Autoimmune and chronic illnesses are a global crisis, with an estimated 50 million sufferers in the US alone. In our world of modern medicine that has been able to drastically reduce both disability and mortality for so many diseases—from heart disease, stroke, HIV, and even cancer—what is fueling this seemingly unstoppable twenty-first century pandemic?
In this eye-opening, provocative book, Steven Phillips, MD, and his former patient, singer/songwriter Dana Parish, take on the medical establishment. "Chronic" reveals striking evidence that a broad range of microbes cause a variety of recurrent conditions and autoimmune diseases. Chronic delves into the history and science behind common infections that are difficult to diagnose and treat, debunks widely held beliefs by doctors and patients alike, reveals how medicine got the facts patently wrong, and provides solutions that empower readers to get their lives back.
Dr. Phillips was already an internationally renowned physician specializing in complex, chronic diseases when he became a patient himself. After nearly dying from his own mystery illness, he experienced firsthand the medical community’s ignorance about the pathogens that underlie a range of chronic conditions—from fibromyalgia, lupus, multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue syndrome, and rheumatoid arthritis to depression, anxiety, and neurodegenerative disorders. And through his tireless investigation, he was ultimately able to put together the clues and save himself when his doctors couldn’t. Parish, too, watched her health spiral after twelve top doctors missed an underlying infection that caused heart failure and other sudden, debilitating physical and psychiatric symptoms. Ultimately, she was successfully treated by Dr. Phillips. Now, they’ve come together with a mission: to change the current model of simply treating symptoms, often with dangerous, lifelong drugs, and shift the focus to finding and curing root causes of chronic diseases that affect millions around the world.
You know George Newbern for his roles as Charlie in the ABC-TV series “Scandal” and as Bryan MacKenzie in “Father of the Bride” films. He is also an in-demand voiceover actor who brings to life the story of WE BEGIN AT THE END. This fast-moving crime drama by debut novelist Chris Whitaker, is poised to be the breakout thriller of the year. A #1 Indie Next pick, it has also received high praise from authors like Louise Penny, B.A. Paris, and early praise from outlets like AARP and O, The Oprah Magazine.

We all know that March marks a year of pandemic, quarantine, and life as we’ve never known it. From Caldecott honoree LeUyen Pham, Outside, Inside is a moving picture book celebrating essential workers and the community coming together to face the global challenges of COVID-19. LeUyen Pham wanted to tell a story for children that would help them recognize themselves.
The Angry Therapist who has helped thousands of men find more happiness in their relationships and more purpose in their lives now shares his insights with everyone in this powerful guide—self-help in a shotglass—covering essential topics, from vulnerability and posturing to workouts and women.
Deep in post-divorce soul searching, John Kim came to an astonishing realization: he was a miserable f*ck who might just be to blame for the problems in his life. Armed with this new insight, he began The Angry Therapist blog—an admission that, while he was a licensed therapist and life coach, he was no better than the people who sought his advice. In his first post, “My Fucking Feelings,” he wrote about the struggles and shortcomings that had led him to this point. As his work caught on, catapulting him into the role of unlikely and unconventional guide for thousands of people all over the world, Kim evolved from behaving like a boy to living like a man—and showed his clients how to do so as well.
In I Used to Be a Miserable F*ck, Kim delivers the dos and don’ts for stepping up and into manhood, which he defines by transparency and strength of character, not six-pack abs or a corner office. With his signature no-nonsense approach that will make you laugh and think, Kim takes you on a rugged, rough and tumble road trip of self-exploration and discovery, sharing his wisdom and insights, such as why:
Being nice is for boys, and being kind is for men
Scheduling man dates could make you a better friend, lover, and human being
Peeing in the shower is a sign of a larger problem
Arguing, judging, and answering, “I dunno” are keeping you from a healthy relationship, a great career, and a happy life
We are not born men. We are born boys. The transition from misery to meaning is an internal process that requires work: reflection, pain, courage, and sometimes, a rebirth. Kim knows because he’s been there. The truth is, men weren’t meant to just pay bills and die. With this book as your guide, you will love hard, walk tall, and find a life filled with purpose and passion.
From the country’s leading relationship experts, authors of the million-copy bestseller The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work, and founders of the world-renowned Love Lab, comes Eight Dates: Essential Conversations for a Lifetime of Love by John Gottman and Julie Schwartz Gottman.
This program of eight lively, conversation-based dates will result in a lifetime of understanding and commitment, whether you’re newly in love or have been together for decades.
Eight Dates is like having two of the world’s leading relationship scientists at your table coaching you on how to address the topics—from trust to money to dreams—that make or break relationships.
Welcome to date night.
He's an activist an 8 time Emmy Award Winner and a TV Academy Hall Of Famer. I know him best as Lou Grant on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and it was such an honor and a pleasure to talk to him this morning.
The Mary Tyler Moore Show was so much a part of my childhood. As a little girl I would watch the show every Saturday night on CBS and I would dream about living the life that Mary Tyler Moore was living. She represented much of what I aspired to be as a young girl Mary was an independent business woman, living on her own, working in a TV newsroom, (radio station for me) experiencing boyfriend issues and I look at my life now and it looks very similar...mission accomplished!(well not the boyfriend problems)
One of my favorite lines on the show was when Lou would tell Mary "You got spunk!" and she would say thank you Mr. Grant and he would add "I hate spunk!" Cracked me up every time!
Great memories...I am living a most charmed life and am so blessed to be able to talk to so many celebrities who have been such a big part of my childhood. Thank you Mr. Asner for being so charming~

