The bonus show kicks off this week with discussion of Joel Embiid, who reportedly lost 25-30 pounds over the summer. Listeners want to know if Rob likes his big men lean or muscular, and Rob feels like Embiid was heavy and needed to lose it. We also saw the official retirement of Derrick Rose this week, which spawns a conversation about guys we thought were going to be the next big thing and just never got there – and SO many great names come up. And with the passing of Pete Rose, as Jenners had several bad encounters with him, we ask about celebrities we had bad run-ins with. Woj also retired from ESPN this week and we want to know who Rob thinks should replace him, and if he ever worked with Woj in his time at ESPN. The Chicago White Sox finished the season with the worst record in MLB history and we discuss teams that are just hard to root for, including the Browns, Kings and especially the Clippers. And now that we are officially in October we see who on the show is a Halloween guy.
We are back from a week off which we forgot to tell the audience about! Blame that one on Jenners who took his kid to Universal Studios, and we learned that Rob is terrified of roller coasters. Rob also updates us on his family in the Carolinas after dealing with all the flooding from Hurricane Helene, and thankfully they are all okay. Plus Rob landed himself in the news this week by saying he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, which leads us into a conversation about Pete Rose and whether MLB should lift his ban now that he’s passed on. That also brings us into the conversation about the loss of Dikembe Mutombo, one of the most iconic big men to ever play the game and an amazing ambassador for the NBA across the globe. And we have a ton of stuff to talk about on the heels of NBA Media Day, first and foremost being Draymond Green. Harper salutes him for refusing to take any accountability for suspensions and time missed, while Jenners really just wants SOME kind of accountability from him after everything he’s been through. Respect to the Milwaukee reporter who asked Dame about Gorilla shooting her shot as Rob jokes about how much fun Media Days can be. And the Knicks did a lot of squirming behind the mics because they couldn’t talk about the Karl Anthony-Towns trade, as Rob thinks Milwaukee made a HUGE mistake letting him go! Paul Pierce said this week that the Knicks won’t win a championship in his lifetime, and Rob is hesitant to agree, and the audio of Tom Brady cooking Baker Mayfield reminded us of Kobe Bryant. Georgia vs Alabama breaks into the show, which leads us to a funny Big Shot of the Week, and we close it out with another fun round of Bet On Yourself.

Rob opens the show this week live from Manila in the Philippines, as he is traveling for another NBA event and repping American hoops overseas. And Harper comes in on a high after the Falcons beat the Eagles in Philadelphia on Monday night! We also jump into Steve Kerr’s comments about how much Boston fans are going to come for him this season after the Jayson Tatum drama at the Olympics, and Rob feels like opposing players will feed off that energy more than the home team so they can shut them up. That also gets into the story about Derrick White getting into a fight at the Colorado-Colorado State game this past weekend. And speaking of coaches, Kerr came in at #2 on the CBS Sports list of best NBA coaches, with Spoelstra coming in at #1, and JJ Redick finishing dead last – with Rob feels is justified because he has ZERO coaching experience. Rob had a rough experience at a rental place with some dated furniture and no A/C, which got us all thinking about the things that remind us of our childhoods… everything from cars with no seatbelts to plastic on the furniture! It’s a weird start to the show this week as everyone seems to be having some sort of insurance issue – which goes to prove that anyone from radio guys to former NBA stars, all have to deal with the same tiny issues in life. Of course we need to know if Rob thinks the Clippers stabbed Paul George in the back, as his father claimed this week… and Rob says NO it’s always just business, but the Clippers definitely screwed up this situation! And with our friends from Draft Kings coming back to the show this week, Rob gets in deep with his fantasy football competition this year and how he’s approaching it. Plus the news about the Philadelphia 76ers saying they are “seriously considering” moving to New Jersey is just a negotiation ploy to put some pressure on the city of Philadelphia to get a new stadium deal done. And with Steph signing his monster one-year