Thursday means Robbo's Pet Project with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief Centre...Persephone was the goddess queen of the underworld, wife of the god Haides (Hades), She was also the goddess of spring growth!

This goddess is worth having your home taken over by a cat!

Her long beautiful coat is so stunning, it requires a brush at least once a day to keep it nice and smooth...

Persephone loves nothing more then being able to just lay down and be patted, she would love to sit on your knee and watch your fav movies.

Little bit shy when she first meets you but will come out of her shell once she has had a pat and she knows that all is okay.

Persephone is okay with cats however would rather a cat that isn't to in her face!

Kids over the age of 6 would be ideal as they will understand that she needs her own space to begin with for her to settle in.

If you would like to meet Persephone please give BARC a call on 54412209 and book in for a meet and greet.

Thursday is Pet Projects Day with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief Centre...this week it's a package deal...Fred and Rosie

Fred and Rosie are a ready made couple. Having spent the last few years together, we would like to see them head into a new home together, too.

At 3 years and 5 months, our sweet boy Fred loves his cuddles - don't let his size fool you! He will crawl into your lap if given half a chance, so you better have a large couch so this boy can sprawl out next to you.

Fred walks well on a leash and will do anything to be told he is a good boy, he has had basic training including sit and stay.

Fred adores Rosie and this lovely pair do everything together.

A month older, Rosie is also a smoocher. A little smaller than her beau, she is more likely to succeed in gaining your lap privileges. Rosie gets along really well with other dogs and is happy in a variety of company.

At 3ish years old, both Fred and Rosie are past puppyhood, but they are an energetic breed and still require daily exercise, even if you have a big backyard.

Being sighthounds, we recommend a home with no small animals or birds, not looking to attend dog parks or be exercised off lead this pair greatly enjoy their gentle stoles together, paw in paw watching the sunrise or set.

Fred and Rosie have not been exposed to cats and we recommend a home without cats

Deerhounds do require a moderate amount of grooming of their short but wiry coat , but this can be done at home and doesn't necessarily require the attention of a professional groomer.

If you would love to be owned by this lovely couple and bask in the sweetness of their amazing relationship please reach out to BARC on 5441-2209 to arrange a meet and greet and a chance at becoming the 3rd wheel.

Thursday is Pet Projects...and this week a very special lady...Tabby the cat...You wouldn't think that this stunning girl is almost 13 years old! Still quite spritely and a bundle of joy with so much love to give.

Tabby is a real in your face smoochy kind of cat. She loves giving kisses and love butts and when she's in her element, she will drool from pure happiness.

Tabby does not like other cats and as such needs to be in a home where she can soak up all of the attention for herself.

Even though she loves smooches, like a typical cat, it must be on her terms. She does not like being picked up and carried around. Due to this she would be best suited to a home with older kids who understand and respect her boundaries.

This lovely lady just needs someone to love, and to love her back just as we believe she deserves.

As Tabby is an older gal, and we want to make sure she stays in good health, she will require some dental work and will need to return to the shelter to have this completed after adoption. This will come at no extra cost to the new owners.

If you would like to meet Tabby, please give us a call on (03) 5441 2209 to set up a meet and greet appointment.

Thursday is Robbo's Pet Project...this week we say g'day to Trevor! Let's hear his story...

Every good Aussie require a mate called Trevor, one to regale you with war stories and tales of that giant fish that got away or the time they saved a baby from the jaws of a crocodile...  You know, stories where you roll your eyes and tell Trevor to pull the other one. If you haven't got this Trevor in your life, ensuring you always have a smile on your face then BARC can solve that issue for you easily. Trevor the 18 month old Staffy X hasn't really done any of the above things to entertain you with the above stories, but that won’t stop him from keeping you entertained. This affectionate boy is a real character, pushing his luck on lead where he will decide its time for a lay down or for you to drag him around the grass making train noises like the little red wagon that could.  Confident, handsome and fun loving is our Trevor with all the people he meets and interacts with, however he is a bit unsure around other dogs and needs some slower, neutral introductions for him to find his feet and work out how to play and socialise with canine pals. Medium sized and a bit of a rough and tumble type, Trev would love to head down the river, go camping, do a bit of fishing or get out on the boat..  A real dogs dog is our Trev. Trev has previously lived with some young and active children and thinks that it sounds like a fantastic idea to find a home with similar again. SO, if you need a Trevor in your life, one who would go to war for you, keep the kids safe from crocodiles and drag in that big Barra next time you are down the river then call BARC on the old tele-bone and arrange to come in and have a chin wag with Trev.

