years ago, and it’s kind of hard to say when so I just something I wanted to clarify, because that’s a question we always get, can you go out there, they found termites they found a termite to? Can you just let me know if it’s active or not? All right, it’s, uh, it’s not active. But, you know, my vision is a dream. Yeah. So
basically, what Quincy is talking about is, the reason why you have to play Go on the side of caution is insurance. So any termite company pest control company do the job. It’s in short, the work is in short, so if the mortgage company finds termites within a year later, now we got to go back out for free, you know, so it’s an insurance thing. So that’s why if there’s damage, and you know, companies tend to go on the side of caution and treat it, which is why gouging is important. Because if they find out damage or whatever, and they say, Listen, I’m not enjoying this. I’m not I’m not putting I’m not signing off on this. Oh, that’s gonna be $2,500. You know, so they just trying to take advantage of the situation. But we but that’s, yeah, that’s what we got on termites. Anything else? You got Quincy?

Hey, this is Quincy, we’re Harpoon Pest Solutions. And this is the Harpoon Pest Solutions podcast. So today, the question is, should I spray for bugs in the fall, you know, the weather gets a little cooler, it gets a little bit more damp. And it appears that there’s less, you know, insect activity. And so a lot of people wonder, you know, whether or not they should even be bothered, or you know, should bother spraying?
Well, yes, you definitely want to continue to spray and use some type of residual application, even in the fall, especially on the outdoors. There are bees, cockroaches, beetles, spiders, and fleas, which can all still be very, very active in the fall. And then aside from spray, and I mean, of course, you want to do do things to protect the house from invaders like mice, and rats. But in the years that I’ve been doing this, I can tell you, I’ve seen like, the amount of spider activity just goes up.
And like, you know, the October, you know, November, in the early fall, it seems like fleas, we get a lot of calls for fleas and those type of insects. And then there’s bees, which, surprisingly, are now it’s even like, the middle of November, and our office will still get calls for yellow jackets, which are, you know, necessarily a nasty business idea, we can still get calls for yellow jackets. So there’s a lot of things that still remain active, you have some pests that are looking to enter into the home and they want to overwinter they want to stay inside of those protective conditions over the winter. So that when you know they can go out and do what they do in nature as the winter is over, but sometimes they’ll find these places in your crawlspace in your attic or some other part of your house. So spray in for bugs and insects in the fall is a good ideal is a good idea. So whoever your pest control company is, you know they should be doing that for you. They should be removing the webs from around the ears of your of your house and they should be taking care of the perimeter of the house around the doors and windows to make sure that those critters are not, you know, taken over over your house.

Hey, this is Quincy with Harpoon Pest Solutions. And today I just want to talk about the use of snap traps to control mice. Now, it’s the fall, October, November, that time of year when you will see something shooting across the floor in your kitchen. Unfortunately, that can happen a lot of times, you know, happens in the evening when you walk into the kitchen and get something out of the fridge and you see something shoot from underneath the table and goes under the refrigerator. And the first thing a lot of people go reach for snap traps. And snap traps are one of the best ways to get rid of things that could be crawling around your floor, especially four legged critters. But the only problem is that over my over the years that I’ve been in the business of odd times, people will complain about snap traps not working. But really what I found is that when you see how sometimes home owners place these traps, they’re in a wrong position.
And that’s a lot of the reason why snap traps don’t work for a lot of homeowners. So this a brief reminder to make the placements in a way so that, they work for you. snap traps are great. We use them all the time. But just knowing where to place the traps is good. So one of the things that I noticed that people will place traps wherever they’ve seen the mice, or if it’s a rat, you know, and they just kind of like they put the bait to traps and they just sit them out, you know, in hopes that the rodent is just going to come up to the trap. And then you know everything is going to work like that. And it just doesn’t work like that. So you don’t want to play some out away from the from the from the floor, but you want to or out in the middle of the floor I should say but you want to kind of like move those traps closer to the to the wall, where rodents like to run they like to run right alongside the walls. And that’s how they that’s how they travel and navigate through through through rooms and spaces. And that is what you want to do you want that trigger part to be up against the wall. And when that trigger, you want to bate it, you can bate it with a number of things. You can bate it with nut butter, peanut butter, chocolate, cotton, dental floss, anything like that. And really my favorite go to really is the peanut butter, the peanut butter seems to work, they seem to go further every time. And we just kind of smear it on we just you know we don’t we don’t want to feed the mice, but we just want to smear it on we want them to get that scent. And we want them to get their nose and that trigger and boom. And that’s it you know so whenever you can make a good placement then you know that that’s going to work for you. So I just had a couple of pitch illustrations here. This way you have a point of reference, you can look at it as something that you could do to help you you know, take care of whatever is running across the floor and that House want to get it get it out of there okay to not paying rent they have to go. Hey there, this is Quincy with Harpoon Pest Solutions . And this is the Harpoon Pest Solutions Pest Control podcast. Today, I’m going to answer the question what happens when mice die in the walls? And I just want to start by saying, I’ve been on an exterminator now for almost 20 years, and we’re asked this question all the time, we get this question all the time. And it’s really, it’s a concern, because people want to know, hey, listen, you know, what am I going to deal with? If they’re just dying in the walls? You know, when they asked, you know, what, what control message Are you going to use? And we tell them? Well, we, you know, we have to use poison, you know, for your particular situation, you know, we have to use some poison, we have to use this with these dead. So they want to know, right away, you know, what was what’s going to happen, you know, is it going to stink? Is it going to smell? My last exterminator told me that you guys could use something that will make them go outside for water, and they’ll look for something to drink, and then they’ll die outside?
