Okay, here we are, only a week after we recorded the episode. Once we came down from the high that was this finale, it was hard to find the motivation to edit this episode. Apologies, but the wait is now over! Please tune in to hear us recap one of the best finales in the history of this franchise. We cannot say enough good things about the cast and how it all went down. This episode shocked us, made us laugh, made us cry (????), it was perfection. As Liv says, if the entire bachelor franchise ended after this episode, she would not necessarily be mad cause they'd be ending on a high note.
Now we are excited for a much needed little recap break before the next season of the bachelorette!!!!!
We are famous WTA (and MTA) haters!!! And we LOVED this episode!!! Maria is a queen! These ladies are smart and accomplished! Lauren is an immediate icon! Everyone got mad at Lea for saying "gaslit" and it was so validating! And now we have 2 major questions.
1). What is the dramatic thing that happens at the end of Joey's season? And 2). Who on GOD'S GREEN EARTH is going to be the Bachelorette????
Guys we may have actually Mandela Effected ourselves. Both Liv and Grace have a distinct memory of a shot of Joey and Rachel making out in front of a waterfall being present in trailers for this season. However, when we went back, we cannot seem to find it??? We may be losing it, but thankfully we have our fantasy suite faithful guest Anders to hold us down.
In this week's episode Liv and Grace continue to express uneducated medical opinions, and you as the audience will learn that despite the fact that that Grace #believesscience she cannot bring herself to believe in supplements or anemia. On the subject of Joey, hometowns was a fun episode! Crazy stuff happened! Andy bet all the napkins!
Okay we're SORRY this is late. We actually recorded it at a very punctual time, but Grace was feeling unmotivated and did not get around to editing it until now. And if we're being honest she didn't give it her all. Hopefully she didn't miss any juicy secrets she was supposed to cut out.... You'll just have to listen and see.... Is this a new baiting tactic we're trying to get people to listen to the podcast...? Now that's one secret we'll never tell.

Who has the time to dedicate themselves thoroughly to 4 hours of TV in one week??? Okay apparently the answer is us, but it was a challenge (and before you feel targeted remember that when we watch the bachelor it is WORK not PLEASURE). And while we can apparently dedicate ourselves to 4 hours of TV, we simply cannot dedicate 4 hours to podcasting. Therefore you are receiving a very condensed recap of the two episodes from this past week in one succinct, efficient podcast episode. You're welcome.

We need to start off this week with a very somber and serious apology to my good friend Autumn who we so egregiously misrepresented in the last episode. Excellent. Now that we are both looking sexy and hot we can finally begin recording! Sorry for the delay in this episode, schedules are hectic and the grammys are on! This week we were excited to see Rachel emerge as a front runner as she deserves to be, Daisy and Joey make loving eye contact, and Maria be her genuine self which frankly we can't fault her for. We can't wait to keep watching as this season is really shaping up to be an amazing one!
Guys, we love Joey. We love him. It's no surprise that this episode boosted ratings for the first time in years because we are CHARMED. Charmed by him, charmed by Daisy, absolutely blown away by Lea, weirded out by Lauren, etc. This is already shaping up to be an amazing season of the bachelor and we cannot wait to keep watching Joey on his journey to find love. Which we hope he doesn't end up finding so he can be Grace's plus one to Liv's wedding...
It's the start of a new season and you know what that means! It's time for a special pre season episode with everyone's favorite non-bachelor watcher, Mason Lok! We answer such burning questions as, who is the meanest to waiters? Who definitely drives a Prius? And much, much more! (You know Liv wouldn't let us out of one of theses episodes without asking who is most likely to be a magical creature...)

Oh boy. Not going to lie to you guys, this episode has a weird energy. Mostly we are bummed at such a lame an unsatisfying end to what used to be the best part part of the franchise. Then Grace gets weirdly worked up and angry in the middle kind of about nothing? Then we transition to whining about it being boring, finishing off the episode by trying to bring the vibes back up for Joey. What can we say? This episode sucked and this season was poorly designed. That's not our fault, they didn't ask our opinion! Should they hire us? Well that's up to them, but the obvious answer is yes.
Also regarding the extremely vague tease at the beginning of the episode, we just recorded a guest spot on an episode of the Bad Book Report podcast, talking about a book from within the Bachelor franchise. Still don't know when it's coming out, but at least we learned the name!
Two episodes in two days?? We spoil you! Just kidding. We just don't have our shit together. Please enjoy our thoughts on the final 3 episodes of this inaugural season of the Golden Bachelor. It seems like there is simply no way they won't be continuing this series, and we can't wait to keep watching. Our thoughts in this podcast episode are a little disjointed we'll admit. But if you want to hear us gush about the women of this season then you've come to the right place. We had the absolute best time watching this journey for love and we hope you did too!

We're not going to lie to you guys. We're not doing well. Daylight Savings Time really hit us right in the seasonal depression and it shows. If you listen to this episode and you're like "dang this kind of sounds like a cry for help," that's because it is a little bit OKAY?? Also sorry for the weird echo-y noise this week, both of our mics were picking up a little of the other person and Grace tried her best to fix it, but again, the seasonal depression meant she only cared enough to try a certain amount. If you power through we promise everything will be better next week. Probably.
This show is giving us everything, pickleball, never have I ever, Joey, and MORE!!! While we did thoroughly enjoy practically every second of these episodes, we did have to watch Gerry unfortunately fall into every Bachelor's trap. The multiple "I'm in love with you's." Oops!! While this is still one of the best things on television currently, we were reminded a little bit that despite his handsomeness and how charming he is, Gerry is literally just a guy. Before you come for us, watch hometowns. That all being said we absolutely cannot wait to see how his story wraps up, so we will have one more episode covering the tell all, fantasy suites, and the finale once those are all out!
Has a recap podcast episode literally e v e r been this punctual??? (don't answer that). A good but mostly uneventful episode (Grace only had 2.5 pages of notes), but it set us up with great success for shit to hopefully hit the fan this coming week. We are dying for a rose ceremony over here, and even more we are dying for more Charity screen time!! Can't wait to see how it all pans out...