extension, Rob says it sets him up for the end of his career in Golden State. We open the bonus show by gauging Rob’s excitement and trepidation as the Crimson Tide kick off their first college football season without Nick Saban in a long time, and Rob is remaining optimistic about their playoff chances. We get all the recaps of Rob’s escapades, before we dive into the insane rumor of the week, that the Lakers are already angling for a way to get Luka Doncic after LeBron hangs it up. And Rob and B-Dog both agree that this will never happen. Plus we get into the drama surrounding Anthony Edwards after he said Jordan was the only guy “back in the day” who had any skill, as Magic Johnson responded live on stage, and Rob says it’s the ignorance of youth who never got to see those guys play. Donovan Mitchell said this week that Stephen A's critique of his game is what motivated him, and Rob had a similar encounter with the legend Dick Vitale. And was Rob ever as unqualified as the Olympic break dancer that went super viral this week? He says his first times on TV were the only times he felt uneasy about doing something in sports. We open a huge show this week with Rob having missed all the closing ceremonies, the idea of renting his house out for the Olympics in LA, and how he was taunting us from the front row of a Dodgers game last week. And of course we get into a huge breakdown of Team uSA, who won the gold but not without a lot of drama. Rob sounds off on the leaded audio of LeBron calling out Steve Kerr in the locker room, and agrees that on both the men’s team and women’s team there was a lot of bias from coaches who were playing the players they know. And Rob challenges the idea that only NBA coaches should be coaching Team USA, but if it has to be an NBA coach then it should be someone who doesn’t have any of their own players on the team. Recapping the gold medal game was easy, as we just relive Steph’s amazing daggers against France to bring it home. And amongst all that drama, B-Dog feels like LeBron is still the leader of that team… but Rob says it isn’t enough to be a leader on the floor, it has to count in the locker room too. But it didn’t mean much to Steve Kerr, who was anxious to throw flowers at the GOAT’s feet, even though LeBron was undermining him to the entire team. And we put the wraps on the Olympics by debating who the next group of guys are to pick up the mantle of Team USA. In NBA news, the Christmas Day games were announced – some great, some just okay – and how the NFL is coming for the NBA’s Christmas Day tradition. Giannis feels some sort of way about the Christmas schedule, as the Bucks weren’t included, and Rob is really in “show me” mode with that team now because they are always hurt. Plus Noah Lyles had a week, after he won the gold, then got Covid, then went clubbing, and finally having an article drop about how disrespected he felt to be invited to Anthony Edwards Adidas event. That even spurred the Cheetah, Tyreek Hill, who went from wanting to support him, to wanting to race him and beat him. Preseason football brings us the new kickoff rule, and with the Carolina Panthers plane sliding off the runway, Rob recounts a college plane flight where they all thought they were going to die. Finally the Big Shot of the Week to Magic guard Cole Anthony for giving back to his community, and very funny and odd round of a new game called Bet On Yourself.

We have lots more Team USA Basketball to talk about as we roll into the final week of Olympic play, and Rob is getting tired of Steve Kerr manipulating the starting line-up so much. He feels like you should be able to fine tune your best line-up and go dominate teams and show them you aren’t scared of match-ups. And when you have guys who are respectively the best players on their teams, they need to learn to check their ego and roll with the game plan so we can bring home gold for the USA. We also talk about just how close that 100M men’s race really was, Rob’s thoughts on Devin Booker saying that winning Olympic Gold is easier than winning an NBA title, and how beautiful the new Kobe and Gianna statue is in the pictures and how it hit us personally. Plus Rob sounds off on Draymond Green dressing down high school players for crying about fouls, when all he (and other NBA players) do the same thing on national television every night. And everyone has feelings about Chris Canty saying that LeBron would never command the respect from other pro players that Michael Jordan gets from generations of guys. We give out a big “party in the back” Big Shot of the Week, and play another hilarious round of Shootout.