Thursday is Robbo's Pet Project on The Wake Up Call, with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief Centre...Peach is her name, Sweetness is her game...A peach is described as "a soft, round, slightly furry fruit"! this basically describes our kitty Peach.

This 8 year old girl is looking for a home she can call her own, one where she can hang out on the couch, the end of your bed or even sit by the window enjoying the sun.

Peach is in need of a home with no other cats and teenage kids if you have any, this is due to Peach being a very independent girl who likes to stay on her own feet as she isn't to keen on being lifted up and carried around for long periods of time. In saying that Peach would be more then happy to sit on the couch beside you for a long pat why watching the news to see what has happened in the world.

Peach is a sweet girl who does enjoy a pat, she will follow you around when its time for her to be fed and she will happily race you to bed so she can get the best spot.

If you would like to book in a meet and greet with Peach please give us a call on 54412209 and we will be able to help you out

Thursday is Robbo's Pet Project with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief Centre...This week...Lavern and Shirley, Thelma and Louise, French and Saunders.... Some dynamic female duos from TV history... some real bonds, some put on for a show, but none as true as Rebel and Marley. These two senior ladies, an unlikely pair have a bond that has been developed since puppyhood and now at 7 years of age they find themselves surrendered to BARC together..  And that's how we want to see them stay. Rebel the Jack Russel mix and her larger but still so very cute sidekick Marley the medium sized terrier X are inseparable, relying on each other through good and bad times. Having lived previously as inclusive members of a family in a home with younger children, these social girls would be suited to a home full of life, active and looking for a pair of friends willing to keep those backyard birds at bay and spend their time exploring Mother Nature in all her glory, or finding that comfy spot on the couch for Marley to sit and get comfortable before Rebel decided to climb on top of her and have a snooze.... Yes, this does seem like their preferred sleeping position. Looking for a home with no pesky cats, and maybe one whos children have grown and left the nest, Marley and Rebel guarantee to fill any void and shower their new owners with love and affection. Well mannered, great with other dogs and always happy these two girls are a real delight and the life of the party.  Despite some typical senior dog ailments there is not much that stops these two from making the most out of every single day. As long as they have someone that loves them and most importantly, each other this dynamic duo is unstoppable. Being over 7 years of age has its advantages, and these two, considered pensioners in dogs years fall into BARCS senior category meaning that they are adoptable for a fee of $100 each. Available to meet and greet this lovely pair 23/07/2022 Ready to leave the shelter on new adventure 28/07/2022 M/C #982000363539278 M/C #982000363256093

