In this live episode on 2/12/24, we engaged in a thought-provoking discussion sparked by "The Chosen" series, using it as a catalyst to explore the delicate journey of processing emotions such as grief and faith. Without spoiling key plot points, we delved into the emotional depth of the series and how it mirrors our own experiences of grappling with loss and finding hope in the midst of adversity. Throughout our conversation, we highlighted the role of Scripture in providing comfort and guidance, as well as the transformative power of honest prayer in navigating life's challenges.𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐞𝐧𝐧: https://linktr.ee/rothjennSubscribe to the 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐔𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭 YouTube Channel! Thrilled to share this Uplifting Identity conversation on living the blessed life with special guest, Bethsaida Olds!
Bethsaida grew up in church but it was at the age of 19 that God met her in a miraculous way while she was out living life apart from Him. From that point on, she decided to live the rest of her life as a "Thank You" to Him for his kindness and love towards her. She has a background in education, dedicated a season of her life to do anti-human trafficking work both overseas and in NYC, and has mentored girls and young women for over 15 years in church and nonprofit program management.
Bethsaida has been married for 7 years and is currently a SAHM of twin 5 year old girls and a 1 year old son. She is passionate about seeing women grow in their relationship with God, understanding God's Word, and living out their identity in Him boldly. Bethsaida shares this passion on her Instagram page. She has also created a virtual sisterhood for Bible studies and connecting with each other and offers mentorship for women who want a godly big sis to keep it real and Biblical during singleness and dating.

It’s my joy to share today’s episode on 𝐔𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 with 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐣𝐚! 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐣𝐚 has been in the ministry since she was 12 years old which was when she gave her life to the Lord. She was discipled well, taught to teach in bible studies throughout her youth, and now teaches on her own online ministry on Youtube, 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. She is married to a faithful music minister whom she also met at church and they've been ministering together for 8 years wherever they've been called, especially in the music team and the youth. Throughout her faith journey, Hanna has gone through many challenges which have made her who she is today.Check out 𝐔𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 with 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐣𝐚…𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬Jeremiah 29:11Psalm 23:4Psalm 46:1-2Matthew 6:25-26𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬You Can Trust God to Write Your Story by Nancy Demoss Wolgemuth: https://amzn.to/41TWHxC𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚!YouTube: @HopeandFutureDevotions Instagram: @hopeandfuturedevotionsSubscribe to the 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐔𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭 YouTube Channel! https://www.youtube.com/c/missionuplift𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐔𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭! Welcome to Uplifting Lineage, a five-week teaching series on the women in the genealogy of Jesus. Our guest teacher Aileen Torres closed out the series with a word on Mary.
Aileen Torres grew up in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC. Although she was raised in a Christian home, Aileen rebelled against her parents and the Lord. Her rebellion led to her leaving her home multiple times, a juvenile record for violence, alcohol abuse, drug use, and involvement in many toxic relationships all before the age of 16. Her life was heading down a dark downward spiral at a rapid speed but in 1997, during her junior year of high school, the Lord intervened and she was radically saved.
Aileen now pastors along side her husband at Radiant Church in Queens, NYC where she is committed to teaching about true freedom from sin and shame that Jesus offers to all. To learn more about Radiant, visit www.radiantchurchnyc.org

Welcome to Uplifting Lineage, a five-week teaching series on the women in the genealogy of Jesus. Our third week focuses on the story of Ruth with guest teacher Chanda Stegall.
From an early age, Chanda knew she wanted to be a teacher. She even started college pursuing a degree in Secondary Education, but changed her major as other passions pulled her away. As an adult, she was asked to teach Sunday School and Bible Study in her local church. Those teaching opportunities lead her back to her first love and to pursue a Master's degree in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary. Her seminary experience showed her the need to train others with the gift of teaching to consistently develop Bible lessons that not only inform, but transform others.
Chanda loves Jesus and she loves gathering His people. She is married and has three young adult sons. Vocationally, she serves in an administrative role supporting the vision of two dynamic leaders. She is committed to Paul's words in Ephesians 4:1, walk worthy of the calling you have received as she endeavors to glorify God and mature His people. If you are interested in connecting with Chanda for Bible teacher training, visit her website and enter your email address.