Right out the gate we jump into Snoop Dogg calling Badminton at the Summer Olympics in Paris, and everyone feels like we need to hear him do a full quarter of a Lakers game! Plus Shaq made some noise this week by trolling Rudy Gobert, and everyone feels like he’s set everyone up to pick on him by performing so poorly after his Defensive Player of the Year award. And everyone on the show loses it with laughter after Frank the Tank’s epic and utter meltdown over the Mets and Sal Licata in the audio of the week! Plus after a Red Sox fans drops a ball over the Green Monster and embarrasses his wife on national television, we talk to Rob about the last time he embarrassed his wife in public… and he says when he got hammered at his birthday party. And we close out with some superhero talk after Deadpool & Wolverine killed it at the box office, because Rob is a little upset by the new Dr. Doom casting announcement.
We open this week’s show on the Summer Olympics, with Rob watching a lot of fencing, volleyball and of course hoops. We immediately dive into the story of the week surrounding Jayson Tatum’s lack of playing time in Game 1, and while Harper thinks it’s a non-story, Rob disagrees because Derrick White got minutes and he’s not even better than Tatum on his own team. And Joel Embiid feels like he’s the most “hated player in the league” and Rob says he’s not even close to that, and the pressure will continue to mount on him until he gets a title to Philadelphia. But Rob does not feel he’s overrated, as some have said this week, but he does feel like we’re all looking past Milwaukee in the East which makes Philly’s road to the Finals that much harder. And none of us like the TNT lawsuit against the NBA, but we also understand why the NBA folded to tech company money over Warner Brothers Discovery’s traditional broadcast money. Plus we touch on Zack LaVine staying in Chicago, the Paul Pierce vs Durant debate that Keyshawn Johnson spawned on Undisputed, and how Durant got into a scrap with everyone on Twitter over that debate. We also dish out an inspiring Big Shot of the Week to the young man who helped save his family during the Oklahoma tornados, and play a hilarious Olympics-themed version of Who’s Bigger!
We tip off the bonus show this week by talking about Kobe’s old locker from Staples Center going up for auction, as it could go for upwards of $1 million. Rob lets us know that Kobe and Shaq actually had TWO lockers because the lockers were small, and Rob says it was Portland that started the trend of bigger fancy lockers and recalls Denver had the fanciest locker room in his day. Plus Rob weighs in on Landon Miller – the son of OSU alumni Braxton Miller – getting offered a scholarship from FAU at 11 years old, and says the extent of his early recruitment was a bus trip to Kentucky for a small school called Cumberland College. The Suns and Celtics will actually have luxury tax bills in 25-26 that are higher than their actually team salary owed, and Rob feels like Boston can swing it but the Suns really can’t. And we are all in shock about the voodoo of Nick Castellanos hitting a home run during every major world event and wonder if this is worse than the Madden curse. And the Audio of the Week comes to us from an apartment resident who hilariously caught a couple having sex in the shared apartment pool!
We’re back in the regular routine this week – and we open the show with some talk about Team USA as the Olympics start this week. LeBron James gets the honor of carrying the flag for the USA during the Opening Ceremonies, and justly so as he’s been the best player on the floor for Team USA so far. And with LeBron and AD playing at this level, Rob tries to figure out why everyone is discounting the Lakers chances… and it all boils down to the surrounding cast of the Lakers. We also get into Evan Mobley’s HUGE deal in Cleveland, and Rob dissects what it’s going to take for that Cleveland line-up to take a step up and improve now that both Mobley and Spida are locked up. Plus Westbrook is on the move to Denver and Rob thinks it’s good fit, and probably his last shot at a title. But Rob wants to see Denver start replacing the talent they’ve lost, and Russ is just one piece to get them back to what they’re missing. Steve Ballmer’s halo board in the new Intuit Arena is AMAZING, but is that enough to lure talent to LA to play with Kawhi and Harden? We also go around on the state of New Jersey have NO CHANCE to steal the 76ers from Philly, how EA College Football 25 broke the bank, and Harper goes on a rant about how this is something