The Centre for Student Counselling and Development (CSCD) forms part of the Division of Student Affairs. In the CSCD there are five Units – the Unit for Psychotherapeutic and Support Services, the Unit for Academic Counselling and Development, the Unit for Graduand Career Services, the Disability Unit and the Equality Unit. Each unit provides students with specialised support and services. The Equality Unit provides additional support to staff.
The University of Stellenbosch Investment Society (USIS) provides a dynamic platform that bridges the gap between the corporate world and student lecture hall.
This is achieved through hosting functions with various corporate leaders and firms, side courses that offer insight into trading, as well as what to expect when writing further qualifications, such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exams.
SLS conversations is back with a new season!
Stellenbosch University campus has entered into its election season and one of the effects culminated by the current lock-down restrictions, is the process of student leadership elections on campus. In this episode we explore how leaders from different student leadership structures within the University mitigated the effects of the current lock-down restrictions. The episode highlights the practicality and limitations of online platforms for student engagement and voting.

The interconnectedness of social and political identities (gender, race, class, sexuality, etc) creates different modes of discrimination. Ultimately those who hold power can administer all forms of discrimination. In this week's conversation, students discuss the intersectionality of social and political identities in relation to power.

Episode 2 is the first of a three-part series of "Master" Harold ...and the boys. Set during the South African apartheid-era, "Master" Harold ...and the boys depicts the effects of institutionalized racism, oppression, inequality, alcoholism on the father-son relationship between Hally and Sam.
Join us on this week's episode where students from Stellenbosch University will be giving a review of the play, highlighting what stood out to them.