I did live broadcasts with Kristen Nauss for many years at the Michigan Blood Bank in Grand Rapids when I was working at a local radio station. We've always kept up with each other on Facebook and she followed my colon cancer journey back in 2009. Colon cancer is close to Kristen's heart because her father died from it.
Well, Kristen was recently diagnosis with Stage 2 Triple Negative HER2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Breast cancer. In December her mammogram came back negative her BRCA1 & 2 tests were negative too but she felt a lump during a self exam and that is how it was discovered.
I wanted to give Kristen a platform to share her story because I think it is am important one to share and with Breast Cancer Awareness Month coming up in October now is the perfect time to join her on this journey. She has some things she wants to tell you with the hope of saving even one life. If you would like to offer encouragement, wise words or prayers you can reach out to this warrior woman who is journaling about her experience on Facebook at www.facebook.com/KristenNauss

The comeback of Detroit is poised to be the greatest turnaround story of American history. This documentary illustrates why the history and the future of Detroit matters in the global landscape.
Grammy winning singer Michael Bolton celebrates the golden age of Detroit - featuring its native entertainment legends like Francis Ford Coppola, Jerry Bruckheimer, Aretha Franklin, Smokey Robinson, Alice Cooper and many more - and reveals the landscape of the new Detroit being built by entrepreneurial moguls Dan Gilbert, Michael Ilitch and the Big 3.
Told through the eyes of Bolton's own discovery, this important story has remained until now largely obscured by mainstream media's preference to portray only the devastation of the city's downfall. This is the story of the American Dream. Rated PG-13
I have been a fan of All My Children soap opera for as far back as I can remember and of course Erica Kane was the character that I was always drawn to most. She was a strong, independent woman at a time when as a young girl I didn't see much of that on TV. Agnus Nixon wrote Erica Kane to be a woman who wanted to love, independence and fame not unlike so many other women who watched All My Children faithfully every day. We could live vicariously through Erica. Susan made her a lovable character because she so perfectly created Erica to be a multifaceted woman.
Today I had the opportunity to go back and time and have a conversation with the woman I watched faithfully everyday when I arrived home from school. That's why you can hear I get a little emotional near the end because it sunk in and I realized I was actually talking to someone who was so much a part of my youth if only through the TV screen.
Susan has done Pilates now for 20+ years and invented the Susan Lucci Pilates Pro Chair and as I said to her if using her Pilates Pro Chair helps me look more like her sign me up!
Susan Lucci also has an activewear line that perfectly transitions from pilates, to lunch, to a quick stop at the mall. You'll always look beautiful and fashionable in the Susan Lucci Collection. Check it out at the link below:

It was a pleasure interviewing Michael Fishman today he struck me as being a regular guy and it was just so refreshing. Humble at heart and appreciative of everything and everyone who has come his way.I know it was just a TV show but Roseanne raised some really healthy kids in real life.
Michael Fishman started his acting career at 6 years old playing D.J. Conner in ABC’s Golden Globe® Award-winning, iconic sitcom, “Roseanne.” Throughout its nine-season run, Fishman was twice nominated for Best Young Actor Under Nine Years of Age in the Young Artist Awards and won the 1995 Young Artist Award for Best Performance: Young Actor in a TV Comedy Series.
After “Roseanne” ended, Fishman earned venerable guest roles on “Seinfeld” and “Walker, Texas Ranger”; as well as a recurring role on “Hitz,” alongside Andrew Dice Clay. In addition to television, Fishman’s feature film credits include “A.I. Artificial Intelligence,” directed by Steven Spielberg; and a recent appearance in “Undrafted,” alongside Jim Belushi and directed by Joseph Mazzello. Fishman was also the co-host of “The Roseanne Show” with Roseanne Barr, which ran for two years.
In addition to acting, Fishman has had success as a producer and even started working behind the camera doing set building, set design, camera operation, assistant directing and props. In 2007, Fishman was part of the art department group that was Emmy®-nominated for Outstanding Set Design/Art Direction on “Sports Science.”
Fishman can next be seen reunited with his television family on the revival of ABC’s “Roseanne” premiering in 2018.
He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.

Ben Greenman Author Of Dig If You Will The Picture An Investigative Look At Music Icon Prince
Description:
Ben is what most people would describe as a "Super Fan" who also happens to be a best selling author. He has been a fan of Prince for decades and tomorrow April 21st, 2017 marks the one year anniversary of Prince's death.
I remember playing Prince on the radio back at WDRQ in Detroit beginning in the late 1970's all the way through till the present. To me Prince was a complex man with lots of opposing thoughts and views, he did things his way and fought to keep the music a clear reflection of who he was and what he wanted his art form to represent. He was always pushing boundaries...always. What I enjoyed most about Ben's book is that it is not filled with gossip and salacious stories about Prince but it is more of an unbiased investigative look at an artist that forever changed the landscape of music.
Die-hard fans of Prince will enjoy the psychology, the behind the scenes look and all the information about certain songs and how they came to be as well as the Purple Rain movie. I especially enjoyed the references to Morris Day and The Time, Sheila E., Apollonia and Vanity 6.
"Dig If You Will The Picture" is written in such a way that the casual fan is able to enjoy it just as much as the die-hard. The book title "Dig If You Will The Picture" is a lyric pulled from the song When Doves Cry..."Dig if you will the picture of you and I engaged in a kiss" (I misspoke in the interview and said "you and I embraced in a kiss"). Be sure to pick up this book in your local book store and online at:
