- Questions of the day: In honor of Mari and Kenny’s super real, not at all fake and staged wedding with none of their friends and family and full of absolute strangers…What is your all time favorite fake television wedding?
- We made it. The end of another season of Bachelor in Paradise.
- This was a freaking THREE HOUR EPISODE. No thank you
- Mari/Kenny Wedding-was Wells your favorite part too?
- Conspiracy-do you think the producers told them if they did a fake ceremony on the show, their actual wedding with people they love and care about would be paid for by the franchise?
- Oh look…Blake is back…
- Couples not making it through the first 5 min: Jess and Tanner
- Couples not making it past the wedding: Mercedes and that guy who nobody knows…aka…Jordan
- Final Five Couples-Jess says they have to make a decision. Almost everyone panics.
- Kylee and Aven
- Olivia and MIchael
+
- Eliza and Aaron are heading to fantasy suites
- Kat and John Henry are heading to fantasy suites
- A montage of the last ten weeks using one of my favorite songs happens next. (Waiting for a Star to Fall) and then recaps. The Aven/Kylee one is awkward…better than the entire season-they also make fun of Blake’s obsession with being in the franchise-
- Aaron and Eliza have hit a speedbump-no more details
- Kat and JH are happily engaged
- Jesse Palmer and his wife are expecting

- Questions of the day: What is your most awkward meeting family story?
- Golden Bachelor:
- Leslie
- She shows up to the “Meet the family” pretty confident and seems to really wow them. Thoughts about the interaction? What advice would you give to someone when meeting the family?
- The daughters seemed worried Leslie isn’t ready to accept a proposal…did you get that vibe?
- They go to the last chance date and Gerry is off..,which we later find out is because he has decided she is not the one.
- How do you think he handled this?
- It seemed like he said some stuff in the fantasy suite that really made her think she had it in the bag?
- Their AfFR convo was amicable, but she still seemed hurt. How do you think she will rebound? Will she be the first women’s GB
- Thereasa
- Turns out Gary is really into her! This was a real topsy turvy.
- She got along great with the family, he proposed, she said yes…
- At the AtFR they say they are getting married in January.
- What is the pre-mortem on this?
- Why will they work out?
- Why wont they work out?
- BiP
- We pick up with Jess&Blake melting down (I have thoughts)
- I feel like Blake wanted out and basically put in on her for not being totally into their relationship?
- Does she have to be?
- Do you think Blake would have been all in if she didn’t?
- Mercedes and Tyler
- Everyone knows Tyler isn’t into our girl Mercedes. So she confronts him and he says as much, but also is like “I want to stay in paradise a bit longer, so can we just like hangout?” She says no and Tyler leaves.
- Any last thoughts for Tyler?
- Rachel Nicole seems locked on Jordan, he isn’t that into her (hint he is into Mercedes)....
- So we got a level five cluster “F” and everyone is scrambling for a date.
- Brayden and Tanner hit up Jess
- Taylor hits up Mercedes
- Thoughts on the musical chairs?
- Rose ceremony…
- All the other couples give roses as we would expect
- Jess goes with Tanner, which sends Brayden home and even more embarrassingly Taylor thinks he got call…is this the most embarrassing thing that can happen in paradise?
- Thoughts on this pairing?
- Mercedes goes with Jordan…which takes Rachel Nicoles man…
- Thoughts on Mercedes and Jordan’s connection?
- Rachel Nicole goes home crying again…is this the last we see of her on the Bachelor franchises?

- Question of the day: What is your favorite euphemism for sex?
- Golden Bachelor:
- Fantasy Suites-Jesse is super uncomfortable-Is it weird to think about your parents having sex
- Leslee and Gerry-adventure date with rappelling.
- Gerry asks Leslee why she hasn’t asked any hard questions so she asks when was the last night they had sex. But it’s clear he wants to actually have a discussion
- Gerry tells Leslee that he thinks she’s the one, so if he ends up not picking her, it’s going to be really bad
- Thoughts on their time together?
- Teresa and Gerry-horseback riding in silence
- Teresa tells Gerry that she is in love and he doesn’t want to hurt her feelings but he can’t stop thinking about Leslee and what she’s doing
- We find out that Teresa is a boss ass bitch and she says she’ll retire if this works out with Gerry-And Gerry seems pretty turned on by her career m
- We had found out that Gerry retired at 55-how is this even possible? And what did he do for the last fifteen years?
- Gerry is now back in. Thoughts on their time together?
- Is Gerry going to have a breakdown? He has told both of them that he loves them. But he also says he has made his decision. Is it going to be awful for who he did pick to watch this episode?
- BiP
- We start with Olivia getting ready to go on her 1:1 date with the new guy, Michael, the new guy who’s name she doesn’t know 🙂 and we find out John Henry likes heavy metal but Kat wouldn’t never go to a mosh pit because ‘people die’ and we’re ready to rock and roll on Bachelor in Paradise
- New guys on the beach-Jordan and Taylor. No idea who either of these guys are? What is the point of new people at this stage? Jordan was Rachel Nicole’s first 1:1 on her season but she sent him home-she’s excited to see him now. What are our thoughts on second chances?
- Their date is group couples tantric yoga and producers…are you kidding me with this?
- Tanner is sad that RN is on the date-there is a miscommunication in which Tanner is about to be friendzoned, but they actually talk it out, and it’s not looking good for our new guy Jordan.
- Eliza and Aaron are officially going steady now and they’re boring. Brayden pierces Tyler’s ear and Mercedes’ face says ‘I hate this’.
- Truth box-Is Tyler actually interested in Mercedes?
- Katie shows up
- Blake panics. Another 2nd chance possibility? Do you think it’s appropriate to end an engagement over the phone?
- Katie is actually there to hold a roast. I hate roasts. Thoughts on the roast?
- Roasts suck. The Kat stuff was funny. The Jess stuff was mean. Tanner roasts RN just after they finally got their relationship going? Dumb boy. Blake and Jess are probably not long for this world.

- Question of the day: What was cool when you were young but isn’t cool now?
- Golden Bachelor:
- Overall vibe differences?
- Kathy talks about her interactions. She said she could have been more delicate. The women really seem to like her. Are you moved? Did your opinion change?
- Joan talks about her feeling of leaving early due to her daughter's pregnancy complications. Thoughts? I kind of thought she wanted out…
- Faith goes home!!!!! I am actually shocked, what happened?
- Who is Gerry picking?
- BiP
- Charity and tells Eliza Aaron is a dog and seems to not really hold Aaron to account. First did you think she should have been more honest with Aaron about what she told Eliza?
- Aaron and Eliza seem to be good…thoughts?
- Kat goes after John Henry. Olivia tells John she really likes him. John says aww shucks and sucks face with Kat…it’s on.
- First who wins in a fight Kat or Olivia?
- I don’t think John Henry is really bright, maybe him and Kat are great for each other? What matches well between them?
- What did you think of John’s apology?
- Blake and Jess are back together…I agree with Kim…Black a dog.
- Cocktail party goes as planned, except Brayden gives Olivia (because Beca flakes) his rose and Davia goes home (Tanner became the “it” boy). Any Shockers?

- Question of the day: What TV show dad would you most like to become a bonus grandparent?
- Golden Bachelor
- Theresa’s HT
- What do we think about his interaction with the kids? I felt like it was awkward?
- Gerry said he was in-love with Theresa...bombshell is she the only one?
- Faith’s HT
- She loves horses and Gerry seemed OK with them…is this a stumbling block? Horse people are weird…do you have to like all of the same things your partner does?
- They kind of whispered I love to each other…is Gerry telling everyone he loves them?
- Leslie’s HT
- Leslie’s brother Stuart seemed to be the person to convince. Do you think that should be the family’s role? Especially with older contestants?
- He called her wife material…we got a pickle
- Gerry runs off crying…what is going to happen?
- BiP
- Tanner comes back and Kat is mad! Tanner had a great time with Davia and basically is like thanks but no thanks Kat…Kat says she doesn’t care
- Do you think Tanner handled this right? Could you date Kat?
- Kat has like a 20second regeneration period and is makin’ do me eyes at John Henery. John H is like “awww shucks” which makes Kat want him more. But also Olivia wants him…trouble in paradise
- Thoughts on the Olivia vs Kat situation? Who is JH better suited for?
- Blake and Jess are at a crossroads. Basically, Jess isn’t sold and Blake doesn’t want to commit unless it is a sure thing.
- Enter Genevie. Blake says Jess isn’t sure so he “has” to go on the date, which makes Jess fore lorn. Is Blake following the “rules” of paradise?Thoughts?
- But…Tyler takes the opportunity to lay the mack down of Jess and she is with it! Is this an OK move? Jess is totally cool with it, but Mercedes doesn’t seem to know about it. We got a love pentagon!
- How do they sort this out? How is Mercedes doing in all this?
- Brayden gets pulled by Becca and because Brayden is a golden retriever he loves Becca…Rachel Nicole is sad.
- Who is a better fit for the Brayden-retriver? Of course he freestyle raps…of course…
- Kat is still stirring up shit and tells Eliza that Aaron a dog and she is concerned. Aaron says he is not a dog and lets Kat know that too. But, then Charity come in!!!!

Welcome to Bachademia. Danielle and Kim in the house and we are ready to tear it up. The Bachelorette is down to the final 6 and we have opinions. LOL.
Before we jump into things: this week they went to NOLA– which is one of my favorite places. My question is this: is there a city that you’d just refuse to go to?
Recap: The episode begins with Joey and Charity going on a one-on-one in NOLA . They do lots of NOLA like things: horse ride. Beignets. Then they have dinner and Charity brings up that hometowns are soon and asks Joey his position on being in an interracial relationship. He says some generic stuff that seems good enough for Charity, he tells he is falling in love, he gets a rose. Then we have a two on one with Tanner and Sean. Here we meet Captain Tom– I guess they had the city date and now they are having their Cajun date and alligators. Sean is outgoing and a bit obnoxious. Charity mostly seems to like it over Tanner being an introvert. Sean is there to hit his goals– which is Charity. Charity decides not to give out a rose but also not send them home. Tanner is relieved. Sean is upset. This kicks off his downward spiral.
Back at the hotel, Aaron is also starting to unravel. He wanted a date darnit and this is his hometown. But Dotun gets the next one-on-one. They do a fun run. They are lovely together. He says he’s falling in love. He gets a rose.
Sean continues to spiral and decides he needs answers and the answer is Charity is just not into him. He goes home. This leaves Xavier, Aaron, and Tanner to go on a date. At this point it is pretty clear that Tanner isn’t coming out of this with a rose.
Xavier admits he may not be ready to commit to one person. I think this is going to come back up which is a bummer because he knits but he makes it through.
Tanner goes home. End of episode. Honestly pretty low-key episode.
So let’s get into ti:
- Joey: What are your thoughts about his response to her question about interracial relationships? Realistic or doods never thought about it?
- What’s wrong with Tanner?
- Aaron- is his unraveling a red flag?
- Xavier- any chance?
- Kim’s Korner: Running as a date/Families who 5K/My body won’t let me run anymore and I’m sad (laugh cries)
- I’m going with Dotun and Joey as the final two. Your predictions?

Welcome to Bachademai! Bill and Danielle here today! Woof was there some Braydon drama this week and Bill and I are going give our best bachademia insights on this hot mess. But before we begin
Question of the day: Which barbie are you?
I did a quiz from buzzfeed and this is what I got
You are Anneliese! (Who is this? is this a real Barbie?)
Just like Princess Anneliese, you are kind and loved by all for your constant desire to help others. You can be a little naïve at times but that's only because you've lived a bit of a sheltered life. That shouldn't let anyone fool you, though, because you are very smart and specifically love science. You are the definition of "prim and proper" and always act to the benefit of others...even if that means putting your own interests aside. Overall, you're smart, loving, and incredibly kind.
Recap:
Questions:
- Phew. Given you are our relationship expert, were those red flags we saw on Breyden’s one-on-one? (Did you see Charity’s tweet: Two of my facoite things: black eyes and red flags?)
- Why do you think the guys got so upset with Sean? Warranted?
- The internet loves Xavier’s knitting. Knitting is it an aphrodisiac? Xavier or John, who you dating? (WEll, you know what i mean)
- Bill’s Banter?
- Why was WAwrick’s dates so awkward???
- Is what Breyden’s saying wild and a red flag or we all playing under Bachelorette rules? How long do you think he will last.
- Any remaining insights?
- Shout out - Gravesend, New York

Welcome to Bachademai! Y’ll got me and Kim coming at you with all the deep insights on this season of the Bachelorette. How’s it going Kim? So hear me out, there is something about this seasons contestants that feel very boy band to me. I don’t know if it is all the 90s hair or what. Kim inspired me to read the Jessica Simpson autobiography earlier this year, so I feel like I learned a lot about boy bands.
- Question of the day: If you were able to organize a boy band and produce their music what would you name the band?
- Recap:
- Let’s start with the Aaron B date. Thoughts on the double-sided coin. Romantic or a little magician-y? Also, Hollywood Sign date: cool or boring?
- Dodge Bowl: Thoughts on the speedos? Caleb, Adrian, Xavier. Who deserved MVP? Thoughts on John getting the group date rose?
- Thoughts on Adrian. Should he be dishing out stuff about Braydon?
- The Record Breaking Kiss. Do you think she and Joey have a thing for each other? (I think he’s the puppy dog of the season. Remember the weird but completely smitten magician a few seasons back. Like you know he’d do anything for Charity but it feels one sided).
- Kim’s Corner-We’re doing a full on boy band deep dive, baby!
- Chapstick.
- Danielle’s random notes:
- Braydon is really riding on that first impression rose high. Aaron B- Gets a one-on-one. Old school music or contemporary beats. Military backgrounds.Thoughts on a double sided coin? Hollywood sign date: cool or boring?
- Charity’s therapist background really shows itself in the way she asks questions.
- Hear me out: so many of these guys have strong boy band vibes. What do you think that means for the guy’s relationship in the house?
- Dodge Bowl. Thoughts on the speedos. Can we at least appreciate the 90s colors. I can’t believe we are doing this when Yosef has a daughter at home! I love the crowd almost gets nailed with the balls. Xavier rocking his camp dodge ball skills. I wanna know more about their sharpie tats.
- Caleb is definitely a wild waters raft instructor in Colorado, right? Or he’s in WWE. It’s a toss up. OMG He really is a pro wrestler. The Bachelorette, breaking stereotypes with complex characters. Adrian MVP.
- John-bball. He’s super cute.
- I really appreciated their conversation about what a rose represents.
- Adrian is a man. He has a daughter.
- Serious vs. Play. Did Adrian stir up drama? What it warranted.
- Kiss record breaking– Joey thoughts? I feel like Joey is the puppy dog of the season. He’s the really sweet guy that is just smitten with Charity
- Sean- so you’ve made out with her longer than I spoken with her so that sucks. LOL
- Brayden is way too mentally fragile for this. It is episode 2 and he’s unraveling. Lord.
- Ya’ll these men and their chapstick.
- Brayden/Adrian Drama– thoughts?
- Rose ceremony: I was so sad Harvard boy with the beautiful lashes went home.

Welcome to Bachademia. We are about to have a snowy spring break. I’ve got Kim with me. She’s the bee’s knees. I’ve never understood that phrase. Do bee’s have knees? Are they nice knees? Kim is amazing and I’ve missed her. How’s life Kim?
Today’s question: have you ever written or received a cringy love note?
Recap: They go to Budapest. We learn Greer has recovered from Covid but things don’t seem promising. But Zach’s a nice guy, so he strings her along. He asks Kaity on a second one-on-one. They walk around and almost share personal information with each other– like Zach’s genealogy. They write each other love letters that I have feelings about but the letters themselves had no feeling. That night, Zach describes himself as flabbergasted. Kaity talks about how men in her life have always left her. She cries. We learn nothing about Zach or his family.
Somewhere along the way, Greer flies to Budapest to get dumped.
They announce the group date and we learn that Brooklyn will get the one-on-one. Kat is breaking down. So they go see a mentalist– which is a psychic magician. The emotional labor required on this date is unexpected. Again, women disclose things about themselves and Zach does not. But Gabi says holy shiitake mushrooms, so I’m still watching. And Gabi gets the group date rose.
I’m worried about Brooklyn’s fate at this point because Zach describes her as a real cowgirl and he doesn’t really come across as a cowboy. So…. Brooklyn and Zach also take a bath together and then at dinner Brooklyn explains how important her family is which makes Zach unable to breathe. He stares pensively at the Budapest skyline and then dumps Brooklyn.
It is rose ceremony time, and it is kinda clear that Kat is gonna go home. She’s not sure about things and Zach wants surety. We see super cute take of Kaity and Ariel? In the bathtub playing with bubbles. Previews suggest Zach doesn’t want sex and families are skeptical of this whole thing.
- Have you been shocked by anyone that he has sent home? (let’s talk about Greer here too). Any predictions?
- What do two people need to know about each other before getting engaged?
- Let’s talk about this no sex stuff.
- Kim wildcard-background old European people

- Question of the week: What is your stance on heart shaped valentines pizza?
- 2 minute recap
- Concepts to discuss:
- We made it 3 episodes before someone ratted out another contestant. Do you think it was warranted? This one was different because she ratted and left…like a deathbed confession.
- Do we see anyone who is having particularly good conversations that will lead to a deep romantic connection?
- So we got back to everyone’s favorite group date, something dangerous where folks could get hurt. Are there any benefits to this? Is there a sport that would actually give you some good information about potential mates? What sport would you be like…oh yeah, Imma win?
- Football is like love," says Zach. "It's extremely hard on your body and often leads to debilitating brain injuries." This line was really good. AI wrote it, yeah?

- Welcome to Bachademia! With only 4 short hours a week of BIP, we have a lot to cover today.
- But before we do, our question of the week: if you could be any type of bug what would you be?
- Rather than a huge recap, we are going to discuss some of our most memorable moments: (Other topics: Shanae/Genevieve friendship, what is Logan’s appeal, which contestant are most different than they seemed on original seasons…)
- Bill: There is this (I think) really cool vibe where it seems like the same sex contestants are really supporting each other. What is driving that?
- Kim: I don’t get the obsessions with Logan.
- Danielle: Michael. Is he a villain? Is he getting a good storyline from producers? Did he do Sierra dirty? Thoughts about him and Danielle.
- Bill - So in my psychology of relationships class we talk about the old saying “absence makes the heart grow fonder” it got put to the test….what do we think of the outcome? Is it true?
- Kim-Johnny being upset that Victoria has ‘a list’. Doesn’t everyone have a list?
- Danielle- Is the franchise losing its wholesome vibe? (lol) Let’s talk about the producers' whole switch-a-roo they played on the contestants? Good tv? Love will pass the test? Or psychological torture?
- Lessons learned/or deep thoughts from the season so far
- Bill: The power of the situation always wins…
- Kim: Watching the show with my aunt has been amazing. She thinks Andrew is a cutie, asks if the girls are eating enough, and is not a fan of Jacob.
- Danielle- Loyalty, friendship, and romance. What are the rules of the beach?

- 2 minute recap.
- Concept 1: Tino says he thought their engagement was over, Nicole says that was never the case. What are our thoughts?
- Did they do Tino dirty with the Aven thing?
- Concept 2: They hoodwinked us with the whole Gabby and her dude. We thought it was going to go south, but they ended up together. Thoughts on their story arc? Will they be together for a long time?
- Concept 3: What do we think about Zach as Bachelor?
- What was up with Jesse Palmer’s comment at the end, “we hear you bachelor nation and we are listening?”
- Wildcard: Zach, Clayton and Jesse are triplets. And honestly Sean Lowe who I met on Tuesday could be their brother. Why are they so boring with The Bachelor casting. I blame middle America.