Bachelor in Paradise is back and so are we!!! Overall we started this season off not with a bang, but with more of a... I don't know, something pitiful. It wasn't the most exciting first episode, but Paradise never disappoints, and if the previews are anything to go off of, we are in for a killer season. We can't wait to see what happens, who else shows up on the beach, and how many more people Grace will fully have forgot existed!
We made it to the end of Charity's season!!! We love the way things all wrapped up, but we are sad to see her go. She will go down in history as a phenomenal bachelorette and with any luck she and Dotun will enter the actually married bachelor couple's hall of fame! We love Charity, we love Dotun, we love Joey, we love Jesse Palmer???? So much love for this episode, such a great season of TV, and we cannot WAIT for BIP and the next season of the Bachelor!!!

We spend probably a solid 50% of the episode on Xavier, another 20% on a very raunchy observation, and the final 30% on whatever else happened this episode. Rarely, if ever, have we seen so many home run hometowns in one episode. With the exception of bummer loser Uncle Joe, the family's this week were delightful, charming, and insanely good at saying all the right things. Consider us in love with all of them (just like Charity). Sorry the audio gets a little wonky towards the end, Liv's headphones died so we had to do some device shuffling. Please stick with us, it's not for very long and we have an exciting announcement at the end of the episode!
It's almost hometowns and we're in New Orleans and the drama is at a tasteful simmer. Nothing is boiling over just yet, but you can just tell it's about to. We had two lovely one on one dates this episode that had us blushing and kicking our feet (Joey if you don't ride off into the sunset with Charity, please give Grace a call), and two awkward group dates that accomplished nothing. This week we learned more about how much we love Joey and Dotun, we began to grow skeptical of Xavier, and frankly just felt bad for Tanner. Best of all, we got to learn who sexy #5 for this season was! You gotta listen to find out who it is though....
This was OUR hometown episode because it took place in Washington! Everyone kept talking about how cold it was and hiking - it was like every conversation we've ever had! This was a phenomenal episode of TV with not one, but two, incredible one-on-one dates, and just the right amount of drama. This season continues to be awesome, and if the previews for the coming weeks are to be believed, it's only going to get better from here.
For the first time ever, Grace was more right about who someone looked like than Liv! This will never happen again so savor this historic moment. Who is this mysterious someone? We're not going to tell you so we guess you'll just have to listen to the episode... This episode contained a Barbie themed date, so you KNOW we were invested! This season continues to be awesome. We actually loved the dodgeball game, and Charity seems to be having the absolute best time in the world being the Bachelorette, which is really fun to watch. But what on earth are we going to do with morally-his-heart-is-in-the-right-place-but-he's-an-absolute-buzzkill Adrian and culturally-insensitive-comically-large-earrings Brayden? Finally, before playing this episode we ask that you observe a moment of silence for Josh and his adorable face. Gone but not forgotten.
It's the start of a whole new season, and we even spiffed up our cover art in celebration! (Just kidding, Liv is just a perfectionist and addicted to drawing so this kind of thing happens from time to time). We are so excited to start following Charity's journey as the bachelorette! It already seems like she's going to be a killer lead, and this season seems to be full of interesting characters. Are we perhaps reentering another golden age of the bachelor franchise? Only time will tell, but as always, we'll be along for the ride!!
GIMH, OGM and MKKL are back to kick off Charity's season with one of our most fun episode styles - the question game!! (If you have questions about those initials you have no choice but to listen to at least the first 5 minutes of the episode) This time around we discussed which contestants are likely to think ketchup is spicy, who has possibly been to mar-a-lago (allegedly) (hypothetically) (for legal reasons this is a joke) (we always seem to have to make these disclaimers when Mason comes around), who frequently succumbs to instagram ads, and so much more. We are excited to see who ends up with Charity, who we have agreed is lovely and deserves the best. Join us next week to see if it seems like she's going to get it! We don't think that Jesse Palmer is ever allowed to describe things as "the most low energy and unexciting finale of all time," but if he was that would have been a good way to describe for this episode. Most of what we talked about was how we would have produced this episode differently and frankly better. Justice for Ariel and Gabi, and frankly also Kaity as well, because I don't think the audience has ever felt less excited for an engagement and seemingly successful relationship, and she deserves better as well. Anyways, stick around for our theory about Sean Lowe and also just to finish out this lackluster season with us! We made it through!