every woman should get for his man to earn some brownie points. We discover that Rob loved to play Madden with Dabo Swinney in their college days, and Rob says he used to beat him all the time. There’s also some amazing audio of the week as Lane Kiffin burns Paul Finebaum down on his own show – and we debate how college football’s new conference alignment really screws over so many student athletes. Plus a Big Shot of the Week for a woman who got a sundae named after her at her favorite restaurant, from which we discover that there was a Robert Horry drink to be at PF Chang’s in LA. And we start with the post-credits scene from last week’s show, as Kawhi Leonard steps away from the Olympic team and Jaylen Brown gets the snub by Nike. Rob also offers up his opinion on the Bronny James narrative that has dominated the Summer League conversation, and says it’s important to remember that second round guys like Bronny are being evaluated for their potential, not that their current level – but Jenners disagrees, because he’s never have a shot at an NBA roster if his last name wasn’t James. We also debate if Jaylen Brunson leaving money on the table was the right move, because it largely depends on how management in New York handles using that money. And what kind of big could teams like New York and LA lure with the right coaching and situation? Paul Pierce taking credit for LeBron’s “next step” has Rob wondering why any player would take credit for another player’s hard work and talent – and how you can learn from a team of guys, but never just one guy. And how Barkley calling out the league for their new TV deal was spot on, whether John Wall deserves another shot in the league, how slanted Enes Kantor Freedom’s take is on LeBron James, and the destruction of Hard Rock Stadium by COPA America fans has us reminiscing about the craziest crowd we were ever a part of. And with Futurama coming back again this month, we talk about the TV shows that we'd love to see another season of, including The Wire, Boondocks and the Sopranos.
As we approach the start of the Summer Olympics in Paris, we get heavy into the Team USA lineup and how Anthony Edwards has the big confidence going into the games. Rob also brings up the question about whether or not Joel Embiid should be on Team USA considering he's been a US citizen less than two years. Rob says he should NOT be on the team but is probably playing for the US, instead of Cameroon, because it's his best chance to win gold. Rob has said previously he thought the hire wasn’t the best move for the Lakers, and says he thinks for the Lakers to find any success with this hire is to have some amazing and experienced coaches on his staff. We also debate whether those assistants are putting themselves in line for when JJ fails, how much the podcast with LeBron influenced this hire for the Lakers, and what truth there is to the concept that LeBron and JJ had no discussions about this job before it was offered. We also debate who teams like Philly and the Bucks can add to take that leap to eclipse Boston in the East. It’s also starting to look like Klay Thompson will hit free agency (if reports are to be believed) so Rob weighs in on where Klay would be the best fit. Plus with Charles Barkley announcing he’s retiring from television after next season, Rob believes it will change the landscape of sports television, especially NBA, because of his dynamic personality. And we get deep into the first two games of the Finals, with Rob and Rob both nominating Jaylen Brown as the early MVP, and Harper says he’s not surprised by this series so far because Boston doing what they do best by suffocating the Mavericks. And we’re all waiting for either Luka or Kyrie to take over a game or two and extend the series. Rob also weighs in on Shaq’s comments that he wasn’t the best player on the Lakers during their title runs, as he disagrees with the big fella, saying he was both the best and most dominant player on the floor. Dan Hurley also shot down an offer to coach the Lakers this week, leading Rob to reaffirm that JJ is going to be the hire, as he does not think Borrego is a good coach. And Rob feels like Caitlin Clark needs to earn her stripes in the WNBA before expecting a spot on the Olympic team, because as he goes through the roster of all-time greats that are playing, she just doesn’t stack up yet. Tracy McGrady says Steph Curry still has not cracked his Top 10 all time, so the debate ensues from the start of the bonus show about where (if at all) he’d fall on our lists. And after Luka got his beer poached in the