I am releasing a classic episode which was recorded when the podcast was called The Mystic Discoveries. The topic of the 12 year old change and parenting/teaching through the teen years is so important I decided its time to re-release it. I went through and edited it a it to remove some of my ‘ums’ and ‘ahs’, so it’s a more flowy listening experience.

Today we discuss the spiritual, physical and social changes teens go through and how the Waldorf curriculum meets them. Annie offers wonderful insights and advice for parents and teachers of teens/soon to be teens. Although we started off with the intention of discussion 2 particular things, it became another great discussion that would be great for people to listen to who are new to Waldorf.

We start off by introducing the fourfold human being for those who may not be familiar with the concept. It is important in understanding the more spiritual aspects of what is happening to the child/teen.

The 12 year old change is an event most Waldorf teachers and Waldorfy parents are aware of. It is quite a significant part of a child’s development. We talked a few years ago about the 9 year old change which may be a good episode to listen to before or after this one. We are discussing these turning points not from a position of dread or warning, but more from an angle of being prepared, open and loving towards the changes your child will go through.

Teens often get a bad rep and its partly due to adults not fully understanding their consciousness and their needs. Annie made a great comment between the difference of ‘exploring’ and ‘rebelling’. Teens naturally want and need to explore, this is healthy. They rebel when they feel oppressed, misunderstood and not heard. Annie has so may observations and suggestions when it comes to maintaining boundaries, and laying the foundations of that in early childhood.

We also discuss the importance of rhythm and routine, not just for 0-7 year old children, but right up to 18 and beyond!

Apologies for my voice being a tad flat the week, I am fighting the onset of a cold!

Kia ora and welcome to another episode of the Holistic Human Podcast.

Before I introduce my amazing guest I want to thank again those of you who are supporting the podcast by sharing my posts on Instagram, follow along if you don’t already @holistic_human_aotearoa. It is a free and super helpful way to keep the podcast going. Those of you who would like to contribute with money can do so by heading to buymeacoffee/AmandaLBradley and shouting me a coffee or two which helps pay for the running costs.

Today I am talking to Mona Lewis who is the creator of Sunsprite Handwork. She is the author of ‘Natures Paintbox’ and illustrator of the children’s books ‘A Tataviam Creation Story’ and ‘TATA the Tataviam Towee’ written by her partner Alan Salazar. She is an artist, a dancer, a mother, a Waldorf handwork teacher, and the co director of Practical Art Teacher Training program.

In this podcast she runs us through the handwork curriculum, what she teaches and the importance of story and making it fun. She explains why handwork is such a cornerstone in the Waldorf curriculum. She also gives those of us who want to start a dye garden some tips, and what plants are good ones to start with. She discusses her journey with plant and earth pigments, and why it is such an amazing practice to connect with the local environment.

Honestly one of the best chats ever. I wish I had travel funds so I could zip over to LA for one of her workshops (feel free to donate airfare if you want). We could have talked about handwork, and connecting to nature for sooooo much longer, but managed to keep it just under 90 mins. I think people new to Waldorf will get a lot out of this, handwork is such a great lens into the pedagogy and she explains it all so eloquently.

I feel like we could do another episode just on connecting to place through art and craft. Perhaps I am bias because it’s linked to my thesis topic, but I truly think that most people will be inspired by her take on why craft matters, and how to bring nature based practices to children in a fun way as much as possible.

I encourage you to go buy Natures paintbox from www.sunspritehandwork.com and follow her on Instagram @sunspritehandwork. Also, if you also get your dye garden growing tag us in your posts about it.

Enjoy friends.

Kia Ora and welcome back to another episode of The Holistic Human Podcast where we are examining consciousness, human potential, and the relationship between spiritual and material worlds.

Today I am talking to Saskia von Diest, PhD about Ecofluency (listen to the end for a guided meditation that Saskia intuited just for us – if you want to share your experiences with Saskia, tag her on Instagram @ecofluency, or flick her an email).

We discuss what it is and how she came to develop it. She is speaking to us from a farm in Wales, yet was born and raised in South Africa. She briefly discusses her upbringing, then goes into her experience at university and gaining her PHD in plant pathology. We touch on biodynamics and she discusses how Ecofluency is being received in the realm of academia. This leads us into the potential evolution of the scientific method, to become more accepting of phenomena that can be unfairly labeled as ‘woo woo’ or ‘new age’ in dismissive terms. She also talks about what is happening in the wider cosmos, what it is and how it is impacting us at a DNA level. I learned about light photons!