So the answer to that is no. That’s not going to happen. You know, there’s no such thing as anything that a mouse is going to eat, or any rodent for that matter is going to eat a poison and didn’t make them go out in search of water, and in die, so exterminators came up with that, that that lie. And then we’ll tell that to people so that they wouldn’t they, I guess they may have thought that they were going to talk themselves out of a sale, if they just told people that the God’s honest truth. And the truth of the matter is, that can happen if mice eat poison, they can die inside a wall void into inside of a places and accessible that you can’t get to. And you’re going to have to deal with an unpleasant odor for 48 to 72 hours. And that is the truth. You may have to deal with depending on what type of year it is, depending on the time of year it is you may have to deal with flies. Because you know, once you have those my estate that if they dies, organic matter, you know, it’s breaking down, decaying, decomposing, and all this other stuff that happens in nature, when something dies, something live in dies, you know, the flies come out of nowhere, and it just takes over. So that could happen. And you have to deal with flies for about, I would say three days, five days, six days, maybe flies older. Those are all possibilities if an exterminator has to use poison to control mice now.
Most exterminators will rely heavily on mechanical traps, so that the homeowner doesn’t have to deal with issue of unwanted odor, no one wants to have to deal with that. So the whole purpose in using the mechanical traps or snap traps initially, so that they can arrest the issue fast, and then come back on follow up, and then pull those dead runes out of there so that you don’t have to deal with runes. But here’s the thing. Some problems are more severe than others. And sometimes you have to take strong aggressive action to control mice. And what that means is that sometimes you have to use baits and you have to use poisons. And unfortunately, that’s one of the things that that can happen now. Like I said, I’ve been doing this for 20 years. And Has that happened. Yeah, it has. But more so what’s happened more, so more. So we’re able to, you know, really quickly, you know, control issues with traps. And I can almost count the times on one hand where things have died in the walls and you know, we just couldn’t get to it. And, you know, it was it was, you know, the quality of life for that customer was not good for like, a couple days. But I just don’t think that people should be lied to and it was a little annoying to kind of go behind. You know, other other exterminators and you hear people say, Oh, well the other exterminator said, they just look for something to drink. And I’d say, you know what, ma’am? Sorry, that that’s just not true, that’s not going to happen and we use poison, here’s what’s going to happen, there will be, there will be odor, we’ll be seeing the air, when you walk past this part of your house, whatever rodent is inside a wall, the air is not going to be as fresh. So the other thing is that people, you know, have actually found dead rodents just laying there, dead, right? on the kitchen floor. That happens too, because it’s like, when the poison starts to kick in, and it starts, you know, killing the mice or the mouse, they just kind of get sluggish, and just kind of, you know, they just kind of get sluggish and they don’t, they don’t feel well, I need, they just collapse right there. So that that’s normally how it happens. And sometimes collapsing, right there could mean right in the middle of your floor. Or, you know, it’s just some other strange spot. Or maybe you might even come in on the mouse as is dying, you know, you, you might stomp your foot and expect him to like Dart off and under the underneath the stove. But he just doesn’t do that you might not be flipping, he’s just looking like lethargic. And, and just slow in it, you know, that’s the poison taken over. You know, that’s the results of a really good and complete service. You know, that’s what you want, you want to see stuff working, if you’ve paid a pest control professional to come. You want to see stuff working, you know. So that’s what happens when, when a mouse You know, when after service, a mouse dies inside the walls, you can get an odor that can happen. My best recommendation is get some incense or some candles be ready to burn for two, three days. Mice need wall voids to live in, they need that warmth. They need this security in a shelter. And that’s normally where they are. And just like you and me, if we are out, we eat something and we don’t fill in all that great. What do we do? We’re looking to go back home, right? So same thing happens with mice and Mickey is out and he’s eat something that, you know we put down for him, he may start to like, you know, just after about three days, you know, he he takes that first bite after about three days off, while he’s not feeling that great. He’s looking to go home and he could die or he can make it home. And that being inside of the wall or, you know, some area some crevice that you know you just can’t get to without doing a full renovation on your kitchen or some other part of the house. And he just gets there and he’s dead. He dies. That’s what happened. You can get that that I want to order and so is a nasty odor. But it only lasts a little while. Hello everyone, this is Quincy with Harpoon Pest Solutions. And this is the Harpoon Pest Solutions Pest