As always when I'm in Los Angeles I religiously listen to Power 106 on the radio when I'm in the car since to me it delivers the perfect soundtrack to this city. So for my own memory I did this mix with the tracks that were played the most during my recent trip in March 2024.
This mix is heavily influenced by DJ Dummy's 1997 RnB masterpiece "Seduction" - a mixtape that was on heavy rotation in my walkman back in the days. I added some early 2000s tracks for a luxurious blend of slow burning belters. So grab a bottle of red and enjoy with your significant other...
This mix represents the music I play at "Groove Jet" - my monthly residency at the gorgeous NZZ am Bellevue. Now get on board, grab a drink and dance...no seat belts needed!
I did this Mix back in 2019 after three weeks under the Cali sun! Since being in L.A. primarily means being stuck in traffic I had plenty of time to listen to Power 106 on the radio. The tracks in this mix where in heavy rotation at that time and will always remind me of my favorite city!
Last summer I had the pleasure to visit a small island in the aegean sea where I spent most of my time in a beautiful beach club. There they played a selection of perfectly crafted edits of 80s classics during the afternoon hours before transitioning into more electronic grooves towards sunset... This surprising selection suited perfectly for the lazy hours between the first glass of rosé and the gin-tonics later on and inspired me to do this mix. So sit back, relax and remind yourself that the next summer is coming soon(ish)...