We are over the moon to welcome back one of our absolute favorite guests, Anders, to discuss this weeks fantasy suite finasco (as Hannah Ann would put it). You are very much going to enjoy his witty and at times scathing takes on what went down this episode, and we probably also tossed in a couple of good insights too (no promises). Congrats to Zach for finding a new and original way to completely fuck up fantasy suites week. You have to hand it to him, he really pioneered a new way of making everyone mad at him, us included. Also, this isn't a trick to get you to stick around till the very end of the episode, but if you do listen all the way through, we do end up sharing probably our best series of "in an embarrassing turn of events" yet.
In terms of a hometowns week, this was in fact a very boring one. Full of (mostly) supportive feelings, and Zach having a good time. Not enough emotional turmoil for our tastes, and definitely not enough confessions of love. People! We are two weeks away from a proposal at this point! You have to say that you're falling in love!! (Looking at you Gabby....) Anyways, we hope you guys don't tune in for Women Tell All recaps, cause we can't promise one of those is coming, but we do discuss the new and exciting Bachelorette news!
Dear listeners, if anyone can tell us how the magician did the thing with the heart on the hand please let us know, we are very curious and convinced it may actually have been magic. Otherwise we mostly spent the episode talking about how we'd like to go to the Hungarian baths and Budapest does seem like a genuinely romantic place. It's hard to believe that hometowns week is already upon us, and it seems like Kat couldn't believe it either because she played this week INCORRECTLY with meeting the family on the horizon. Can't wait to visit everyone' families and meet Ariel's father who thinks the Bachelor is just one big orgy!!
Our most sincere apologies for a stupid long episode this week. We're not even sure how or why it happened, but some of it can be attributed to Liv's ridiculously good mood, and also the fact that we did like 10 minutes of material on not being detail oriented. This week we fought about whether or not Brooklyn has a slut shame-y attitude towards Kat. Please weigh in and let us know your thoughts. Things are getting down to the wire now and these girls keep throwing us curveballs and making us rethink our final rankings.
Huge disaster befalls the bachelor this week! Apparently they can't get away with traveling multiple different places in a giant group while unmasked and mingling with the public without at least one person testing positive for Covid!!! Who could have foreseen this?? Evidently not Zach because he is 10000% emotionally unequipped to handle this. Emotions run high for just about everyone this episode including us. We even got into a fight live on the air (not really, that's just clickbait to get you to listen). Cross your fingers for a swift recovery for Zach because if he has to go one more day without making progress towards finding his best friend we're genuinely concerned he's going to lose his mind.
The cast of the Bachelor has traveled to the Bahamas this week, and we would also like to go to there. Or skiing. Or basically anywhere that isn't moving or doing a two show day on a Saturday. This week we discussed whether Kat's date to snorkel with sculptures was scary (Grace) or cool (Liv), and get to engage in our first real Wrong Reasons™️ discourse of the season. Zach continues to frankly do a good job of being the bachelor, and we are having a very nice time watching this season. Can't wait to see what disasters lie in store for him in London though...

Ahhhh hello everyone!! Welcome to the start of what seems to be a promising season of the bachelor! Zach is what we call going back to basics. In our opinion, they have tried to be too cool in years past (though we hate to call Peter Weber "cool"), they should just stick to what works - a guy who loves family, football, and frozen pizza (and has a strong attachment to gender roles and the idea of the institution of marriage). Night 1 set us up for what we hope will be a very strong season, though we didn't get to go into as much detail about somethings as we would have wanted. We had limited time because Liv needed to catch a ferry, and right after we recorded the intro we got a phone call from some friends with very exciting news...
The spoiler for that is, if you listen to our podcast, you don't have to wait until the end of Zach's season to hear about an engagement. You can hear about one right now! Congratulations Nate and Claire!!!

You guys holy shit. Grace just decided for kicks to check how many episodes we had before she published this and it turns out this is our ONE HUNDREDTH FREAKING EPISODE?? Imagine if she'd checked after like 3 more episode lol. It feels so fitting for this milestone to fall on a Bachelor in Paradise finale episode. There's so much to cover and we wish the episode had honestly been 2 hours longer (don't tell ABC or Jesse Palmer that we said that), but we did our best to fit everything in. Thank god we didn't know at the time this was our 100th episode, we would have gone on for another 30 minutes. Did we mention it's our 100th episode yet? We did? Oops. THANKS FOR FOLLOWING ALONG FOR ONE HUNDRED FREAKING EPISODES.
Shoutout to Grace's dad for letting her use his phone to record this podcast, and we especially appreciate the restraint he showed in only coming silently into the room to indicate he wanted it back once. If he really wanted his phone back then he shouldn't have been such a loving and generous father during her childhood because now she thinks she can walk all over him (she did not give the phone back). We just want to be upfront and say this episode is primarily recap and less analysis. We ended up saying goodbye to most of our couples this episode and we needed to wrap up their storylines. We smiled all goofy like at lots of things Brandon and Serene said, and combusted in anger at much of what Aaron spewed out of his big mouth. Ultimately this episode was just setting us up for the big showdown finale episode and we have to say WE CANNOT WAIT.
We have possibly never had as many technical difficulties while recording an episode as we did during this one. Internet went out and disconnected our FaceTime call at least 900 times, so if some of our discussion seems disjointed that's why! It was especially frustrating that the internet decided to do this during our discussion of this episode specifically because this was an especially crazy one!! If there was ever any doubt about whether people are complex creatures, and life is made up of situations where it is impossible for just one person to be in the right, this episode is proof of those things. Perhaps that's too deep a read of Bachelor in Paradise, but we're doing it anyways! And for the record there is simply no way itching is low level pain. (This study linked is from 2013 so this in not new information AARON).
What is worse: being a human taco, human burrito, or human churro? If you're not sure what exactly that means, don't worry. We discuss it at great, great length in this episode of the podcast. It is one of very few issues where Liv and Grace are on very different sides of the argument. Other prime examples of issues where they are split are the attractiveness of 6th movie Ron Weasley, Mr. Tumnus, and how to go about cutting a lemon. Pretty much nothing good happened this episode, so if you enjoy our commentary when we hate things then you are in luck!
Honestly, it was nice to have a bit of a lull and only have one episode of BIP this week. Don't get us wrong, we love the content, but it can be a lot to keep up with! As is always the case, when we predict that we'll have a short episode cause there's not much to discuss, we end up with one of our longest episodes yet. Remember that there's not two of them so it's still worth tuning in!