Control podcast. Today, I just wanted to briefly talk about some things that a homeowner would do to pest proof their home. It’s very basic things too, but each season is necessary to pretty much go through your home and just inspect for some, some basic things just to look out for, especially if you are moving into a new home or if it’s your first year there. If you’re not too familiar with the with the home, you may want to have it you know, inspected or inspected yourself. So the day is going to be some things that you could actually do yourself, the first thing you want to do is check out the attic. And the ethical tell you a lot of things about that house, if there’s been an issue with mice, squirrels, raccoons, there could be things possibly already living in the attic, but you really won’t know until you actually you know, go into the attic with a powerful light. And just just take a look. It’ll tell you things about just the history of the house, or droppings there there could be even evidence that birds have gotten in stinging insects and other in other different kinds of insects. You could even see evidence of that those things would be all found in the attic. So the attic will tell you a lot of a lot of things about was making its way into your house. Right down from the attic underneath the attic is of course the bedroom. Now the bedroom is a place where not too many, you know common household pests will be found. But when you go through your bedroom and you’re changing your your sheets and your your bedding and stuff like that, you want to be on the lookout for bedbugs. anymore, bedbugs can pretty much be picked up anywhere, you know, um, you know, it used to be a time when you could kind of trace back to maybe had some home visitors that come over, maybe went on vacation somewhere, and then you brought something back, you know, maybe 10 years ago, 15 years ago was easy to kind of trace if you had an issue or how you got it, but now, not so much. It seems like you could be just about anywhere in any public place. And you know, transmission can happen, you can pick up a bedbug, you know, at any time, so really what you’re looking for when you change the sheets and pillowcases and stuff like that you’re looking for droppings, and cast skins and even actual bedbugs themselves. Now in an adult bedbug is probably going to be about the size of an apple seat. And you’ll know when you see it that it just doesn’t belong there and your bed, the droppings kind of look like Ink Spots or ink marks. The best way I can describe it is like someone just took like a Sharpie pen or like a ballpoint pen and just let the ink bleed out into the fabric sometimes you’ll see like, you know, sometimes it’ll have like a across pattern or something like that, you know, anything like that is definitely a flag should go up. And you may want to have your you know, your place inspected by a professional. Moving on down through the house to the outside of the house, you have the porch. Now a lot of people like to keep plants and you know little bit of nature out there on the porch, and that’s totally fine. But you want to make sure that you’re checking the pots thoroughly. And that the the potting soil isn’t just like full of like water sometimes in that, in that when you hit water in that potting soil. Things breed in that, you know, all kinds of sometimes nets other insects can breed in that potting soil. So you just want to be mindful that you know, take a look at the leaves, you know, remove any dead leaves, anything, anything like that that might be on a porch. Inside the house or around the house, or the walls, you have the foundation walls. And here you want to check the wood or any type of wood materials that may be part of the house because you want to make sure that the house is not having an issue with termites. And this is something that you probably would have had an inspection for if you were buying a home or you may have someone come and inspect the home every so often for termites. That’s an inspection that I normally recommend a person have done once a year maybe once every two years have someone come in, if there’s any wood exposure, where that can be examined, especially if it’s part of the foundation walls if it’s part of a crawlspace as part of the basement. Having those areas check to make sure that
There isn’t anything visible that could be seen. So with termites, you’re going to, you know, you’re going to see those visible mud tunnels, tubes, things like that, which would should raise alarm. In the springtime, if you have an issue with what appears to be winged ants, that that’s a reason to get on the phone and call a local professional, we’ll have them come out and make sure that it’s ants and it is not wing termites. Now, the next area is the roof. Now on the roof is important, takes a little time and it could be a little tricky because it’s a really thoroughly inspect a roof, you need a ladder, but you want to make sure that there’s no potential entrances or loose shingles. You don’t want anything that could allow, you know, small animals to enter, you definitely want to make sure I mean, small rodents will will climb the walls of the of your house and they will enter in through the roof. So you just want to make sure that all the vents and the roof returns and the flashing along the chimney and the skylight, you want to check those things for gaps and make sure that there’s not going to be any, any issues there. And then also, your your windows, which is just you