The Nick Margerrison podcast.
Former Kerrang! Radio & LBC presenter Nick Margerrison's fortnightly podcast is a continuation of his often eclectic radio career.
Building on the legacy of the critically acclaimed first series "The Cult Of Nick" this podcast looks at how topics which were explored back then are now considered to be the bare bones of what is frequently termed 'the intellectual dark web'.
A proud Discordian Nick's take is always sincere but never too serious.

It'll be a once a fortnight affair this time. We've got some stuff in the can which I'm going to use along with a few new bits we'll make along the way. I got sick during COVID, not of actual COVID but of the way the discussions were going. My answer to it all was the breatharian guy. Notice that didn't get a health warning!? Wow. He was telling people to stare into the sun and only eat fast food. I mean, enough said.

This piece is an interview with Brendon Dey of the Breatharian Institute of America, an organisation founded upon the teachings of Wiley Brooks. A man who became notable after being featured on television in America. A moment our guest Brendon Dey will never forget...
This podcast is not to be considered as health advice; it's an interview with a fascinating man who represents his belief system with refreshing honesty. This piece is a real treat for Discordians looking for a fresh and unusual reality tunnel to try for a few days, without following any of the implied advice.
In many ways this podcast is intended as a satire on the notion that podcasts should be ever be censored on the grounds that people may follow the advice on them. They shouldn't. Podcast listeners are not idiots, this medium is not - and never should be - the new "radio" or "broadcast" media. It's able to do that but it can do so much more...

The incredible music we use in the background is by the following artists, who flatter the Cult Of Nick by saying they are occasional listeners as well...
Complexi-Tales: https://complexi-tales.bandcamp.com/
Mike Richmond: https://mikerichmond.bandcamp.com/
Crednes Codpiece: https://sound4good.bandcamp.com/track/saturnalia
Our guest shares these final words:
Hi Nick,
I wanted to add a couple of details in case you or any of your listeners would care to know. Wiley also told me, as it related to the young women that he saw in the pornography industry, that he would have no interest in being on this planet with all of us at all, doing the things that he did, if he didn't get the joy of looking at these young women's bodies which he considered to be
Perfect đ€Ł ...
And who can blame him?
So even though he hadn't had an erection in at least 10 years, he was motivated by the energy of seeing young beautiful women, until the end of his time in the body, on Earth. I thought that I should add this so you could relate maybe on a deeper level, to his position.
He made it very clear that he never masturbated, but used the energy that he felt from looking at the women, to produce the feelings of Love and Joy within his body. This is what he considered to be the ultimate highest calling of all humans: to produce Joy (hormones) in our bodies.
Cheers!

Let's see if we here at the mighty Cult Of Nick can make it a hit, whatever that means these days...
This podcast sees us take a look at "non-crimes" and the chilling effect the British police are having as they go online and record social media posts which they've been told might be offensive or maybe upsetting.
We get into the subject of transgenderism and the difficulties that arise when the long arm of the law is ready to correct your posts with a metaphorical red pen and the threat of more to come.
Our guest - Sarah Phillimore - is a barrister (lawyer) and specialist in family law. She has been drawn into serious legal action after being harassed by the police and their sinister covert accusations of "non-crimes".
23 minutes after this piece was edited, as I was wondering if it was ok to release, this news story emerged:
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/dec/01/children-who-want-puberty-blockers-must-understand-effects-high-court-rules
"Children under the age of 16 considering gender reassignment are unlikely to be mature enough to give informed consent to be prescribed puberty-blocking drugs, the high court has ruled."
History is a strange beast, perhaps "the right side of it" doesn't actually involve telling children there's something wrong with their bodies so it's time to pump them full of drugs?

The mask debate, confused, I am, thoughts?
As it wears on I've found my opinion has bounced around. There are a number of factors rubbing up against each other. Let's kick off with the most controversial:
"Bill Gates: I met with Jeffrey Epstein because âhe knows a lot of rich peopleâ":
https://www.cnbc.com/2019/09/10/bill-gates-met-with-jeffrey-epstein-to-connect-with-rich-people.html
"Bill Gates Met With Jeffrey Epstein Many Times, Despite His Past"
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/12/business/jeffrey-epstein-bill-gates.html
To me the above is quite an incredible news story. It proves nothing beyond what is written above but it's weird isn't it? They're all part of a network of people who are happy to chill with a guy who sells kids because money and because power.

The video we link to is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjJeQSfFhj8 - it's the start of a huge rabbit hole for any new listeners we may have picked up while the podcast was away... a rabbit hole you were likely down already if you've found this podcast.
There's a nice trailer for this podcast which comes up around 32 minutes in, I put out a teaser for it here on Twitter: https://twitter.com/NickMargerrison/status/1305559016786079744
Just writing this as I listen back, I'm really conflicted about it, I think that's a good thing. The guest is a perfect example, I don't agree with some of his sense of humor but there's real value in this conversation.
I've joked online that I'm trying to entirely re-invent the medium of podcast with this little thing we're doing here... one of the things I'm super keen on is that we nail interactivity.
I always dug stuff where there were nice hidden extras for people who put a bit of extra effort in. Writing a mini-essay here seems like a good example.
One human to another; what do you make of what's going on right now in the world? We're going to do some callers again soon, want to be one of them? Either record something and post it somewhere, I'll rip the audio and include some of it on the podcast with a link, or contact me and we'll try set up a quick skype call or something.
The cool thing about what we've got here is there's a bunch of people who have all fixed onto an algorithm of some kind. You, by virtue of the fact you're reading this, are part of that. Let's hear what we've all got to say... www.twitter.com/nickmargerrison
We're an interesting tribe. Hip to a lot of stories that are now mainstream news, fortified with a philosophy that challenges tyranny at its root with the word "maybe", interested in magic and the hidden nature of reality, open to new ideas yet keen to be able to criticise them.
Speaking of which, here's the link to the video where Chris Morris discusses the reality of faked terror attacks on Channel 4 news: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liV5wKAihh8
This is the Peterson video someone sent me, I don't think I watched it all but interesting point even so:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBu6xI1iUM0&t=190s
Finally, during the podcast hiatus I've been mucking about at open mic nights. That's what's happening at the end. Me and a buddy of mine are bashing out a song we wrote, recorded it on a mobile phone. It's called "Black Cat" and it's about the oncoming apocalypse. Neither of us are "true believers" in that sort of thing but right after we performed our first paid gig: COVID 19 and the global pandemic struck!
So, y'know, in magical (fictional) terms maybe we helped kick off the long promised "awakening" that New Agers go on about? If so, Hail Eris! All Hail Discordia!
The internet's least sinister cult returns after a break from service, in which time the world appears to have gone completely mad.
This piece sees Nicholarse musing over the concept of a radio show in a time when the long predicted #CensorshipAgenda has finally come to pass. Media is, if anything, a performance art and it's in this vein that we (me and you) try to answer the question - what is going on?
The results are, in hindsight, predictable.

Two creative entities on this podcast, firstly we've got the affable Gareth Icke - his music features on the podcast and it's great. I've watched his career blossom over the years through the social media web that we weave around ourselves. Since recording this interview he has said he's going to be entering the world of podcasting - excellent news. It'll be interesting to see how his political discussions develop but it'd be a crying shame if he neglected his music. Go see his website here: http://garethicke.com/
Also on the podcast we have Gareth Evans, his work "The Box Society" is interesting. We discuss his book and more widely we get into a conversation about the occult and mental health. If you like the sound of him why not go here and have a look: https://www.amazon.co.uk/BOX-SOCIETY-G-D-Evans/dp/1983007331
There follows an audio collage about Brexit, which sounds better than it looks when I write it out as a sentence.

Hail Eris, All Hail Discordia.
This podcast sees debut interviews from two excellent guests. Firstly the writer of "Media Monster" OMJ Ryan joins us, his website is here: https://www.omjryan.com/
His book gets a good plug on the podcast and it's easily worth a few of your shekels. Both entertaining and interesting, I read the whole thing in about a week.
Also on the podcast we have another fiction writer, Summer Heacock. Her website is here - www.fizzygrrl.com - and her excellent twitter feed is here: https://twitter.com/Fizzygrrl
Then, towards the end of the podcast, where we traditionally go for a bit of a ramble I mention a bunch of stuff which originally I had loads more to say about... only to accidentally delete the audio I was working on. Hey ho.
The bare bones were -
Blair White says right wing YouTubers are faking resistance to their work:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7Ft2E_ibxQ
And Grievance Studies lances the puss filled boil of left wing academia:
https://spectator.us/2018/10/grievance-studies/
And the potted version of what I was going to say was; 'if you spend your time trying to shut people up you are generally helping their cause'. So, who needs a big long hour of audio to say that eh? We're fine. All bases covered. Some of them belong to us.
I've interviewed David Shayler a number of times over the years, this conversation works as an introduction to him and, in my opinion, is one of our best discussions to date. He tweets here: www.twitter.com/Gods_Spy
The Psychedelic Detective Agency's podcast continues to go from strength to strength, this conversation gives you an idea of what they're like. Imagine it without me interrupting them and spouting nonsense all the time and you're on the right track. The excerpt from The Cult of Nick comes from the "Magnum Opus" sessions, the first of which is here:
Lucy Brown, the former camera woman for Tommy Robinson joins us to explain what has happened since her last interview. In short, she's been attacked in the street multiple times, organised a huge protest in favour of free speech and left the employment of the EDL founder. Her website is here: www.lucybrown.info and she tweets here: www.twitter.com/lucyfrown
"The right to openly discuss ideas must be defended" footage is here.
The Rotherham report is here: DOWNLOAD IT AND READ IT
Lucy's piece on the subject of Tommy Robinson and the subsequent mass protests which have been seen in major cities up and down the UK is here.
The end bit where I bang on about free speech and boats is taken from the impenetrable earlier podcast, The Cult of Nick, which preceeds this one. It's one of the most difficult episodes to listen to but weirdly it's had 1,000's of downloads - MAGNUM OPUS II
As if to perfectly demonstrate why I hate covering news in the podcast medium this was recorded before Tommy Robinson, the former EDL leader, now citizen journalist and activist, was jailed for breeching the terms of his suspended sentence. There's potentially a whole other podcast in that topic, maybe another time, it depends. My thoughts haven't really shifted from the position you'll find them at in this little sound collage. As always I'm open to thoughts on twitter: https://twitter.com/NickMargerrison

