For the last several weeks we have been discussing the Israelites journey as they went and conquered the promised land of Canaan. This week we cover twelve chapters in the book of Joshua and close out the chapter. We see the final efforts of the Israelites attempt to drive out the Caanaites or to leave them in place. We also discuss the Israelite leader Joshua’s final words to his people.

The story of Samson is one triumph, indulgence, but most of all redemption. This Iconic story is found in the book of Judges chapters 13 - 16. Samson was born to Manoah and His wife who lived in a Zorah. An angel of God appeared to this couple and told them they would have a son who would be a Nazarite, set apart to God from birth. No razor to ever touch his head. When the average person thinks of Samson they think of the Delilah and the collapse of the Temple but the story has several gems scattered throughout.

Moses, the longtime leader of the children of Israel, sinned against God, and thus, he lost the privilege to lead the children of Israel into the promised land. God had already appointed a new leader. Before Moses bowed out gracefully, he had one final admonition for the children of Israel. That admonition is given to us in the form of the book Deuteronomy. Balaam was a well-known prophet who knew the one true God and listened to His direction. However, Balaam was human and was not perfect, even though he was a prophet. The Book of Leviticus. The book raises a lot of questions. What was the purpose of this book? Why is this book in the bible? Why were all these laws given and how relevant are they still? And these are only some of the questions that come to mind when the book of Leviticus is brought up. This book has gotten a bad rep in recent years and its actual purpose gets lost and misconstrued. The book of Leviticus' purpose was God providing a pathway to live amongst his people in a safe way. But to not steal away from the episode that's all I will say for now. Moses, a Hebrew baby, drawn out of the water by the princess of Egypt. He was able to be raised by his birth mother and then was turned over to the princess to be brought up as Egyptian royalty. He had his plan own how he would save his people. By as we see when you take matters into your own hands and not rely on God things have a ways of going South. Joseph has sure lived an interesting life up to this point. He has gone from a pit to rising in charge of Potiphar's house. Thinking this was the peak, his rollercoaster instantly hit a drop sending him to prison. However, the ride was not over, there was on final climax! Joseph, was blessed by God and rose to second in command in all of Egypt. All that he went through prepared him for this moment. One would think, now that he was ruling Egypt, he could put his past behind him. Little did he know his past would come knocking on his door. Joseph interpreted the chief butler's dream and was forgotten. He may have thought that his only hope for getting out was now lost. However, God was still working on Joseph's behalf and the tide was about to change. One night, Pharaoh had two consecutive dreams, that disturbed him to his core.