We’re back with another uplifting story and I’m grateful to share today’s episode on 𝐔𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 with 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧.
Tasha Marie is a christian speaker, blogger, musician and property entrepreneur on a mission to help others live a fulfilling life. She is chronic migraine warrior who started her blog/ministry back in 2016, with the aim to encourage and minister to people with chronic illnesses. We’re back with another uplifting story and I’m thrilled to share today’s episode with 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧 + 𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚 𝐋𝐚 𝐋𝐮𝐳, an amazing couple I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for quite awhile!
Loren and Kassandra are married with six beautiful children. Loren is the co-executive director of Streetlights, which is a ministry of creative communicators called to intentionally engage global urban culture with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Kassandra is on mission as she homeschools their kids. Together, they have the ministry of hospitality and encouragement, regularly opening up their home to others. True uplifters!
Loren was a guest on the podcast a few years back and shared about 𝐔𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 (episode 31 on Spotify or Apple podcasts). I’m excited for you to hear from both Loren and Kassandra together!
In this episode, Loren and Kassandra shared about marriage, ministry, and Scripture. This conversation is for everyone! You don’t have to be married to find encouragement as we chatted about wisdom, confession, and the overarching theme of God’s heart for us and that applies to all of us. It’s a conversation you don't want to miss and was especially uplifting to me personally! I’m grateful for these long time friends. The episode is live on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple podcasts.

We had a fun episode of 𝐔𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄 on Monday, November 21 with my friend, 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬. We chatted all about The Chosen TV series after watching Episodes 1 + 2 of Season 3 in theaters this past weekend. If you're a fan of The Chosen, you'll enjoy this conversation! And if you haven't watched the show yet, I imagine you'll be interested after hearing our chat!

It is a great blessing to share today’s episode with Gerard Long. It is a story of great suffering and simultaneously a story of great grace and faith.
Gerard Long is an author and, pastor, who had a 30-year-year career in banking, was the National Director of Alpha USA for seven years, and is the Founder and President of a non-profit corporation, Awakening to God Ministries.
In 2019, Gerard experienced a cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead twice in the span of 30 minutes. After coming back to life and recognizing the miracle He’d received, Gerard asked the question, “Why am I still here?” He sensed a divine calling to write his latest book, Living Hope, to share the treasures he discovered during a time of catastrophic suffering, including the suicide of his beloved son and, eight years later, the tragic death of his beautiful daughter. Gerard and his wife Jeannie recently moved from Malibu, California to Chichester, UK to care for Jeannie’s 90 year-old-mum.
I pray the Lord ministers to you and strengthens your faith through this powerful testimony of God’s grace.

Our summer themes of rest, rhythms, and renewal continue on the Mission: Uplift podcast! I’m thrilled to share today’s episode with you on Uplifting the Anti-Hustle with Sethlina Amakye.
Sethlina Amakye is a Kingdom-focused multi-passionate maker, designer, word nerd, and all-around creative. She is the owner of a faith-based online store for the modern Christian woman seeking inspiration for her lifestyle, heart, and soul.
Becoming homeless at 20 years old after finding herself in and out of multiple abusive relationships, she made the decision not to let tragedy define her future. Sethlina decided that vulnerability and transparency would be the only way to move forward. She uses her redemption story to speak to and mentor women all over the world.
Sethlina is "convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39).

We’re talking rest, rhythms, and renewal this summer here at Mission: Uplift! It’s a joy to share today’s conversation with Dr. Michelle Pokorny on Uplifting Soul Care.
Dr. Michelle Pokorny serves as an Adjunct Professor at Dallas Theological Seminary, teaching doctoral classes on Spiritual Formation, Spiritual Disciplines, and Soul Care. Michelle developed a passion for women’s ministry during her college years while serving as a counselor at Pine Cove Christian Camps. Her desire to see women thrive in their gifting led her to DTS to gain a solid biblical and theological foundation.
After receiving her MACE in Women’s Ministry, Dr. Pokorny worked with East-West Ministries, International, where she served in Human Resources and on the International Women’s Ministries Training Team. Michelle's doctoral work focused on burnout and soul-care among Christian leaders. Michelle is married to Mark and their favorite hobbies include traveling, exercising, and enjoying food and laughter with friends and family. They have one active toddler, Alexander.