Share the podcast far and wide. We're getting an impressive level of downloads since my return to podcasting, all jolly good fun. Thanks for the support so far!
This episode features a new interview with the journalist and proficient twitter user Nick Monroe @NickMon1112 we cover the rise of censorship in the UK and its recent worrying increase. A genuinely draconian power emerging in our midst, or just a straightforward battle between good people and those who want to say mean things? Would genuinely appreciate feedback on this one. The podcast which interviewed me is excellent, follow it: https://twitter.com/MTCPODCAST
The end is a clip from an earlier episode, 101 in the back catalogue. Go search it out.
This week we return to a major theme; free speech.
Joining us we have Lucy Brown, who tweets as @LucyFrown on twitter. She gives us her point of view on the so-called "new right". A movement which involves younger people taking on perspectives which are traditionally seen as the preserve of dusty old folk.
We also have John O'Connell, representing the twitter account and website @Far_Right_Watch he puts forward his view on "hate speech" and explains a position which we've discussed critically in the past on the podcast.
Finally we have an old interview with Peter Hitchens, who tweets as @ClarkeMicah and is probably one of the most amusing accounts on that social media site, largely because he spends all his time arguing with randoms.
Thanks for all the nice words about last fortnight's effort. We've got quite an audience cooking here, I didn't expect it to take off quite so quickly. Do keep spreading the word. We'll have another one in a couple of weeks, assuming the Goddess is kind in her chaos.
The podcast returns - with a new name, some new noises and plans to take over the world.
Today's offering features interviews which have been kept in cold storage for some time, one on the subject of hypnosis (Tom Fortes-Mayer) and the other on the subject of censorship (Emory Andrew Tate III).
Cult members are asked for ideas regarding some of the older content, what should we showcase to the new tsunami of listeners we're about to encounter? Also - who would we like to hear on the podcast, who might we convince to enter our lair?
Nick's twitter is the point of contact: www.twitter.com/nickmargerrison - send ideas and thoughts.
Fresh from the excitement of Festival 23 the world's favourite least sinister cult on the internet dives right into an impenetrable chat about magic and Eris. Also we have Twitchy Spleen from the now legendary band GIBLET and clips from their awesome work "Holding The Egg'. Smear the podcast all over the internet like some sort of smelly steaming truth nugget. We're recruiting new members at the moment, having an actual audience for this is turning into fun. And don't forget to congratulate our excellent guests via their social media: @dleeahp - Dave Lee. @twitchey_spleen - Twitchy Spleen of GIBLET NM
Our guest this time round is described on her website thus: "Dr Penny Sartori worked as a nurse in a British hospital for 21 years, 17 of those being in Intensive Care. She is highly experienced and skilled in her role as an intensive care staff nurse; and has conducted unique and extensive research into the near-death experiences (NDEs) of her patients. In 2005 she was awarded a PhD for her research into NDEs. Dr Sartoriâs work has received worldwide attention and media coverage. She has spoken at many conferences both nationally and internationally and her work has received the attention of HRH Prince Charles." I'm sure you'll agree, she was a great speaker. Her book is well worth a look, it works as a beginner's guide but then goes quite in depth. A little like this chat... Post your thoughts in the comments section of www.margerrisons.blogspot.com or tweet me on @nickmargerrison You can find Dr Sartori on @DRPENNYSARTORI Do share this particular episode far and wide. An excellent chat about telepathy. Worth looking down the time line of this podcast for the episode where I speak with Dr Sheldrake on this topic if you're new to the show. Dr Powell's website is here: http://dianehennacypowell.com/ Astounding work from The Cult's listeners in pushing the audience up. Our downloads are at a nice healthy 5,000 per episode. Keep recruiting new members, post it up on forums and websites around the globe. The article I mention is here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3305206/Five-year-old-savant-LA-displays-signs-telepathic-learning-seven-languages-studied-scientists-mother-filmed-reciting-numbers-written-secret.html The excellent music you can hear is here: https://twitter.com/eldflaug Also I will be doing a talk at Festival 23 http://festival23.org.uk/ Go see - get tickets and say hello!
Long term Cult listeners will be aware of my obsession with the idea of free speech around the turn of 2013-2014. I loved Claire's book "I find that offensive", the focus of this interview. Please spread the word that the podcast has returned! Invite a mate to join the internet's least sinister cult of Discord! Here's Claire's bio: Claire Fox is the director of the Institute of Ideas, which she established to create a public space where ideas can be contested without constraint. She has a particular interest in education and social issues such as crime and mental health. Claire is a panellist on BBC Radio 4âs The Moral Maze and is regularly invited to comment on developments in culture, education and the media on TV and radio programmes such as Question Time and Any Questions? She is also a columnist for TES (Times Education Supplement) and MJ (Municipal Journal). Claire is an Executive Board member of the Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction (IRDR), UCL, and a Fellow of Wellington College....
The Cult Of Nick relaunches with an awesome interview featuring Ashley Mortimer of The Doreen Valiente Foundation.
There's a few words at the end about cult founder Mr Margerrison's bumbling from one talk station to another, which put the podcast on a slight hiatus for a while.
In that period, weirdly, the audience has grown some more, looking at approximately 5,000 listeners (per podcast) these days.
The Discordian tribe is expanding!

The podcast has almost "pod faded" in recent times. This is ironic because I am working on a project which will be focused on podcasting. Stick with me, cult member, the dawn broke a few months ago and a glorious podcasting sunrise is on its way.