There are many roads that lead to communion with nature, and I invite you to listen with an open mind to the pathway Saskia is offering through Ecofluency.

I want to thank everyone who has supported the podcast by sharing it on social media, and going to my buy me a coffee page which is helping with the running costs. I found out this week, mid convo with Saskia that Zoom is not longer free. So I have to now pay for that every moneh, which I don’t mind because it’s a good product, but it does mean I now have an extra cost to running this podcast. If you have some spare coin and want to support me and my kid, then head over to www.buymeacoffee.com/AmandaLBradley. Or you can buy stuff from my silvercapcrafts page, or commission some art from me. If you don’t have the funds to do so, leaving a 5 star or a comment review on spotify or wherever you listen is super super helpful.

Kia Ora e te whānau, Hello dear friends and welcome to a re-release of a classic Holistic Human Podcast.

I have had to re-edit one of my most popular episodes where Annie and I talk about the epic stage in child development, the 9 year old change, because I was a doofus and accidentally deleted the old one along with some other files.

But actually it has turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I got to listen to it for the first time in 3 years and its been super valuable.

So this episode has been produced by Tanglewood Toys, a New Zealand based Waldorfy supply company that stock all my favorite products, from waldorf art supplies, to wooden toys, to play silks, to parenting books. Its run by Felicity and Damon who, aside from providing amazing customer service are just genuinely lovely people and in these times of world uncertainty, supporting local, small businesses is really important. Go check out their website tanglewoodtoys.co.nz or visit them on Instagram @tanglewoodtoys.

So in this episode Annie and I will be discussing…..

  • The fourfold human being (feel free to check out my tiktok vid https://vm.tiktok.com/ZSddQ7tWk/?k=1 or youtube clip explaining it in more detail https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zVmKIy62vQ)
  • What happens at a consciousness level during the 9 year old change
  • How the Waldorf curriculum meets the child
  • Practicalities on how to plan your main lessons and such throughout the year
  • Why using Steiner’s lectures are an important starting point, and then using premade curriculum resources to supplement your original lessons.

Connect with Annie on Instagram @thechildisthecurriculum and @threefoldhumancalender. Also check out the waldorfy homeschooling community at her website thechildisthecurriculum.com.

Also I want to say a big thank you to all you beautiful people who have bought me a coffee and given the podcast a 5star review wherever you listen. Reviewing the podcast is a free and incredibly appreciated way to support the podcast.

Nau Mai Haere mai and welcome back to another episode of the Holistic Human Podcast.

Today I am blessed again to be speaking to Mary Stewart Adams, a stare lore historian and author of The Start Tales of Mother Goose about the astrological forecast for the year ahead. We go deep into what Venus is up to, and how the work done over the Holy Nights can be carried throughout the year.

This episode, as usual, becomes so much more than just a astrological forecast. I really value and appreciate Mary and her willingness to share her insights from years of studying and working with anthroposophy and astrosophy. If you don’t know what astrosophy or anthroposophy is I suggest you listen to the first podcast we did together where she gives a general explanation of astrosophy and its place within Anthroposophy. Mary gives a brief intro, but that first episode goes deep.

I have to say a big thank your to Tanglewood Toys who have generously sponsored this episode of the podcast. Not only do they sell some of my favorite waldorfy products, but Felicity who runs the show with Damon is such a kind person. Supporting family run small businesses are so important these days, so if you need some supplies for your homeschooling year ahead, gifts for your kids, or art supplies for yourself I recoomend checking out their website first. Go to tanglewoodtoys.co.nz and follow them on Instagram @tanglewoodtoys.

Also I want to say a big thank you to all you beautiful people who have bought me a coffee and given the podcast a 5star review wherever you listen. Reviewing the podcast is a free and incredibly appreciated way to support the podcast.

Kia Ora e te Whānau, and a warm welcome back to you all.  Feel free to like, subscribe, share and come visit me on Instagram @holistic_human_aotearoa

You are in for a treat today. I am talking to my wonderful friend Christine Moginie about a classic anthroposophical practice called the Twelve Holy Nights and the Three Kings biodynamic preparation. Christine is a Waldorf teacher, and artist, an art teacher, does biography work, and is a member of the Council for Biodynamics New Zealand - among other things!

Before we delve into the Holy Nights, Christine shares some suuuuuper interesting stories from her life. She has done a lot of biography work personally and with others, so she speaks about her life with an interesting outlook. She shares about her connection to the natural and elemental worlds, as well as experiences she has had with death and connecting with those she calls her 'Team' in the Spiritual World.

