Criticism

Criticism is expressing disapproval of someone, or something based on perceived faults.
When we criticize, we put ourselves in the place of judge.
Would you rather align with Jesus and speak life into people and situations, or would you rather align with the Devil and the Pharisees, finding fault in everyone and everything?
Christ followers speak life.
It is a deceptive trap to think we don’t need people in our journey with Jesus!

The reason why God made the disciples wait 10 day is so that they would go deeper with Him in prayer, so that when the Holy Spirit came, they would be able to trust Him.

Heaven is more than a destination; it is a motivation.

Losses that are not grieved accumulate in our soul like heavy stones that weigh us down. A refusal to embrace our sorrows and to grieve them fully, condemns us to a shallow spirituality that blocks the work of the Holy Spirit in us.
To ignore these losses/interruptions is to live only half of life and to live a spirituality which is marked by unreality.
There is a profound depth, a profound spiritual and emotional growth which only happen in experiencing losses.

When we place our faith in Jesus Christ, we are joined to Him spiritually. We have “continuous atonement” by the blood of Jesus so when we sin the Holy Spirit doesn’t leave us. (we don’t lose our salvation)

Jesus has forgiven your sins.
Jesus is from eternity.
Jesus is the Baptizer in the Holy Spirit.

To those who listen and obey, God will speak to them in a language they understand, but to those who disobey and refuse to repent, at some point God will stop speaking and that silence should serve as a warning that their hearts have grown hard.
If a person refuses to listen to God long enough, He will stop speaking to them.

Learn the character of God.
Learn the voice of God.
Learn the voice of your flesh.
Learn to submit to a community of believers.
Learn to recognize what God is doing in a service.
Learn to ask whether that word is meant just for you.
Learn when to stop.
Learn to be very careful about directive prophecies.

Four Elements of “Walking in the Spirit”
A humble self-awareness that my flesh is still present and must be consistently resisted if I am to avoid the “deeds of the flesh.”
The decision to daily, and situation by situation, “crucify” the flesh with its passions and desires.
The confidence that the Holy Spirit dwells in me so I can access His guidance and strength any time I need Him.
The wisdom to build disciplines into my life which regularly restore my awareness of His presence and enable me to hear His voice.

Introducing Jesus

Week 1—Once we understand God’s original plan, we understand that relationship with the Holy Spirit is not optional, it is foundational.
Week 2—When we place our faith in Jesus Christ, we are joined to Him spiritually. We have “continuous atonement” by the blood of Jesus therefore, when we sin, the Holy Spirit doesn’t leave us.
Jesus is the “Lamb of God” that takes away the sin of the world.
Jesus is the pre-existent One who came to us from eternity.
Jesus is the baptizer with the Holy Spirit.
