  • Bryton had the unique experience of being at Clemson pre-pandemic and then during the pandemic
  • Had dreams of playing in the NFL but he never let it consume him and does regret not enrolling at IMG Academy because he thinks about what could have been at times
  • Knew after the third time when he tore his ACL in the same knee that he would no longer pursue playing the game that he loved
  • The decision to stop playing was based on his understanding of the importance of having a long-term vision mindset and thinking about 40-year decisions instead of the here and now

  • Damon realizes that every day is a gift and often times it's even hard for him to understand his journey
  • Grew up in Port Arthur, TX where his dad, Bob West, was the Sports Editor for the "Port Arthur News" and he describes Port Arthur as a melting pot
  • It wasn't until he was around 11 years old that he realized he could throw the football really well
  • When he was 9, a female babysitter sexually abused him which ultimately led him to seek out adult vices such as drinking and smoking marijuana
  • Would attend the University of North Texas on a football scholarship as the starting QB
  • Addiction to methamphetamine would derail his post-college career in the financial sector and he would resort to burglarizing people's homes to pay for his addiction
  • He would be sentenced to 65 years in prison in 2009 and heard the message of the coffee bean from an inmate (Mr. Jackson) in the county jail before he was moved to a Texas maximum-security prison
  • Was paroled in 2016 and wrote his first book and autobiography called "The Change Agent" which is now being made into a movie
  • Sports has taught him to be a team player and to be a successful team you have to be able to communicate and bond with sports providing that outlet and sports is part of something bigger than just games

  • Steffi is recovering from her 3rd shoulder surgery
  • Her parents knew immediately that she had a different drive and determination at an early age
  • She's always looked up to her older brother and would always want to compete with and against him
  • Her dad and uncle founded Firehouse Subs
  • She loved tennis more at an earlier age but an injury stopped her from pursuing tennis and shifted her focus to basketball
  • Earned Miss Florida Basketball in 2006 but wasn't heavily recruited and her dream was to play at the University of Florida
  • Signed with Florida Gulf Coast out of high school and the team lost in the national championship game finishing with a 34-1 record
  • She decided to transfer to be closer to home and enrolled at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, FL because she didn't want to sit out and her brother played there
  • Entered Florida as a preferred walk-on but wasn't given any special treatment and would eventually be named team captain her senior season
  • The cornerstone of her family is her mother and it was a significant challenge for the entire family when her mom was placed in the ICU for 54 days due to Guillain–Barré syndrome
  • While her mom was sick and when her brother suffered a head injury, she realized that she was built to be the family stabilizer
  • She never intended to get into broadcasting but an unexpected phone call led to being hired by ESPN to call 13 games, so she was quickly thrown into the fire
  • Eventually would like to look at the more creative side of TV with producing and directing

  • Michelle is still her "club name" so if someone asks for her name while out and she doesn't want to give it to them she will say, Michelle
  • Parents are Haitian immigrants and Corinne had to grow up fast interacting with adults since her mom didn't speak English
  • She considers herself a risk-taker and a rebel as well because rarely do well-behaved women make or change history

  • Proper name of gym is The Junkyard not Junkyard Fitness; only used the word fitness because it was least expensive for website rights and social media
  • Co-founding The Junkyard with Marcus Brown and name came from former Clemson football teammate Dorian O'Daniel
  • His time at Clemson prepared him for this next chapter in his life as an entrepreneur because of his time with Coach Brent Venables who Ben believes is one of the greatest leaders that he's been around
  • Started the gym in January 2018 and at the beginning and for the first four months they were conducting free classes until they officially opened on June 4th, 2018 in Anderson, SC
  • Culture and community is different at The Junkyard and that has been Ben's goal is to build that type of community through relationships
  • His dad raced motocross and that was the plan for him growing up as the family would travel so he and his brother Garrett could race
  • Broke his arm which got infected and that ultimately ended his racing career as a young kid and transitioned to football and baseball
  • Signed with Clemson University to play football and immediately noticed that talent and the preparation are the two key differentiators from high school to college
  • Coach Venables pushed him harder than any other player to the point that during his Sophomore year he decided to quit but Coach Venables convinced him to stay
  • Even though he believes that Coach Venables broke him down because he knew he could handle it, Ben feels that he responds best with positive motivation and praise
  • He was pissed that he didn't get drafted but then after being released by the 49'ers, he didn't even try hard and was purposefully not trying so teams wouldn't want to sign him
  • Sports has made him who he is today, taught him how to be a leader and taught him how to work

  • Volleyball was her first love and was not a natural at basketball when she first started playing in middle school

  • Started getting recruited by colleges during her sophomore year in high school and she was also recruited by other local high schools
  • Former LSU Head Coach Sue Gunter told her things that she didn't want to hear which she really appreciated and decided to attend LSU instead of Tennessee or Florida St.
  • Fans in Chicago have still been very supportive of her decision to request a trade to play elsewhere and she would have sat out the entire season if needed
  • Minnesota was the only team she wanted to play for because she felt they had a true chance to win and she already had played with Seimone Augustus, Maya Moore, Rebekkah Brunson, and Lindsay Whalen
  • Being overseas is extremely tough and her go-to meal, when she returns to the US, is her mom's mac-n-cheese
  • Always enjoyed watching Shaq, Amar'e Stoudemire, and Kevin Garrett play
  • She doesn't want to put any time limits on how much longer she will play
  • Currently studying to be a mortician when she does stop playing and has always been a curious person and wanting to know how things work