- Welcome! We come to you ready to chat after only 4 hours of fantasy suites on the Bachelorette this week.
- Question: Where are you unwilling to sleep?
- Two minute recap: We are reminded, frequently, over the course of Monday and Tuesday night that Rachel and Gabby were hurt by Clayton during the fantasy suite episodes.
- First up, Erich and Gabby. They both declare love for each other. Not-a-metaphor of a date, they take a jump into the water. Gabby is scared then eventually jumps. They have a meaningful conversation while the television screen blacks out Gabby’s butt and then they go to the fantasy suite.
- Rachel chooses to start fantasy suites with Aven. Half of her date with Aven is actually an interview between Jesse and Tino about how much Tino can’t handle the idea of Rachel with anyone else. And I guess he should be worried because after the fantasy suite rachel says Aven is the “full package” Twice.
- Next we watch Tino and Rachel. They basically avoid talking about the whole his parents situation until dinner. Then he’s like, nah they like you and if we get engaged they will come around. Somehow Rachel’s like that’ll do. Then Tino says I love you and Rachel says I love you too (WHAT!) and they go to their hotel room.
- Gabby and Jonny’s day is short. They have fun then Jonny’s like yeah, I’m not really ready to settle down. Gabby walks away to think. Then they break up. Then we see glimpses of Jason saying about the same thing as Jonny. Hold on Gabby…
- Then Erich comes in and not knowing that this whole thing is totally unrolling in his favor, he has to go and say i dont know how I feel about you sleeping with other people. Then they pause the episdoe for Tuesday
- Night two starts with Gabby and Erich on the bridge. Their conversation ends awkwardly.
- Jason and Gabby. They go on a date and it seems to be going well. But Gabby feels like she’s grasping for something that isn’t there and Jason– like what is he doing. Finally he comes clean and explains that he’s not ready for an engagement. Gabby tries hard to make it about the show and him being quiet. They go to the fantasy suite and then wake up in separate rooms. Eventually I guess he realized that he just doesn’t want to relationship with Gabby.
- Rachel and Zach. They are super nerdy together and boring. So boring. They go to fantasy suites. It is awkward. Like what happened there. Zach says that she grilled him about being ready and then kept questioning his age.
- We see Rachel and her guys getting ready for the rose ceremony. Zach is mad. He pulls her aside. WHAT WILL HAPPEN!
- Gabby tells Erich he’s the only one and they say I love you.
- Then the weirdest most annoying ending. They just stop the episode and Jesse is all like you need to prepare yourself. Good god. Just shorten the episodes. Get this done in one hour and spare us all.
- Concept 1: Was Erich testing Gabby? He knew what he signed up for, are his concerns justified?
- Concept 2: Jesse Palmer: Let’s talk about his listening and advice giving skills.
- Concept 3: Leading people on. Did Jason lead on Gabby? Did Rachel lead on Zach?
- Host 2 wildcard topic: I want one of the guys to decide they want to marry the other principle (so Gabby’s guy decides he wants Rachel/Nicole or vice versa). Would he be in the wrong? In the real world, when has a significant other of a friend crossed from “I could date them” to “I am crossing a friend line?”

- Welcome! Our school year started and It’s hooooometowns!
- Question: The episode begins in NOLA! What is your must have food item from NOLA?
- Two minute recap: Gabby and Jason go to NOLA. He introduces Gabby to his dad who is adorable and weepy and I love him. Then he meets more of his family and they love Gabby. Then Jason drops that he can’t see himself getting engaged. The memes are coming from him. Normal? Honest? Dude, do you know what show you are on? Side note: I love how his parents are like, get engaged and later on we get, well, the opposite. Next up is Rachel and Zach in Anaheim. All this plane stuff: yo, it is so weird to me that there all these work themes dates. Its like when you dream about working. No. This is a date, I’m not clocking in. Zach’s family is a little more reserved about the Bachelorette process and asked some pointed questions. Then they watch videos of Zach and Rachel making out. Weird right? Next in line is Gabby and Jonny in Palm Beach. Y’all I’ve lived in all these placesJonny’s family is pretty; they have a white couch- which I apparently think makes you rich. They like Gabby. And, of course, Jonny isn’t ready for a proposal either. His dad says, go for it. Poor Gabby gets I’m not ready for a proposal and people are declaring their love for Nicole. What gives?. So Gabby and Johnny makeout on a sunset cruise. Wasn’t he just living on a cruise ship? Next, Rachel and Tyler head to Wildwood, NJ. I’ve never lived here. Fun side note, they haven’t had a one-on-one yet. Tyler is hyped. He is playful. A kid on the raddest playground. But Rachel is “it is getting serious.” Tyler says he is in love. Rachel is like, whoah dawg I’m not sure i want to meet your family. Tyler has to tell his family on camera that he got dumped. Dang. These producers work hard. After that we need something happy, right? So here comes Gabby and Erich off to visit his terminal ill father. As an ICU nurse, Gabby handled things well but dang that is a big thing to walk into. Erich tells Gabby he is falling in love with her. Finally. Confession, his name is spelled stupid and so is his hair but I find him attractive. Hate me. The final hometown is Rachel and Tino. It should be perfect given their connection right? Nope his family is not on board with this. Yiikes. Rachel is obs upset. Can it work now with her beloved Tino!
- Concept 1: Do you think you would be a “support whatever decision you make” parent or a “this is big and this show is weird, run!” parent? Does the approach family’s take matter?
- Concept 2: What to do when someone says “I love you” and you just ain’t there.
- Concept 3: Whoa did you see that preview? No Gabby. What are your predictions?

- Gabby seems at crossroads on if she wants to have children. Obviously, dating Nate would mean she would have a bonus child to start. What do we think about having to make that decision early on? Do you need to know right away, can you wait and decide as you keep going?
- Tino really seemed to think he deserved the rose for his performance. Lets on pack that.
- Did he?
- Does anyone deserve anything because they do something on a date?
- What is the one thing someone could do on a date that would make you give them the rose and end the show?

- Question: what music orchestration would you want playing in the background while you share your childhood story/traumas
- Two minute recap: There was crying. There was a big shirtless guy slapping faces with fish. There was more crying. There was a beer bath. And there was freezing on the deck of a (ghost?) ship.
- Concept 1: When things get hard. Rachel tends to peace out when things are hard/challenging. Should you want to marry someone who, every time things get hard, she’s out?
- Concept 2: Is this the most realistic dating ever seen on the show? Because both have the option to change/reject. And Rachel is mad that Gabby kept Logan, but she did the same thing when she kept Hayden…

- Welcome! It is August, which is a time of mourning for all who work in education. But for Bachedemia, August is hot and things are heating up on the season. But before we jump into this week’s episode..
- Question: If you were a food, what type of food would you be?
- Two minute recap: They foreshadow troubles with Hayden. He claims Gabby called herself rough around the edges so it was fair game for him to say the same. Idiot! They learn they are going to Paris and I guess staying on a cruise ship once they arrive. At first I was like, omg are they trying to save money and making them go overseas on a boat. Woof. Once they arrive they get one on ones: Jason/
Gabby and Tino/Rachel. They make crepes and try on barets and Americans are once again assholes for how we stereotype other countries. Dates seem to be going along well enough, they bring Gabby and Rachel together to swoon and then move to the serious evening portion of the dates. Tino and Rachel discuss career and family goals. It is clear Rachel is ready to marry Tino. I think they are both boring. Gabby and Jason connect over difficult childhoods and their appreciation for therapy. We will get to this later. Gabby seems pretty into Jason. Next, they move onto the group date, which is technically for Gabby i think but they made it all about Rachel. We get a bachelor favorite: let’s have contestants fight for love. More on that later. Gabby give spencer the rrose. Snooze fest. Rachel feels ignored by her guys and comes unraveled. Meanwhile, Logan is losing it and realizes he’s really there for Gabby– which he has to know isn’t going to end well. But I guess after this episode we will need a new villain. Rachel tells the guys to step it up. Its awkward. So producers smoooth things out by having Rachel smell their armpits on the group date the next day. Good lord. Tyler gets the rose and they connect over poetry. Bill’s favoorite. The cocktail party is all about Logan and Hayden. Hayden loves his dog rambo and it feels like he’s trying to guilt Rachel into keeping him because he sacrificed a lot to be here. He’s like a real loser. She sends him home. Logan accepts a rose. He’s in a heck of a position. So let’s talk about this disaster.
- Concept 1: “Fighting for love” What’s with violent metaphors and romance? Rachel and Tino are both excited and scared by how fast things are moving. Gabby and Jason connect over difficult childhoods and their appreciation for good therapy. They seriously geek out about “Inner child work.” This was a great boost for Bill’s counseling program! Go UNI counseling. (Gabby’s mom talks back. Unless you are saving this for the wildcard).
- Concept 2: “They weren’t paying attention to me!” Are Gabby and Rachel particularly fragile or is something else going on this season?
- Concept 3: Puppy Love, Hayden. How can a person be such an asshole but love his dog so much?

- Question: Do you feel older or younger than your age?
- Two minute recap:Imma recap the ish out of this one….
- Concept 1: So, Chris made a bold statement that he wouldn’t want to be with a bachelorette that banged multiple times during fantasy suites. A couple questions: 1). Is it too early to think about this? 2). Would he bang multiple bachelorettes? 3).
- Concept 2: The elephant in the room is that there are 2 Bachelorettes and this seems to be creating an existential crisis for all involved. Some guys are starting to declare their interest in one of the Bachelorettes, some guys are being cagey. Thoughts? Should they be declaring their intentions so early? Does this resemble the real world at all?
- Concept 3: Gabby and Nate had a great date, the internet loves Nate. One big reason is because he is a “girl dad.” 1). What is the draw of the “girl dad?” 2). Thoughts on becoming a bonus parent? To Gabby’s credit she seems thoughtful about it.