You're gonna hand us Hayden saying crazy stuff on a silver platter and not expect us to do a deep dive into that one? You're gonna have us watch not one, but two, absolutely wild Aaron and Genevive fights and not expect us to do a complete analysis of how the two of them communicate? There was A LOT to say on what happened this episode, though frankly, if next week's trailer is any indicator, it's only going to get crazier from here.
This episode was sort of two-fold. It started with probably the shortest and least dramatic cocktail party ever, an incredibly predictable rose ceremony, and then a date between two people that we know like each other. The unexpected bit came with Justin's dramatic reappearance, and trust us, we have THOUGHTS on that. Anything nice we ever said about Justin, please strike that from the record. Please tune in to us complaining about him for 30 minutes straight, and to hear Liv's imitation of the vocal fry he does in what appears to be an attempt to impress women he is interested in.
Content Warning: We spent soooo much of this episode kind of defending Shanae? Look we don't like it either. We just also don't like Logan or Kate. There were very few bright lights in this episode because Brandon and Serene are too cute for production to care about them, and screen time was instead given to infuriating situations. Also don't get your hopes up for a rose ceremony, we have to wait yet another episode for that.

Lots of people were just in a silly goofy mood this week, while also somehow being some of the most depressed people we've ever seen on the show? We're loving the new development where the girls just boo Jesse Palmer every time he walks into a room. That is also how we feel we would react in the moment. We also finally had some real life Bachelor Nation stuff to discuss, and it feels like it's been forever since that's been the case! We would say this recap episode has all the classic things you could want, except for us discussing a rose ceremony, because there hasn't been one in what feels like a century!!! When did this franchise develop a freaking allergy to rose ceremonies??? Ugh, at least it looks like we'll finally get one next episode.
This episode was a tricky one to recap, because the producers just kept cutting back and forth between the fruits of their labor (women crying in a hotel and men flirting it up on the beach). There were a few meaty things to talk about, namely what Logan and Shanae were up to and what's going to happen with Lace and Rodney, but ultimately it was a pretty predictable episode. It mostly felt like episode 1 of this week was setting up the dominos, and episode 2 was knocking them down. We are looking forward to next week when hopefully it will be revealed to the men that their girlfriends have been hanging out in a hotel with a bunch of hotties all week, because we would very much like to see them sweat (though not as much as Rodney...).

That's what we have to say to the producers after they kicked up the literal psychological torture of the contestants this week. We'd like to give a special shout out and thank you to Jill for providing us with our new favorite retort. It's exactly what you need when replying to idiots who are so dead set on being an idiot they are never going to listen to anything but the sound of their own voice. So last week the first episode of the week was absolutely wild, and the second one was pretty boring in comparison. This week they really flipped that narrative. Monday's episode was decent, but without too much to really dig our teeth into, Tuesday's episode however.... We got to dive into Salley's treatment by production, Pizza Pete's terrible personality, Britney's ability to continue to swerve annoying men, somehow STILL Ashley and Jared, and of course Kira's hail mary move with Romeo. There's so much to talk about and so little time before the next week of episodes start airing and we have to deal with casa amore (or whatever ABC will be calling their rip off version of that) so hurry up and hit play!!!
This week Liv and Grace break down several pressing questions. Is Ashley and Jared's presence annoying? Did Sierra come on to strong? Would you rather get in a fight with Justin or Logan? We know those have been keeping you up at night and so we have answers for you! The answers are primarily that being a human is complicated and there's no right way to exist in social situations. That being said there are a lot of wrong ways, and we plan on pointing them out. Wow what a crazy time jump between recording our last episode and this one! Did we record them both in the same evening because that made sense for our schedules? Yes. However, you cannot blame corporate greed and trying to make as many episodes as possible to generate more ad sponsorships because we make zero dollars from this podcast. So there! We finally get our first rose ceremony of the season in this episode, Ashley I and Jared show their silly little faces for the millionth time, and Rodney's delightful arrival is rudely overshadowed.

