David Woods Bartley has been to mental hell and back. At one point in his life, he was standing on the edge, ready to jump from the 730-foot-tall Foresthill Bridge in California. At the last second a first responder made a connection with him and saved his life.

Since that incident, he has navigated from the isolation of mental “hellness” to the inclusive space of mental wellness. Now he delivers keynote speeches, group presentations, interactive workshops, and training programs to help people improve their mental health. He helps people understand how connection creates hope and how hope can save lives - like it saved his.

In this episode, we talk about what it’s like to feel disconnected, isolated, and hopeless - to be standing on the very edge of death and how to make it back to living a good life. Seems very appropriate for the times.

In this episode, we talk about Millennials, what makes them tick, how to bring out the best in them, and how they might bring out the best in you at home and at work.