- Welcome! We’re baaaack! Bill, how have you been?
- Question: Do you have any fun summer rituals?
- Two minute recap: Two women, 32 men, one hot season of the bachelorette. Gabbi is an ICU nurse, former cheerleader, is hilarious and is totally going to upstage Nicole. Nicole is a pilot, sweet enough, but kinda boring in comparison. They both feel ready for this because they, and I quote, “know what they are looking for” but also when discussing their types were vague and contradictory. As per usual, 32 men enter and introduce themselves to the bachelorettes. It is a bit more awkward with two of them: group hug? Who should you make eye contact with? But we still got some bizarre entrances: no shoes, no shirt and on a horse, a meatball sub, baby chicks, and the awkward tho talented magician. After the introductions they are given time to introduce themselves to the bachelorettes. After realizing that 2 on ones is awkward and not intimate as well as realizing that twins are not a turn on, Gabbi and Nicole venture off to talk to the men on their own. They both complain that they aren’t making out enough but then finally get a first kiss. End of the night comes around, they both realize they have no idea how to handle the roses. Ultimately, they decide that the twins and the magician show no potential and awkwardly say thanks but bye.
- Concept 1: Winners and losers. Who gave you nope vibes? Who has potential?
- Jordan V. Race car driver
- Tino- Rachel is super into him, he gets her first impression rose. I think he looks like Blake HOrstmann and Tarick had a baby. I don’t get the appeal.
- James: Meatball guy.
- Erich: talked to them both
- Mario: kissed Gabbi and her first impression rose.
- Jordan H. Noise canceling headphones
- Quincy: celibate
- Ryan: Boston
- Jacob: shirtless horse guy with dumb mouth
- Others?
- Concept 2: Kissing. Mario and Gabbi’s kiss. Tino and Nicole’s kiss. Erich kisses Gabbi. Thoughts about Erich? Was he playing them both or doing what is called for in the situation? How much does kissing matter? They both gave a first impression rose to someone they kissed.
- Concept 3: Friendship and love competition: Will Gabbi and Rachel stay friends? This is the first time they might have to watch someone they are interested in smooch with someone else. Do you think this will create more drama or balance out the power between leads and the contestants?
- Host 2 wildcard topic: Let’s just stay on kissing. Why weren’t the dudes more into kissing? What are the economics of deciding whom to kiss?
- Lessons learned

- Question of the week: What would your pre-fantasy suite dream date involve?
- Recap:
- Women tell all: Jerry Spring-like trash. I don’t have the energy to recap it all. Best line: “You can go rot in Ohio.” Savage. DMs: Genevieve and Aaron, Shanae in Aaron’s DMs. Clayton’s brother in Teddi’s dms. Clayton takes a beating. Does he deserve it? Kim, what do you think was worth repeating from WTA?
- The Fantasy Suites: Rachel gets the first date. Clayton tells her he is in love with her. They shack up. He yells he loves her as he walks away. Gabby gets the second date. Clayton tells her he loves her. They shack up. He yells he loves he loves her as he walks away. Meanwhile Suzie panics because she’s worried that Clayton is shacking up and telling Rachel and Gabby that he loves them. After the sex wears off, Clayton reralizes he may have gotten himself in a pickle telling two women that he loves them and then shacking up. So what does he do? He takes Suzie to dinner and tells her he loves her. She’s like, ok. But do you love other people or have you had sex with Gabby or Rachel, because I think that is a deal breaker. Clayton’s turn to panic. He gets angry at Suzie and now we all hate Clayton. The End.

- Question: What is the worst date you’ve ever been on?
- Two minute recap: This episode begins with the worst date ever. It is the worst because it is a two-on-one with Genevieve and Shanae. Also, near as I can tell this is barely a date. They go on an awkward boat ride and then have an awkward picnic where he pulls each of them aside for a one-on-one conversation. I don’t understand why they had to go anywhere to do all this. They could have avoided a long, awkward car ride. Anyway, Genevieve confesses that opening up is hard and she’s been shut off but reaffirms that she is here for love. Shanae jumps right in with the accusations, telling Clayton that Genevieve is acting or being fake and then follows up by telling the producers how proud she is for crying on command. God, she’s the worst. Clayton almost falls for it and asks Genevieve if she’s an actress. Does he expect her to say yes? Something about this interaction triggers Clayton’s ability to read people and he steps away before coming back to send Shanae home. Everyone rejoices.
- We move onto the cocktail party before the rose ceremony. Sarah confesses her love to Clayton. Mara is getting jealous and her role as the next villain is starting to take shape. Rachel and Clayton need to get a room. Mara feeds Clayton a bite of food but then her time with him is interrupted. Mara is starting to unravel. The rose ceremony isn’t particularly surprising, Hunter and Marlena go home and the remaining crew jets off to Croatia. Teddi is gets a one-on-one in Croatia. Tedi reveals she’s a virgin. Clayton couldn’t tell from looking at her… WHAT? Teddi gets a rose. They announce a group date which reveals that Sarah is getting a second one-on-one. Mara doubles down on how being old makes her more ready for marriage and keeps referring to herself as Queen. At the group date, Mara tries hard by eating nasty food. Rachel tells Clayton she’s falling for him. He blushes. Gives Rachel the group date rose. Mara is mad. She feels slighted and decides to use her time with Clayton to tell him that he is doing everything wrong and to throw Sarah under the bus. Meanwhile, Suzi decides to surprise Clayton with a clocktower date. He loves it. By the way, the timing of all of this has me so confused. The next day, maybe? Sarah practically skips to her one-on-one that I think is just dinner…only to find out that she’s been accused of being young and not marriage material. She cries a lot. Clayton asks for time to think. Which is weird. Sarah feels very betrayed and spirals before pulling it together for her and Clayton to make up and she grabs her rose. On the way out, she kind of breaks out of the sweet role we’ve seen her in and the previews suggest that Sarah might be a villain after all.
- Concept 1: Shanae. She issues an IG statement where she suggested that was how they arranged the footage. Thoughts. Also, Shanae for the next Bachelorette?
- Concept 2: Virgins. Why are reality dating shows so obsessed with virgins? Can you tell a virgin from looking at them?

- What is the point?
- Does anyone win?
- Concept 2: Couples, career ambitions and being supportive
- This comes up a lot when couples have problems, what happens when one person wants to do something in their career and it is antithetical to the other person’s vision of the relationship?
- How do you resolve?
- Concept 3: Do you think Shanae’s pursuit of Clayton makes him more likely to choose her?
- Wildcard: Let’s talk a bit about the role of villains in dating shows. Ok. First, there is very little research on this topic. So if you are a Master’s student looking for a thesis project, get rolling. What we do know is that producers often create villains. There was a Time Magazine article in 2006 by JAMES PONIEWOZIK that revealed how reality tv fakes it. Frankenbiting, fake settings, misleading montages, the leading interview, and the overdub. How much do we think the producers play a role in making Shanae the villain? And what happens to villains when they carry their fake reputations into their real life post show? I’m interested in the characteristics of villains on dating shows and how that overlaps with villains in other genres or clashes.

- Question: What is something about your appearance that you like? And what is something quirky about other people’s appearances that you love?
- Two minute recap
- Concept 1: Cassidy and Trust. Clearly, Clayton is right to not trust Cassidy. That being said, should something like facetiming a friends with benefits be enough to break trust? Was her lying a deal breaker?
- Concept 2: Body image and Compulsory Self-Disclosure. First, let’s talk about the forced self-disclosure. Is this vulnerability? Do they need a professional therapist to facilitate this? How do we feel about this as a group activity? Next, What is body positivity? What is body neutrality? Does The Bachelor try to pass off objectification as body positivity?
- Concept 3: Bullies and shrimp. Let’s talk about cray Shanae. Did she deserve shade for eating all the shrimp? Was she snubbed? Does being snubbed make you bullied?

- Welcome to Bachademia and the final episode for this season! How are you doing D3?
- Question of the week: What is your guilty indulgence during break?
- Let’s get down to business - The episode starts with Brandon meeting Michelle’s parents. Spoiler Alert: Everyone loves Brandon. Michelle’s mom basically calls him perfect!” D3 what did you think of their conversation? Anything stick out?
- Honestly, I want something to talk about here, but it just went really well. Basically how you would hope meeting your future in-laws would go.
- Next up Nayte meets the parents. This doesn’t seem to go as well.
- He sort of says he doesn’t take love that seriously, but then says that was a mistake.
- Michelle’s family doesn’t seem sold. Thoughts on their reception? How much weight should your family’s opinion play in who you continue a relationship with?
- Do you think the producers were trying to make this seem worse than it was?
- Next are the final dates. Brandon again goes first. They go jet skiing, Brandon continues the trend of seeming really young and gives her his favorite hoodie… Then Michelle tells Brandon she is in love with him… Whoa!!!! I think we all thought Brandon would get his heart crushed but this is a wrinkle.
- Thoughts on this?
- Should you tell more than one person you love them? Like is that possible?
- Next up is Nayte - There is some shaman and some ceremony and basically Nayte still doesn’t really open up.
- During the night time Nayte finally says he loves Michelle, that seems to be enough…thoughts?
- Then the proposals happen - basically they walk down a lot of stairs she dumps Brandon and picks Nayte
- There is a sweet note from Brandon, but I think he has tapped out that trick...
- Poor Brandon has to re-ascend mount Olympus and do the drive of shame. Nayte proposes gets to drive into the sunset with 6 earrings, 2 nose rings, bracelets and 4 necklaces. Thoughts?
- After the final rose - First, I am pretty sure Twitter bullied the show into making the audience wear masks…what world do we live in?
- Brandon sits down first and basically says what you would expect (I want what is best for MIchelle, I was heart broken) but still seems happy. Michelle basically says she did love them both. I kind of thought the only interesting nugget was when Brandon was saying his openness was not really appreciated but, she worked so hard to get Nayte to open up. Fair assessment?
- Nayte comes out, I got a weird vibe from them together. Maybe I am off, but they seemed like they were really trying to demonstrate how much they were into each other. D3?
- Nayte is asked if he will relocate and he says, “for sure, bet..” Ok, I made some of that up. But he does say he will but won’t put a time frame on it. I am at odds with this. Danielle your thoughts?
- The producers give them money for a down payment on a house, I think is was 200k…which is a shi!t ton of money. Like that is a whole house in some places. Thoughts on this gesture?
- Then they publicly shame Clayton…this was weird. This just seemed kind of mean and Clayton just smiled and laughed through all of it…it is gonna be a wild season.
- Lessons learned from this season?
- Big announcement about co-host Kim.

