Who Elects The President?

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. The Supreme Court will hear a case on so-called “faithless electors” - electors who don’t vote the way they’re supposed to. The truthis that the Founders designed a system in which each state gets a certain number of votes, based on their population, and the states choose people - electors - they believe they can trust to cast wise votes for them. When we vote in November, we will not be voting for a president but for electors to represent us when the electoral college casts the only votes that actually count in a presidential election. According to the Founders’ Constitution, once the people have chosen their electors in November, those electors can vote for anyone they choose. States have no legal authority to control them or to compel them to vote a certain way. Let’s hope the Court applies the Constitution the way the Founders wrote it.