WCF celebration, we ask Rob what those locker rooms are like after a big win… and Rob says there was NO celebration after winning the Conference Finals when he played, they just went home and started working on the next series. Rob says would retire from Spectrum if he was, and compares it (though B-Dog feels unfairly) to Steve Nash’s time as the Nets head coach. Rob says he would definitely take the gig if it were offered to him, but only if he could pick his coaching staff, because he feels like that makes all the difference. Ultimately Ty Lue is the big winner, because he’ll get caught in a bidding war between the Lakers and Clippers. Rob says Jamal Murray is going to continue to be a problem for the Lakers, as his averages against LA are way up from the regular season, and we all question the game plan down the stretch and how the team mentality changed. We also break down the wild end to the Knicks game as they go up 2-0 against the 76ers, Zion Williamson’s unfortunately timed hamstring injury, and how good the Clippers looked in Game 1 of their series against the Mavericks. There are also flowers for Dame Lillard and Anthony Edwards, both who went OFF in their individual games, and we especially look into the dominance of Ant-Man in a huge spot. We also get Rob’s thoughts on Anthony Davis saying “the league doesn’t like me” after another Defensive Player of the Year snub, and while Rob thinks he has a point he also thinks the award has been a joke since the they gave it to Marc Gasol. We are loaded for the bonus show this week, and we start with former Warriors GM Bob Myers who somehow couldn’t find the leak of the Draymond Green vs Jordan Poole fight. Even though the team keeps track of everyone in and out of practice, Rob thinks it must have been hacked or buried on purpose. We also dive into some listener questions about whether the Bucks are regretting their hire of Doc Rivers, what has happened to the once great sports city of Oakland now that the A’s are going to Sacramento for a few seasons, what would happen to the Bulls if Billy Donovan takes the Kentucky. Rob also weighs in on last week’s bad look for the Dodgers, after the way they handled the young woman who caught Shohei Ohtani’s first home run in LA and they all but threatened her to give up the ball for far less than it was worth. And after the New York earthquake last week, Rob and the crew reflect on some of the wildest natural disasters that we’ve lived through.
We’re a day late this week because Rob had to have a colonoscopy, which leads to some weird and funny observations about going to the doctor. We also ask Rob if he thinks the Lakers have turned their back on Darvin Ham, and Rob says seeing guys walk out of the huddle is very normal in the NBA because guys know the play that the coach is drawing up. Props go out to UConn for bringing home their second straight National Championship – and specifically to Rob’s friend Dawn Staley for leading South Carolina to a women’s title and completing the unbeaten season. We also feature some of Dawn Staley’s post game audio, as she had a class move in recognizing Caitlin Clark. And we all contemplate if the buzz from the women’s tournament will carry over to the WNBA this season. Rob also talks about how much the “one-and-done” killing the storylines in the men’s game, and we all think that Bronny James declaring for the Draft is more of a portal move, and he’ll likely stay in college but move to a new program. Plus we debate whether Paul Pierce is drinking again on TV, thinking the Lakers would trade LeBron for Spida – but we do wonder what the Cavs are going to do with Donovan Mitchell… could he work in San Antonio with Wemby? A cool Big Shot of the Week gets us into some eclipse talk, and it’s a History Making Edition of the High/Low game!
We open up the bonus show this week by looking at the sale of Kobe's championship ring at auction, which set a record, and Jenners did not realize that they gave every winner two rings for winning a title. And a listener question asks if the Lakers need a third star this offseason and Rob jokes that if the guys, they have plays to their potential they won't need one. We also throw some love to Isaiah Thomas for getting another 10-day with the Suns, debate whether Jokic should be okay to sit out as opposed to playing through small injuries, and joke about the squatters that are apparently ruining LeBron's neighborhood in Beverly Hills. Rob also weighs in on "foul hunters" and disagrees that Jalen Brunson falls into that group. but agrees that there are other guys that do.
