They discuss the motives of Chambers, some of his other outrageous statements, and where the Legislature should go from here.

Jerry Kratochvil talks with retired Brigadier General Don Bacon about the recent visit to Omaha by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Paul Ryan, and the subsequent sidewalk debate with Democrat Congressman Brad Ashford.
Bacon starts off by talking about the event with Speaker Ryan, when it was set up and about some of the security requirements they had with the Secret Service.
He then gets into the topics Speaker Ryan hit at the event itself and the issues he has discussed with the Speaker, and where he comes down for his legislative priorities.
Jerry and Don then get into some of the nitty-gritty of the campaign, what polling shows and where each of the candidates stand in terms of the 2nd District.
Don then gives some detail into the impromptu debate that he had with Ashford, after Brad crashed the party outside the event at MidTown. Bacon relays the shocking statement that Ashford made about Speaker Nancy Pelosi as well as Ashford's being dumbfounded by Bacon's question before hustling away.
Jerry Kratochvil interviews Nebraska GOP Convention delegate Sam Fischer, immediately following the close of the Convention.
Sam gives his view of Ivanka and Donald Trump's closing night speeches, from the perspective of a delegate about 40 yards from the stage. He talks about some of the contrasts that Trump presented and a few of the particular issues, including from the perspective of a law enforcement officer.
Sam talks about some of the VIPs he met along the way at the convention and what it was like to be on the floor for this momentous occasion.
He closes by talking a little about yesterday's controversy with Ted Cruz, and the perspective of the Nebraska delegation on the Cruz speech.
Jerry Kratochvil interviews Nebraska alternate delegate Rod Edwards after the contentious morning session of Day 1 at the GOP Convention in Cleveland.
Edwards talks about the vote on the proposed roll call vote on the rules that caused a stir in Cleveland. He gives his perspective on the what happened, how it went down and some of the suggestions now being lobbed around by each side.
Edwards also talks about what it might mean to have been "strong-armed" by a Trump supporter to remove your name from a list, and what that might be like on the receiving side.
He finishes up by talking about the atmosphere in Cleveland, and what delegates are most impressed by.
Jerry Kratochvil interviews Nebraska delegate Brian Buescher, just back from the 2016 GOP Convention Platform Committee meetings.
Brian tells about some of stranger issues that came before the GOP Platform Committee in Cleveland over the past three days, as well as some of the regular topics as well.
He talks about some of the Nebraska focused planks that he was able to address, and he also gives a bit of a view on the Kansas grouse and Hawaiian chocolate covered nuts.
As the first committee to meet in Cleveland, he also took part in some of the first discussions on what might happen with the "Dump-Trump" delegates, and the likelihood of their success.
He notes what has happened at past conventions, and his thoughts on where things may go this time around.

Nebraska National Committeeman, and Nebraska Delegate, J.L. Spray talks to Jerry about the upcoming meeting of the GOP Convention Rules Committee and how it will affect the rest of the convention and the nomination of Donald Trump.
Spray talks about how any Nebraska rules would or could affect how Nebraska delegates vote and what they might see in Cleveland.
Then they get into two of the competing theories for allowing delegates to vote however they'd like , as opposed to the current "requirement" of voting for Trump on the first ballot. They discuss the "open delegate" concept of Curly Hoagland of North Dakota as well as the "vote your conscience" concept of Kendal Unruh of Colorado.
J.L. gives his thoughts on what could happen, and what is likely to happen in Cleveland. And he also gives his thoughts on what probably should happen.
In closing J.L. also gives some ideas about what could or should happen regarding Republican primaries in election seasons to come.
Jerry Kratochvil sits down in Omaha with actor Clint Howard.
Howard talks about his love of baseball and immediate love for the College World Series in Omaha. As a guest of State Senator Jim Smith of Papillion, Howard is in town cheering on the underdogs and enjoying Nebraska.
Howard originally met Senator Smith through the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), and he talks about the importance of conservatives in local and state government. He also talks a little about his involvement with other conservatives in Hollywood.
Through the group "Friends of Abe", Howard joined other conservatives in Hollywood, such as Gary Sinise, Jon Voight and Kelsey Grammer, who work in the entertainment industry and would like to be able to speak their mind. He shares a little bit about what the (somewhat secretive) group talks about when then meet, their goals, and how they got started back in the day when conservatives were publicly hammered on sets around town.
Jerry and Clint finish up talking about Clint's love of baseball, and Jerry reminds him of hi sOmaha baseball connection, from way back in the days of "Gentle Ben".