Thursday is Robbo's Pet Project...this week we we want to address the high amount of animals being surrended...it truly is reaching crisis proportions...In many cases there are real and compelling reasons, as is the case with Ricky, but not always, as we will talk to Ben about this.  Now to Ricky, a beautiful almost 2 year old Irish wolfhound... Ricky found himself at BARC after sadly losing his owner, and is now seeking his new forever home where he can be apart of the family and be around his people! Not having much training in the past, Ricky is needing someone who is willing to put in the time to teach this boy some basic commends. Once he has learnt the basic he will soon be getting you that beer out of the shed fridge, Taking Ricky to dog obedience training would be great for him so he can have the socialisation with other dogs and people. Ricky is a real outdoor loving dog, Hiking or runs in the bush would be the ideal environment for him, he would probably jump in the water if he was to go on a boat or disturb the fish why out fishing but it would all be In good fun!! Such a loveable lad that just wants to be hanging out cooking BBQ or at night having a sleep in your bed all snuggled up to him human. Ricky gets on well with other dogs, however he hasn't been around very many dogs so would need another dog that is able to deal with dogs in their faces and can show Ricky how to play but also how to relax in the sun chewing/playing with a dog toy and just how to love his new life. A home with Large breed experience to be able to help this boy become the bestest boy he can be, a training background would be a bonus as well. If you think Ricky would suit your household then please give BARC a call on 54412209 and book in for a meet and greet. Thursday is Robbo's Pet Project, with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief Centre, where we help to rehome pets...Although its considered rude to point, Hank here simply can’t help it and he has asked for our help in pointing out a few things in order to help him find his best new home. At 2 and a bit years of age Hank has found himself at BARC and has quickly won all the staff over with his antics and floppy ears. So, what is it we need to POINT out then...Well, firstly we should point out that Hank is in fact a German Short Haired Pointer, a breed used for seeking and retrieving. You see, Hanks ancestors, and maybe even family members would find something hiding in the grass and rather than chase or bark at it they would simple raise a foot and point out the location to their handler. We should then Point out that although Hank has not been used for this purpose, he still has an innate desire to POINT. Other things to point out is that Hank is great with other dogs, has previously lived with kids and absolutely adores everyone he meets.  He is seeking an inclusive home, with a caregiver who can be a constant companion or assist with training whilst Hank works through some separation anxiety issues where he can be somewhat vocal when left alone for long periods. But don't allow this to point you in the direction of another dog, in  the perfect home Hank would develop into a calm natured and settled dog and BARC have lots of training tips and advice to help you get to this point. There we go again with another point pun. SO, if we haven't yet made it clear then in summary, this fantastic, attractive, loving and sometimes needy boy has one last point to make. Hank loves to be the center of attention and has many clown like antics to ensure this occurs, his juggling tricks are second t none, he could probably catch a tennis ball blindfolded and has exceptional manners on and off lead. He is hoping that the perfect home is out there and reads this profile. To find out more about Hank, or to book an ap-POINT-ment time please contact reception on 5441-2209. Turbo will need a home with kids over the age of 6 years old that are use to being around bouncy dogs that love to play. Turbo doesn't jump up on people so he does have some manners its just when he swings around with excitement he will bump the kids. He walks well on lead once all the excitement is over and would be a great hiking friend as he will just go all day long!. If you're a family into camping this boy would be the best dog for you, he packs lightly just make sure you don't forget his BALL!! Microchip# 900141000178164

Thursday is Robbo's Pet Project with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief Centre. This stunning American Bulldog x is Khaza, he is now looking for his new home. Khaza is a gentle boy who is just looking for someone to love, he wants nothing more than to be a part of the family. He has little bit of training under his paw, however he is super keen to learn more. Khaza is very strong on the lead and will need some work on this as he LOVES getting out for walks and seeing what’s new in the world. Gets on well with other medium-large dogs, and would be okay in a home with one, it just needs to be the right dog and Khaza would like to meet this dog before heading home. He wouldn't mind living on his own either as he loves his humans more, so would rather have all of there attention. Not recommended to live in a home with cats or other small animals. Kids over the age of 10 years would be ideal with just how strong Khaza can be. Loves his toys, and if given the chance he will jump up onto your knee for a cuddle. If you think this boy suits you, then please give BARC a call on 5441 2209 and book in for a meet and greet. Thursday is Robbo's Pet Project with BARC; Bendigo Animal Relief Centre...5 weeks and counting in the shelter with no one coming to meet him, yet Buddy here takes it all in his stride and wont let it get him down....We cant believe that this wonderful boy has yet to find a home and thought maybe an updated profile might help... so here goes. At almost 3 years of age, Buddy is a beautiful large crossbreed who is looking for his new home where there are lots of balls/toys he can play with. Buddy spent the first few years of his life confined to a yard, he arrived at BARC petrified, having never been on a lead or around dogs he did not know Buddy was quiet shy to begin with.  But with time and patience, this boy has found his confidence and spark for life. Buddy is such a good boy who responds well to training and would suit someone wanting to do further obedience or perhaps enter some agility sports. Social with other dogs and happy to live in a home with another well behaved and  friendly dog, Buddy would love to share his new life with a four legged companion. Young teens or older would be great companions in the family for this active boy, Teenage kids would be ideal for Buddy to get out and kick the footy with or throw a ball. If you think you have the time to give to this special boy, either looking to adopt him forever or perhaps even offer him a short term respite foster option from the shelter then  please give BARC a call on 5441 2209 and book in for a meet and greet.  Microchip #900141000178136

