For the past year, I’ve been exploring the concept of minimalism and what it is to live a minimalist lifestyle. Now that I’m actively paying off debt, I have begun to notice that making a decision to purchase an item does more than just take your money. It takes up space and your energy and can come between you and your goals. Like any journey, your “why” will be unique to you. In this episode, I’m listing 5 reasons minimalism is the lifestyle for me, and 5 things it isn’t for my own personal journey. Pull up a seat and let’s talk about it. Then, let’s get rid of some stuff!

What’s your word for 2021? Wait, before you say anything...really think about it. The word you choose is more than just a word. It requires action. Let me explain...my word for 2019 was growth. Believe me when I say it started raining. My word for 2020 was worship. And let me tell you that there were days this year when all I could do was get on my knees and sing about how good God is, because it seemed He was the only thing good in my life. What’s your word? Are you willing to put everything aside to bring your word to life to help bring you closer to your purpose? What if it means you have to walk away from the year you think you have planned for yourself?

What do a fire, a Netflix Series, and a book all have in common? They gave me more time.
What would you do with more time? This week, I’m talking about my journey to a minimalist lifestyle. Let’s talk about it!

In life, there are two kinds of people. One who gets up the second their first alarm goes off, and one who hits snooze for an hour then runs out the door. They somehow meet + find each other and the rest is history, or at least that’s how our story goes. Do opposites really attract? We think so! This week, I’m having a conversation with my boyfriend, Derrick, on our life + love together. Grab some coffee, pull up a seat, and get to know us a little better.

Do you ever have the realization that day after day nothing looks like it's changing, but when you look back you notice everything is different? What happens when you realize that nothing is the same? Our instinct is to apologize for it and try to minimize our growth to still fit in the boxes people have placed us in. This week I want to remind you how important it is to keep changing and to not apologize for it.

It’s November! Time to drink Pumpkin Spice Lattes while putting up the Christmas tree. Although our culture praises the holiday season, don’t forget that mainstream culture has also turned this joyful season into the season of consumerism, so if you’re not buying into it this year (literally) it’s okay. I want to talk about factors that contribute to holiday blues, especially during a pandemic, and why it’s okay to not be okay during the Holiday Season. Grab a hot drink, let’s talk about it!

As humans, we’re made to look out for one another and made to serve. This doesn’t mean we weren’t also made to rest when we get tired. In this episode, I talk about the importance of taking care of yourself and by being intentional on how you refill your cup when it’s empty. Grab a cup of your favorite drink, let’s talk about it.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever struggled with comparison. Same. In this episode, I talk about that ugly spirit of comparison. We’ve all met it, and it has a horrible habit of showing up just when we’re content with our own lives. Let’s talk about how we can root for her or him, and still know we are fully capable of showing up and doing what we’re meant to do.