We then move onto the Twelve Holy Nights, what the purpose of them are, how they can be worked with and some ways you can observe them this coming season. The book she refers to is “The Twelve Holy Nights and the Spiritual Hierarchies” by Sergei O Prokofieff. I have a book called “The Twelve Holy Nights” by Frans Lutters that you can get from Tanglewood Toys https://tanglewoodtoys.co.nz/products/copy-of-the-kingdom-of-beautiful-colours

After that she shares with us her experiences with the Three Kings prep, what is in it, when it is to be used, and a warning!

All in all I really enjoyed listening to Christine, she has a warmth and wisdom that comes from someone who truly practices what they preach. She is super generous and would be happy to talk more with you if you have questions and she has the time. Follow her on Instagram @christinemoginie or @ vortexbiodynamics. Welcome back Holistic Humans,

Today I’m blessed to have Lou Harvey Zahra back on the show. Lou is the Author of many amazing parenting books such as Happy Child, Happy Home, Creative Discipline and the Waldorf Birthday Book, Through the Rainbow. Lou has courses and online workshops available for Parents and Teachers which you can access through her website happychildhappyhome.com. Also follow her on facebook and Instagram for loads of tips, short videos and updates about her courses and publications @happychildhappyhome (More info below)

Today we go right into Temperaments. Lou explains what they are, why they are important for us to understand and how developing an understanding of our own temperaments will help us better understand ourselves and relate to the world around us.

I do want to preface this with the fact that we are a combination of ALL FOUR temperaments, but we usually have one more dominant. These can change over time, and please never tell your young child what you their temperament is. They need the freedom to grow into who they are destined to be.

First we introduce the concept of the Temperaments. Then in middle Lou talks about the general characteristics of the four temperaments, how we see it in children, how to relate to children with that temperament and what you may be like as a parent with that temperament.

Near the end Lou gets talking about general good parenting, and I recommend you listen right to the end, the tips and insight that come out at the end are golden.

We were a bit glitchy and I think looking back, I was a bit delayed on Lou’s end, so forgive the couple of times where we unknowingly talk over each other! Tech is a blessing, but has its own way of doing things at times 

I want to make a special mention of Life Ways in North America, they are an organization that support teachers and parents in the Waldorf ways, much like Lou does! The anonymous producer of this episode requested I not mention them, but give a shout-out to an organization they really value. So thank you anonymous and check out Life Ways on Instagram @lifewaysnorthamerica.

If you want to be a producer of a future podcast or show your support financially you can go to buymeacoffee.com/AmandaLBradley . All funds go towards paying for website hosting, the internet bill and general parenting costs.

Kia Ora and Welcome to another episode of the Holistic Human Podcast. Today I am talking with Olivia Pepper (writer, Star Poet, eclectic magician) and Charlie Cross (anthroposophical student at Dornach Switzerland, astrologer and ultimate frisbee athlete).

As you will hear, they are a great team and have been writing a book about the being, the planet that is Mercury. As well as this book they are also offering courses about Mercury (and possibly Venus) in the near future, helping participants build their own understanding and relationship with these planets and wider insights into their own being.

They whole conversation had a very mercurial structure. There were three of us in three different time zones. The chat was recorded in three segments (because I don’t have the pro version of Zoom), and there was a lively, fun vibe around it all.

We began hearing about Olivia and Charlie’s upbringing, and what lead the to where they are today. Honestly, that part could have been multiple podcasts in itself.

Star wisdom is sprinkled throughout and you can tell these two live what they teacher. Both wonderful human beings that are bringing light and inspiration to the world and making the most of the shift to online connective ways. In an age of technological advancement, that moves so fast and can be damaging, when used well it brings people together and can create change for the Good!

I have to apologize for the first 30 minutes Charlie’s mic is a bit rustley which didn’t sound to bad when we were recording but it was when I listened back to it. We sorted is after that point, and I encourage you to stick with it because as we get further into the conversation, we get to some really interesting stuff.

Kia Ora te whanau and welcome back to another episode of The Holistic Human Podcast.

Today I’m talking to Rima Meadow about almost everything!

In the first third of this chat we talk about her upbringing, her eurythmy training, anthroposophical speech training and life as an American living in Switzerland.

We move onto discuss many anthroposophical topics, including Steiner’s views on women and homosexuality. Spoiler alert, he saw women as equals and knew that as long as adults were in a consenting relationship, sexual preference was not an issue. Rima goes on to talk about the original bible, and what was really written. None of it condemned homosexuality, there is only a problem if there is a power imbalance.