Thursday is Robbo's Pet Project with BARC...this week it's all about Sophie... Sophie is a sweet little Beagle who is looking for her new forever home. We have been chatting with Sophie about what she would like in her new home and she has stated as follows. -A home with a family who is gentle. -Someone wanting an inclusive new family member. -Kids over the age of 10 that understand her boundaries. -Lots of yummy treats. -NO cats or smaller animals. -Lots of walks where she can use her nose and have a good sniff. -Humans home most of the time where she can spend her days just hanging out with them. Sophie can be a little timid at first but when she comes out of her shell she is quite a lovely dog that just wants to be loved. She gets on well with other dogs, just as long as they respect her if she wants her own space. Why little Sophie is looking for her new home she is spending her days in a beautiful little play group with 3 other dogs and she is loving it. If you think you have the time for little Sophie, please give BARC a call on 54412209 and book in for a meet and greet.  Microchip # 982000405912927 Available for meet and greets- 21/05/2022 Ready to leave the shelter-24/05/2022

Thursday means Robbo's Pet Project with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief....This stunning Alaskan malamute is Rylu, he is a 6 year 5 month old who is a massive cuddle bug that adores being patted and loved. Rylu would love a new family that would be able to spend a lot of time with him so he isn't left alone to much. This big baby wants nothing more then to be able to spend the day laying around in the sun or watching movies on the couch with you. Best suited in a home with a female dog, however is okay with male dogs also we just think a female dog at home would be better suited. Rylu wants really well on lead and is super keen to go out for a walk, going to new places he does get a little bit excited will pull a little bit to begin with but once he is settled he will walk with a loose lead. Kids over the age of 8 years that understand Rylu will need some alone time every now and again to rest as well as not being all over him. NO cats or other small animals, this includes small dogs also. This boy has the biggest smile on his face and is super happy all the time. If you think that Rylu is the boy for you then please give BARC a call on 54412209 and book in for a meet and greet. Thursday is Robbo's Pet Project with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief Centre...this week it's Shelby the 4 year old American Bulldog now looking for her new home. A home where she can be apart of the family, inside watching TV or helping with the house work. Shelby is good with kids over the age of 5 years that understand that she needs her own space at times but she is also more then happy to run around with them as well as cuddle up with them in bed and watch them do there home work. Needing a home with No other dogs or cats/small animals. Shelby can at times react to some dogs but be fine with others and BARC strongly advise that further training assistance be sought to correct this behavior. A lot of this reactivity stems from Shelby previously living with a dominant dog who bossed her around. Super smart, learns fast and given time, patience and further socialization training will be the most loyal dog you would ever hope to meet. Shelby is an active girl who LOVES to play fetch, which is a great way for her to burn some energy before going out on your daily walk. Shelby does walk well on lead and cant contain her excitement when she knows its time for W.A.L.K.I.E.S... Its very cute! Such a sweetheart who is just looking for the right home to give her a new life, love, understanding and a commitment to her enrichment and training. Shelby is not recommended for a rural setting nor being around livestock and as such requires a secure and fenced yard. If you think you have the time and love to give to our beautiful girl Shelby? Then give BARC a call on 54412209 and book in for a meet and greet. Microchip # 956000005653273 Available for a meet and greet- 06/05/2022 Ready to leave the shelter- 07/05/2022

Thursday is Pet Projects Day with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief Centre...Have you ever seen a dog smile? One thing Maremmas are known for is their smiling...