know, I mean, this is like one of the number one things that you know, you want to check out, make sure that there’s no damage around the screens. And if there’s any openings, you want to make sure you can fix those things. So that you can keep out mosquitoes and stink bugs and ladybugs and stuff like that. And then finally inside the house, just the floors, you know, as part of a seasonal inspection, and bug prevention, you want to vacuum the surface of the floors in your house. And, you know, use that little nozzle attachment and try to get into those little cracks and crevices and remove as much as that stuff as possible. Make sure that there’s no boxelder bugs or anything like that, harboring, you know, in between like, maybe a door that’s not really used too often in your house. You know, I’ve seen that happen where boxelder bugs just kind of get in between a screen door and outer door that’s maybe not in a lot of use and you know, you got a ton of boxelder bugs in there. So those are the I think what we have here is 1234567! Seven things that need attention when it comes to pest proofing our home. Those are the seven pest proofing tips for the day. Hello everyone, this is Quincy with harpoon pest solutions. And welcome to the Harpoon Pest Solutions Pest Control podcast. Today, I’m going to answer the question how to get rid of ants in the winter, how to get rid of ants in the winter. So, real quick, what causes ants in a winter? Well, there could be two probabilities, there could be an issue that you have an ant colony living in your walls. So that that could happen. I mean, you can have some species of ants can create ness above ground, they can create nest right inside of a wall void. I’ve seen this many times during inspection. Carbon ants and some other ants can create satellite colonies, you know, away from the nest, and the main nest could be outside you know, deep in the ground somewhere, and they can have satellite colonies inside wall voids inside of a house whereas warm and those forging ends, you know, answer, they send out spies and they send out scouts looking for food. It says it’s just a marvelous wonderful thing, the way these ants were designed to do this, they can just go places and use all types of pheromones and chemical signals and trails to you know, communicate with the other ants as to where there’s good food and shelter. So that could be a problem. The other thing is that if you have a depending on what type of home you have, if you have if your home is sitting on a like a concrete foundation, like a slab Foundation, sometimes there are appliances and different things at the house, the home heating system can keep that slab warm, warm enough all year long, so that the soil underneath is just you know, ideal for ants to remain active 12 months out of the year, and several feet underneath that slab in the soil you have in colonies that are are active and so they stay active. They eat enough in the fall and autumn to eat enough fats and carbohydrates and proteins to last them through the winter. So it can be extremely tough to control. If you don’t know what to do if you don’t know what things to use, and the timing of it is very, very important. So a lot of times you’ll have to deal with these pavement in these little ants even if you do see them in a winner. The way you get rid of them is with bait you know really really good bait ants, pavement ants specifically. They prefer greasy foods, and they often feed on like like pet food that might be down. But baiting is the best control option for these kind of pest problems. And just one one brain that comes to mind is Taro now we don’t necessarily use Tarot as a company, but I have to say that I’ve seen Tarot work really, really well. And so some home owners have had a lot of great results using Tarot so sometimes the baits will mimic greasy foods, fatty foods, some of the baits will mimic a sugary type of things, but beta is the best thing. That is how you get rid of ants. Okay, so sprays, no sprays will only cause your problem to get worse. And sprays will not give you the results you’re looking for. You are looking for a good quality bait amazon.com of course, is a great place to go because you can read a ton of reviews about what works and what does not. And so that is my tip for the day. Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Harpoon Pest solutions Pest Control podcast. Today, I’m going to answer the question about fleas. Very simple and short, how to get rid of fleas in your home? Well, there’s four steps that you you need to take, if you have a fleet issue, I would say, actually, it’s five. The very first step is that you want to take care of your animal, your cat or dog, you want to make sure you’re able to get them to a qualified vet, and, you know, get whatever medications are needed to take care of your animal to make sure if you if you have a flea issue in your home, because you own a cat or dog, you want to make sure that that animal is taken care of, in a way that’s not going to bring any harm to that cat or dog. That’s very important. You know, we want to put your animal first as a priority, make sure that they’re healthy. And if they have an issue with fleas, you know, that is going to make sure they get the medication that they need. That’s the first thing. How did you get fleas to begin with, is always important. It could be that you have an animal that has fleas, maybe both fleas in the house, it could be something weird on the outside of the house, maybe you know