I continue my pagan mumblings, as this was recorded during my pagan week. That's over now. For those not following this thread I'm currently trying out new beliefs and this week I've realised the truth is in The Lord Jesus Christ, in a Gnostic context. It's much trickier to pull off monotheism. It's so antithetical to me. Or it was. Managed to say my prayers a bit last night. Do Gnostic Christians do that? My only real guide to their beliefs is a book by Philip K Dick.
Here's the famous Independent story about how there's going to be no more snow thanks to 'global warming'.
Scottie McClue, the man, the myth, the legend. Scottie's work was early inspiration for me. He seems explicitly Discordian, although this thought only occured as I began to write this little piece for the podcast.

Historia Discordia is the title of Adam Gorightly's latest work. It's a great book. Stuffed full of documents which reveal the true (and not so true) history of the religion about which I am sincere but not so serious, Discordianism.

The centre piece for this podcast is last week's interview with Caroline Martin, the BBC journalist who interviewed me on the topic of conspiracy theories. She tweets here: https://twitter.com/cazzatalkmartin Her bigoraphy is very interesting and perhaps explains her unusual (by BBC standards) enquiring mind.
I get requests reasonably frequently for things like that and intend to do as many as possible over the next few months. In the event you're one of the many cult members who work in the so-called mainstream media and you'd like to book me to do somethink for your show do get in touch. Michael Bisping was a good friend of the old Kerrang Show. It's odd to me that "The Night Before" seems to have anticipated many aspects of the subculture this podcast now serves. As I mention in the podcast I've suddenly become very busy. This is because I am now producing The Jon Gaunt Show on FUBAR Radio. His style is abrasive and his politics are "right wing". I don't agree with everything he says...
Given that it's my religion, Discordianism is a constant theme on The C.O.N.
Recently I went along to an event in Liverpool, which I blogged about here: http://disinfo.com/2014/02/092-cult-nick-gunnar-hansen-pulling-cosmic-trigger/
The host of the event was, Daisy Eris Campbell, also a Discordian. She features on this week's podcast with her story.
She's putting together a stage adaption of one of my favourite books of all time, Cosmic Trigger. What I've seen so far was nothing short of spectacular. I feel as excited as I did when I went to see the original Judge Dredd film. However I expect to enjoy it as much as I did the recent re-boot* while experiencing non of the dissapointment which came from Stallone's half arsed cock up.

Overwhelmed by the donations! This was a tricky podcast to record. I kept feeling all excited and nervous about the fact people have stepped up to the plate and popped money in the tin.

Trevor Homer is the first guest, he hated the fact I put him on the spot like that I think but went with it anyway. It's one of my favourite interviews because of the quality of his answers combined with the uncomfortable atmosphere as the poor guy has to live up to a claim I invented, namely that he knows how everything started. Part two of the summary of 2013's blog entries. I'm genuinely amazed at how consistent my political philosophy appears to be. There's bound to be holes in it somewhere, if you spot any be sure to point them out. It's an ideology that has been forged in the heat of argumentative phone in shows over about a decade.

Never before put out in this form the interview here with David Wilcock needed to be edited to cut it on the show, which was quite fast paced compared to this podcast. I love the idea that meditating and sending good vibes out would fix stuff. I really do.
The other interview is with Simon LeVay. Again, never aired in this form. I think they sound better longer but it is the nature of radio, you have to cut stuff because that way more people will listen. Narrows your message. With the internet you can speak in multiple formats and only irritate people who can easily ignore you. The conseqeunce of this is you end up projecting a multiple medium message. And stuff...
I'm in a waffling mood.
Hope you dig this podcast.

The Law of Projection is a source of amazement to the people who discover it. You're hearing it on a little culty podcast. I wonder if anyone's new to this one and will have the intended "wow" moment when they get into the idea? There's no way of knowing. I've spent the night watching coverage of the Million Mask March. What, what coverage? It was ignored by the media pretty much. Yeah, but it was on twitter and a video link. Doesn't matter if they ignore us now. The mainstream media only ignores such things at the risk of being ignored.
I kind of feel like this podcast should have more of the revolutionary stuff in it but it doesn't. Check out this podcast's timeline if you're looking for that. I notice a few of my pieces were being shared last night as I watched people fan out over London, with their Guy Fawkes masks on. Cult members are realising how well placed they are to handle these debates from the look of my twitter feed at the moment.
Russell Brand has made a bit of a name for himself by advocating revolution. Seems like precisely the sort of thing we've been talking about for the last year or so, I'm sure that's just a co-incidence.