We’re talking all things rest, rhythms, and renewal this summer here at Mission: Uplift! I’m excited to share today’s incredible conversation with Deanna Mason on Uplifting Rest.

I’ve been on a journey this month focusing on celebration as a spiritual practice. If you follow Mission: Uplift on social media, then you may have come across the #upliftingcelebrationchallenge. Well, celebration is just one of many spiritual practices and the topic of spiritual practices is one that I’m passionate about. Today’s episode is a real gift. I have the opportunity to bring you in on a conversation with one of my seminary professors.
Dr. Lanier Burns is Senior Research Professor of Theological Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. He is actively involved in administration in various organizations. He also devotes time to writing, conferences, and pastoral leadership. He has been involved in post-doctoral research at Harvard and Oxford Universities and for over forty years he has served as president of the Asian Christian Academy in India. Dr. Burns spends his spare time with his family and enjoying sports. He and his wife Kathy have four children and 11 grandchildren.
Dr. Burns is also the author of the book, Pride and Humility at War: A Biblical Perspective and we chat about his journey and story behind the book. While in seminary, I was blessed to have many amazing conversations with Dr. Burns and I’m glad to share one of them with you.

The Mission: Uplift podcast is back and I’m overjoyed to share this brand new uplifting episode with you! I had a great conversation with long time friend, Loren La Luz, all about Uplifting Light — the light of Christ and the light of God’s Word.
Loren La Luz is the Co-Executive Director of Streetlights Bible. His responsibilities include overseeing the day to day finance operations of the ministry — managing partnerships, donor relations, travel, as well as the Streetlights online store. Whether drumming for Prisims, working the cameras on set, crunching numbers or loving on people, Loren is dedicated and committed to accomplishing it all with passion, integrity, and excellence unto the Lord. A Chicago native, Loren is married to the love of his life, Kassandra, and they’ve been blessed with six beautiful children. He is part of the church body of Chicago Tabernacle.

We started off the year with a theme and focus of Uplifting Prayer. On Monday nights in January we had live teaching on prayer on YouTube, which concluded this past week (be sure to check it out!). We’re also sharing weekly podcast episodes with interviews and testimonies on prayer.
This week’s Uplifting Prayer interview is with Elizabeth Ramos.
Elizabeth Ramos is a woman who loves God, her family, her friends, good food and great fellowship. Elizabeth has had the privilege of working in ministry for over 15 years in New York City where she’s had the honor of leading women in prayer and overseeing leaders.
Elizabeth is married to Josue Ramos and has two amazing children, Fredy and Bekah. Elizabeth is currently in a season of transition. She has recently moved to Texas and is excited, nervous and curious to see what God is going to do in and through her life.
Elizabeth has experienced the power of prayer and knows what a gift it is to be able to come before God’s throne confidently with every type of prayer knowing God hears and is moved by them.

We’re starting off 2021 with a theme and focus of Uplifting Prayer. On Monday nights we have live teaching on prayer on YouTube and we’re also sharing weekly podcast episodes with interviews and testimonies on prayer.
Our first Uplifting Prayer interview is with my Mom, Alison Roth, who has been an example as a woman of prayer in my own life for as long as I can remember. I am the product of a praying mother and I am grateful for the opportunity to share our conversation (recorded before the end of the year). I pray it encourages you on your prayer journey.
This has been a heartbreaking week. We are praying, lamenting, grieving, and calling on the name of Jesus. If you need prayer, especially in light of this week’s events, please feel free to submit a prayer request on our website. Details about an upcoming Zoom prayer meeting will be posted on our social media soon.