Here is the link to the podcast she suggests: humanwisdom.org/2017/12/30/a-spiritual-exploration-of-trauma-healing-and-homosexuality

Then we move onto two subjects that Steiner said was of the upmost importance for Anthroposophists, or any spiritual seeker, to endeavor to understand. Those being Folk Souls (related to place, not race) and the Occult Political. Yes this gets super esoteric. Are the Free Masons and Jesuits mentioned….? Perhaps. We use the events of WW1 and WW2 to speak to this.

We then discuss the Three Fold Social Order, and we envision what could be. If we can imagine it, we can create it ;)

Kia Ora Friends,

“The wisdom in us, finds the wisdom in the universe. The Spiritual in us, finds the Spiritual in the Universe”

Welcome to the first episode of 2020! Today I’m interviewing the warm and wonderful Dale Brunsvold, the voice of Rudolf Steiner Audio.

I’ve wanted to record a podcast about Rudolf Steiner for a long time. I made one years ago but I no longer think its worth being up, it was the first podcast I ever recorded.

So I’m so happy to have Dale along to give an introductory (-ish, it gets pretty deep yo) picture of Rudolf Steiner and Anthroposophy.

We start off talking about Dale and his relationship to Anthroposophy, the Christian community and how Rudolf Steiner Audio came to be.

When we talk of Steiner, we discuss his childhood, his education, the cultural climate he was surrounded by, his involvement with theosophy, his stance towards communism, the three fold social order, reincarnation, how people like Goethe, Nietzsche, and the humble herb gather Felix had an influence on him, who his ‘Masters’ were, Goethe’s Theory of colour, and so so so much more.

I must apologise for the audio quality as I think my cell phone data made it sound a bit average, but I think its totally listenable and the content is so rad its worth listening too. Also around 40mins through my 3 year old can slightly be heard having a melt down :l #momlife.

You can listen to SO many lectures at www.rudolfsteineraudio.com, feel free to donate to help Dale keep it running. Files on here can be streamed or downloaded.

Today I’m talking to one of my favorite people, Mary Stewart Adams, again! Mary is a Star Lore Historian, from living in Michigan. She has done many years of research towards understanding our relationship with the stars. We have done a few podcasts together about Astrosophy, she does a great job explaining what it is in one episode, and we recorded a chat at the beginning of this year 2021 about what cosmic events are ahead for us. Here be the links…..

Today I’ve asked her back because she has written a book! Its fresh off the press, and I want to know all about it and her journey to create it. Our conversation becomes so much more than I thought it would be. She has a way with words and really does a good job at unpacking the spiritual relationship between the stars and nursery rhymes. What is the importance of nursery rhymes and fairy tales for the present consciousness of humanity?I learned a lot about the origin of present day nursery rhymes and we discuss the relationship between rhythm or language and place.

Easter festivals in a Modern Waldorf school context. I share some contemplation about the underlying theme of Easter. I discuss the overall reason for Festivals and the need to develop them interfaith festivals when we have groups of children from diverse cultural backgrounds.

When planning a festival I suggest you ask yourselves these questions.. • What is the underlying, universal theme of this festival • What is going to change for the student (what do we want them to learn) • Are there other cultural rituals/festivals that share this same theme • Are the activities age appropriate • Are the activities inclusive for all my students • Have I called on the parent body and wider community for input and participation

For Steiner/Waldorf education to grow and thrive we need to adapt our programs to suit the needs of our children and our communities. Its okay to ask questions, to try something new, to get rid of traditions that no longer searve our children and to keep the ones we know are important.

I encourage you to look at your festival program with a critical eye and really question if it suits the needs of your children. For the most part I am sure you will find that they do, but you may be surprised by what you have always done because its tradition, yet it has become totally antiquated.

Lets keep growing and learning together. Waldorf education is a LIVING education. To live, we need to grow, and with growth comes change.

I would love to hear from you if you hold interfaith festivals.

Welcome back to the first podcast of 2021 with the wonderful Star Lore Historian, Mary Stewart Adams. Have a listen for some astrological/astrosophical insights for 2021. It is a must listen for those of us who acknowledge the influence the heavenly bodies have humanity and visa versa.

Mary (someone well versed in Anthroposophy and such) very generously is sharing some insights into the year ahead, using Tropical, Sidereal and Heliocentric Astrological systems as a reference point. A threefold system. Spoiler alert, although this year will have its challenges, we can expect it to be a bit more chill than last year :D She runs through the difference between the systems and how they relate to different aspects of the human being. Super esoteric, and great food for thought. I love the way she works with multiple perspectives. Feels human.