  • Keri is paying the price now for her scholarship as a volleyball player at Syracuse with the wear & tear over the years on her body
  • Having upcoming shoulder surgery after playing dodgeball and realized that she couldn't throw the ball as she could in the past
  • Even at an early age was athletic and enjoyed sports and any type of physical activity
  • Started gymnastics but quickly outgrew the sport and eventually fell in love with volleyball and always wanted to compete with the boys
  • Sports was a way to bond with her dad
  • She loved the recruiting because she could explore schools outside of the northeast but felt pressure to state in-state for financial reasons and attended Syracuse University
  • Her coaching experience at Syracuse was not a good experience but knew that there would be more than volleyball later in life
  • Started writing while at Syracuse and fell in love with earning an undergraduate and master's degree
  • Began her career at the NCAA but soon felt like she was trapped and sought for a way out with the help of Jim Boeheim, Syracuse Men's Basketball Head Coach
  • Started with ESPN in 2003 as a Senior Publicist and currently serves as Senior Director Communications
  • Life changed for her in 2008 while vacationing in Italy where she survived a violent rape attempt
  • Still battles with the thought that she didn't trust her gut and say no to the invitation to visit her assailant's apartment
  • In the moment of "fight or flight", she knows that there's a third component of "freeze" but due to her sports background she was so confident in her body that when the adrenaline started she knew how to handle her body
  • Keri believes that sports saved her life because she knew her body and how to react

  • First-year after graduating from Clemson was tough when she moved to Bristol, CT
  • Initially thought she was going to attend the University of Georgia but fell in love with Clemson
  • Dancing was something that she loved growing up but she struggled with somewhat of an identity crisis because she was also a tomboy and wanted to play sports with the guys
  • During her sophomore year in high school, she tore her hamstring performing at a school program but it took 8 doctors before she was correctly diagnosed
  • She continued to battle with the hamstring injury and eventually tore her other hamstring
  • Her parents were very supportive during the time with the injuries and appreciate them even more now knowing the cost and time spent
  • Sportscenter was always on her TV and knew early on that she wanted to be involved in telling stories through sports
  • Telling impactful stories in sports is her passion now
  • She feels that she can connect with people because of her experience of dealing with injuries

  • His dad went missing before a game in 2000 vs the Atlanta Falcons because of a drug addiction

  • After college, he drove to UCLA and meet with Rick Neuheisel with hopes of getting a job
  • Lived in the locker room at UCLA before returning to Atlanta with hopes of starting a QB training company
  • He didn't have any money to rent a facility but scheduled an elite camp at 5:30 AM at a donated facility but no one showed up
  • Josh Dobbs eventually asked if could work with Quincy because he didn't have any college offers at the time
  • Helping guys get to the next level ultimately makes him happy and he's a product of being driven by what he says he wants to accomplish
  • Has helped over 150 players earn scholarships saving parents over $14 million in tuition
  • Very hard to trust people because he’s seen how outside factors can become more important to loved ones than the person that they’re supposed to love the most
  • Was homeless he moved back to Atlanta but feels that the thing that you fear the most in the world is not so bad
  • Likes working with 10th and 11th graders the most because you get to see them develop

  • Currently changing his lifestyle of eating and exercise because of his obesity which he knew would eventually kill him
  • Listened to the book "Can't Hurt Me" by David Goggins which motivated him to start changing his health
  • Grew up on the streets of Brooklyn, NY and basketball was his first love in sports
  • Knew that sports could be a way out but he also had the temptations of living a life on the streets
  • Was mentored to leave Brooklyn to attend a military school in Virginia at 13-years old and immediately hated it trying to do anything to get expelled
  • Made his way to Lackawanna College in Scranton, PA where he was convinced to play football and knew that if he didn't then he would return to living the streets
  • After getting a scholarship to play at the University of South Carolina he knew he wanted to coach so he could help others as he had been helped
  • Helped Pace Academy to their first state title in 2015
  • Even though he's a New York Knicks fan, he still believes that Michael Jordan is the GOAT

  • Parents came to America from Liberia and Rennie's mom went to Emory University
  • Going back to Liberia as an adult was very powerful and has much more appreciation for everything in life
  • His goal is to build a state-of-the-art training facility for sports and education in Liberia
  • Starting playing football for the Brookwood Community Football League and was immediately hooked on football
  • Grew up with two sisters and football was his opportunity of having brothers
  • Wanted to play RB at University of Georgia but Thomas Davis showed him that defense could be fun also
  • Has a musical ear and plays multiple instruments
  • His decision to go pro after his Junior season was based on being a father and he wanted to provide for his daughter
  • During his playing career, he would shut off emotions to deal with fans, crowds and staying focused
  • He continues to stay in a constant growth mindset which was developed through sports