Jerry and Congressman Fortenberry hit the ground running talking about the Presidential race, and the Congressman's thoughts on the current makeup of the Republican field. Fortenberry talks about meeting Carly Fiorina and his early endorsement of her.
He then delves into the other candidates, including Marco Rubio and Donald Trump -- and Fortenberry gives his thoughts on the whether or not he would endorse Trump as the Republican nominee for President.
They then dive into one of the biggest issues in Fortenberry's district -- the repair of the Offutt, Strategic Command runway. Fortenberry talks about some of the challenges addressing the runway and his thoughts and information concerning the status.
Fortenberry then shares some of his thoughts on the issue of the genocide in Syria, and the administration's duty to use that term -- genocide. He talks a little about his discussion in Committee with Secretary of State, John Kerry, on the subject and the importance of using the terms that the international community understands and will address.
They conclude by talking about Fortenberry's relationship -- particularly as a hunter -- with recently deceased Justice Antonin Scalia. Fortenberry talks about a few of their duck hunting trips, what the two of them talked about in the duck blinds, and a gift Scalia gave to Fortenberry after their last hunt. They finish off clearing up a question that some had posed about a little-known hunting society of which Scalia was a member.

Jerry and Beau start out discussing the results from Super Tuesday and the rest of the Republican Primary, and look how things may go in coming months.
They next discuss the upcoming Winner Take All vote in the Nebraska Legislature and the prospects of its success in the coming months.
They then discuss the issue of Medicaid expansion, and the some of the new proposals that may include an increase in the cigarette tax. McCoy also gives his view on whether taxes should be increased.
They finish up talking about the final issues before the legislature before Sine Die (around April 20th) and how they will be major issues for Nebraska.

Kratochvil and Peterson take a deep dive into the issue of medicinal marijuana in Nebraska -- particularly the point of cannabis oil used to combat epilepsy symptoms.
They discuss State Senator Tommy Garrett's bill in the legislature and some of the competing discussion points. They also hit the general marijuana laws in Colorado and Nebraska, as well as the status of Nebraska's lawsuit against Colorado's pot law.
A.G. Peterson also expands on his office's crackdown on sex trafficking in the state and who they are focusing on in their awareness campaign.
They finish up by talking a little about the state of Peterson's health, as well as how he got from Lincoln to Malibu and back to Lincoln.

They discuss the planning that goes into 100 trucks plowing the city streets, and what the expectations are, and should be for the average citizen and the snow under their tires.
They then discuss one of the Mayor's Legislative priorities, City library funding and control (LB 969) and the future of Omaha's libraries.
They briefly discuss the fire at M's Pub, and the what will happen next in that location and conclude talking about the new HDR building downtown and what may happen to the buildings on the new acquired space by Omaha Performing Arts.
Jerry Kratochvil interviews former Nebraska Congressman, Omaha Mayor and current Nebraska Regent, Hal Daub.
The two discuss the state of the two-party system in Nebraska, particularly as it affects the Nebraska Legislature. They discuss the "non-partisan" body, and Hal gives his views on whether the Unicameral should be replicated throughout the country and how it could be changed in Nebraska.
He discusses further how some Senators act in the Legislature and how it affects the body as a whole. He then gets down to the nitty-gritty and talks about how the state should affect any changes to the Medicaid system.
They then talk about some of Congressman Brad Ashford's recent comments, saying that he supports both Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush for President. Hal then gives his general thoughts on the Presidential race.
They conclude talking a little about how the University of Nebraska system could change and how certain changes would affect the system as a whole.