This episode had everything you could ever ask for: Wells, margaritas, someone faking their birthday, and a boy who made his own life a mess pre-paradise by getting too cocky. It also had things we didn't ask for: a disgusting looking hot tub, Johnny rapping, and a man's full penis. And this is just the first episode! Consider us buckled up because we are along for the ride, and we are so excited to take you with us!
Alright you guys, you got us. We did an absolutely shit job recapping this season, by which we mean we did not do it at all. In our defenses they don't get the Bachelorette in Europe, which is where Grace was for most of the season, and Liv is also very busy and hot and cool doing her own stuff. We promise to do better for Bachelor In Paradise. We mostly feel confident in that promise because BIP is actually fun, unlike the joyless, time suck that was this season. In this episode we discuss all the problematic themes with the finale, the disappointing choice of a new bachelor, and basically have a bunch of fucking fun because we love doing this podcast and have missed all of us spending this time together!!! We're baaaaaack!!! Our sincere apologies for the long LONG hiatus, we knew we were going to have to take a break when Grace got jaw surgery, but no one could have predicted the shit show that followed. As the hardware has finally been mostly removed from her mouth, and she has been given the go ahead to speak without clenching her teeth together, we were finally able to get recording again. However, so many big things have happened in the world of the bachelor franchise since we last recorded that we didn't feel like we could just jump right back in. Consider this episode a warm up for us and for you - it gave us a chance to get back into the swing of things, and it'll catch you up on everything we haven't been updating you on. Now we can move forward into Rachel and Gabby's season without needing to get hung up on a discussion about Becca and Thomas or Becca and Hayley or any of the other Becca's who updated their relationship status in the last 2.5 months!
You're telling us we've been doing this podcast for two years??? Is this a joke?? We have now recapped 7 full seasons of this show (6 if you don't count Listen to Your Heart, which maybe we shouldn't...) and done plenty of fun stuff during the off seasons. The second year of Wrong Reasons brought us Bachelor Bookclub and The Question Game (feat. Mason Lok) - two of our absolute favorite types of episodes. We have had so much fun continuing to get creative and weird with this podcast, and have plenty more fun ideas for this coming year. We are literally so proud of ourselves for keeping this episode under two hours. Who knows why we thought it would be a good idea to recap these two episodes in just one evening, but in our defense we did not think it would literally be the most dramatic finale in bachelor history. They tell us that every year, we had no reason to actually think it was true! This finale was full of twists and turns, we gasped out loud, we shouted at the screen, we flipped on Clayton multiple times, it was a real roller coaster. If you are not planning on watching we do recommend going back and just watching Gabby's speeches, and everything that Clayton's dad said. Clayton is the dumbest man on the face of the planet, this wild season is finally over - bring on the bachelorettes!!!
We thought about doing two episodes, but let's be real - the Women Tell All didn't need a whole hour long discussion. It was almost entirely yelling about arguments we've already seen play out with no new developments. It did however, bring us the joy of remembering Claire from night one who claimed she hated Clayton so just took full advantage of the open bar instead. She is the only one who has been bringing the correct energy to this season from the start. Then we moved on to our discussion of fantasy suites which was dominated by talking about Susie and Clayton's date. Why you ask? Oh just because Clayton finally revealed his true colors as a super manipulative and unkind trash human and Susie dodged the biggest bullet in history. This is officially a Clayton hate podcast now (it kinda felt like on before, but it's official now).
Has there ever been a more boring, less confrontational hometowns episode? Probably not. I mean I know we're always saying we hate unnecessary drama, but jesus they gotta give us SOMETHING. We have never seen the parents be so throughly unfussed with this whole bachelor situation, though to be fair it did mostly seem to be because they were coming at it from the position of "she's in charge of what makes her happy and we trust her to make good decisions" about their daughters, which we do appreciate. The biggest conflict this episode was between the two of us because Liv (an insane person) found Clayton's freak out on the obstacle course endearing, while Grace (sane and with good taste) got the strongest ick of her life from it. Please weigh in and let us know your own personal experience watching Clayton try to cross those wobbly blocks.
Guys, Clayton suuuucks!!!! Literally he was so annoying this episode and also so was almost everyone else except Sarah. Frankly we are #teamsarah and if you think differently we would love to hear your reasoning. This episode was redeeming for almost no one, and included a very inappropriate and uncomfortable therapy date that crossed yet another new boundary for the bachelor franchise (in a bad way if that wasn't clear). Lucky for you guys we spent like 20 minutes at the top of the episode blabbing about our lives and all kinds of fun stuff, so please enjoy that special treat!
This is now a Marry Me staring Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson podcast. Honestly this movie probably took up about 15% of our discussion, but trust us, you're gonna want to hear Anders' thoughts. Oh yeah - Anders is back! We were so happy he was able to join us for this episode to discuss the insanely blatant producer handling of both Clayton and the contestants. If there was ever a week when the producers might have been regretting choosing a literal lump of clay as the Bachelor, it was probably this one - then again maybe they just felt like Clayton was making their jobs easier. We don't know what else to say other than Clayton has never appeared more robotic than he did this week, and that is a high bar to meet!
5 weeks in and we can't stop calling Clayton "Colton." We're never going to get it!! This season just keeps getting wilder and wilder, and shows no sign of slowing down any time soon! We had to kind of power through this episode because Liv had another commitment she needed to get to (she literally made it with one minute to spare), so this episode was a bit more rushed that we like ours to be. However, hopefully you still felt like you were treated to our usual gold standard information/comedy combo that we are so well known for (thank you again to our 4 listeners).
Guys, we don't know what to tell you. We were feeling mean today. Lucky for you that also means that we had a lot of hilarious observations for you to hopefully enjoy and not judge us too harshly on. This season is getting messier by the second, and we are along for the ride whether we like it or not. It has felt like literal years since we've recorded an episode, but apparently it has only been two weeks. Clayton continues to bring all the flavor and intrigue of a 4 year old stale graham cracker, but at least we had shrimp-gate to keep us engaged this episode. There's really not much to say about Clayton's relationship with any of these women, so we will simply have to count on their relationships with each other to bring the entertainment.
If you thought Clayton was a snoozefest before... He somehow managed to lose any whisper of a personality he might have had between last week and this week. Luckily there are some interesting women on this season by which we mean Cassidy (terrible person, great TV), Elizabeth (seems like a good person, enduring emotional trauma with incredible grace on TV), and Ziwe (she's not a contestant, she was just the only other interesting person in this episode). Whoever underutilized Hilary Duff this episode should be fired, and whoever suggested Ziwe deserves a raise. In fact we'd like the two of them to host another season of the bachelorette that starts right now so we can skip the rest of Colton- we mean Clayton's season.
This week we welcomed Grace's cousin Timothy to help us kick of Colton- we mean Clayton's season! Is Clayton boring? Yes. Is this group of women absolutely wild? Also yes. Are we going to be able to tell Clayton and Jesse apart? Definitely not. Night one is always tough because there's so many names to remember and very few story arcs, that being said multiple crazy things still went down and we can't wait to talk about them with you!