Episode 024 | Uplifting Advent | Angela Cirocco
We’ve had a wonderful couple of weeks in our Uplifting Advent series on YouTube. This past Monday, Angela Cirocco taught on the fight for joy and it brings me great joy to share it with you here.
Angela Cirocco loves Jesus and dark roast coffee, in that order. She moved to Texas from Buffalo, NY 5 years ago and still can't get enough of Tex-Mex. The unexpected joy of her life is serving as the Minister to Women at Northwest Bible Church in Dallas.
Angela has a Masters from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Bachelors in Nursing from Roberts Wesleyan College. No matter the setting, she delights to walk with women as they discover Jesus' love and grace. She praises God for air conditioning in the Texas summers, and come fall, Angela roots for the Buffalo Bills while yearning for the majestic colorful leaves of the Northeast. She misses snow only in December.

Brandi Benson shared a rich message on peace in our second week of Uplifting Advent, a live four-week teaching series on YouTube. I am excited to share it with you here.
Brandi Benson is a disciple, a wife, a mother, a teacher, and a social media holdout. The story of God told by God fascinates her endlessly. She is a lover of stories and storytellers and a book hoarder with no hope of recovery.
Praying you are encouraged by this word on peace. Check out Uplifting Advent…

How do we battle for hope when we’re struggling with hopelessness? What do we do when grief and despair takes over and we’re unable to get out of bed in the morning?
Christian Williams shared a powerful and transparent message on the battle for hope in our first week of our live teaching series on YouTube, Uplifting Advent. You definitely want to take the time out of your day to listen to this message…
Christian Williams is just a girl trying to laugh while she follows Jesus. A grad of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, she went on to earn a Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. Christian yearns for people to press hard into the freedom and joy of trusting Jesus in all things and is deeply committed to making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ultimately, she want to see believers know and love their neighbor because they know and love Jesus.
Christian currently serves on staff at Christ Community Church as the Director of Women’s Discipleship in Fayetteville, AR where she gets to equip women to own their place within the body of Christ through rootedness in Scripture, intentional relationships that sharpen them as image bearers, and service to the church and to the city. She’s also the co-host of the Bad Seminarians podcast. Things that give her life: conversations, friendships, baking desserts and eating desserts, and creating content. And you can always hear her singing.
Today you will hear her preaching. Check out Uplifting Advent… the Battle for Hope…

Episode 020 | Uplifting Planning | Darian Wilson
There is so much packed in today’s episode (and in the bonus episode right after this!). And it’s not going to be what you think at all. Darian Wilson and I had an amazing chat about planning with hope in the midst of 2020 as well as testimonies about God’s surprises at the most unexpected and unplanned times this year. We talk a bunch about Jesus, community, Target, and then had an afterparty with more Jesus and shared our deep appreciation and love for our sister circle. And it all has to do with Uplifting Planning!

The Bible tells us to practice or pursue hospitality. What does that look like in this season? Is hospitality even possible in the midst of a pandemic? This week’s episode is on Uplifting Hospitality with Fanchion Kenady. She is an amazing example of one who faithfully stewards her gift of hospitality in business, ministry, relationships, and her every day interactions.
Fanchion Kenady is the proprietor of the Arlington based custom herbal tea company, Fanchion K’s TeaTime. As both a business and pastoral leader, who has attained vast experience in working with women's ministry and community based initiatives, Fanchion is highly regarded for her ability to merge foundational spiritual teachings with focused entrepreneurship.
Fanchion's passions are largely driven by a desire to spread God's love through hospitality, teaching the word of God, and inspiring others to achieve higher levels of self-awareness and growth through spiritual based messaging. Working to expand her thriving enterprise, Fanchion remains committed to serving love, hope, confidence, and inspiration with every move she makes.
I enjoyed this conversation with Fanchion and trust you will as well. Check out Uplifting Hospitality and be sure to stick around to the end for an exciting announcement!