*I have to apologize in advance for the audio quality. I thought I was recording this on Zoom, both video and audio….but I wasn’t.  So the back up was recorded on the iPad. This convo is of such value, one of my favorite podcast conversations ever. Next time we chat I will defiantly have the Zoom settings all worked out.

Mary runs workshops and records a weekly podcast which you can keep track of on her website https://storytellersnightsky.com/

She is also on Instagram @starmares

I decided to change its name after we recorded so you will still hear me welcome Lou to the Mystic Discoveries. I will record a video/podcast explaining the change at a later point, but for now, enjoy.

This was the first video recording I have done, and the books that I refer to at the beginning which I didn’t name are ‘Through the Rainbow’ and ‘Angels’. For those listening to the audio podcast, I recorded the introduction with Phoenix (my son) on my lap, so he pipes in with some commentary 😊

Welcome back to the long overdue podcast with Lou Harvey-Zahra. Writer of many parenting and children’s books including ‘Happy Child, Happy Home’ and ‘Through the Rainbow’. Lou has been involved in Waldorf and Special Education for over 30years. She is an expert in positive classroom disciple and is well respected in the field of special needs education (particularly when it comes to helping children with Asperger’s and autism). She was a co-founder of one of the Steiner schools in Melbourne, Australia and has run countless workshops with parents, teachers, and other groups about connectivity and Waldorf education principals. She is also the co-creator of Nurture the Child which is a monthly subscription service packed with Waldorfy craft projects/stories/cooking ideas for families with children aged 0-9.

Part 1: About Lou

It was an honour to talk to Lou. I wanted to know more about what her journey as a teacher/writer and human has looked like. She graciously shares some amazing moments of synchronicity that guided her path. We bond over similarities of our first childhood memories.

I ask her about her spiritual path and she describes is as Flow, Heart, Present-ness and Gratitude. She elaborates on that in a deeply moving way.

Part 2: (50ish mins through) Lou’s Books and the Spiritual Nature of the Child.

She also talks us through her books. We focus on the content of Happy Child, Happy Home is. This allows Lou to talk about the spiritual nature of the baby and young child. How we can connect deeply with our kids and give them a wonderful childhood. The importance of rhythm and play.

She also gives us some lovely tips for the toddler years and some insight into tantrums. In fact she weaves tips right to the end.

Why discipline is important, its about teaching, caring and guiding. What is Creative Discipline.

Kia Ora E Hoa, and a warm greetings friends to another episode of the Mystic Discoveries Podcast.

Today, I am talking with Mary Stewart Adams, a Star Lore Historian who (taken from her Instagram bio) is restoring the mythic grandeur of knowing the stars. Whether you are a seasoned astrologer or a newbie you will definitely find this chat of interest.

We discuss Astrology, Astronomy and Astrosophy, how the three disciplines are connected, how they differ, and how we can work with them to reconnect with the stary heavens. To begin with Mary shares with us her story. How she came to walk her spiritual path and develop her way as a Star Lore Historian. She has studied and worked personally with Astrology, Astronomy and Astrosophy for many years and has some wonderful nuggets of wisdom to share with us today.

In the second part of the show Mary goes into more detail about Astrosophy, she goes into the Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn and why it is such a big thing. We discuss the 8 year cycle of Venus and where we are in relation to that. She also talks about how Astrosophers calculate the pre natal chart and briefly describes the journey we take from the heavens to the earth. I ask Mary, am I a Gemini (according to tropical Astrology) or a Taurus (according to Sidereal Astrology)? She explains why I could consider myself both.

Honestly I felt like I was being treated to an epic story telling event. Mary has such a way with words and enthusiasm for reconnecting the Human being with the stars that I challenge you not to be inspired to take on a personal study of the cosmos yourself after hearing this.

One of the key themes in Mary’s life has been Freedom, and I really appreciate the way she has approached her working with a discipline (Astrology/Astrosophy) that could very easily lead us to put ourselves in boxes and limit our development (eg: To identify so strongly with a sun sign that it influences your behavior and life choices).

A massive thing I learned was that its not an either or, but an ALL approach when working with the stars. And actually when it comes to Anthroposophy I notice this being a truth too, that you don’t need to elimitate belief systems or ways of thinking, but work to incorporate and intergrate all that feels true and right for the individual. One doesn’t have to either think spiritually OR scientifically - one can integrate the two. A definite theme of my life at the moment!

I encourage you to follow Mary’s advice and go outside on the next night the Stars are out and start to become familiar with them .

We are at a point in human evolution where it is up to use to reach out and connect with the stars again. Once they spoke to us, they then went silent and now we must speak with them.