-Welcome to Bachademia everyone! This week we have one of our favorite returning guests, MVK! MVK, what is the good word?
-Question of the week: What emoji is most like a real face you make?
The show starts out with Michelle talking to Kaitlyn about the guys. It seems like Michelle has more of a relationship with Kaitlyn than Tayshia? Anyone else feeling that?
-She basically says she has no issues with Brandon, has the most in common with Joe, and doesn’t say much about Nayte. But, the segment ends with Kaitlyn telling her to pay attention to those fears…. What do we think those fears are?
-A recurring theme is the dudes sitting on the couch pretending it doesn’t stress them out that Michelle is on dates with other guys. We have talked about this, but is it necessary? What are we getting out of these interactions?
-Brandon gets the first date. They ride horses and Brandon seems to be in a whole new world. He is unsure about horses and has never been out of the country. Michelle says he has everything she is looking for in a soulmate.
-First off thoughts on soulmates?
-Would you be in for this date?
-They go to dinner and affirm their affinity for each other. How are we feeling about their connection?
-They get fireworks and go to the fantasy suite, thoughts about their connection?
-Back to the couch, the dudes are freaking out, but playing it cool. Joe gets the next date card. They go ziplining and feed horses.
-Michelle seems to really be leaning into Joe as her “slice of home.” Does that make a good connection?
-Michelle says Joe is like a 1,000 piece puzzle and she likes puzzles - I want to make some witty statement and ask you all to talk about it, but I would just rather ask your opinion on that comparison?
-After the fantasy suite Joe says he could use more sleep (insert porn music here)...Full disclosure I thought Joe was the winner and we were biding our time. Thoughts?
-Back to the awkward men on couch segment…Interesting debate, would you rather go first, middle or last? Who has the advantage?
-Alright, Nayte gets the date and he is really leaning into the jewelry and confidence. They ride on a boat and Michelle seems to be going all in on Nayte and (in my opinion) he is giving some really vague answers in response. Case in point, Nayte, “You know I am crazy about you,,” What are your thoughts, cause lawrd knows I got opinions.?
-During the night date she asks if he wants to talk about anything and he is like, naw…I am good bro (these are my edits). Then she asks if he is ready to be married, engaged, fall in love? He says, “all 3..” I got a bad feeling ya’ll.
-They do the fantasy suite, scrogg, and she wakes up and says this is what a soulmate feels like…I think he is the front runner, but what are your thoughts about how this ends up?
-Rose ceremony…
-Brandon takes Michelle aside and gives her this really sweet statement about how much he cares about her and wants to be picked, but also wants her to be happy. Tears
-Michelle sends Joe home…gasp. I did not see this coming. Dish what are your thoughts?
-WhoA WHOA WHOA how does this end?
-Lessons learned?
-MVK shout outs?

- Welcome to Bachademia! This week we have a very special guest, taking a break from her finals, Annavay Ellingworth! Annavay, what should we know about you?
- Question of the week: If you could only eat one holiday food for the rest of your life what would it be and why?
- If you could only hang out with one of the men from “men tell all” who would it be?
- I’m gonna say it, the men tell all episodes often feel like fillers and it's always a downer week for me. But this time they kinda brought it. They start out the episode with the longest drama montage ever and I was reminded that this season has been a bit wild. What drama had you forgotten about that this brought back for you?
- Will and Peter. Will accuses Peter of only being on the show to promote his business. Peter explains that pizza is his livelihood and he needs to support his family. Will then let’s us know that Peter’s sister has been slipping into his DMs. Hot damn. Then they take us through a bunch of reviews left about Peter’s Pizza. This is followed by a bizarrely staged scene of a lawyer (?) serving something to Will.
- Ok. Let’s pause and work through this mess.
- Did someone say, rest in pizza. Y’all I can’t. This was terrible. Truly awful and I freaking looooved every minute of it. :)
- Next up is Ryan-- who I had forgotten about. They review his weird show prep and ask him about his intentions. His response is really good. Like he planned and memorized it kind of good. Suspicious.
- Martin. Y’all. I ain’t got time for Martin. Romeo says he looked up to Martin (oh no, not Romeo’s hair too) and we was really disappointed to learn the truth about him and Jamie (ewww yuck. Jamie is somehow worse than Martin). It comes out that Martin may have had a girlfriend before he came on the show. Like we needed anymore reasons to dislike him. Barf. Move on.
- Chris S. Basically he defends himself and holds tight. These men need to learn the art of apologizing. But the gold of this moment is Olu demands Chris tell him to his face that he has a low IQ. Then Olu steals the show with “You’re looking at Black excellence right here.” Y’all this good tv.
- Jamie. Jamie ain’t well y’all. He comes onto the show blowing kisses like his Princess Diana or something. Casey describes him as Tony Robbins and I spit out my drink. Basically, jamie doesn’t get to speak his piece because the men are done with his shit and aren’t having it. When he does speak, he is crafting all sorts of a story trying to cover his ass and still manages to be misogynistic. (the moment he tries to claim he was complimenting Michelle? Hellll no).
- Rick is adorable. Still has weird eyes but he is sweet and too good for reality tv. They follow him with my favorite sweetie, Rodney. But before they get there:
- Tayshia’s break up. This was all weird. Was this planned? Thoughts?
- Rodney is the sweet Rodney we’ve come to love. Kaitlyn hints that we will see Rodney in paradise. Dude, Rodney just doesn’t seem like paradise material. Sigh.
- So Michelle finally comes on. The men all gush about how wonderful she is (and she is) and then she confronts Jamie and puts him in his place.
- Then she lifts everyone up.
- Bloopers
- Slice appetite? Whaaaat? Will and Peter hug it out. And that’s the hope this show brings. If enemies like Will and Peter can work it out, surely the rest of us can too.
- Ok. Now let’s talk a bit about the Clayton season preview.
- Lessons learned.

- Welcome to Bachademia! We are both in Iowa this week, we both have solid internet connections and we both are ready for Thanksgiving break next week. D3, anything else we need to make sure they know we are ready for?
- Question of the week: If you had one veto for a city to move to, what city would be on the top of your list?
- On my list of cities I would totally move to - Minneapolis/St. Paul is where the crew is heading! And they start off on a 1on1. She picks Joe, isn’t this a little useless? He already knows M/SP. I digress, they throw out the first pitch and go to her high school. They play basketball.
- Michelle says Joe would have been her high school crush, is that a good thing?
- Joe disclose that he had a serious injury that derailed his basketball career and it led to anxiety and depression. He even contemplated suicide. They both cried and really seemed to bond over their shared athletic experience. Their connection seems way strong. Thoughts?
- Group date: The ultimate Viking! “Those dudes totally work at the Renaissance fare in Shakopee every fall” - Co-Host Kim. The dudes yell loud, threw a tree stump, ate fermented fish, and arm wrestled. D3 which of these events would you excel at? No surprise, Clayton (that young, strapping, square jawed football player) dominates the competition. So, they get some 1on1 time.
- They talk about their love of family...all I could think is how Clayton may just be a robot made of the mean of every country song ever made after 2000. Thoughts on their connection?
- Chris - was annoying and complained he didn’t get any time with Michelle. He is spiraling...I am here for it. Danielle, any insights into his downward trajectory?
- Nayte gets a 1on1 and meets Michelle’s friends on a boat on a lake. So, that is way Minnesota. They talk about not being able to be themselves in relationships and being in toxic relationships. Danielle, thoughts on how previous relationships impact current and future relationships? Any insights?
- Then Chris interrupts and warns Michelle not to make the wrong decisions and that she is being played. Michelle said she was caught off guard by Chris’s speech the other night. Chris said she was being “fake” to him during the group date. Michelle was at this point done and told Chris she didn’t need a man to speak for her and that it was over (America stands up and cheers) Farewell Chris, parting thoughts?
- Cocktail party - Michelle has positive interactions with Rick, Brandon, and Rodney
- She has a really awkward conversation with Martin. He goes off on Miami girls being high maintenance and Michelle challenges him. Danielle what are you seeing communication-wise here? Martin seemed to think it was a misunderstanding. He even went and told the guys as much.
- Roses go to: Rick Olu, Brandon and Rodney. Casey and Leroy go home.
- So who is left? Rick, Olu, Brandon, Rodney, Clayton, Nayte, Martin and Joe
- Who is your front runner? Who is your dark horse?
- Lessons learned?
- Next week Bill will be in Ireland, so it will be co-host Kim, Danielle and maybe another special guest. Shoutouts?