Episode 018 | Uplifting Truth | Daniel Torres
We’ve been chatting with different pastors throughout October which is Pastor Appreciation month. I’m so happy to introduce you to a pastor who also happens to be a dear friend and brother, Daniel Torres. In this episode we talked about Uplifting Truth and had a wonderful conversation packed with the truth of God’s word.
Pastor Daniel Torres is the husband of Aileen Torres and the father of teenage girls, Madison and Sydney. He gave his life to God at the age of 16 and has always felt the call to serve. He currently serves as the Lead Pastor of Radiant Church NYC in Maspeth, Queens in NYC. His passion is to see people come to know the life changing grace that is found in Jesus and to see a city and its communities transformed. With a heart to build a church of people from every race, age and walk of life, Daniel is focused on being part of a church that resembles heaven.
The plan was for this episode to go live last Tuesday while it was still October but technical difficulties prevented me from posting. But you know what, maybe it was meant for today. It’s always a good day to hear about the uplifting truth of Jesus, but on this day in this week of this year, I encourage you to really lean in and grab hold of the promises of God.

It’s great to be back after a break and to share UPLIFTING HOPE!
Contrary to what many people believe, hope is not wishful thinking or wanting something bad enough. It’s the confident expectation and certainty of what will come to pass in the future, no matter the present challenges.
This kind of hope isn’t a fading feeling. It’s a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Glad to be back after a short pause and also to check in before another little extended break for the rest of the summer. But I’m still on a mission to uplift!
I mentioned in my early podcast introductions that I deal with some ongoing health stuff. July was a bit more challenging so I was in rest mode and I still am to a certain degree. I’m simultaneously working on a few things at once, often from my bed, so wisdom cries out from the streets that I need to pace myself.
In light of how the past month (actually years) or so has been, I’m here to chat about Uplifting Limitations. I know, limitations don’t sound very uplifting. But stick with me. There’s something here for all of us…

It's hard to imagine good coming out of the darkest and most uncertain times in our lives. In episode 12, I chat with Jonathan Vasquez, who shares a powerful testimony of God's faithfulness and the unexpected gifts that God provided in the midst of a very difficult season of hardship within his family.
Jonathan Vasquez is a young adult New Yorker who longs to see Jesus move through NYC as well as watch the Mets win a world championship. He leads The Kollective Young Adults Ministry at Radiant Church and is the host of the Book of Juan podcast. Jonathan's goal is for young adults to find community and purpose in Christ and to use what God has gifted him with, for His glory.

I had a great conversation with my friend Joshua Bitu Das about Uplifting Witness in Episode 11. As he shared his story, we talked about the grace of listening, the rhythms of a missionary disciple, and what it means to live a questionable, countercultural life for the sake of the gospel.
Joshua Bitu Das was born and raised in Chittagong, Bangladesh. He was born into a Christian home which is not common in Bangladesh as ninety percent of the country practices Islam. At a young age, Joshua gave his life to Christ and desired to serve Him.
At 18 years old, God impressed upon Bitu the need for a ministry geared towards the young people of Bangladesh. This desire was the catalyst God used to start Witness Ministries. Since 2009, Witness has conducted many outreach projects throughout Bangladesh such as blanket distributions, Christmas concerts, and evangelism camps.
In 2016 Bitu moved from Bangladesh to Dallas, Texas in order to pursue his ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary. During his time at DTS, Bitu's vision for Witness Ministries has grown into a desire to train pastors, provide theological education, and disciple Christians within the country of Bangladesh. Bitu married his wife Meagan in 2019. They plan to return to Bangladesh in the near future to carry out the ministry God has called them to there.
Due to COVID-19, Witness Ministries has suspended all their gatherings for the unforeseeable future. However, they have set up a COVID-10 Relief Fund and are accepting donations to help families in this dire time. If you feel led to give or have any questions about the ministry, please contact Joshua Bitu Das.

