A self-limiting belief is a belief we believe about ourselves that limit us from reaching our optimal potential. In this episode, we dive into self-limiting beliefs that teachers may have AND ways that we can twist those self-limiting beliefs into ones that serve us!
Is it assumed in your school that new teachers will do all the "extra" teacher stuff such as chaperoning dances, concerts, sporting events, advising clubs, joining committees, etc? It's very easy to tell someone to just "say no," however in this episode I talk about the very REAL FEELINGS of why it's sometimes hard for new teachers to say no to the extra teacher stuff. This week I'm sharing information I learned in a research study I read about the actions of effective teachers. I discuss information from the study including factors that DON'T effect teacher effectiveness, as well as what the most effective and less effective teachers focus on and do. Student behavior can be a daunting topic, especially as a new teacher. We think about all of the possible behavioral situations that can occur and wonder how to handle each one.