- Welcome to Bachademia. Bill is somewhere that is not Cedar Falls. Danielle is still in her cloffice. Danielle is now talking in 3rd person, so that’s how that’s going. We have a give away coming up soon.
- Question: If this semester was a color, what color would it be? Also, do you have a favorite travel snack?
- Last week, we said goodbye to Jamie which means there was an opening for the Bachelorette villain. Who will it be?
- After Martin impressed Michelle with his care and attention last week, she begins this week by inviting him on a one-on-one. When the date card is revealed, Olu lets us know that he’s surprised by this decision because Jamie and Martin were apparently close.
- At dinner the conversation continues. Martin talks a lot. He tells us that he’s blunt, working on his communication skills, and never cries. Somehow this works. Michelle says that she feels like Martin listens and applies what he’s learning and she gives him a rose. Whatevs folx.
- We move onto the group date: Will, Chris S., Casey, Chris G., Leroy, Rodney, Olu, Brandon, Clayton, Joe, Romeo, and Nayte. This let’s us know that Rick will get the next one-on-one. Nayte expresses disappointment and says that his one-on-one will come. Apparently those are drama starting words so hold onto them.
- The date is a slumber party. They all get silky pjs and there’s a risky business montage with Chris. It is moments like these, I really question my decision to watch this show. Like what am I doing with my life?
- The guys are having fun. Clayton is punching Olu in the stomach. I have no idea why. (Also, Clayton, still not interesting). They have a teddy bear fight, a not so interesting twist to the classic pillow fight. Michelle doesn’t feel paid attention to. After the winning team gets dosed (sp) with confetti no one pulls michelle aside.
- Except for Kaitlyn who notices and has a heart to heart with Michelle.
- At the cocktail party, Michelle expresses her disappointment in the men and explains that growing up she often felt overlooked and that is a sore spot for her. Olu responds empathetically and talks about his sisters experiences.
- Michelle tells Nayte she especially feels hurt by him and he apologizes and promises to do more to make her feel seen.
- The next day, Rick and Michelle have their one-on-one. They walk through the woods and find a wish box. They add their wishes and Rick talks about losing his father. They add a wish that reads, I wish to find love by having hard conversations. Thoughts?
- At dinner Rick opens up more about his upbringing. We learn that he found out his dad was cheating on his mom. He also let’s Michelle know that he is falling in love with her.
- So we enter the cocktail party and we still don’t have this episode’s villain. Enter Chris. Chris let’s the guys know that Michelle was really upset about being ignored. He’s ready to save the day. Also, he thinks Nayte is cocky.
- Side note: did you notice that she said she’d never had peanut m&ms before?
- Rose ceremony: Brandon, Leroy, Joe, Rodney, Clayton, Casey, Nayte, and Chris S. join Martin, Olu, and Rick
- Go home: Chris G., Romeo, and Will
- The big news: They are going to MN.
- Predictions?
- Lessons learned?

- Welcome to Bachademia! This week our guest is none-other than the wonderful Connie Hansen! It is November, somehow. Connie and Bill, how you doing?
- Question of the week: What is your call sign?
- The episode begins with the men attempting to figure out who told Michelle information that caused her to feel like the men were questioning her character.
- Kaitlyn drops off the first date card and Martin, LT, Olu, Spencer, Clayton, Nayte, Joe, Rick, Will, and Peter head to the Danger Zone. Basically it is a date that is also publicity for the new Top Gun movie. I’d complain but it ends up being a wild date that begins with popped collar, a little neck skin, and nicknames. Thoughts on their outfits? Which of their nicknames were your favorite? Lil Willy, Frosty, Doughboy.
- After a quick pushup contest. Anywho, Martin pulls Michelle aside to check in on her. Thoughts on Frosty’s move?
- After this, it is time to spin. They go on a G-Force stimulator, which I really wanted to do as a kid. Will is worried he’s gonna puke cuz duh and as he spins speaks to Michelle in Spanish. This is apparently a no no because Peter feels copied and this enrages him. Thoughts?
- Then they do some sort of American Gladiator like fighting. Clayton is big and strong and Will is declared winner of the Top Gun Olympics, earning alone time with Michelle. They get in a vintage car that is freakishly small, they makeout, and he gets a bomber jacket as a prize.
- They have a cocktail party. Clayton is getting some air time. He invites Michelle to spin around with him. It's cute. Michelle is leaning in for those kisses. Martin takes off his glasses to smooch. Thoughts on her connection with any of the guys?
- Meanwhile Peter and Will start fighting again. There are some sick zingers as they fight. Like “I change lives one slice at a time” Bill, do you have any favorite insults?
- Meanwhile, Rodney gets the next one-on-one. Mollique loves his Rodney but does not think he has a shot with Michelle. Pretty sure he will get friend zoned? What do you think about this moment? Bill teach us about friend zoning!
- Rodney and Michelle’s date begins with a game of truth or dare and eating things blindfolded again. Then things heat up when Rodney has to strip down and run around the hotel. (What is going on with the Bachelor franchise’s budgets on these dates?) Thoughts on this part of the date?
- Group date number two: Jamie, Leroy, Chris G., Casey, Mollique, Chris S., Brandon, and Romeo. Jamie starts getting really weird. His confidence is extreme and he keeps talking about how he knows he gets the girl.
- The men write some poetry. Brandon’s is pretty good. Jamie goes rogue and tells some sort of parable that is maybe meant to warn the other men to back off. Did you understand any of this, Bill?
- Michelle performs a poem that expresses what it was like for her to grow up in Minnesota as the “token Black girl.” Let’s talk about this.
- Jamie is miffed that Brandon could possible compete with him and he talks some trash with a producer, clearly unaware he is on camera. Whoa dude. Whoa.
- Rick learns from Michelle that it was Jamie who lied about the guys being worried about Joe and her knowing each other before the show began. He shares this information with the guys. They confront Jamie and he attempts, unsuccessfully, to talk his way out of it.
- Michelle puts Jamie on the spot. He says, I was just trying to protect you and Michelle is not having it. Bye Jamie!
- Then a rose ceremony: Spence, Mollique, LT, and Peter go home. Any of these surprise you?
- Lessons learned.

-Welcome to Bachademia episode 2 season 5!. And this week we have one of our absolute favorite guests, Nicole Dick! That is right, our own version of Sister-Sister! Nicole, what has been going up since we last saw you.
-Alright, this week’s question: If you had to compete against a 5th grade in a test of knowledge, what subject would you most likely lose?
-Episode starts with pastries that go untouched and girl talk. Any thoughts on the girl talk? She said they seem genuine and authentic, would you agree?
-The first group date is on and poppin! We got Brandon, Romeo, Rick, PJ, Will, Olumide, Daniel, LT & Peter. And they have to compete against children!
-Were those kids actors?
-So, basically the guys are bad at math (expect for the Harvard Math man). They seem to be good at science (except for Peter isn’t baking chemistry), musical chairs (Peter was a try hard) and spelling. Will called Peter a narcissist.
-Which of those areas would be a dealbreaker for your partner to be at?
-On to the after party
-She got sparks for Brandon and kissed him, thoughts?
-Peter and Will started arguing/throwing poop at each other. Good look or bad look?
-Peter said the fight was out of character, do you think it is?
-Brandon J. gets the rose
-Jamie gets the individual date and they go to Joshua Tree and climb. Jamie talked about his family life. Jamie discloses that throughout his childhood his mother has pretty severe mental health issues. Jamie and his sister had to take care of his mother while going to school. Eventually Jamie’s mother passed away from suicide. Jamie disclosed his struggle and eventual healing from this tragedy. Michelle thanked him for being open and honest. She gives him a rose and says it couldn’t have gone better.
-A lot happened in that part of the episode. Any initial thoughts?
-What do we think about their connection?
-Second group date. No surprise, they play basketball. Also, no surprise Joe is really good (played for university of Minnesota) and Michelle digs it. Joe’s team loses, but he wins MVP and gets to go to the after party.
-First, I wish they would have played 5 vs 2 against the WNBA players. The WNBA players would have tooled the men. It would have been glorious.
-2nd Joe lets Michelle know a coach near and dear to him died. They kiss and she says sparks fly. Joe gets the group rose and predictably the dudes are mad.
-Do the dudes have a right to be mad?
-Any other guys stick out?
-Cocktail party! Jamie pulls Michelle aside to say the guys think she had something with Joe before the show. He also says it doesn’t matter to him, whatever…
-Michelle is really busted up about this. She even tells Tayshia that everyone is at a level playing field.
-She pulls the dudes together and tells them as much...bold! Thoughts on her direct strategy?
-Michelle does make a point to say that everyone assumes she is dating any man of color she is seen with in Minneapolis, thoughts on this?
-Jamie basically acts like he has no clue who said it. Thoughts on Jamie? Is he justified in being shady about his conversations with Michelle?
-Because the men can’t have nice things, the cocktail party is done and they will be punished with a rose ceremony...scene. Who is staying and who is going?
-Lessons learned?
-Nicole you get the last word! Shoutouts, deep thoughts, or humorous anecdotes?

- Welcome to Bachademia! We are starting a new season and we are pumped! I even wore dress clothes. How you feelin’ D3?
- Question of the week: What is something you can easily pay for, but you still resent paying for it?
- So, Michelle is the new Bachelorette! She is from the Minnesota and has a small connection to UNI. She played basketball for Bradley (team in our conference) and was recruited to play at UNI. One of our coaches gave his scouting report from her playing days and it sounds like she was explosive, fast, a really good defender, and needed to be pushed to her left hand when driving. Thoughts on her as the bachelorette?
- So, we got Tayshia and Katelyn back on hostesses. I think they seem way more comfortable. Are we excited for them? Anything big stick out?
- There was one part where they met the doods in their rooms and and went through their stuff. Elaine was not impressed with this. Was this too far? Would you feel a bit violated?