there’s grass, you know, our lawn area that needs to be taken care of may need to be treated even on the outside, you know desks. So step number one is really just trying to pinpoint you know, what’s going on, you know, as my cat or dog, okay, is there’s issues on the outside that need to be addressed. For the inside of your home. The number two thing is you want to use a powerful vacuum on any of the floors, upholstery to mattresses, the bedding, a very a good vacuum to suck up those fleas, get those eggs up out of the you know the crevices of the wood flooring or the fibers of the carpet, you want to try to get get as much of that stuff up as possible. Take that vacuum outside and change out the bag or, you know, or empty it out when the outside of the house. So that’s step number two, which is getting a powerful vacuum and just go to work. Step number three is the use of a steam cleaner on carpets and upholstery, including the pet bedding. She’s trying to destroy as many eggs as possible. I know we use high powerful steam, high heat steam for the control of bedbugs to destroy those eggs. And in this case, that’s what you want to do is just be really thorough, and try to really eliminate as many eggs it’s possible that fleas leave fleas lay a lot of eggs, okay, to female fleas, they definitely leave a lot of eggs. So you want to steam clean as much as possible. The next step is step number four, you want to wash all bedding, including your pets bed in hot water. You know, wherever the cat or dog if they have bedding, you know, toss that thing in the washer and and and handle it you know, so that they have a nice, clean bedding in the destroys any any fleas, want to pet bedding. And then number five. Number five is the use of chemical treatment. This is important because at this step, you can decide whether or not you want to treat it yourself or call on a professional. Those are the two options you have. For a fleece situation. I’m going to say it’s probably best to call in a professional. And the reason why is because a lot of times with a cell over the counter or foggers or bombs. Now most people that’s the first thing they grab is oh I got fleas, you know, I need to get some foggers or bombs and they set them off. And oftentimes we end up coming out to that customer’s home after they’ve made several attempts to use fibers or bombs and they don’t work. Part of the reason why it doesn’t work is because fires and bombs they releases the material up into the air towards the ceiling and then it falls all down on everything. You know it falls on the tables, chairs, furniture bedding everywhere, but where should it be and most of your flea issues are going to be on the floor around a floor area. And so after several attempts to get rid of rid of fleas with bombs, unfortunately, what happens is that the fleas can become resistant. And now you have generations of fleas that hatch and they become resistant to, you know, the chemicals that are being used in that home. And sometimes what happens when professionals are called in, they have a hard time controlling the fleas because there’s fleas that, you know, they have to go through generations of fleas now that have become a little resistant to, you know, residual material. So DIY for fleas, is not what I recommend, I definitely recommend calling in a professional. And a professional would be able to arrest this issue in about one or two attempts. With the proper combination of residual materials, and that means you know, you’re looking for a good knock down material along with an insect growth regulator, because that’s how you get rid of fleas. And to know that there’s nothing on the market that destroys eggs. So it was always necessary for your exterminator to come back in about 10 days to make another application to destroy whatever fleas have hatched from those eggs. So that’s how you get rid of fleas. Number one, take care of your pet number two, use a powerful vacuum number three, the use of a steam cleaner. Number four, wash all pet bedding and number five, call in a local press professional or if you’re gonna do it yourself, make sure that you’re thorough. Hello there, this is Quincy with Harpoon Pest Solutions. And this is the Harpoon Pest Solutions Pest Control podcast. Today, I’m going to answer the question, why do I see ants in the winter? That’s a good question. You know, typically we see ants that pop up in the spring, summer, the ants are out in full force, very busy, you know, the trailing looking for food, you can see them trailing up and down. Homes, buildings on the sidewalk, they’re in a grass. Pretty much you see everywhere, you know, you’ll get random ants here and here on t
he countertop bathroom. But why do I see them in a winter? I understand the warm weather. But what happens with the winner? Seems like the ground is frozen. The outside is cold. There shouldn’t be anything moving crawling around. So to answer that question, just a few quick facts. Unlike other animals, ants don’t fall into like a deep slumber. For the winter. They don’t go hibernate. But what happens, what answers that they’re finding a way inside, or they’ll rest way under the ground in the soil, you know, and when I say they find it, we’re inside, what could happen is that some species of ants are able to make above ground nest, and it could be a wall void. Or it could be an appliance or something along those lines that ants can harboring and survive through the winter months indoors. When it comes to the soil, what could happen is