Episode 009 | Uplifting Fruitfulness | Keli Reese
What does it really mean to be fruitful? Is it possible to be fruitful in every season? In episode 9, I chat with Keli Reese about Uplifting Fruitfulness. Keli shares lessons learned in a season of pruning and how it's led to greater fruit in her life and ministry.
Keli Reese is the founder and speaker for Ministry in Mothering.
Ministry in Mothering is designed to encourage and equip moms to live out Biblical truths, while in the throes of motherhood. Keli uses humor, transparency, and the Word of God to expose the ongoing reality of anxiety and guilt, and to help moms replace it with fulfillment and joy.
Keli has been married to her husband Ken for 14 years. Together, they are raising their 5 children – Kenneth III, Kameron, Kenedi, Kylan, and Khloe – who are, as Keli calls them, her primary Ministry in Mothering.

Episode 007 | Uplifting the Abundant Life | Brittany J. Turner
Is it possible to experience abundance? Even in the midst of hardship? In Episode 7, Uplifting the Abundant Life, I chat with my good friend, Brittany J. Turner, about the abundant life in Christ. Brittany shares her story and what God has taught her on the journey leading up to a revelation of abundance; a message she now proclaims in ministry.
Also, be sure to check out Brittany's website! She has an online women's summit coming up on June 25-26th that you don't want to miss. Registration opens on Wednesday, June 17th, and there's an early bird special for those who sign up in the first few days. Scholarships are available by request.
A wife and a mom of three girls, Brittany J. Turner is passionate about connecting her generation to the truth of scripture and the love of God; empowering them to live in the abundant life purchased by Christ for all at Calvary. With a Bachelors degree from Howard University, and a Masters degree in Divinity from Regent University, Brittany uses her gifts to help God's women connect to the truth of scripture and as a result creating a lasting connection and relationship with Christ.
Empowering others through wit, humor, deep scriptural insight, and her bold personality, she helps women know that they are seen and supported on their faith journey. This is the heart behind her platform and the online community she is creating. Her goal is to let women know they are seen and supported as they pursue their God given passions and goals for His glory not in a future idealistic version of themselves, but right now in their present, everyday, and seemingly ordinary reality. Born and raised in the DMV, she currently resides in Dallas, TX with her family.

.Episode 006 | Uplifting Lament
I took last week off from the podcast to grieve and lament. Even this week, I did not feel comfortable jumping back in with regularly scheduled programming like nothing happened. Everything has happened but the reality is it’s been happening - for far too long. Systemic racism and evils of white supremacy have been at work since the very beginning of this nation.
As the Church of Jesus Christ, we are called act and speak and change. And that goes far beyond a retweet or politically correct press release. But first, before anything, we must search our hearts and lament and allow God to do a deep personal work. And it’s not a one time deal.
After prayerfully considering what to say this week, before returning to interviews, I decided to share some of the laments I’ve penned over the last few weeks.
(I recorded this earlier this week but posted it a little late. I hope you can hear the heart behind it over the neighbor’s dog barking.)

Episode 005 | Uplifting Community | Chanda Stegall
In Episode 5, Chanda Stegall and I have a conversation about the importance and the blessing of true biblical community. I know you’ll enjoy our talk. We had a wonderful conversation. In fact, it was so great, that I almost forgot I was recording! So please excuse all of my mmmms and bursts of laughter that should have been muted. (insert facepalm emoji)
In Uplifting Introductions, I shared the virtual tone of Mission: Uplift and how it’s you sitting with me and my friends in my interwebs living room. That’s exactly what this episode is. Uplifting Community! I also mentioned I am a cackler, so I guess you were warned. You’ll quickly understand why I responded the way I did!
Chanda has played a significant role in the area of community for me personally and for a group of women, particularly in the last few months. She shares about our Tending Together group along with various experiences of community throughout the years, both inside and outside her home. There’s so much wisdom to glean from Chanda. She uplifts community so well and there is truth for everyone in Uplifting Community.
Chanda Stegall has been married to her college sweetheart, Fabian, for 20 years and they have three, growing, hungry, teenage sons. She has a desire to develop biblical communities and foster a love for biblical literacy. Chanda enjoys Instagram and podcasting and she uses both to share relevant Bible teaching and entertaining stories that encourage and equip others. Visit her website, chandastegall.com to see her current projects and to follow her on social media and YouTube.