Looks like I'm going to be adding a donate button to the podcast. I put a hundred quid in there for hosting costs at the start of all this thinking it'd last me ages, it has, more than a year! I reckon if half the audience pops a quid in we're cool for another year or more, happy days.
This podcast is recorded in a slightly odd way, my spoken bits were done in total ignorance of the interview I was going to pick from the archives. Listening to it I think we picked a good match, Michael Roll from The Campaign For Philosophical Freedom. If enough people agree I might contact him and see how the search for a psychic went.

I mention an idea which I'm currently trying to digest in this podcast, I'd hugely appreciate thoughts on it from fellow CON members. It's "the oversoul" idea. The god mind, the secret doctrine, this notion that there's a form of biological internet that envelopes the earth and provides ideas to people. I don't see why people believe in it, at all. If you do try and explain why in a comment on this blog www.thecultofnick.co.uk

This interview is from the Kerrang archives. It caused a huge controversey at the time because it was offensive to people who claimed to be party of Anonymous group. It's not an overly critical interview but, if you're familiar with my style, it's not unusual particularly for me to let guests speak for themselves.

Rodney Orpheus is a great guest. In my opinion the guy has his pitch just right. A rock and roll star by day and a master occultist by night. What more could you want?
This interview is unique to the podcast and was conducted last week.
I've interviewed him previously, as becomes clear, but I think this is the first time I really manage to tie him down to some of the specifics of what it is The OTO is about. The book he's written is excellent, The Grimoire of Aleister Crowley, but I suggest if you're new to this stuff you start with his first book: Abrahadabra.
Originally I was kicking an old interview of his around then it occured to me that as we're still in reasonably regular contact it'd be odd for me not to buzz him on the phone and set up a little chat.

Without doubt Stewart Lee cut a heroic figure in my life for a certain period. He was obviously brilliant yet had been totally abandoned by the mainstream for no clear reason. It fascinated me that someone who was so obviously a genius in his field was playing small rooms and doing wilfully odd things at gigs.
This interview was done just before he hit the bigtime for a second time. It's an interesting little period piece in that sense. However, it's very much a fan interview so I suggest you go watch some of his stuff on YouTube first.

This interview with "Prophet Yaweh" is marked with an "explicit" rating. It's potentially VERY offensive. The point of it is to suggest that you can and do create your own reality by projecting your intent outwards. If your intent is to call down a UFO or ET or Demon, you'd be surprised at the apparent results. I don't suggest you call one, I do think the 50p experiment in the previous podcast might be a better idea.

Recently David Icke was "confronted" by Jessie Ventura on his TV show. The two men left each other with a bitter taste in their mouths and it makes for irritating viewing. This is the conversation Ventura could have had with Icke about The Lizards if he'd been genuinely interested.
I've mentioned previously that opponents of "The New World Order" are frequently mystically inspired. Icke is no different to Alex Jones in this respect.

The implications of Rupert Sheldrake's work for occultists are obvious. The implications his ideas might have on science in the long term are huge. That he's not currently accepted as the orthodoxy is an irrelevance. The older you get the more you notice that science shifts in its opinions just as people do. This is partly why I drop in my little essay at the end. Paradigms and ways of thinking are not written onto stone tablets anymore.

This week's podcast features a full unedited inteview from the archives with Glen Carter, the UK President of The Raelian movement. It begins with a quick rundown of my top five small scale religious movements, or "cults".
For me the distinction between a cult and a religion is nothing more than a numbers game. Furthermore I think there's a sense of perspective you can get on religion by looking at the activities of smaller groups who have a much harder time maintaining their reality tunnels in the face of a society which is, in the main, indifferent to their existence.