Rob was in the building to see Alabama knock off North Carolina and advance to the Final Four, and the crew talks about the DJ Burns phenomenon at NC State, the Iowa-LSU game on the women’s side, and Zach Edey’s controversial comments after Purdue advanced to the Final Four. We also get into the LeBron James comments that his career is reaching its end, largely because that wasn’t breaking news, but Rob looks at it from the perspective of a former player who was worn down from the mental and physical grind of playing in the league. Jenners also has to eat some crow after Anthony Davis has reached 70 games started, and we play some audio of the funniest April Fool’s prank on an unassuming mom! Plus Joel Embiid’s possible return this week could be a turning point for the Sixers, what Draymond Green has done to the Warriors dynasty, and Paul George’s future in LA or elsewhere. We also give out one of the best Big Shots of the Week we’ve heard in ages, and Rob and B-Dog face off in another classic round of Black Crime or White Crime!
Rob wants to know how B-Dog treats his beard as we open the bonus show this week. We also take a minute to recognize Opening Day as the national holiday it deserves to be, and we ask Rob how important it really is for players to play in a city they love as we reflect on the failure of the Nets to attract star players. Plus Rob reminds Mike Greenberg and everyone listening that NO college team at level could even attempt to compete with pro teams. And Kendrick Perkins saying he’d ride with Brunson over all other point guards spurs a debate about what point guard we would want to run with into the postseason. Paul Pierce also brings a debate to the show as he said that Steph’s influence on the NBA was greater than Jordan or Magic’s. And we close it out with a Start-Bench-Cut between Draymond, Pat Bev and Bobby Portis.
Rob is going to see Alabama take on North Carolina in the Sweet Sixteen in LA this week, as Rob hopes to see his Tide avenge his last college basketball loss which came at the hands of UNC. Plus the tournament talk launches us into a debate about the merits of the transfer portal, in both basketball and football, and how bad the NCAA has been about regulation. And even though Kentucky continues to be a relevant brand, Harper wants to know how long it will be before they move on from John Calipari. We also dive deep in to the Western Conference standings, and how the Warriors need to keep an eye on the Rockets regardless of how Draymond Green seems to feel. And Boston’s disappointing performance against the Hawks (blowing a 30 point lead) didn’t really change anyone’s opinion that the Celtics are the team to beat in the East. There’s also some hilarious audio from Bol Bol, who accused the refs of “d*** riding” for Victor Wembanyama and doesn’t even catch a tech! And with Houston being on a hot streak, Jenners is surprised by the story that the Rockets tried to move him to the Nets for Mikal Bridges. The Big Shot of the Week goes to Travis Hunter who bought his mom a “nice ass house” – followed by a debate about how many bathrooms a house SHOULD have! And we close it out with a classic round of Shootout!

Robert Horry opens the show this week by talking about his dislike for coffee, the cool special needs event he was privileged to attend this week, and the upcoming interview he has with his son Christian now that he’s committed to UCLA. We also talk about the Jalen Johnson dunk on Austin Reaves, and the dunk of the year, as Anthony Edwards postered John Collins in epic fashion this week. That spins into a conversation about Ant Man’s upside, what Rob expects to see from him in the coming years, and how good the Pelicans have been now that Zion Williamson has returned to his #1 pick form. Robert Horry celebrates his son Christian’s team, Harvard Westlake, celebrating their second straight State Championship – as Chris gets ready to transition to UCLA this fall and get involved in the college program. On the NBA front we get into the perception of the Lakers “deep bench” as it’s touted by the media, and how the Lakers have flashes of greatness at times then drop games they should absolutely win. Plus with Jayson Tatum’s rough week, we argue if that takes him out of MVP contention, and who realistically deserves to win it at this point in the year, with SGA, Luka and of course Jokic in the conversation. And after Rudy Gobert caught a $100K fine for flashing the money sign at the refs, we wonder why there has been such a lack of consistency with fines among players and coaches this year. After the Celtics boat-raced the Warriors and beat them by 52, we talk to Rob about the worst loss he ever took. So how many people got married on Leap Day yesterday? Rob thinks it’s a masterful move so you only have to celebrate your anniversary once every four