Welcome back to the question game, with one of our absolutely favorite people to have on the pod: Mason! Please enjoy us haphazardly answering questions based on the bios of all the women lining up to win Clayton's heart. We did varying levels of prep (from most to least: Grace, Mason, Liv), but we also have varying levels of insider knowledge (from most to least: Liv, Grace, Mason), and of course varying levels of disrupting the rules of the game by just answering the same person over and over again (from most to least: Mason, Liv, Grace). We have to say, this is a very good way to get to know a little about the women ahead of time, so highly recommend you brush up by listening to this episode before watching Clayton's night 1. ;)
We are feeling very bittersweet and satisfied by the ending of Michelle's season. We are so happy for her and Nayte, but so sad that she will no longer be gracing our TV screens every week. She has been a phenomenal bachelorette and deserves every happiness, and it seems like her and Nayte have found that!!! This was a great episode of television to finish off a season that has essentially been utter perfection. I'd make some depreciating joke about not looking forward to Clayton's season, but I couldn't possibly bully him worse than ABC did at the end of this episode so I'm just going to end this here.
We welcomed back BFF of the pod, Anders, for this fantasy suites recap! Things are really heating up and emotions are running high (our emotions that is). Brandon seems to be going off the rails a little bit with how obsessed with Michelle he is, Nayte has apparently zero questions or things he wants to discuss despite the proposal happening next week, and Joe.... Sweet, sweet, Minnesota Joe... Anyways, everything else that happens on this season is bound to shock and surprise us no matter what, so be sure to tune in next week to hear us recap the finale of Michelle's bachelorette journey!!!
Once again we are wishing this episode was called "Men Tell None" but you can't always get what you want, can you? The terrible men continued to be terrible, and the non terrible men barely spoke at all - the worst kind of TV. Very sorry to Michelle, Kaitlin and Tayshia for having to sit in the same room with some of this absolute a-holes. They deserve better. Here's hoping we never see some of these guys again, and that Olu blesses our screen this summer in paradise.
Rodney was ROBBED. Not of Michelle's heart, but of the position of Bachelor and worst of all of his brand!!!! ABC we are absolutely furious with you on behalf of the angel that is Rodney - you do not deserve him! That being said this was an absolutely lovely hometowns episode, not a thing to complain about the whole way through basically. Grace would like to eat her words - she has no problem admitting she was wrong and the Bachelorette is much better than the Bachelor. Not looking forward to IMPOSTER Clayton's season after the triumph that is Michelle.
Wow Grace cannot WAIT to talk about Martin's behavior this week with her therapist. Other that that steaming pile of garbage masquerading as a human, we have got to give it up for Michelle's final 6! Not a bad guy in the bunch! This week we were primarily just charmed. And we are prepared to remain charmed as we head into hometowns which is somehow next week??
Would you believe that we were genuinely trying our best to make this a reasonable length? However we had multiple life kurfluffles that caused delays in our recording, and then approximately 9,000 major things happened in bachelor nation! We had to cover so much juicy content before we were even able to start digging into this juicy episode! The remaining men on this season are almost all stellar, and we just know that multiple hearts are going to get broken, which is a bummer. Wishing all the best for most of them! (We are wishing Martin and Chris S sadness and shriveled dicks).
First and foremost Grace would like to apologize for how sicky she sounds. She really didn't think it was that bad until she was editing and heard her 1 million sniffles. We do still recommend listening despite her snotty voice, as this was yet another stellar episode of the bachelorette. We have a lot of thoughts about the men of this season, a lot of fashion critiques, a lot of slightly bitchy analogies, and plenty of positive thoughts as well. As has been the case with every episode so far this season, there were multiple really good conversations worth hearing and a great deal of men talking out of their buttholes. Please enjoy!
Michelle continues to reign supreme as the greatest lead of all time who could ever exist. We are nearly as smitten with her as this cast of men, possibly even more so. If we're being perfectly honest we talked for at least 30 minutes before even getting to what happened on the show this episode, so we kind of sped through some things - but we hit all the important parts. At this point in the season the main point of contention between Liv and Grace is how sexy is Rodney? Is he friendzone material or not? Would you be threatened by him as a romantic rival? We have very different positions on these matters and would love for you to weigh in.