Kratochvil and Senator Kintner discuss the beginning of the 2016 Legislative Session, and the first issue Kintner has encountered, as he just left a hearing: open voting for Committee Chairs.
They continue by talking about the turbulent 2015 session and where things went wrong and where they seem to be going. On that note, they discuss the upcoming issues with Medicaid expansion and the Learning Community, among other legislative topics.
They conclude talking about Kintner's style of conservatism and how he got started in politics and why. We also find out about Kintner's passion outside of politics and how he keeps it going today.

Jerry and Senator Fischer discuss the recently passed Highway Bill, why it is important and what it does for Nebraska and the country.
They also discuss the recently passed education bill, and talk about why it too is historic and what it does to dramatically change the way local entities are able to handle education issues. The former school board member talk about how this is one of the few times in recent history that the federal government is actually giving power back to the state and local communities.
They finish up talking about America's war on terror and what she sees, particularly as a member of the Senate Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities.
Jerry Kratochvil interviews three candidates for the Nebraska Legislature -- Patrick Borchers, Dick Clark and Zack Zoul -- to discuss walking door to door in their districts.
Kratochvil gets individual responses from each candidate about their approach to canvassing, their message to voters, what issues are currently important to voters. He also finds out about a few things like dogs, ladybugs, shoes and weight loss programs.
And we look forward to hearing more from these candidates in the future.

Jerry Kratochvil interviews former Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman.
Governor Heineman gives his thoughts on the previous night's GOP Presidential debate, who he thinks did well, and who didn't do so well. He discusses what it means to endorse a candidate and how those individuals are then involved with the national campaigns. And he tells about what one sees at the debates during the commercial breaks.
They also discuss the national primary process, and Nebraska's place in that. Governor Heineman gives his thoughts on the idea of a Republican Caucus in Nebraska, as well as the national primary.
Governor Heineman also talks about what is important in the upcoming Nebraska legislative session, what needs to happen, and whether any lessons can be learned from the experiences of neighboring states.
On this Veterans Day, Governor Heineman tells about his experience as a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and what it was like at Airborne Ranger School.

Jerry and Scott discuss the new group, Keep the Money in Nebraska which will distribute signature petitions for a Constitutional Amendment to grant casino gaming at the five current horsetracks in Nebraska.
Lautenbaugh discusses the economics behind the petitions, the support they have and their plan to get the issues on the November 2016 ballot.
They discuss the types of gaming facilities that would be affected and where. They also discuss some of the opposition to the plan and who is in charge of the group's political operation.

Lee tells Jerry about his life since leaving Congress in 2014 after 16 years in office (not including serving on the Omaha City Council prior to that). He tells a bit about what issues he is involved in now and how he has kept up with the issues since then.
They then get into the discussion of Congressman Terry's opposition from within his own party that began back in 2010, and eventually resulted in his loss in 2014. They talk about the influence of the "Tea Party" and the source of some of his opposition in his races, including the TARP bailout.

Omaha City Councilwoman Aimee Melton and retired Judge Ronald E. Reagan discuss differing views on Nebraska's Death Penalty.
Melton and Reagan, both partners at the same Omaha law firm, are both on new groups on either side of the Death Penalty Debate in Nebraska. Melton talks about what has changed in her duties with "Nebraskans for the Death Penalty" and Judge Reagan discusses how he came to be with the new group "Nebraskans for Public Safety".
The two talk about the use of the Death Penalty in the plea bargain process as well as being on different sides of the political debate in the same firm.
Melton finishes up talking about what can or should be done with the $13M the City recently "found" for the budget process -- and her own future political aspirations.