years! That also spins us into a discussion about the young faces of the league going forward. We also have a laugh about Shaq’s memories of Dennis Rodman saying he smelled like “Garbage Truck Water” – and Rob says that Shaq actually left something out… not only would he not shower after games, but he’d work out too. Rob’s YouTube tribute from a fan kicks things off this week, and it’s really well done even though Rob doesn’t know the guy who put it together. And of course we get right into Monty Williams killing the refs after the end of the Pistons-Knicks game, and we all discuss just how big of an issue the bad calls and questionable refereeing has been this season. Rob feels like there are too many new rules in the NBA for these refs to keep up with and it causes more problems than it should. We also take a look at the Heat-Pelicans fight, as Jimmy set the fuse and that whole game fell apart at the end. And LeBron had the media sideways this week after telling the media to “back off” Bronny and let him be a kid, even though he was the one who posted on social media that Bronny could play in the league right now. That also spirals into a conversation about the expectations that the children of pro athletes have to face as they try to make their own way, something Rob has to deal with in regards to his son Christian. Court storming is also a lightning rod of the week after Kyle Filipowski got hurt when Wake Forest fans stormed the court, and Rob wishes it wasn’t a thing, while we disagree because it’s a true sports tradition. And another one of Stephen A’s rants about Zion’s weight catches a stray from Stephon Marbury and Rob has thoughts. Plus the new Clippers logo feels too “high-brow” for the NBA, a really cool Big Shot of the Week to the NY Transit Authority Police, and another fun game about real businesses and fake businesses called “The Next Big Thing”.

Rob is thrilled because it’s where he wanted to play and it’s a great school, even though there’s an allure to play at USC because his mom’s and alumni and Bronny is there. Plus everyone piles on the All-Star Game after a very poor showing by the NBA’s best players – after no one tried, they tossed up ridiculous three-point shots, and Rob says the only solution is to scrap the game entirely and do something new. And Rob wants to see more of the women’s players involved in the All-Star festivities because it will keep the weekend in the spirit of fun and inclusion. LeBron to the Warriors was the story of the week that wasn’t actually a story, as Rob says he doesn’t see any road where LeBron actually leaves LA before he retires. And Rob’s best friend Ty Lue saying he wants to kick the refs earned him a $35K fine, along with the Nets dismissing Jaques Vaughn as Brooklyn remains in purgatory. The Big Shot of the Week goes to a South Bend police officer who saved a dog who had its snout zip-tied shut, and a hilarious round of Black Crime or White Crime during Black History Month!
We tip off the Shoot Around this week by looking at the Obi Toppin dunk fail against the Knicks, which spins us into a conversation about how we fail trying to show off… and it always seems involve trying to impress a girl. Rob is asked who is to blame for the Duncan Robinson-Jaylen Brown fight over the weekend, because it got ugly quickly, and Rob thinks it was a freak accident but didn’t like the angle of how Robinson’s arm went back. We also get listener questions about when we are willing to admit the Warriors dynasty is over, what cities are the best to host events like this weekend’s NBA All-Star game, break-up protocol after Marcus Jordan and Larsa Pippen have apparently split, and how excited we are for the Deadpool & Wolverine movie.
It’s a huge Super Bowl after show for the guys, as we talk about Beyonce, Patrick Mahomes, and a huge debate breaks out about the definition of a “dynasty” in sports. Plus B-Dog believes Patrick Mahomes is the greatest quarterback of all-time after that win, which the Robs don’t agree with due to his young age, but everyone does agree that Usher killed it at the halftime show performance. And we laugh at the fact that neither team understood the new overtime rules, and B-Dog has a bone to pick with Kyle Shannahan. Oh yeah, and we actually talk basketball on the show, as Rob does NOT like the addition of Spencer Dinwiddie to the Lakers because he can’t figure out how they’re going to use him. We also jump into some of the bigger splash moves from the trade deadline, the buzz about Trae Young’s future in Atlanta, and how much Rob enjoyed the unveiling of the Kobe statue and where the three statues will go. The LA Fire Department gets our Big Shot of the Week for a daring river rescue, and with Valentine’s Day this week we play a game called “Heart Broken” about the biggest losses sports fans have ever suffered.