You guys Michelle is so good at her job!!! Both as a teacher and as the bachelorette!!! She handled every situation in this episode like a champ, and what a good episode it was! It had the perfect amount of drama in all the right ways, 2 group dates, a one-on-one, a cocktail party, and a rose ceremony. We really can't say enough good things (which is why the episode is long again lol whoops). We also talked about all the drama happening in bachelor nation right now and Grace embarrassing herself in front of her boss.
It's finally time!!! Michelle's season is here and we could not be more excited! She truly just lights up the screen and we are so excited for her to find the love of her life. Unfortunately this is the group of men that she has to choose from, but there could be a winner or two in there, you never know. This week we were joined by Carly Lant to discuss how much we all respect teachers and whether or not Nayte is actually 6'8.
This season they really went with a go big (get engaged) or go home vibe. This week we welcomed back Anders to discuss the finale episode and the season as a whole. There were three whole engagement and we are very happy for all the couples! We are not sure how many of them will actually make it to the alter, but that's okay! Usually the end of paradise is a little sad because it's just so much fun to watch, but this year we are simply chomping at the bit for Michelle's season to start! As we wind down this season we have in our thoughts the poor souls who producers decided to torture by sending them down to the beach with date cards when people are supposed to be getting engaged in like 3 days. Honestly we can only see one, maaaaaybe two engagements coming out of this season, and very few other couples agreeing to leave the beach together. Even with all the drama this episode, this has felt like a rather lackluster end to the season. Oh well, we can only hope that things will pick back up next week for the freaking FINALE!!!!!
This week felt a little drawn out. Mostly it was some catch up and resolution on some of our more solid, long time couples, with a bit of new couple drama thrown in. We are getting to the end of paradise here so it is frankly getting a little tiresome to watch people fight over individuals who you know they aren't going to end up dating outside of paradise. The fun part about this show is you usually get at least 2 couples who make it a fairly long time afterwards, and we want to see who they are going to be this season! So stop going on dates and just tell each other you love each other already!!!
If this whole episode was just Aaron and his "big facts" we would not have had any complaints. However it had Brendan being a dickwad and some toe sucking so we do in fact have complaints. We hoped this would be the last episode where we had to discuss dickwad Brendan, but alas that seems like it will not be the case. Keep tuning in to hear the rest of our thoughts on Paradise, because after this week we only have two episodes left!!!!
So the drama did in fact continue on Tuesday this week, but we only got resolution to 1 out of the 3 crazy storylines from Monday! The rest was just new drama! And the preview for next week looks even crazier than this week!! We're not sure how much more we can handle!!!! It was almost enough good TV to make Grace forget we have now gone a full week without a rose ceremony. almost... (she's still pissed).
The theme of this episode was "lie better"!!! If you are going to insult us and Natasha with your shoddy plans that no one seems to be on the same page about, you could at least have the decency to come up with better lies about it?? But alas we have learned that sweet, innocent seeming Brendan is actually the fuckiest of boys who lacks even a shred of empathy. Oh how the mighty have fallen (to see exactly how far check out @bachelordata). This was another wild episode, and we are in for another wild one coming up this week! We can't wait to update you on what happens, but until then #teamnatasha.
What an episode! It is absolutely insane how no one knows how to talk to each other. For the second episode in a row every relationship is falling apart. However, Becca K and Kendall are both even hotter than we remembered so that's neat. We continue to be tired of Demi.
Oh my god you guys, sorry for such a long episode, but this week was bananas! Also we were both super tired so it is possible that our train of thought kept wandering, but mostly there was so much to cover! People getting together, break-ups and almost no make-ups. Honestly Mari throwing a cake in a fire is one of the less dramatic things that happened if you ask us. And frankly we found that irritating - much like Tre and Riley we thought it seemed like a waste of cake.
The theme of this episode was apparently sex appeal. Thomas and Riley both entered the beach looking sexy as hell. Thomas once again proved he has a 0/10 personality and is not long for paradise, but Riley once again out did himself with being a fucking amazing person. Could we handle all that sincerity and eye contact in a relationship? Absolutely not. But we are delighted for anyone who can. However, despite all the sexiness on the beach this week it was still easy to pick out the best couple: Tahzjuan and her crab.
Paradise is in full swing now babes, with two episodes a week! How are we to keep up? Don't worry, we'll spare you from having to watch 4 full hours of tv per week if you instead just listen to 2 full hours of our podcast per week instead! (We're only getting slightly better at keeping it concise). This week the ones who stood out were those who don't know how to play the game (looking at you Brendan and Kelsey). Tammy seems to be taking over as the new queen of paradise and we are certainly not going to stop her. With Aaron beside her there is simply no villain these two cannot unionize against.
Paradise is back and better than ever babyyyyy!!! This week was just episode one and it already proved why BIP is everyone's favorite part of the franchise! We were excited to welcome back old favorites and to see old least favorites get ignored by a beach full of hot people. We can't wait to see what's next and watch a full 4 hours of bachelor content every week. Also I am not sure what producer figured out or made the Tahzjuan/Tre's Uncle thing happen - but they deserve to make more money than Mike Fleiss (I mean everyone does, he's a terrible person, but you get what we're saying).
MESSY MESS MESS are the eloquent words we would choose to describe this episode. But it's over y'all, we made it through another season, and we did it together which is the important part. This episode did not need to be three hours, but we had a lot to say on the things that happened in it so this is still a long recap, sorry that's our bad. Overall this was a very watchable season until the very end, when it became, as we said, a MESSY MESS MESS. But hey, now that that's over we can get back to everyone's favorite event - Bachelor in Paradise!!!!! We are so excited for this upcoming season and will be back next week to discuss it with you all!

WE WERE TRICKED. This was not hometowns, this was bamboozlement! We only got 20 minutes of Michael A. and then had to watch a whole hour and 40 minutes of Men Tell All (well it would have been an hour and 40 minutes except our wifi kept going out for long chunks of time so it was really more of a whoosie-whatsits of time). Highlights include the sweet angel baby that is Michael, Andrews extraordinary masterclass in how to be the Bachelor, and Tayshia and Kaitlyn lookin smoking hot as always. Lowlights include Connor B being a general disappointment.
Hometowns are next week??? Somehow hometowns always sneak up on us! But you know what they mean - lots of men telling a girl how much their moms will love her. They can't all love her, that's not how it works. One or more of them have to be lying. This episode was fine, but was honestly mostly a vessel to get us through to our FINAL FOUR BABYYY! For the contestants this week was about complaining about not getting to jerk off and making fun of Hunter for being short and liking The Bachelor. Not a cute look you guys. Seattle is in the middle of a heat wave and we are tired and sweaty!! But that didn’t stop us from watching this episode from the safety of a dark room with AC. Compared to last week, this episode felt like kind of slow going, especially with a group date that they completely copy/pasted from Tayshia’s season. However the rose ceremony was truly shocking and we finally got to see see the long awaited arrival of Blake! Now the true question is Blake: hotter or notter from the last time we saw him?

