Grizz, Annabel, and Jill talk about Paul and the way He lived every single moment for the Gospel. He is about Jesus 24/7. Join us in this episode as we evaluate Paul's life and our own with an eternal perspective. “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor to me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and to be with Christ, for that is far better. But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account.” Philippians 1: 21-24
This is our 3rd CHALLENGE WEEK! Queue the balloons and music because at OHT, we get pumped for these weeks! Challenge weeks exist to help you put into practice the things we talk about weekly here at OHT. This week, we will be digging more into to the “C” of C.I.A. which is “Comprehension.” The comprehension phase is the first phase of study when going through a new passage. Basically, this is answering the question, “what does this text say?” A couple of tools we can use within the comprehension phase include: circling repeated words, looking up definitions to words in the text, and writing down your questions.
Paul talks about His life purpose of advancing the gospel no matter what the circumstances in these verses of Philippians. He is writing to the church of Philippi while on house arrest awaiting trial. And Paul tells the Philippians to Rejoice! We hope you leave this week's episode encouraged to share the gospel with your life, with your words, and right where you are.
Hey ladies! We are SO EXCITED to kick off our Philippians podcast series. We will be walking through the entire book one section at a time. This week, Grizz, Annabel, and Michelle give some background on the church of Philippi and on Paul's history with them. "And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Christ Jesus." That was Paul's encouragement to the church! May we trust and believe its Truth.

As you put into practice the things we are talking about on Oh Hey Truth, this week is a great listen to learn the importance of understanding a book of the Bible as a whole and the people, places, and themes that are repeated in each chapter. Join us for a challenge!
Our Scripture Reading series is just that. Reading of a specific set of scriptures out loud for you to memorize and have ready to listen to anytime and anywhere. Philippians is one of the Pauline Epistles and it is all about joy and rejoicing in whatever circumstances you find yourself in. Enjoy!

Michelle, Grizz, Annabel, and Jill sum up the last stanza in Psalm 119 to finish our series on the longest chapter in the Bible. We talk about what it looks like to count our blessings in our days, to go after our sisters in Christ when they are in sin, to love the Lord with all we have, and to sing His Truth in our lives every single day. We are talking about our hope in affliction this week with Michelle and Jill! Psalm 119: 50 says, "This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life." No matter what you have walked through or are currently in right now, our comfort can be assured in Christ Jesus. The promise of a Savior means we can rejoice even in the hard. We hope you feel encouraged and hopeful as you listen.

"I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Today's episode breaks down what it means to put God's Word in our hearts - to store it up - to memorize it, all for the sake of not sinning against God! He gives us the way to holiness all in His Word. When we store it up and meditate on His Truth's, we are less likely to sin because we know and recognize our sin more readily. May this encourage you where you are today and we hope God gets all the glory for your time listening and time in the Word!
Annabel and Jill break down verse 9: "How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word." An entire episode and our longest one yet for ONE VERSE. Having a pure heart is not easy, but the Lord desires it of us. Hope you enjoy as we laugh and confess and push one another to the Truth of what it looks like to guard your heart according the the Word.