And we haven’t had a better rant than Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic, who called out the NBA referees for “a complete crap” of a game against the Lakers, and enjoyed the hell out of Mike Brown bringing highlights to the post-game presser. Dwyane Wade’s state going up in Miami prompts a conversation about other superstars that deserve a statue that hasn’t gotten one yet. And the conversation about Bill Belichick leaving New England poses the question about whether he was only great because of Tom Brady. Plus where do Rob and B-Dog fall in on the criticism surrounding Davin Ham, the Lakers trying to make moves at the deadline, and George Karl blaming AD for the Lakers’ shortcomings this season. And with Draymond Green making his return to the floor, Jenners and B-Dog both lay into him over his retirement sob story to Adam Silver, because this is very much a situation of his own making. This also leads Rob to talk about the celebrities that threw the best birthday parties, and he shares a story about crashing Vin Diesel’s birthday party in Miami. We’re back for a big 2024!! Rob spent the New Year in Portland, watching his son battle in a tournament, and of course both Rob and B-Dog on the woes of the Lakers line-up. Plus Rob weighs in on the Lakers possibly making a move for Dejounte Murray out of Atlanta, but isn’t sure the Lakers are willing to part with the players and picks needed to get him. We also take a look at the standings as we hit the 2024 half of the season, including how good the Thunder have been and what setbacks the All-Star packed Suns have faced. And we never miss an opportunity to pick on Rob after the Alabama Crimson Tide lost the College Football Playoff in terrible fashion… even though Georgia showed the country they were clearly the best team in the country and should have been playing in these games. Plus Ja’s “gunshot” celebration, the MVP ladder that is shockingly missing Anthony Edwards, an inspiring Big Shot of the Week from England, and a hilarious edition of Walmart or Waffle House!
We open the show this week with Ja Morant’s return to the NBA. Rob is really happy to see him back and we all loved the cinematic ending to win the game in his first game back, but the Grizzlies have a mountain to climb in the West. Plus, does the Spurs horrible record affect Wemby’s shot at Rookie of the Year? Especially considering how good Chet Holmgren has been playing as the Thunder continue to roll in the West. And of course we get deep into Draymond’s latest suspension, which screams of a much bigger problem for the Warriors. Rob thinks he will need to address his “on-court aggression” otherwise he may end up hurting his team and it will become a reflection on Steve Kerr’s coaching. Speaking of coaching, we also try to figure out why Ime Udoka is pouring fuel on the Dillon Brooks fire in Houston as opposed to finding a way to grab the reigns and teach this young team the right way to play. B-Dog also has a mixed reaction to the Lakers hanging an In-Season Tournament banner, as everyone believes that it’s nice to celebrate but feels “less than” every other banner in the rafters in Los Angeles. And with all the media buzz around Ant Man saying he wants to “cook LeBron”, Rob feels that is the right attitude to have, and he shouldn’t be dragged for wanting to face off against the best player on the floor. We also give our predictions for the College Football Playoff and who we think will be playing for a title when we return from the break. Shaquille O’Neal gets our Big Shot of the Week for FILLING a gym with gifts for Atlanta kids in need. And we round it out with a hilarious Christmas-themed edition of Black Crime or White Crime. Rob was in the building in Vegas as the Lakers won the NBA in-season tournament and AD was a BEAST in the win. Rob also informs us that the Lakers plan to hang a banner for the In-Season Tournament and we CANNOT believe it! We’re also stoked to see Bronny finally hit the court with some confidence after a scary situation with his heart, and Rob has an earnest conversation about Zion Williamson’s weight and how it can affect his health down the line after seeing him up close in Vegas. Tyrese Haliburton can also name all the players drafted ahead of him and so can Robert Horry! Plus Rob doesn’t agree with the Shohei Ohtani contract deferment, largely because he would NEVER do it. We give out a really cool Big Shot of the Week, and close out the show with a funny round of “Loaded Questions” – which include Rob’s favorite breakfast, why Rob hates cleaning bathrooms, everyone’s porn name, and jumping wolf spiders.