Interesting fact.... A smile is a appeasement gesture, called a submissive grin to show you and other that they are no threat...Meet Luigi, the 2 year old Maremma. This boy has the best and biggest smile on him. Luigi is a big softy who is looking for a home where he can have room to run and play, which is what he loves doing. Luigi's previous owner has told us that he has been around ducks before and done really well with them, in saying this a new set of ducks/new house this will mean that he will possibly need to undergo the training again with his new owners. This boy wont suit a home that has a small yard, he is in need of a yard with a bit of land so he can have the room to move. Super cuddly and loving this boy will be your best mate, he does like to chat so you need to make sure your a where of this before coming into meet him.

Luigi walks well on lead and is super chill, okay with other dogs and loves to play how ever he is better suited with a dog that isn't going to annoy him all the time as he does like his own space some of the time. Kids over the age of 7 would be best for him, that way they could be out running around and playing with him. Luigi has never met a cat

If you would like to book in for a meet and greet with this boy please give BARC a call on 54412209 and have a chat.

Thursday is Robbo's Pet Project on Gold Central Victoria, with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief Centre....The best company you could want is at BARC, he goes by the name of Diesel. A big gentle giant that just wants someone to love. Diesel is looking for a home with NO other dogs or small animals as he doesn't like to share food or toys with them, However he is okay with other dogs and is fine to walk past them when out on a walk. Kids aged 10 years or older as he does get super excited when around kids and could knock them over by accident...Diesel would make an amazing best mate for someone who is keen on camping, fishing or just hanging out in the man cave because he will just be right beside you know matter what you do! He loves his cuddles and loves to play a good game of fetch, you do need 2 balls though as he doesn't like giving one back without the other being thrown haha. His big brown eyes look right at you which makes you just fall in love with him, he super keen on walks however does need some lessons on no pulling on lead. Still being young some training will be a great way to bond with each other and learn together. ' Having some large breed experience will help with adopting diesel as you will understand his needs a little more. Nice hard toys that he cant rip up easy will be ideal for this dude as they will keep him entertained through the day when your at work. This big goofball is just looking for an active family/single person to love and care for. If you think you have room in your home for this guy please give BARC a call on 54412209 and book in for a meet and greet. I am a gorgeous gal who found herself not in Kansas anymore and is seeking a home far away from any bad witches. I am a very confident, outgoing and affectionate cat who would make a wonderful companion. I love to smooch and would really benefit from someone who may have a bit of time to spend with me. I am not a social gal, so I am seeking a home where I will be the only feline family member. I would be okay in a home with children over the age of 10 who are pretty relaxed like I am. I'm clicking my ruby heels together and hoping for that someone who come and take me home, could that be you? If you would like to meet me please call BARC on (03) 5441 2209 to make a booking.' Thursday is Robbo's Pet Project with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief Centre...This is Izzy Izzy is fun loving, Izzy loves people, Izzy would make your home an amazing place. Izzy gets on well with everyone she meets, she does need to learn how to not jump up when excited and would be best suited to a home with teenage kids due to her bounciness. Super switched on and keen to learn she would benefit from someone who has a bit of a training back ground to teach her how to be a well mannered dog. Being a young girl it is still really important for her to have her socialization around other dogs and learn how to act around them in stead of just jumping over them and being all over them. She means well she just hasn't had that training that is needed. No cats or other small animal home is what's best for Izzy as she does like to chase the smaller types. Cuddles are the best thing in the world to Izzy, she enjoys them on the couch, on the floor, in your bed or even in her bed just lots of love all round. If you think your home will suit Izzy then give BARC a call on 54412209 to book in a meet and greet with her. If there are kids around they would need to be at least teenage or almost that age so they can understand that I will take time to settle, but I may enjoy sitting on their beds and watching there movies with them. I can be very supportive so I'm more then happy to help them with there homework!! Please give me a chance, I'm really a sweet cat I just need that time to settle in. Thursday is Robbo's Pet Project with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief Centre....this week, Missy has been surrendered to BARC and at only 9 months of age is desperate for a new home. Bursting at the seams with love this young lady is preferably looking for a home with plenty of time to spare in order to show her the love she craves. Dog social, suitable for a home with kids 6 plus who love to play and seeking an inclusive home, Little Missy here is keen to please and would relish in an environment willing to put some time into her training and provide her with routine. Surrendered through absolute no fault of her own, Missy was at first a little bit shy but has fast warmed up to the staff at the shelter and has won everybody's heart. Deserving of a new beginning this girl is desiring a home which will allow her inside, a special bed or spot in yours and lots and lots of affection. Another active, yet well mannered canine companion would be a welcomed addition into the life of Missy and she greatly enjoys playing with others. Missy has never met cats and as such any introduction would require a slow and patient approach with the facilities to keep the two separate initially. If you happen to think that this young pup is just what you have been searching for in a dog and are ready to have your heart stolen then go ahead and contact BARC on 5441-2209 to arrange a time to meet with Missy.... Go on, I dare you. Available to meet and adopt 15/02/2022 Ready to leave shelter following desexing procedure at a date to be confirmed. M/C #956000014688945