that I’ve seen this happen in many neighborhoods where two homes are built on like a concrete slab. There are things that keep that concrete slab warm and heated. And so the soil underneath is warm. And it allows termite I’m not termite, it allows ants to survive, that allows them to thrive and maintain activity through the cold months. So while the ground and the outside might be frozen, and it might be solid, underneath slab underneath that concrete slab or in that foundation, in certain places, it just may be warm. And, you know, if there’s moisture to air and there’s warmth there, and there, it’s the nose, it’s would be able to survive and answer cold blooded. So their bodies react to temperatures when the outside, of course, you know, the temperatures on the outside would cause them to become very sluggish and slow them down. So sometimes when people see ants in like December, January, February, the ants are kind of like sluggish, and it just kind of move and they may only see like one or two here or there but they see it. And then sometimes we get those kind of weird unseasonally warm days in the middle of winter. You know, like you’ll get like a 60 degree day or something like that. And then boom, you know, you got all this crazy activity. We’ve had customers reports it Yeah, you know, the other day when it was the other week when it was warm. You know, we just had all these ants everywhere. And I don’t understand what’s going on because it’s December it’s, January and we got ants everywhere. And that’s why because and sure enough, I remember talking to one customer and that was the situation, the house sitting on a slab and right underneath where her her sink is. And her stove. She always she has an issue with ants all year long, or she had an issue ants all year long. We’ll get to that later. And what happens, they’re able to do this because this is what they were designed to do. They were designed to survive. Most species of ants will consume large amounts of food and a winner so they can put on fat. And they’ll eat as much as they can. And much as food is they can or they can go without food a winner basically. But you see them put on a lot of eat a lot of fats, you know, that’s what they do.
And they feed off those fats, they feed off the carbohydrates and the protein that they stored through the fall and they do that in the winter. And that is why you will see it’s in the winter. This is Quincy with Harpoon Pest Solutions and say goodbye to the last bug.

Hello again, everyone. Today we’re going to discuss termites. And how can we prevent termites in our home. It’s not a guarantee prevention. But what I want to share with you can really help you keep termites out of your home. Termites we know they eat wood from the inside out, they call us homeowners thousands of dollars, especially commercial properties can call us in the hundreds of thousands even. It can be hidden for years until they’re found out. They travel deep below the surface of the ground. And North America, particularly as arid east coast of North America, we have the subterranean termite. So they come from deep underground. I’m not going to bore you with a lot of termite facts give you that I just want to help you out a little bit here. So believe it or not, your roof plays a vital role. In termite prevention and urban areas, you have two flat roofs, some of your roofs are tarred, some might have a rubber roof on it. Now you want to make sure on those roofs that your downspouts lead directly into your sewer pipe that the water coming from the rain the rain water goes right down into your sewer of the city code allows it that these that the water does not just pour out into your concrete or pour out into your yard. You want to if it doesn’t go into the sewer line, have the downspout go away from your home. Draw that water away from your home. Broken downspouts they cause a heavy rain much puddling against your home. Now if you have a pitched roof, you want to make sure your gutters are tight. They’re not dripping a lot of water down onto your concrete or your grass. You want to make sure that the leaves don’t clog the downspout areas. If you have a cellar or a basement in your home you want to and if you take on regular water in your basement, then you really want to readily inspect your floor joists and your wall studs each year. Termites love water, heavy moisture areas. That’s what draws into your home in many ways. So this is just something that I wanted to share with you guys. A lot of people do not know when they purchase a home. You know you get to turn my certification and as good. We do termite harpoon pest solutions, we do termite certifications but just a crucial, very important is your inspector should inspect your downspouts and gutters. Hey, this is Vernon I’m back again. I want to talk about mice mice in the home. On my last podcast, we focused on urban areas we’re going to continue to do that Philadelphia for example. By the way, Philly don’t get enough love man on podcasts and YouTube. Not at all just saying my comment about it, but come on. Anyway, we’re going to talk about mice in the home. I was gonna join rats and mice maybe named this the rodent podcast, but really, rats mice. One is the Incredible Hulk folks. The others David Banner, which is green eyes. Rats deserve their own podcast episode by themselves. So Mike’s folks, so many Philly urban homes, we have boiler heating, which means you have a radiator in every room of your house. Now each radiator has two pipes, and those