Welcome back to another episode of The Mystic Discoveries.

We talked a few years ago about the 9 year old change (https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/mystic-discoveries-ep-6-9-year-old-change-waldorf-curriculum/id1108252764?i=1000430491291) which may be a good episode to listen to before or after this one.

Kia Ora friends and welcome to another episode of the Mystic Discoveries. Today Paul Weston is back to talk about his new book ‘History and Myth: Boris Johnson. Henry VIII. Extinction Rebellion, Plague, & the Return of the Middle Ages’ which you can buy from amazon https://www.amazon.com/Paul-Weston/e/B0034PR0X8%3Fref=dbs_a_mng_rwt_scns_share

Further Reading Recommended By Paul

Arnold Toynbee ‘A Study of History’

Norman Cohn ‘Pursuit of the Millennium’

Colin Wilson ‘The Occult’

We recorded this during the Lunar Eclipse and I feel like a little extra magic was in our convo because of it.

The overarching theme of his book and this convo is that History is cyclical and if we look back at events that happened in the past that match current astrological blueprints we are given clues as to how to face our current stuff, while also enriching and deepening our connection to history and the cosmos in general.

  • Get ready to hear about comparisons between Boris Johnson and Henry the 8th
  • The Fisher King saga in relation to Boris and the Covid situation
  • Time slip experiences
  • Historical Synchronisations
  • The astrological meaning and significance of the Saturn Pluto alignment that happened in the sign of Capricorn in January 2020
  • Different approaches to the researching history
  • Near the end we touch on the Extinction Rebellion Movement and strange cults that rose up in the middle ages. In general we discuss the whole Cult thing and what Paul means when he uses the word.

All in all I think this was a very measured, and hopeful chat in the wake of the events we currently are part of. It will bring a lot of reassurance to many people at the moment. There is a comfort in knowing that history tends to repeat itself, we can learn from what happened in the past. There is some potent creative, inspirational energy around at the moment. If we can find a way to ground ourselves and connect with the deeper, eternal, still connection to spirit (or whatever you want to call it) we have the capacity to do some amazing things. There may be some nefarious, destructive forces active at the moment, and even though it can be hard to see, we must remember that there is just as many good forces/archetypes/beings on our side as well.

Today I am talking with Andrew Linnell, author of the new book 'The Hidden Heretic of the Renaissance: Leonardo Da Vinci', which is avalible on Amazon now :).

(Google the two Virgin on the Rocks painting by Leonardo to follow along with Andrews description.)

We have all heard the Legends from Dan Brown and Holy Blood, Holy Grail that claimed to tell us the 'truth' about Christ Jesus and the history of the church. Well, Andrew has bought something else to the table. Although his ideas are not new, they may be new to alot of us. Especially in regards to what Leonardo was trying to communicate.

Was he trying to tell us that there were not one, but two Jesus Children and that the Christ wasn't present on the earth until Jesus was baptised at 30? Well Andrew supposes that's exactly what Leo knew.

We discuss Leo's upbringing, the people he was surrounded by, the times he lived in, his ties to the Medeci's and where he learned these heretical ideas. According to Andrew and others, the two Jesus Children was a mystical fact known by early Christians and even foretold in texts like the Zohar and old testament scriptures.

We talk about Rudolf Steiners perspective on the whole thing and Andrew recommends further reading.

I highly recommend his book which you can get for Kindle on amazon.com. Although we cover alot in this 90min chat there are heaps of details in the book that fill in some blanks of this conversation.

So all aboard the Esoteric Express, buckle you seat belt, keep that mind open and enjoy the words.

Find out more about Andrews missions here...

“The artwork that I create is more about the process that goes on behind the scenes, within the people, as a way or means of empowering and generating well- being through the vehicle of Art”. Tiffany Singh, 2020.

Art has the capacity to change the world for good. Amazing humans like Tiffany Singh are taking Art as social Practice to great heights, both in Aotearoa and abroad. I was lucky enough to have her come and bring her story as an artist in a wonderfully holistic way. As she says, everything is connected. Her Buddhist beliefs are intrinsically linked with her approach to art and the way she creates, a lot of the time in collaboration with communities (refugees, children affected by the Christchurch earthquakes) and other artists. Tiffany explains how she developed her approach into that of social practice. And shares stories from many exhibitions she has created in New Zealand beyond.

She also discusses how her motherhood is another aspect of her artistic practice now, she describes how her children are with her throughout the creation of work and how community has been essential to her being able to continue to create while also being a mother of two.

