There is some unintended distortion going on somewhere in the FX-chain, but I really like the vibe of this jam.

One channel of the Volca Beats connected to the mixer and one to the Zoom MS 70-CDR, both mixed, to get a dry and a wet signal.
Used a compressor and high pass filter on the CDR to clean up the bass frequencies. Added a bitcrusher and a sample/hold filter for texture and movement, connected to a delay for a rhythmic response.

Just the Behringer TD-3 playing some semi randomized patterns (a random pattern put to the right scale) - the rest is done on the fly ,except the FX-patches on the Zoom Pedals., its good to have some FX-Response coloring for the start. And I stick to an A-Minor scale, to keep things simple in the harmonic way. 3h live and improvised #dawless jam - 7 people and a bunch of synths. I am really glad that the video and audio recording worked out that long. Mostly we need approximately 1h to find our groove. There is someone with a flute and real singing involved and someone doing real percussions but sadly not visible with that camera angle.
We formed this combo 8 years ago - the Open Synth MIDI Orchestra - born from the wish to perform electronic music live. No tracks are prepared and everything is improvised. We started with 5 people back in the days, today were 5-8 people depending on who has the time to play a gig.

Experimenting with a new setup. Using the assignable outs of the Yamaha RS7000 send to two ZOOM MS50G and one Behringer Echo Machine, to get more flexibility for FX.
Created this Dub Techno Loop to jam around. One ZOOM MS50G puts some Flanger and Delay on some drum parts, the other one is for some FX dub chords (Amp Simulation, Modulation, Delay, Reverb etc.). The Behringer Echomachine is for pad sounds to get this nice tape whobbeling.
The BCR2000 is for controlling some basic parameters of the RS7K. Expression (MIDI CC 11) on Channel 1-16 and Cutoff (MIDI CC

Two Tracks (mostly pad-sounds) are routed to one auxiliary out (of the AIEB2 expansion board) to the Behringer Echo Machine and back in the RS7000. To get this sweet tape delay whoobles. :)
The Behringer BCR2000 MIDI controller is used to control the expression parameter (CC11) and the Cutoff (CC74) on every channel of the RS7000.

My setup: Volca Sample for Beats and additionla chords, Volca Keys for main chords and Volca Bass for the Bass. The Yamaha MT100 is for some 4-Track drones from cassette. Also a some FX units and Mixer where involved.
Eisermann got a Arturia Minibrute, a guitar an and iPad for FX stuff.
Played in the tiny village Kleistau in north of Germany on a little festival.

Experimental Sounds using a old tape recorder (with drone sounds) processed thru a Patchblock. The Patchblock adds a lowpass filter(left knob) and a Delay (right knob), with the patch the movement of the lowpass knob is recordable. This signal runs thru a Behringer Echo Machine for some tape delay simulation.
The Volca Keys playes one not with some live motion recordings.
The MP3 Player also got some drony string sounds + vocal sample. Its connected to the Monotron Delay. The Vocla Sample is from "The Shanghai Gesture" a 1941 movie.

I used the pan function of the Korg Volca Sample to get two seperated outputs, one with sample sounds and one with the drums. The Volca Keys is hooked to a Ammoon Pockrock - a small and cheap guitar effect.
The MIDI controller is used to control parameters of the Volca Sample and mostly track volumen. I used a Patchblock with MIDI in and out to do some MIDI mapping.

The MIDI controller is used to control the expression parameter (CC11) on every channel of the RS7000.

Heres a short description of the setup - any questions? Leave me a comment. A live jam mainly with a setup of a Korg Volca Sample, a Volca Bass and a Volca Keys.
Connected to a Behringer Xenyx 1002B Mixer for mixing and send/return effect with a Behringer Echo Machine (with a tape delay simulation).
I used the pan function of the Korg Volca Sample to get two seperated outputs, one with sample sounds and one with the drums. The sample output is connectad to a Nux Time Core for some delay.
The MIDI controller is used to control parameters of the Volca Sample and mostly track volumen. I used a Patchblock with MIDI in and out to do some MIDI mapping.

This is a live jam with a setup of a Korg Volca Beats, a Volca Bass, a Volca Sample and a Volca Keys. Bass, Keys and Volca Sample are connected to a Behringer Xenyx 1002B Mixer for mixing and send/return effects coming from a TC Electronic M300 multifffect unit (delay and reverb). The output of the Xenyx 1002B and of the Korg Volca Beats connected to Behringer DDM4000 Dj mixer. The DDM 4000 adds som delay on the master and used for some DJ EQ-ing.
I used the pan function of the Korg Volca Sample to get two seperated outputs, one with chord sounds and one with hihats and some percussions. I always need additonal hihats and a shaker :)
The MIDI controller is used to control paramters of the Volca Sample and the Volca Beats, mostly track volumen. I used a Patchblock with MIDI in and out to do some MIDI mapping, so for example one Knob of the MIDI controller can control track volumen of the SD, HT and LT at once.
To all this, a mp3 player with a drone sound is connected to another patchblock, this one is synced to the volcas and can record filter its movements.

Live played session using an Korg electribe sampler, a Korg Volca Beats and a Volca Keys. The electribe sampler is used to sequence the Volca Bass via MIDI. The Volca Beats is used for the drums and is synced via click to the electribe sampler, which also is running some drum loops. The electribe sample genrates some chords sounds. And there is a mp3-player using the audio-in of the electribe with the sample from the beginning and an endless pad sound.
All gears are connected to a Behringer DDM 4000 Mixer which ads some delay effects. And last but not least the Volca Beats runs thru a Nux Time Core Delay effect unit.
Also used a MIDI controller for part volumes of the the Korg Volca Sample and of the Korg electribe sampler.

First of all I recorded a click track on channel 4 of the cassette from the sync out of the Volca Beats. This click track is used to syncronize the Volcas with the tape in the further recording process. For this the direct out from cassette channel 4 of MT100II is connected to the sync in of the Volcas.
For the first take, I recorded some filtered drumsounds from the Volca Beats thru a Monotron Duo for filtering. And I recorded a Volca Keys with some chordy bass sounds. The Monotron Delay is used as a send effect. All is connected to the MT100 and is recorded on channel 3 of the cassette.
For the second take, I rewinded the tape and jammed to the first recording with almost the same setup. In this case I recorded the whole thing with a zoom handheld recorder.
The evolution midi controller on the bottom is for controlling the part levels of the Volca Beats via MIDI.

Video: https://youtu.be/355q9jozgO8 A live jam with the Korg Volca Series additionally used a Yamaha MT100 tape multitracker as some kind of pad synthesizer, there are endless loops of pad sounds on the 4 tracks of the cassette tape and I can control the amount of the sounds with the faders of the MT100. The Behringer BCR2000 is connected to the Korg Volca Beats via MIDI to control the volume of the drum parts. Everything is connected to a Behringer RX1204FX rack mixer, for Send FX using a TC Electronic M300 effect unit with an additional overdrive stomper to get some distorsion in the delays. And there is Behringer patchbay for a better connection :).

All hooked up to a Behringer RX1204FX rack mixer, for Send FX using a TC Electronic M300 effect unit with an additional overdrive stomper to get some distorted texture in the Dub delays.
Also used a BCR2000 MIDI controller for track fade-ins/outs of the RS7000 and controlling volumes of the Korg Volca Beats tracks.
The beats are done with the Korg Volca Beats with some additional hihats coming from the RS7000. On the Yamaha RS7000 there running some loop samples build with http://www.audiotool.com/ cause I needed some TB303 emulation, for the orchestra sound I sampled from https://musopen.org/, a very cool platform for license free orchestra recordings.