- Welcome to Bachademia! The BIP finale was this week. Bill, if you had to score this season of BIP on a scale of 1-10, what would you give it?
- Question of the week: Is a hotdog a sandwich? Defend your position.
- We are back at Prom and someone is crying. It’s Abigail and Noah has told her that she is not his person. The episode begins with Abigail explaining to Noah that she was going to tell him that she was falling in love with him. But Noah has made up his mind. They say their good-byes and leave the beach. This shocks everyone, sending them into a tisy. What if others are feeling the same?
- The day after prom is the rose ceremony and the pressure is on to make decisions about their relationships. Wells announces that the cocktail party is canceled and they jump right into the rose ceremony.
- Joe --> Serena
- Riley --> Maurissa
- Kenny --> Mari
- Thomas --> Becca
- James --> Anna
- Aaron --> Tia
- Ed --> Mykenna
- Chelsea and Natasha go home.
- The couples that remain will have to decide whether they will continue on to the fantasy suites. Caitlyn and Dean are brought in as the new hosts to help people navigate this difficult decision. Thoughts on Caitlyn and Dean being the hosts?
- So this is when things get awkward. Kenny and Mari break away first to make their fantasy suite decision. Kenny is worried about Mari missing out on all the life he’s experienced but she’s cool. They decide to go to the fantasy suite.
- Becca and Thomas. Thomas cries. Like seriously cries.
- Ed and Mykenna: This is so good and amazingly awkward.
- Anna and James: Anna is in. James only has eyes for Aaron.
- Aaron and Tia: Aaron is excited to leave with James, quick catches Tia. Tia laughs and is like, what the what.
- Riley and Maurissa: Riley plays like he’s got cold feet then is like gotcha. Maurissa nearly kills him. Its cute.
- Joe and Serena: They’re in. Serena says I love you. Its addorbs.
- Fantasy suites. Joe and Serena talk life after the show. Kenny and Mari are Kenny and Mari. Riley tells Maurissa that she is his Sunday morning and I wept like a baby.
- The food-sex fetish continues
- The next morning everyone seems good, except for Riley who is feeling nervous.
- Proposal day
- Kenny and Mari: My favorite is when he creaks as he gets down on one knee to propose.
- Riley and Maurissa: Will he propose? Yes. He will. I appreciate that whipped cream and toes was mentioned in the proposal.
- Joe and Serena: The producers are assholes and bring Kendall back on. She sort of is there to give them her blessing. I don’t know. I don’t get it. Joe has to walk it off. When Serena arrives, he explains what happens. Her response: Are you ok? Can we please talk about how that was the freaking perfect reaction. Joe proposes. She says yes.
- They do an awesome Update Montage on all the couples. I loved it. Surprising news: Abigail and Noah are back together despite the Dale rumors. They are in I love you territory now. Thomas and Becca are together. The funniest update was that Brendon and Piper are laying low. HAHAHA! The engaged couples are all still together.
- Lessons learned from this season of BIP.
- Ready for Bachelorette?

- Welcome to Bachadamia! This week, I”m a lucky duck because I get to talk about BIP with Bill and his super amazing wife Elaine- gerontologist, faculty athletics rep, and cycle instructor extraordinaire. What exciting things are happening in your life Elaine?
- What is the best/worst promposal you’ve either been part or, witness, or if you could promposal what would you do?
- This week’s THREE hour long episode of BIP began with things heating up between Ivan and Aaron over Chelsea. Going into this, I was team Ivan but wow did things take a turn for him.
- So we head to the rose ceremony. What will happen? Well, what we don’t predict is that Wells will pull Ivan aside because rules were broken. But what? What did Ivan do? Apparently Ivan was interested in Alexa from Peters season. He looked at some producers phone learned she was in the hotel they were at when they evacuated for the storm and paid her a visit.
- Ivan apologizes to the group before leaving.
- The ceremony continues. Roses were mostly predictable. Here are a few notable decisions made: Natasha gave her rose to Ed, sending Joe home. And then Tia chose James, sending Blake home. Demar also went home as Chelsea’s rose went to Aaron. Thoughts?
- The next day, Kenny and Mari start to teeter. Kenny says the passion just isn’t as strong. Mari says she is protecting her heart. A little later on Wells urgese Abigail to share with Noah how she is feeling. Apparently they both tend to hold back too.
- Gossip Girl Anna arrives with pheromones in tote. Bill, any research on this? Does this work? Tia is worried because Anna asks James on a date and Tia is like, ugh Anna is cute. Thoughts on Tia, Anna, James?
- James and Anna go on a date- again with food fun. They are rolled in cinnamon and sugar this time. I’m beginning to think a producer is a cannibal and this is one long story of Hanzel and Gretel and they are all being prepared to be eaten. Which might be the case because then the producers brought out snakes for their “real” massage? Do you see a connection between them? Any spark? How are these dates supposed to move a relationship along?
- MyKenna then shows up. She’s weird and wildly insecure. Everyone on the beach is taken and they tell her so-- except for Aaron. So she asks him out. He says he’s not in a good place and then MyKenna cries. Ed saves the day by going and asking MyKenna on a date. It takes a bit of persuading. Eventually they go on a date and natasha is left asking, uuuuuuh whhhaaaat?
- Ed and MyKenna’s date is blah. They roller skate and eat dinner with disco balls and then kiss.
- Back in BIP land, Serena and Joe talk about the future. Natasha freaks out. And Mari decides to address her and Kenny’s issues by bringing in a bruja-- a witch who cleanses energies.
- Noah tells Abigail he’s falling in love. She freezes. Noah panics.
- Then they all learn it is time to go to prom-- 80s themed prom. The amount of people unaware of the 80s makes me feel old. Promposals happen.
- Tia feels left out because everyone is coupled up but her. They announce Prom awards. Thoughts on any of these?
- Aaron pulls Tia aside. I think it might be a friend thing and he’s trying to cheer her up but then BAM they make out. This does cheer up Tia. But Chelsea is clearly pissed. She seems to think her and Aaron had strong feelings for each other. What the what, folx?
- Then Noah decides to finally say everything he is thinking right as Abigail is trying to muster the courage to tell Noah that she is falling for him too. Let’s debrief this whole mess.
- So predictions for the finale?
- Lessons learned?
- Shout outs, Elaine?

- Welcome, welcome, welcome to another fun filled week of Bachademia! Like Kendal bopping back into Joe’s life, the man, the myth, Danielle’s former student Parker Aden is back! Parker, what has been happening since we last spoke with you?
- If you had to have one body part amputated, what would it be? Explain your answer…
- The show starts off on a real dramatic note. Kendall sees Joe making out with Serena and gets in her feels (I think that is what the youths say). Her and Joe have a talk. She says she has feelings for Joe. Joe basically tells her that he wouldn’t have let her go if he knew it wasn’t over.
- Joe asks if she is over their relationship and she says it is not a good time to ask that. Is it a fair question knowing Joe is over it?
- Joe commits to “always being there for her” do you think people who are formerly deeply romantically involved can transition to friendship?
- How would you feel as a partner to someone who had that relationship?
- Serena and Joe have a really interesting moment where they talk through what happened. Thoughts on how they support each other?
- Enough of this emotional crap, bring on everyone’s favorite comedy duo, Demar and ED!!!!! Demar is way good looking and smooth. He takes Maurissa aside and Riley is scared. But, he picks Chelsea and Aaron is sweating. Ed picks Nathasha…. They body paint each other.
- Thoughts on the date?
- Aaron commented on how Demar is a mount of a man and that concerns him. I think this really shows how Aaron views the world and relationships.
- Ed and Natasha kiss….I don’t get it. Maybe Natasha is really lowering her standards….thoughts?
- Kenny and Mari eat Tacos off each other’s bodies. One they are smoking hot. Two, I still wouldn’t eat tacos off of either of them. Then they say they are falling in love and boink (that is the term I used in my youth).
- Thoughts on the date? Would you give it a whirl? Is there a food you would eat off someone?
- I am still not sold on Kenny and Mari’s connection. It seems very surface to me. Do you think their connection is possible to move past infatuation?
- Maurissa decides she needs more from Riley. They talk and Riley really shares a lot.
- What do you think about this moment of openness?
- They get evacuated, do they like separate the guys and girls like a junior high lock in?
- They come back and cocktail party! Tia needs to choose between James and Blake. James is all in. Blake is playing it cool...but Blake makes Tia’s vagina dance. The classic case of good guy versus hot guy. Tia approaches Blake and he seems unwilling to give her more.
- Thoughts on their argument? Does Blake owe her more? Blake threw some shade on twitter…
- How do you feel if you are James, is winner by default ok?
- Chelsea makes out with Ivan (YES). Union leader Aaron is mad. The episode ends with them squaring up to fight…
- Other funny happens:
- Joe playing the uke..but it was Connor’s song!
- Aaron said Ed’s legs were like Christmas hams...I am missing something. He looks like he has tiny legs…
- Noah and Abigail have a sweet little date, they seem to be thriving
- Lessons learned
- Parker take us out, shout outs, major statements?

