When you write or speak with conviction, as if you really believe your argument, there is a high chance that your audience will believe you. It’s important to stand by your convictions, but it’s also important to remember that not everyone who speaks with conviction is actually speaking the absolute truth, especially if they have ulterior motives.

“Everybody has a motive. Think about what it is that they want out of the equation. Sometimes they want to educate you when they see something that you may not. But other times they’re trying to get views, they’re trying to grow their channel, they’re trying to sell something and make money on the back end. ”
“We assume, more often than not, that if someone is that sure about something, they have to at least be partially right. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be doing it.”
“Be skeptical, take a step back whenever you get advice from someone, whenever you see someone on Instagram or youtube who’s got a really strong opinion.”

“You can’t place all of your worth, all of your fulfillment, all of your success into that one thing and then ride that thing for the rest of your life. You can look back at it and recognize the things that it gave you, and appreciate and be grateful for all the opportunities that you had. But there's a point that comes in where you wonder what is the next thing? What is the next mountain? And that way you can find that fulfillment and that happiness as much as you got from that last career and the next career and the next mountain that you’re climbing.” - Kris Levy

Imagine the quintessential student: Straight A’s, AP classes, National Honor Society, never in trouble (except that one time she was falsely accused), varsity athlete, dedicated to meaningful service, and accepted to every college on her list.
This was Carrie. She was the girl who was going to learn no matter what. She fit the mold of school success and took it miles further. She didn’t settle for being mediocre. The system would have kept her in mediocrity, but she fought for and embraced every challenge she was given.
What would have happened to Carrie if she hadn’t fought? What would have happened if she didn’t have cheerleaders to support her fight?
In college, Carrie surprised herself at falling in love with teaching. She thought she’d go into family law or child psychology, but she became an accidental teacher. After reflecting on 10 years teaching in public, private, and nonpublic schools, Carrie realized she fell short of helping her students rise to success.
She was stuck answering to the rules and regulations of the system. Most students would be slotted in mediocrity or worse while she attended workshops, went to meetings, filled out paperwork and had little time and energy left for the actual act of teaching. The students who were like Carrie will fight their way to success, but what about those who need more support along the way?
Carrie won’t stand for a system that doesn’t serve its students. She is the personal cheerleader to help kiddos be their own stars, within or outside of the school system.

I am an actor, creative director and life coach with the passion for poetry and photography.
I was born in Vigevano in 1978. At the age of twenty I left Puglia and went to study at the School Of Cinema in Rome (Acting & Directing) and subsequently at The Actor Centre in London.
In July 2019 I have completed my accredited ICF diploma, in life coaching at the Animas Centre for Coaching in London.
I have travelled a lot with my work and I have had the pleasure of working with numerous directors such as Paul Feig in the movie Spy, produced by 20th Century Fox, Mandie Fletcher in the movie Patrick for Walt Disney UK, Jordan Scott and Peter Thwaites in the worldwide campaign for Martini & Rossi produced by Gorgeous film and RSA Film, Angelo Longoni in the movie "Tiberio Mitri - The champion and the miss", Luca Lucini in the movie "Just Married” and also with Alessandro D'Alatri on several campaigns for major brands such as Telecom, Dreher, TIM and Repubblica…
I love writing. I find it really therapeutic. My first book "My life on a cactus" a collection of 32 poems and a monologue for theatre, was published in 2008 by Casa editrice Giuseppe Laterza & figli.
My passion for theatre made me write and direct “I will not go down from here” an extract from my book, which won a Theatre Award In Naples at the Naples Cultural Classic (A monologue about suicide, which caught the attention of the newspapers).
My point of view as a director emerged from being on both sides of the camera and my passion for photography has developed alongside moving images.
In 2014 I relocated to London and joined Najma Bhatti at Four55 Ltd our Creative Agency, where my skills in writing and co-directing have created a great symbiosis.
Our latest success has been creating, directing and producing the opening show at the DIFF (Dubai Film Festival 2016) which won gold at the Muse Creative Awards. In advertising we have won Platinum at the Hermes Creative Awards with the TVC Bleu the Chanel written, directed and produced by us. Justin Aldridge is a highly sought after life and success coach. He specializes in helping high achievers who want to be, do, or have more in life get unstuck so that they can create the lives and businesses of their dreams. His mission is to help people tap into their authentic selves so that they can unleash their power to create what he calls an "UNCOMMON Life."
I’m just a regular dude, trying to live what I call an UNCOMMON Life. By day I am an educator, helping the leaders of tomorrow to discover and develop their gifts and talents. By night (and on weekends – just doesn’t sound nearly as superhero-ish ;-)), I work with rockstar entrepreneurs and professionals who want to be, do, or have more in life. Other titles I have are author, keynote speaker, and dad of the century (kidding… kinda). All of those roles come together into one mission, help as many people as I can live more purposeful, fulfilled lives regardless of what that looks like for them. I truly enjoy my life and absolutely love my work. It wasn’t always that way though…
The short version of the story is...
Born the youngest of five kids to a couple of high school dropouts.
Grew up poor with limiting beliefs and financial insecurities.
Life was defined by overachieving and under believing.
Graduated top of my class from UT Austin and played football for the Longhorns.
Chased money hoping to satisfy financial insecurities.
Suffered severe anxiety attack and suffered from symptoms for six months.
Went into depression and almost lost my marriage.
Became a father, and decided I wanted to live an UNCOMMON Life.
Currently coaching, speaking, and leading the UNCOMMON Life mission.

Lane Kawaoka Bio:
After 12 years as a Licensed Professional (PE) Civil/Industrial Engineer, I fired the boss and began to focus 100% of my time on my investing and helping others in my Passive Investor Accelerator & Mastermind.
I began investing in 2009 in rainy Seattle, being a ramen eating cheapo I was able to buy a property early right after college. After discovering the difference between ‘Cashflow Investing’ and ‘appreciation investing (gambling/speculating)’… I moved my portfolio into 11 single family rentals in Birmingham, Atlanta, Indianapolis, and Pennsylvania. Today, I am investing in syndications which invest in Class C & B Multi-Family Apartment, RV Parks, mobile homes, and assisted living facilities because of this Nation’s demand for affordable housing – not rich people Class-A assets. My mission is to help regular people into good deals that were once only accessible to the rich. The passive income from investing in stabilized rental properties made it possible for me to move back home to Hawaii where the cost of paradise is 10%+ cost of living and -30% less pay for comparable jobs in the US mainland. There I was able to live a lifestyle where I was able to bike to work. It did not take me long however to finally quit the day job and ditch the e-bike for a Mercedes.

On the first episode of Another Way to Play, your host, Hans Struzyna sits down with Jan Erion.
Jan grew up in the Seattle area where she attended the University of Washington and graduated with a degree in English Literature and two BFA degrees – in Painting and Surface Design. She was a full time studio artist for 25 years, and has two grown children and a two-year old Granddaughter.
She built four houses of her own in the Northwest. She also pursued real estate investing as a hobby, while working as a full-time studio artist, selling paintings through galleries and doing art commission work.
Jan moved to Alameda California ten years ago, and needed a job—so she got a real estate license, and then a broker’s license. She had never been in sales, so this was a big career turn for her. She is now proud to be a part of the prestigious Gunderman Group with Golden Gate Sotheby’s Realty in the East Bay. She just finished renovating an 1885 Victorian in Alameda and has relegated creating art work to being a large hobby.