In my mind she is one of New Zealand’s modern iconic artists and I couldn’t be happier for there to be another space for her to share her inspirational story and some words of wisdom.

She is taking commissions at the moment, by the way. So if your in the market for a piece of fine art then contact her through her website https://tiffanysingh.com/#contact

Here are some points we cover in our chat

  • Work in Te Papa. The ideas behind Indra’s Bow and Total Internal reflection

  • Colour Therapy
  • Levelling the experience of Art: Making it inclusive to all ages, ethnicities, moving to the heart and out of the head. A narrative that many can relate to.
  • (Lithograph Images) How you respond to colour frequencies.
  • Tiffany’s Artistic Career. How the juxtaposition of living in the West and the East has influenced her art and her approach. Art as social practice.
  • The influence Max Gimblett had on Tiffany and her inclusion of the spiritual into her work.
  • Living in India and connecting with her Indian heritage. The volunteer creative practice work she did while there. Process more important than the outcome, painting with kids in slums, putting women’s collectives together. How the process affected those involved.
  • How the 3 years living in India directed her art making approach. What bought her to Buddhism.
  • What is ‘Social Practice’ (activity and inquiry) and the state of art as social practice in New Zealand. How social practice can be used to help with depression, enabling well-being and mental health.
  • Aligning Health and Education with Art. Te Ora Aroha

Kia Ora E Hoa, (Warm Greetings Friends)

Welcome to episode 15! You will notice I begin the interview with a karakia (Prayer) in Te Reo Maori, which I then speak in English. Just a heads up for those of you unfamiliar with Maori, or the practice of starting off conversations with a karakia. It took me a while to think of incorporating more Maori in this podcast and I'm glad I have done so. Especially relevant to begin this tradition on a podcast where we discuss connection with out tupuna (ancestors).

Today we are chatting about how Amber came to walk the path she walks. Where she grew up, and how she discovered herbalism. We talk about Carl Jung, using plants to connect with our ancestors, herbal oilings, and many other things.

Kia Ora Friends,

The art for this weeks podcast was taken from the Cover of Paul Weston’s book, The Occult Battle of Britain.

Well, well you are in for a treat. Welcome to another cool episode of The Mystic Discoveries Podcast. Today Paul Weston and I talk about the powerful woman, Dion Fortune, Author of 'Psychic Self Defense', 'The Sea Priestess' and 'Avalon of the Heart' to name a few. Paul has written a dope book called 'The Occult Battle of Britain', in which he delves into a massive occult episode that occurs 50 years before WW2. The Nazi Grail castle, Himmler’s occult obsessions, the happenings around Glastonbury, the impact of WW1 on the collective psyche, The Arch Angel Michael, Rudolf Steiner and so many others characters and episodes are discussed in this epic book.

We obviously can’t go into it all but Paul does focus on the biography of Dion Fortune, and how her work has influenced his own life.

We touch on the connection between Dion Fortune and my mate, Rudolf Steiner.

Paul also mentions briefly some interesting events and characters that connect New Zealand to the Glastonbury vibes. He sent me a link to a blog post he wrote about the 11.11 event, which he writes about in his book called Atargatis

https://avalonianaeon.blogspot.com/2010/01/#1922213525160658780

The book he refers to is ‘Islands of the Dawn: The Story of Alternative Spirituality in New Zealand’

Its honestly one of the richest, most interesting convos I’ve ever had. There’s too much awesome stuff to mention in the show notes so I suggest you just get comfy, play this podcast and then go buy Paul's book from Amazon (search for The Occult Battle of Britain).

You can also go to Paul's website www.paulwestonglastonbury.com or like he said, he is traceable on Facebook and youtube. All his books are available on Amazon.

Kia Ora pals.

A warm welcome back the podcast.

Today Annie (of @thechildisthecurriculum on Instagram) go deep into the Waldorf take on festivals. Steiner said our generation would be the ones to renew them and the content for this podcast was inspired by that impulse. Being in the Southern Hemisphere, I find the topic of the Festivals one I contemplate often.

It was awesome to talk to Annie in the US, experiencing Christmas in Winter, while I myself am in Aotearoa (New Zealand) celebrating Christmas in the Summer.

Our chat includes…..

  • The What and the Why of the typical Waldorf Festivals
  • Why they are such a big deal
  • The difference between Historic and Seasonal festivals
  • The Arch angels and their roles in the seasons.
  • Why Christ is such a central figure
  • What to do if you are not Christian
  • Practical ways to bring the festival vibes into your home for free or very cheaply

Kia Ora Friends,

I’m joined again today by Hadas Knox, creator of Crafting a Sacred Postpartum E-course and Author of The Holistic Antidepressant Diet.

