We dedicate Episode 89 to a whole host of Nintendo news. From worrying reports that Nintendo Wii U consoles are rotting away while being left in storage, to a surprise Metroid release on the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack.

First up, the bad news. Fans of Nintendo's follow up to the Wii have found that they're unable to boot up their systems successfully. While it's unknown the exact reason, it appears to be degrading NAND storage chips - perhaps it's time to get your old console down and out of the loft? Unfortunately, the bad news doesn't stop there as players of the latest Pokémon titles have been reporting their save games becoming corrupted after updating to the latest version of Scarlet and Violet.

Next up we move on to some more positive news with the announcement of a new Nintendo Switch bundle to celebrate MAR10 Day (or March 10th for those who didn't already know). Plus LEGO announce their own MAR10 Day livestream.

Finally we take a look at a duo of Matroid announcements. Firstly the recently release Metroid Prime Remaster has claimed to the number two spot in the UK's game chart, despite being sold out in many stores. This was then followed up with the surprise release of the Game Boy Advance exclusive Metroid Fusion, the follow up to the SNES classic - Super Metroid.

This week Barry will take control while Anthony is away on his jollies (holidays for non-Northerners).  He will be taking a look at Square Enix's surprise announcement, as well as a future Square Enix title that could be getting a remake.  Some PlayStation owners are also concerned as their PlayStation 1 digital titles are no longer able to be played due to expiring over 40 years ago?  Is this a nefarious ploy by Sony to move everyone across to PlayStation Plus, or just some intern entering the wrong server date?  We guess the latter.

GOG will is looking to return to it's roots of Good Old Games as they make changes to highlight the classic PC titles you can play on Windows 10 and 11, and speaking of good old games... Ron Gilbert has teased us with a brand new Monkey Island adventure coming to PC later this year.