pipes run throughout your house in your walls into your basement. It’s like a superhighway in your home. It’s like Star Wars Episode One or two. You know when and again young will be closing that car chase that was driving on floating cars. And again, he was jumping on different cars. There was a superhighway seen flying colorful cars zipping all over the place. beautiful scene by the way. I love those kind of futuristic scenes. I say we can get there but no, I’m not saying that anymore. technology’s just amazing. Anyway, radiator pipes are everywhere in your house. And the mice are riding them bad boys like interstate 95 Highway. You’re your couch. Watching your 65 inch equals his own shout out the Carson Wentz go birds. And here comes from under the love seat. This mouse and you weigh in 225 pounds grown man jumping spilling your IPA beer all over your new white throwback jersey. You don’t run because you’re not scared. You just start. There’s a difference. Girlfriend ran first by the way. Oh, you’re scaring mice? No, I’m not scared. It just surprised me. So you got to sit around and pace folks take your time sit around both pipes and check under a radiator to it gets pretty nasty under radiators. The baseboards they tend to separate from the floor and mice can easily get through those holes. We said last podcast my first podcast that these homes are separated by red brick and sold. I just want to briefly explain something very very important to you homeowners out there. Perhaps you’re in the process of renovating your home. You want to remodel your property you love your property. So you you hire a handyman. And you want to make your house look more modern. Most of these houses. They have one single light in the middle of the ceiling or some houses they don’t have any lights at all in the ceiling. But recessed lights is the thing so you want to get some recessed lights installed. So the handyman is the handyman he got to rip down your old plaster because he needs to run some electric.
Now here’s the deal with plaster.
plaster is the underrated eyesore. Nobody wants but it’s thick. It’s durable. And here’s something else you might not have realized about plaster. It’s very very quiet.

because mice pass between homes rooms. They walk on the ceilings in between the Joyce most rowhomes have mice running in between the ceilings. They pass into that old red brick and here you are you’re sitting down on your couch. You got this new ceiling with these recessed lights. The handyman took good care of you so you think winter comes mice are coming back in the house heavy
and you hear
scratching sounds and you look up you saying what in the world is that noise? I’ve never heard that before.
Here’s the deal.
dry wall is thinner than plaster. Everything you the mice do in between your choice, you’re going to hear it so Mr. handyman charged you full price and he took shortcuts date these handyman do not like this subject. They don’t want to talk about this but it needs to be talked about because many guys are taking shortcuts working on people’s homes. There’s two things that he did not do. And he could have just did one of the two. One. He could have sealed those cracks up between your floor joists, your your excuse me You’re shilling Joyce, that crumble red brick. He could have threw some cement on here. smooth them out a little bit. stop them from passing through. or two. He did not insulate. That’s right. Not just outside walls get insulated. But inside ceilings walls, they get insulated too. So the handyman he says we do it all. don’t hire that guy by the way. Nobody does. It all.
Took shortcuts.
Now my company harpoon pest solutions, and other companies we seal homes. But here’s the deal. If a pest control company says he will seal your home. He tell you all the things he is going to do and didn’t get a sticker sticker shock $800 thousand dollars or more. And he comes up to your front door holding a caulk gun. Do not let them into your home. Anybody can do cop in go to Home Depot, get some caulk, caulk gun. Anybody can do that. We use galvanized mesh, drywall, wood, real materials, screws nails. Now here’s the deal. Were pesky control company. harpoon pest solutions, not harpoon home improvement. I told you I keep it real with you more. It’s gonna tell you the truth in this podcast. One lady said, Are you coming back to the house to spackling paint that No, no. We stopped the mice. You want to showcase it on HDTV. You need to call a carpenter. Okay, folks, I’m back again. Good to talk to everyone again. This is Episode Four of the harpoon pest solutions podcast. We’re gonna get right into it. We’re talking about rats, rats in a city. Rats is probably the most feared pest according to many homeowners that we talked to. And in Philadelphia rats is a big problem. Particularly in South Philadelphia, rather like a big percentage of rats in Philadelphia. The majority is in South Philadelphia. Now, there’s a few reasons for this. And you know, this podcast is not to scare anyone from moving to South Philadelphia, softly delfy is a great place great area. Some of the best restaurants is their very clean part of this city. South Philly Philadelphia is very nice. But here we go. So South Philadelphia, one of the problems with it, is that it’s adjacent to the rivers. So you have the Delaware River, in school. So racks is a breeding place. These rivers are a breeding place for these rats, these rats come out of this river, and they’re looking for a home to get into. By the way school