Thursday is Robbo's Pet Projects with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief Centre...this week it's all about Greyhounds, and what beautiful pets they make!  Arthur, Little Bess and Milly are pictured. These three pointy nosed critters would do well in a home with a large couch, with many hands to pat them throughout the day. They all get along with other dogs (and are particularly fond of their own kind).  Greyhounds are lazy dogs who are easily entertained with company, and only require a short walk once or twice a day. The don’t shed a lot of hair and are generally very clean dogs with low odour and are often suitable for people with a low level allergies to dogs. For more details, contact BARC at bendigoanimalreliefcentre.com.au or 5441 2209.

Thursday is Robbo's Pet Project on The Wake Up Call, with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief Centre...The wonderfully distinguished Tank recently found himself in the care of BARC through a change in his owners circumstances and is now looking for a bachelor pad to call his own. Seeking a home where he is the king, spending his time wearing smoking jackets and drinking dogtini's, lounging on the couch and watching dog house on the TV. At 7 years of age this boy has a very well developed silver muzzle but this only makes him more attractive... Think George Clooney type. A real lover when it comes to his humans, Tank is a smoocher and energetically shows his love with excitement and in abundance. Still super fit, Tank requires regular exercise and enrichment to keep him occupied and active. He does like company of his people and would be best suited to a home with someone home and able to be a constant in his world. Left to his own accord this boy can get into mischief. As he is approaching his senior years and being a staffy Hank does have some typical breed related ailments that may from time to time require some TLC and nursing, but this will be nothing new to fanciers of the breed or previous staffy owners. As we all know there can only be one Heff in the mansion and the deal is no different with Tank, he requires all the attention on him and will not have other dogs living under his roof. If you have just the bachelor pad for this distinguished and fun loving boy please reach out to BARC on 5441-2209 to arrange a possible VIP private meeting. Available to meet and adopt terms 02/02/22...Listen at 8:10 Thursday on The Wake Up Call for details... M/C #956000006244447

I love to hang out in my condo, watch out the world go by, and bathe in the afternoon sun. The staff here at BARC always say just how stunning I am, and of course they do! It's true. I tolerate being around other cats, but I would be best not homed with a cat or kitten that wants to play with me all the time. But a laid back cat who is happy keeping to themselves, would be a good match, or a home with no other cats at all. I am a very smoochie and fun loving girl, who would love to hangout on the couch and watch some tellie with you. If you think i am the cat for you please give BARC a call and tell them that you would love to meet the beautiful Torti cat called Kitty