We know we've talked a lot about a person named Mason on past episodes, this is not that same Mason! (We talk about Liv's boyfriend Mason Carter pretty frequently, but this is Mason Lok, our friend from college™). Katie's reign as Bachelorette is about to begin and we'll be back to our regularly scheduled content, but we wanted to squeeze in one more off season episode before then. This week we get to know the men of the upcoming season a little better with Liv's favorite game! We know we covered some of this in a prior episode, but here we go more in depth on real facts provided by these gentlemen (like who is a self described 'Renaissance Man'). We had a blast and Mason Lok is a freaking phenomenal podcast guest and all around delight so we think you'll really enjoy this episode! For this episode we were delighted to welcome Jay and Jasmine (who host their own pod titled A Working Woman and Her Dumb Friend - check it out)! This poetic memoir from Chris Siegfriend (with a little help from Desiree Hartsock) would have been truly incredible satire, if it was in fact satire. Unfortunately the author seems to be taking himself incredibly seriously, meaning that instead of being funny this book is just truly baffling. But, if you've ever thought "hey, I love minor league baseball and poetry - I wish someone would combine those two things" this is certainly the book for you!
A Working Woman and Her Dumb Friend
Welcome to Bachelor Book Club, where we read almost exclusively terrible books by members of the bachelor franchise. This week we discussed possibly the only not terrible book in this genre, and that's only depending on how you look at it. I Didn't Come Here to Make Friends: Confessions of a Reality Show Villain by Courtney Robertson is a hilarious, shocking and wild read - and if you don't want to take our word for it just ask Anders! We were so happy to have literary and Bachelor scholar, Anders, back on the show this week to talk about this book with us (he literally wrote an English thesis on The Bachelor so needless to say he's over qualified for this segment). Since we recommend this book but doubt any of you will read it, we can only assure you that this episode is the next best thing and therefore you should really listen to it and rate us 5 stars. Oh no, we already disregarded the sage advice of Courtney! "Don't beg. It's unattractive." (page 59).
It's our freaking one year anniversary, can you believe that?? When we sat down with Max, a broken leg, and the start of a global pandemic last April we had no idea what we were doing or what to expect. Now we only kind of have an idea of what we're doing, but doing this podcast for the past year has been an absolute blast. We are so grateful to everyone and anyone who listens to the nonsense we've been spewing and we intend to keep doing it! For this episode we just wanted to have a good time and reflect on a year in bachelor nation and our lives. It's fun, it's flirty, it's thriving. We'll be back to regularly scheduled bachelor book club next week, because we are sure as heck not going anywhere.

That being said we still had a blast discussing it because we were joined by the lovely Claire Jones (expert on both reading and reality TV)! We had a lot to say about this book being bad, but also about how much we love the romance genre in general, and we threw in a few recs for actually good romance books to read if you've got the itch. Matt James deserved better than this finale. We have so enjoyed watching him this season and it made us very sad to see his journey come to a close like this. That being said Emmanuel Acho absolutely destroyed as host of After the Final Rose and we want him to come back every time! The bachelorette announcement was also very exciting and gave us a little flicker of hope, but there are still a million and one problems with the bachelor franchise, and if we are going to keep watching this show it is also our responsibility as viewers to continue to hold ABC accountable. See you this spring for Katie's season! (And maybe a little bachelor bookclub coming to you soon).
Other than the problematic airing of a deeply personal conversation between Matt and his father this really felt like the most boring fantasy suites week in a while. And Rachel's episode long breakdown was not what we needed to make it more engaging. That is why we were so glad to welcome Anders back to the pod this week because he can make any subject entertaining!
Also we had many difficulties this episode, technical and not technical, so please bear with us as Grace is not a professional editor! That being said I think she did a pretty good job (Grace also wrote this).
Grace and Liv discuss Taylor Nolan's tweets, as well as the least dramatic Women Tell All in Bachelor history (that they somehow managed to make two hours long). Also yay Brittany!

We bid a satisfying and joyful farewell to Anna and Victoria, and are bored out of our skulls by an episode primarily about Rachel and Kit. Maybe that's why we went on so many tangents. Grace & Liv go on 79 tangents but still somehow make it through the episode. The main character of this episode was definitely the donkey we forgot to talk about. Also if anyone is interested in joining our Bachelor Book Club we're starting a reading list.
Grace & Liv complain about Victoria for a long time, just like everyone else in the episode. They are also pleasantly surprised by the number of seemingly chill and articulate participants who also happen to be incredibly hot.

Well we made it folks. To the end of the season that first destroyed and then renewed our faith in the bachelor franchise. It also gave us one of our most favorite new bachelor couples to date (congrats Tayshia and Zac <3)!! We are joined yet again by best-friend-of-the-pod Anders to recap this final episode and briefly discuss our hopes for future seasons, as well as which actresses we frequently confuse for one another. We are back on board the loving the bachelorette train!! This episode was totally predictable and we enjoyed every minute of it! Can't wait to see how the season wraps up!!! (well Liv already watched the finale and Grace accidentally saw spoilers but you get the point...)
Liv and Grace will continue to be sad for the rest of the season because we love literally every single person left and just want Tayshia to marry all of them and never send any of them home. But she has to do it. And we are SAD ABOUT IT. Also everyone has terrible opinions but us about Ben.
First of all we love our final four guys!! Only good part of this episode!!! (Other than Riley and Jason at the Men Tell All - we love you bbs). Fun fact: the T in "MTA" actually stands for terrible - which is what this episode was.
Liv and Grace have a bad time talking about Bennet and his weird presence and presents (get it?). We stan Zac C. Send Blake home.
Joining us this week are Louise and Gio - also known as our little sisters!!! It is very cute and fun and we had a blast talking about some of our bachelor nation faves, as well as what we hated about this episode. Obviously Ivan was a shining star, but there was not much else to redeem this week. And of course the question on everyone's minds: Zach C. - Zaddy or no?
Oops this episode is very long and an unfortunate amount of time is spent on exposition about Ed and Chasen. We are very sorry, it's just that we couldn't care less about them and so we didn't have anything funny to say about the situation cause we just hate it. But we also get to talk about how much we love Joe, Liv's genius plan for becoming the Bachelorette, and also Grace gets the hiccups at one point. Enjoy!
In an unfortunate turn of events Grace and Liv are forced to defend Spencer (very hot) and look at multiple men in speedos (very not hot). That being said we are SO excited that Tayshia is finally the bachelorette and can't wait to finish the season with her!! (p.s. why is Kenny still on this show?)

Wow everyone. We thought these audio files were lost to time, but on this fine day in late February we unearthed them from the depths of our "sent" folders. We don't want to make ourselves seem over-important, but we really feel like this podcast episode is one for the history books. Why? Because HOLY SHIT WE RECORDED IT SO LONG AGO.
