This episode will introduce the language situation in the Philippines, how Filipinos use the different languages they know and how they enrich Filipino as the national language and as one of the official languages in the Philippines.
This episode starts with a review of the Filipino alphabet and then talks about the glottal stop which is part of the alphabet but is not written or shown in the spelling of the word. Then the talk continues with examples of the actual spelling of Filipino words. After which, accent and intonation in Filipino language is introduced.
The Filipino Alphabet and its history, as well as the history of the writing systems in the Philippines will be introduced in this episode.
This lesson is an introduction to the Filipino course. Here, Filipino, as the Philippine's National Language will be defined and will be compared to Tagalog.