Thursday is Pet Project day on The Wake Up Call with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief Centre...Today it's Max a 3 year old Border collie x. Let's hear from the boy himself....'Hi, I'm looking for my new family who can fit my needs, a family who likes to be outdoors more then indoors and loves adventure! My idea of an awesome life is sleeping under the stars at night, not locked up in the 4 walls that a lot of people find comfort in. So if your into Camping and even hiking as I'm also keen on long walks. The bonus is I walk really well on lead. Don't get me wrong, I may like to come inside every now and then, but I love my kennel and I'm very happy outside. I am in need of a home with NO cats or small animals. I Don't mind being the only 4 legged fur-baby in the family and I deserve the absolute best, I do get on with other dogs that are calm as I am still learning how to interact with them. I love kids and would be good in a home with kids over the age of 5. I'm not really a fan of the car however I could learn to love it with some training and time. I also don't know how to play fetch. I will chase the ball but I don't bring it back, so because I don't know how to play fetch it would mean that i will need a lot of walks/runs to burn my energy. If you have a small back yard that wont suit me as I do need a large yard or at least some land as I'm a talker and enjoy to voice my option about EVERYTHING to everyone. I can be trained out of my talkative nature, it would just mean we would have to work together. Being a border collie I'm super smart and love to learn, so training will be easy with me as I'm pretty switched on and oh so eager to please! If you think you could sleep out under the stars with me, please give BARC a call and have a chat to the staff and book in for a meet and greet. Lets reach for the sky together

Thursday is The Wake Up Call's Pet Project, with BARC; Bendigo Animal Relief Centre...Sticks is a 3 year old Blue heeler Cross Kelpie who was surrendered to BARC due to a change in her owners circumstances. Being a mix of working breeds, Sticks does possess typical traits of a working dog and is looking for the perfect home who is breed savvy and has some training back ground in order to assist her with becoming a well rounded individual. This beautiful girl would like a home where she is your number one, where she can be inside, sleep on your bed with you and be the big spoon. Sticks is looking for an only dog home, she is not suited to a home with kids under 12 and a home with no cats, fluffies or other small animals. Sticks is very well behaved on lead, but would need someone who is willing to do some training around other dogs, not suited to farm life and require secure fencing. Sticks is super fit and does need a lot of exercise, in need of someone who is able to take her for a walk twice a day to burn some energy. Sticks enjoys her cuddles and loves to be right next to you when out and about, she loves to have a play with toys and would enjoy the odd bone to have a chew on when your not at home. This sweet loving girl is just looking for someone to give her the time and training she needs to settle in and become your best friend. If you think sticks is the dog for you, give BARC a call and we can book you in for a meet and greet

