This six part series will explore our 5 physical senses to deepen then and develop our 6th sense. Through understanding our senses we can better manage the information we take in which will allow us to to focus, relax and really know ourselves. Our lives are bombarded with stimulus and information making it hard to separate out what are needs, wants, fears, desires, past, present and future. Our bodies receive data and information that create physical or emotional signals that can be difficult to interpret when we are busy or distracted.
This series allows us to explore each of our senses individually and see how we take in the world around us through them and how they converge or overlap with other senses. Each episode will also feature an exercise for the sensory focus area. For scent we look at why scent was considered less important or even perverse and how we can use a meditation technique to conjure scent.

Just in time for the annual Singapore Writers Festival we welcome best-selling author Suffian Hakim to discuss the publishing process, the butterfly effect, the recent controversy to hit the local publishing world, cancel culture, power dynamics of relationships, why you should never ride an elephant in Thailand (or buy a painting they did) and reveal a secret of the publishing industry that mildly traumatises Alvin.

For Sound I have included an exercise at the end which is initially best done in a quiet space- or what initially may seem like a quiet space since there are always sounds around us when we tune into them.

We welcome The Apprentice: One Championship Edition guest Teirra Kamolvattanavith to discuss Memento Mori, sourcing banned items for Iranians, what Anderson Silva and Rocky Marciano have in common, themes of Electra complex in Sailor Moon, what happens when starving artists get wealthy, nose goblins, messages encoded in DNA, Molly baby booms and panda handstands. Also, I should point out that my mother smoked cigarettes and NOT crack in case it wasn't clear. And to any gamers, I totally mix up Link & Pac-Man's death music which may say more about my age and ight career. #headtrauma

Our first episode is sans guests as Bangkok goes into lockdown and we discuss books and speculative fiction, ear fondling and ax carrying politicians of the modern age, Genki Sudo (who had fought Ian Schaffa in April 2006 as told to me by Adam Kayoom), seeing your friends on billboards, flexing to attract the opposite sex and finding friends through teeth grinding.