Today we take a deep delve into this whole postpartum thing. We all pay special attention to the giving birth of a child, but we don’t often take the time to think about what the new mother needs and is dealing with in those early months (even years) of their babies life.

Not only is a baby born, but a mother is born. We in the west have moved away from traditional ancient wisdom that holds the postpartum months as sacred. A time for the mother to heal, replenish and bond with their new bundle of joy.

Hadas is among the few amazing humans helping us find our way back to certain practices our ancestors would have just thought was common sense! The importance of nourishing, warm organic food, and how the new mother needs to be cared for and heard.

We talk about how the course came to be, and where Hadas draws her knowledge from. We discuss the importance of sacred space and how to set boundaries in a way that is loving, yet give you the space you need. We also discuss the importance of working out some non-negotiable, self-care practices before baby arrives and discussing this with your partner. We also talk about the difference between the holistic and reductionist views on health and well-being.

It’s a good one for anyone who is about to be a mother, is a new mother or wants to support a loved on in their postpartum journey.

Giving birth to a child and our motherhood is quite the initiation process! Lets chat about it.

Kia Ora E Hoa. Welcome friends    Annie and I are back together again, not experts, but two Steiner nerds chatting about cool esoteric things. Gee wizz there are some nuggets of wisdom in here. We start off discussing the spiritual nature of Art and how Rudolf Steiner suggests we transform it in the future. Perhaps a bit controversial for some modern art lovers, but bare with us and keep those minds open!   We then move along to discuss the Spiritual natures of 6 art forms. What are they, how are they relate to the human body, and how can we use it to educate. Not only do we talk of art, but this conversation ended up being a podcast that could be good for people wanting to get 101 on Waldorf education and Steiner's view on human development.    Also you can hear heaps and heaps of tips from Annie about teaching art to your children. A really good intro into how to bring a Waldorfy vibe to your art lessons, how to deliver a painting lesson, and how to teach different temperaments (particularly the choleric child).    Here are some points made in the chat.    Thoughts as living things. The brain as a RECEIVER of thoughts, not a thought creation organ.   We discuss this the evolution of consciousness and thought perspective from the lecture series 'Art and it's mission'     Colour, tone and light from the spiritual world and form of the physical. Kia Ora friends and welcome back to another episode of the Mystic Discoveries Podcast.    Today's episode was recorded a few months ago, but I haven't been able to edit it until now. It's worth the wait though. I'm talking to the most wonderful Kahu Gill who is a hand poke tatoo artist, forager, adventurer, artist and all round cool human.    We talk about their experiences at Michael Park Steiner School n Auckland, New Zealand as a teenager, compared to their experiences in state schooling. Within that we discuss the similarities between Waldorf education and Māori educational philosophy, and what could be improved upon. We move on to their paranormal experiences with Patupairehe (Fae folk) UFOs and ghosts. Very interesting! We also manage to chat about their foraging adventures and life as a holistic poke tattoo artist.   She also shared some tips on doing some DIY archeology adventures. Who knew so much open source information is just a computer search away!   I was so happy to talk to Kahu, and I'm pretty convinced I need to take a trip up north to get a tattoo done by them. If you want to go get a hand poke tattoo done by Kahu and maybe learn more about plants and foraging go follow her on  Instagram@kahu_gill Check out her beautifully etherial music on bandcamp. Its very good. Kahuandthecorybas.bandcamp.com

Kia Ora Friends and Welcome to another episode of The Mystic Discoveries Podcast. If you are into sacred Motherhood, slow living, organic food, food as medicine and the healing properties of Ayahuasca, well this is the episode for you! Today I talk to the most lovely Hadas Knox, Author of the Holistic Anti Depressant Diet and creator of the super cool Instagram page @ancientrootsmama.

Not only do we talk about her book but we delve into her spiritual path/outlook, her experiences with Ayahuasca, motherhood, and her favorite daily and seasonal rituals.

When we get to the subject of her book we discuss how to eat organically on a budget, how to help your child to transition to a simpler more nutritious diet, food as medicine and how our diet can help us through times of stress and those Seasonal shifts that just keep happening!

Also Hadas shares with us an AMAZING project she has in the pipelines (which will be released just when her Mama Schedule allows). It’s a course called Crafting a Sacred Postpartum and sound like something this world needs.

Go follow Hadas on instagram @ancientrootsmama and visit her website to find out more about her book and up coming e-course www.ancientrootsmama.com.