For those of you are Disney fans you will be aware that Goofy is a Tall, anthropomorphic dog who wears a turtle neck and vest with pants, shoes, white gloves and a tall hat and if Goofy the Greyhound had a credit card he would be out of BARC and on a shopping spree as we speak for the above items. Goofy is looking for his Mickey and Mini mouse to love him and give him a full size couch to stretch out on after his morning walks. He lives up to his name and is certainly Goofy, always looking for the opportunity to be silly and make people laugh. Games of toy chasing you go get a stick are all part of our daily routine and he loves to wow crowds with his ability to make treats disappear. Although cartoon Goofy had lots of multiple specie friends our boy here can not be homed be cats or little animals including small dogs, however he is extremely social with medium to large sized dogs and would love a pal. Greyhounds like Goofy require minimal exercise and require a brisk walk twice a day, once exercised and Goofy had a walk or a ball game he will find somewhere and go to sleep for a few hours. Goofing around is fun but it makes him very sleepy. This Beautiful boy has a little white tip on the end of his tail that he loves to wave around for everyone to see. Bouncy Goofy walks well on a lead and has fair recall, he would be ok to live in a home kids over the age of 6 just big enough so he cant knock them over if he runs past. If you have been thinking of adding a long, sleek goofy looking dog into your home and are ready to be won over by a greyhound please give BARC a call on 54412209 and book in for a meet and greet appointment. Thursday is The Wake Up Call's Pet Project, with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief Centre....and to day, a few words from Austin...'My name is Austin, Im a fun loving 6 year old Mastiff Cross. I made my way to BARC as a stray and was never reclaimed, so I am now up for adoption "Yeah baby"...When I first came into BARC I was a little thin so the team here have been helping me gain some weight and I'm starting to look better so my new owners would need to be willing to help me put on some more weight with some TLC and yummy snacks . I Like to class myself as a fun loving dog who loves to be with my humans so I'm hoping my new home would be willing to allow me inside to sit on the couch with you watching Austin Powers. I would also love to sleep on your bed and have a cuddle. I am okay with other dogs, however like my personal space and another canine friend would need to be respectful of this. Calm and patient older kids 8+ would be welcome companions. I love my walks and would love a walk at least twice a day around the block or to the Park. If you think you have the best-est of homes for me give BARC a call 0354412209 and ask them to book you in for a meet and greet appointment . Archie is your typical young dog, energetic although very well behaved, full of fun and always looking for people to hang with or adventures to have. At 19 months old this special boy is looking for a new crew and just like Archie in the famous comic books he enjoys surrounding himself with those of a similar nature. Being a muscular but lanky Arab breed Archie is looking for his Jughead in the form of another well behaved and socialised dog to mess around with and maybe catch the eye of the girls as they set out on adventures. Previously living in a family situation with both children and a variety of other different animals, Archie seems to have a wide and very accepting social circle. Archie is very calm natured and well-mannered but could use some further obedience training, great to walk on a lead with no pulling and very accepting of treats Archie is a pleasure to be around. Looking for a new home to allow him both inside and outdoor access Archie does need some help with his confidence as he can occasionally turn a bit Scooby Doo and get jumpy at his own shadow. Just like Archie from the comic books, this dog is a wonderful individual who is only at BARC due to an unfortunate change in his previous owners circumstances. BARC would love to see him find a new forever home who has secure fencing, preferably another dog and with people who are fit and active and can keep him both physically and mentally enriched. If you think this bio has drawn your attention "poor comic pun intended" then please do not hesitate to pick up the phone and call BARC on 5441-2209 to discuss with staff your suitability and the possibility of a meet and greet. Thursday is The Wake Up Calls Pet Project with BARC, Bendigo Animal Relief Centre...Since the Joker has been incarcerated and Gotham is now a crime free town with Batman protecting the citizens, Harley here has found it a lot less fun and is in search of a new home and sidekick to cause mayhem with. Don't get us wrong, this Staffy/American bulldog mix is a wonderful girl who at 5 years of age is fit and active is certainly well mannered and very clever. Fun loving, Harley here can perform a few tricks and is super responsive to training. Looking for a home with people with a go get em attitude, who are not afraid to get up to a little bit of mischief, Harley could live with kids older than 6 years of age. Harley does cope well as the only dog in the home and certainly loves the attention all being on her. House trained with a desire to be an inside pet Harley is looking for a couch to curl up on with some PUPcorn and watch her favorite movies with her new people; at present The Suicide Squad is her go to movie. Although cat woman is also a foe fo Batman, Harley here is not a fan and would prefer a home that is not an ally to this feline villain or her type. If you think you have a fun filled lifestyle, are fit and active and want to hang around with this ever so cute and mischievous girl please do not hesitate to contact BARC and apply to adopt Harley. Please pick up the Batphone and call 5441-2209 in order to speak wih staff regarding a meet and greet with this super girl. Thursday is The Wake Up Call's Pet Project...Maycie is a name of English origin meaning " A Gorgeous Friend" and it is a name that certainly suits this lovely 16 month old Kelpie X who is at BARC and looking for a home after being surrendered. It is possible that Maycie is part Kelpie and the other part Tigger from Winnie The Pooh as she just loves to bounce. If you to are full of energy, perhaps go to the park or are looking for a dog to do some training with and become the number one Australian team at flyball or flipping discs then this girl would be an awesome team mate. Ideal for people that have had working dog experience, Maycie is full of potential and eager to learn. extremely social with other dogs. Maycie could live in a home with canine companions if they were extremely tolerant of a dog that loves to play. Best suited to a situation where someone works from home Maycie will fast become the joy in your day and the centre of attention. If you think Maycie may be just the dog you have been hoping would bounce into your life then please forward a completed preadoption questionnaire along with our COVID safe questions along to barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au...Ready to leave shelter 05/09/2021 M/C# 956000010843443...
