Technicoloured is a podcast hosted by Anthony Truong Swan that is a space for artists and activists of colour to discuss race and representation in film and media, and heap praise or criticism on the way we are portrayed.
Every episode, we go to the movies, talk shit about popular culture, and ask what it really means to "see yourself on screen."
On this episode, Swan and his guests talk about being the children of immigrants, side-eye the accents in Kim's Convenience and Black Panther and recommend Train to Busan and Viet Thanh Nugyen's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, The Sympathizer, before being drafted into Vietnam War by Oliver Stone's 1986 Best Picture award winner Platoon, where they dredge up their family stories of escaping the war.
