Missed ReCooper8 on Sunday? Well, do not despair – you have a second chance! It really was a goodie. We chatted with Jen Olson about Featherston Booktown; Jane Ross about the upcoming Wairarapa Film Festival; Rebekah Merhtens about life travelling around the South Island in a bus with her family; and Christine Eliseev about her … More April’s show was a corker!

This weekend, I had the privilege of interviewing Christine Eliseev, who lives in Carterton with her husband, Vlad, and their kids. Vlad’s mum, Lyubov (which means love, aroha, in Russian) is trapped in the Ukraine city of Kharkiv. Lyubov has been bombed out of her apartment and is now staying with friends of friends. Vlad … More Interview with Christine Eliseev

Yes. I know. It is March. Sorry! Nevertheless! You’ll learn to love it! Once again, great guests, great music (thank you Katie!!), plus Coops gets very impassioned about The Long Time Academy (and also gets quite a few technical details about discount rates utterly wrong. Bernard Hickey, forgive her! You can’t fault her enthusiasm!) Thank … More February’s show is available!

Kia ora tātou, ngā mihi o te tau hou! Hello and happy new year! After a hiatus in December ’21, ReCooper8 is Back! If you missed last night’s show, shame on you! You can make amends by listening here to the stellar Becky Bateman, stargazer-in-chief at Under The Stars, the intrepid Rebekah Mehrtens and family in our regular new slot, Meet the Mehrtens, and the unflappable Jenni Hall, events coordinator at Carterton Events Centre! Plus all the usual topical and en pointe music from our Katie, and the general air of tightly scripted shambles and vague hysteria you’ve come to know and love/tolerate!

January’s show! No video this month, which is a shame as Katie and Coops looked especially gorgeous this month.

Thank you to all our terrific guests! Thank you to you for your support and for listening! And thank you to Arrow FM 92.7 and Wairarapa TV for making all this possible!

Our next show will be Sunday 8pm on 20 February! Mwah x

Relive the fun, joy and occasional smart phone/office furniture drama of last night’s edition of ReCooper8 with Katie and Coops! On the show we had the pleasure of music appreciation with artist and musicophile Jen Olson, film chat with Jane Ross, creative director of the Wairarapa Film Festival, and book chat with Martinborough-based author Jared Gulian, whose latest novel, The Last Beekeeper, is making a tremendous impact on readers across the globe.

You can listen here:

Sound! Or watch here (it really was just the Katie Show, visually, on account of not all of the cameras working! Fortunately, she was wearing some spectacular lippy!):

And vision! A huge thank you to our wonderful guests! Massive thanks as always go to Arrow FM, one of Aotearoa’s 12 community access radio stations, for giving us the opportunity to be on air, and to Toby Mills and Wairarapa TV for making it radio with pictures!

Typing ‘#1’ indicates there might be more that one episode of ReCooper8 Bitesize. But, if Lockdown has taught me anything, it’s to not overpromise, overthink or over-worry! This could be the one and only, but if nothing else, the concept has potential!

Friend of the Show, Becky Bateman, Astronomer-in-Chief at Under the Stars Wairarapa, has inspired Bitesize with the launch today of her podcast, Under the Stars Shorts. I caught up with her this afternoon under (in a virtual sense) the precarious canopy of my hastily improvised audio studio to talk about her podcast project and other matters!

Got a quick story or bit of chat to share? Contact Lucy at recoopereight@gmail.com and let’s record a Bitesize!