*In the event I find the un-edited version of this I'll whack it up straight away. Little annoying that this has a few early edits on it.
On this podcast we're looking back into the archives and listening to a classic couple of interviews from Patrick Heron. He's one of my favourite esoteric writers. An entertaining listen and a good insight into the roots of conspiracy theory culture, the majority of which comes from The Bible.
What also interests me about his angle is that this take on things is, roughly speaking, the kind of perspective people like George Bush and other Christians who operate at the peak of the political world use.
www.twitter.com/nickmargerrison
I've been a fan of Alex Jones for as long as I can remember. The interview here makes that obvious. What's interesting is that I push him to speak about his religious beliefs as I believe that is crucial to understanding how his mindset works.
Many of the people who oppose the big brother state and further extensions of Government and bureaucratic power do so because they're coming from a spiritual perspective. Most arguments in favour of it see ideas such as ID chips, anti-terror laws and CCTV cameras as simply being "rational" solutions to many of the problems in our world. It is therefore interesting to note the "irrational" mindset of some of their fiercest critics.
I do not use the word "irrational" as a term of abuse here. I believe people are fundementally irrational. From a purely rational point of view there's no beauty in a flower and love is just a chemical reation in your brain. Rationalism...
In 1994 Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty took a million pounds to a deserted boathouse on the island of Jura and burnt it. The writer JMR Higgs looked at this event from a magickal perspective and came up with some interesting results. The story involves the world's first joke religion, the JFK assasination, Robert Anton Wilson, Alan Moore and a bunch of ideas collectively known as "Chaos Magick".
This week is an entirely new interview, the previous lot have all been unedited bits from the Nick Margerrison archives.
If you're interested in "sigils" which we get to talking about right at the end of the interview go to the Disinfo.com website where I've written some short essays on the topic. Once there you're looking for "Essays for the Discordian Occultist".

A "true" story of Jesus this week. It's based upon the book "The Masks Of Christ" and is another piece taken from the archives. Lynn and Clive featured on my TV show "Esoteria" a year or so after this interview. This is one of my personal favourites. The book had a big impact on me. It freaks me out to actually think that Jesus was a real person. He looked up at the same sun and moon we do. Quite interesting to think of him like that as opposed to the contrasting myths we get in the books of the bible.

It's early days cult members, I'm still learning this new form but I think I'm starting to get an idea of how cool it could be.
This week's offering to The Cult Of Nick features two interviews with Alan Moore. Both were recorded on the same day but intended to be broadcast seperately.
The first is about comic books and the occult, the second is about the reasons why Mr Moore hates film conversions of his work. If I'm being honest here the stuff where we get into occultism involves me feigning ignorance a little. I'd gotten into it by now and was already telling people I was a Discordian High Priest [1]. However, it seemed like a better idea to step back and let a real expert do the talking.
If this podcast is too long do message me about it on twitter: @nickmargerrison
Next week I'm going to do entirely original content, as an experiment. Regardless of if we lose half our audience or double it as a result it'll be back to the archive the week after as I've got lots of bits and bobs I wanna stick up here.
Thanks as always for downloading.

Two interviews with Kevin Warwick. He doesn't call himself a "transhumanist" but that's the term you need to google really. This podcast deals mainly with the notion that people are on the verge of being able to fuse themselves with kinetic technologies. David Icke talks us through his âawakeningâ. He goes from being a TV sports personality to the worldâs most listened to conspiracy theorist. This interview was first broadcast on Kerrang Radio in an edited form around 2007. Ickeâs work is nowadays appreciated by various musicians such as Matt Bellamy, Noel Gallagher and Robbie Williams. The comedian Russell Brand had him on Radio 2 not long after this interview. Icke recently spoke to an audience of thousands for over 11 hours at Wembley Arena.
Itâs one of my favourites.

It's also the first proper full length episode of the podcast. Annoyingly I had to move from Audioboo to here. Not to worry, the Cult of Nick is only small at present, I'm sure everyone will find their way here in the end.
I have no idea where this writing will end up ... if you enjoy the podcast write to me on twitter: @nickmargerrison