cool. little silly fact. School means hidden River. So used to say Schuylkill River, you’re saying hidden river River. Just a little side note for those visitors that don’t know what the worst school means. Okay, so here is another reason why rats is a problem in Salford. This is a story that our religion gave me. I had to check it out for myself, it’s a very good story. So if many of you who live in Philly, but you don’t have to live in Philly to know or recall veteran Stadium, many of you recall, the vet as is known throughout the sports world. It’s where the Philadelphia Eagles used to play the football team. But it was knocked down some years back veteran stadium. And so the story goes that I’ve had the privilege of going to the vet quite a bit as a young guy. And he not not just football games, but even outside other events, was able to go to the vet. And the lower level. It’s true. I mean, you could just go in a lower level and you know, rats there, you only have to see them, you know, they’re down there. And then they had a level below that level. So when the event was being planned to be demolished, the construction companies were out there. They imploded the building. And there they said that when they did that, there were thousands of rats running from the stadium. So apparently, under the vet, there were a lot of rats, and they use the vet as a breeding ground. And when they knocked down the stadium, these rats had no place to go. Now, they said it was so bad that these rats started to go to these homes and sell Philadelphia. The city was paying for homes to get treated for rats. That’s how bad it was. I don’t I don’t think they’re the city’s paying for that anymore. But fact that No, they’re not. But there was a time where you can get a little bit of grant money to pay towards your pest control guy to get rid of rats. So anyway, another reason why. Here’s something else about South Philly. That’s a little different from the other areas of Philadelphia. The city of Philadelphia, the new stadiums, so you got the new football stadium, got the baseball stadium, you have the basketball slash hockey arena.
Philadelphia is one of the few cities that all the stadiums are within a stone’s throw of each other. All the stadiums are very close. There’s not many cities in this nation like that. And these are new buildings, but let’s face it, you know there there’s holes. And I’m sure rats tend to be under these buildings also. Now right up the street from the stadiums is another problem. It is a huge food distribution area. You can see through building you got other buildings over there. And you best believe again, under the old buildings registry for the stadiums in South Philly is a breeding area for rats. So South Philadelphia very nice area but there’s that Those are reasons why, especially for South Philly, we get more rat calls from South Philadelphia than we get from anywhere else. So, rats beyond that date, we don’t always know the rhyme or reason why they choose the houses that they choose. Rats, they can come from underground. Believe it or not, rats can bite a hole through your cellar floor, a hole in your concrete, they can bite through concrete now, if you think I’m lying. While I hope you never find out until I’m truth, let’s just leave it at that. But there are a few things that you can do at your property that you can look for, that we’ve noticed tend to cause rats to come into person’s homes. Number one, if you have tree stumps, perhaps a tree was cut down in your yard, or perhaps in your front yard, not just your backyard, your front yard, or the tree stump can we’ve noticed it can be in the alley behind New York, Philadelphia, we have alleys. And sometimes they have these tree stumps in them trees that was cut down rats, they love tree stumps, is a place where they start families in these tree stumps. And once they start a family, eventually they will find your way their way into your home. Also, rats tend to come up through your sidewalk. So if you have holes in your pavement, you might want to get those patched up right away if you can, because rats like to be under the concrete. And they will travel underground and find their way into your home. So those are just a couple things you can look at, obviously the obvious things such as trashcan lids and your trash cans and things keeping the perimeter of your house clean. That’s all that can always help. A couple things you need to know about rats also, they can be quite aggressive. So if you plan to tackle them yourself not trying to, you know did you call us or anything like that. But it’s a fact rats can be aggressive, especially if they got numbers today is more than one. They know when they got numbers and they get a little bit more brave when you try to get rid of them. The other thing, rats covey carry heavy fleas. Many times persons that have rats have fleas, so you want to watch out for that too. If you see rats, you want to watch out for fleas. Lastly, try to remove rats that you catch that we do that and when we catch rats, we really try to get them out of the house fairly quick because corpse flies, flies that really crowd around rats. And it’s hard to get rid of those flies because they’re born in in the rats that born in the house. And so you really want to get the rats out the dead rats out as soon as possible. All right, so that’s it. Rats is a nasty subject. It’s a scary subject. But hey, if you think you got it bad. Imagine what the restaurant owner in salt and Center City is going through.