- Welcome to this week’s episode of Bachademia! We have a very special guest, Nicole Dick...Danielle’s sister! Nicole what should we know about you??
- If you had to spend one year on a deserted island with a contest from this season of BiP who would it be and why? Show your work.
- The angry Mob continues to rage on the beach. Everyone is talking about how Brendan did Natasha. The group then gets Big Brother Joe to talk to Brendan.
- The tribunal sits down with Brendan and Pieper and begins the accusing. Brendan tries to start off with a really chill affable vibe, he makes excuses then he gets defense and accuses them of creating the rule book. He calls the women disgruntled females….
- First - who is in-charge of the by-laws committed on the island
- Second - thoughts on Brendan’s train of behavior? Does referring to women as “females” make ya’ll cringe as much as it makes me cringe?
- Pieper then tells everyone she was totally there to meet Brendan. I appreciate her honesty
- After the dust up, Pieper basically says she was totally there to get more followers, but she could have done it on her own. Bold statement
- Joe informs the Inquisition that the most they can do is tell them to leave and make them feel unwanted, basically what we all did to kids at our junior high school lunch table.
- Brendan and Pieper leave...
- Brendan’s parting words...I didn’t want to mislead anyone, I just intentionally withheld information...chef kiss.
- Riley and Maurissa eat whip cream off each other’s bodyparts. Twitter and Co-Host Kim lose their mind with the level of disgusting.
- Wells proclaims if you can eat whip cream off your partner’s toes, you can get married, I can find now research to confirm this.
- It strikes midnight and Tammy has a birthday. And much like Cinderella, at midnight Tammy’s magical night ends. Tammy tells she likes him, he says he has other interests. Tammy confess her love to him even calling him her best friend, Thomas goes emotional robot & just kind of is like...this sucks for you, Imma go kiss Becca.
- “I have horrible birthdays, last year I got COVID on my birthday and this is 10x worse..” Tammy
- Rose ceremony. Wells gives Nathasha (she gained 350K followers over the course of this debacle) a rose because she got screwed. Not Jessenia though???
- Riley & Maurissa, Serena & JOe, Ivan & Kendall, Noah & Abigail, Kenny & Mari, James & TIa, Thomas & Becca, & Aaron & Chelsea all couple up.
- Demi, Jessenia, Tammy and Deandra go home. Tammy eats a giant cupcake, Demi is confused why people don’t want her (Joe has an insightful comment about Demi)… Words for the departed?
- Blake enters the room. No one knows what season he was on...frankly I don’t think he was and the producers are Gaslighting us…
- One I love Tia pairing of correct anatomical words with quirky descriptors of what they are doing, 2- Thoughts on this pairing?
- Dr Joe enters the chat. He is as charming and quirky as we thought. Him and Natasha hit it off...but there is a catch. Brendan and Joe are in a platonic bromance.
- This date was going awesome, until Brendan came up (insert record screech)
- Joe kind of mumbles his way through the impact on the

- Welcome to Bachademia. This week we have a very special guest with us, Academic Advisor extraordinaire Heather Asmus. Heather, what do our listeners need to know bout you?
- Bill had knee surgery on Wednesday. High on drugs from his procedure he asked his nurse this brilliant question: Would you rather use a dating app that generated possible romantic partners using your Amazon purchases to connect you with people or your Netflix account? Spotify?
- TMonday night’s episode began with Kendall and Joe. The conversation reveals that their breakup was about location not how they feel about each other, Kendall still has feelings for Joe, and Kendall still doesn’t seem interested in living in Chicago?
- Bill does a little XC on Long Distance
- Mari would like to carry things on with Kenny and lets him know she messed up. He doesn’t turn her away but also doesn’t commit. In his confessional he admits he has feelings for her but doesn’t quite trust her.
- Demi is upset by this. And Tia. She let’s Kenny know she’s hurt he didn’t just choose her. Kenny is in a pickle, as Demi so accurately stated. Kenny makes it clear he’s gonna keep exploring things with Mari and Tia and Demi. So naturally, Demi asks Kenny to go to the boom boom room with her. CRINGE. Talk this out.
- Brenden tells Natasha he wouldn’t entertain anyone new if they showed up on the beach. Really subtle foreshadowing happening here. Enter Piper.
- Tuesday’s night’s episode began with Tituss Burgess arriving as host and announcing that a select few would be attending a VIP party. The people left behind are salty and some, I’m looking at you Maurissa, start crying.
- At the party, four new women show up but we really only see two: Chelsea and Alana. Alana immediately pulls Chris aside. Chris tells Jessenia he’ll BRB. WHAAAT? Chris apparently left his sense of right and wrong back at the beach, makes out with Alana and Jessenia walks in on it. He tries to kinda keep things cool with Jessenia by talking with her but then proceeds to super make out with Alana right in front of Jessenia-- like two feet from her.
- Mari and Kenny have the same conversation as last episode again. Mari-- I like you. Kenny- I’m scared. They make out. Demi is upset. "I just had a one night stand that doesn’t want anything to do with me." Ummm… isn’t that kinda of what a one night stand is. I kinda feel like Demi is using that she and Kenny had sex as leverage.
- Jessenia is rightfully feeling down. Kinda thought she was leaving the whole show and not just the party. But she is sad on the beach. The next day, Chris is also sad.
- Alana shows up and asserts in the most American way that she’s putting herself and what she wants first. She gets a date card and asks Chris out.
- Meanwhile Joe gets fired up and leads a coup. I didn’t see Joe as such a leader and yet here we are. BIP is full of surprises. He feels like Alana and Chris should go home. They aren’t here to find love.
- Chelsea asks Aaron on a date. They ride horses. While on their date, Becca gets a date card. She asks Thomas but first talks to Tammy. ( I love Becca… but whhhhhy Thomas). She and Thomas have a bland date.
- Tammy cries. Aaron is sure Thomas has bad intentions and is sad no one listens to him.
- Everyone hates Chris and Alana and force them off the beach. Chris leaves. Alana doesn’t want to leave but leaves and is mad about it. Chris goes to the wrong car.
- Next week’s preview seems to suggest things go poorly for old Brenden and Piper. People are licking peoples toes. Kendall is sad that Joe is moving on. Lil Jon shows up. I’m in for it all.
- Lessons learned?
- Heather, any shoutouts?

Bachelor in Paradise
Episode 4
- Welcome to Bachademia, the smartest Bachelor podcast on the internet. Today Bill and I are coming at you with some amazing BIP recaps, reflections, and real important insights. lol
- Question: You are kidnapped. You can only call on one person from BIP to come and rescue you. Who do you call and why?
- The episode begins with a reminder of where we left off last week: With Maurissa and Riley in the boom boom room.
- Chris and Chasen arrive. They perform some sort of bro welcoming ritual before descending on the beach. They have a date card. Chasen invites Deandra on a date and Chris invites Jessenia. Chasen’s appearance stirs something in Mari that sets in motion all sorts of disaster.
- So, Chris and Jessenia and Chasen and Deandra go on their double date-- which begins with an intimacy guru. Near as I can tell this date includes them breathing on each other and partner stretches. Both activities should not be performed with an audience, imo.
- Meanwhile, Mari tells Kenny that she wants the ability to go on dates with other guys who come onto the show. Kenny, reasonably, is a bit miffed by this. I love this quotation from Entertainment Weekly: "You cannot have your cake and eat it too," he [Kenny] grouses in his confessional. "And that's what a lot of people want to do — especially when they have the rose." Kenny may be 40, but he's not wrong.
- Sooooo Mari goes to Demi to process her exchange with Kenny. Demi says, “proposals aren’t tomorrow, we should all be dating each other.” (I would like to note how this is a shift in attitude given her recent tiff with Brenden). So, Demi makes out with Kenny. And by makeout I mean she eats his face off.
- In another corner of the beach, Connor is sporting his finest attire. Let’s take a moment to acknowledge how fantastic that outfit was. (best descriptions enter here: kimono convict--first time I thought Aaron was funny)r. Poor Connor has no idea what went down with Maurissa and Riley.
- Night 2 begins with Thomas and Aaron fighting. It is boring. Tammy cries because she didn’t mean to hurt anyone. I’m not buying it.
- There’s the bracelet vs. necklace competition between Chasen and Karl. It is all dumb, so I won’t talk about it much.
- Tre and Tahz break up. Both end up going home.
- We head to a rose ceremony. Lance says bye bye bye, but before he does SURPRISE Becca is a contestant. Thoughts on Becca joining the beach?
- The big shake up of the rose ceremony is that Deandre gives her rose to Ivan instead of Karl or Chasen. Becca gives her rose to Aaron.
- Enter Tia. She has a date card. She asks Kenny on a date. Mari is smug. Demi is slighted. Their date is topless/naked volleyball.
- After little screen time, we finally get to see what’s going on with Abigail and Noah and its not what I expected. Abigail is worried that things and too easy for them and wonders if they are just friends. This obviously is not what Noah wanted to hear but he does talk about it like an adult. It ends with Abigail crying and Noah walking alone on the beach.
- Enter Kendall, Joe’s ex-- and she’s here with a purpose. She walks right up to Joe and says, What’s up, butthead. OMG. What do you think will happen?
- Key takeaways/lessons?

-Welcome to week 2 of season 4 of Bachademia!!! This week we are bringing back Bachademia and UNI alumni Nicole Hackman!
-Question of the week: Would you rather lose the ability to lie or believe everything you’re told?
-Let’s address the elephant in the room, a metric ish ton of stuff happened over 4 hours of TV. So, we will likely not get to everything. So, now more than ever, if you have something you want us to talk about, send questions to our twitter @bachademia or email bachademia@gmail.com
-First off thank god, the intro is back and Demi is stirring the pot - she warned David Spade. She then talks to Kenny, Connor, and Brendan. She choses Brendan. They make out on the date and then Brendan says they should explore other options... Demi is mad.
-Then on the beach like an STI, the rumor that Brendan is seeing Piper is spreading. People seem mildly annoyed by this knowledge. Demi sits down with Brendan and he says him and Piper were seeing each other but not really…
-XC from Bill
-Meanwhile Box guy (James or whatever) and Victoria are cultivating a romance as spicy as celery. Tammy decides to stir the pot (Demi was crying) by telling everyone Victoria has a Nashville BF and she is trying to get him famous.
-Do we think this would work at all?
-Victoria denies she has a boyfriend and James calls her out. She confronts Tammy and Kelsey about telling James (and uses a whole bunch of therapy buzz words)
-Victoria leaves, good move?
-Other notables from the episode:
-Aaron makes out with Serena C and then Tammy steps in and goes late-night Cinemax. How will this play out?
-Demi demonstrates “sex eyes”...it’s a not from me. Ladies?
-Danielle does EC on Vocal Fry
-Who made it through the rose ceremony:
Ivan and Jessenia, Noah & Abigail, Joe &Serena P, Connor & Maurissa, Tre & Tahzjuan, Karl & Deandrea, Brendan & Natasha, Aaron & Tammy, Kenny & Mari, Demi & James.
-Serena C. Kelsey and the Goddess go home.
-A moment for David Spade.
-Episode Deux- who is the new host, Lance Bass (Justin Timberlake’s little brother or something. Several people seemed sad it wasn’t JT, but let’s be honest, they don’t have the budget for that.
-Enter Thomas…
-Initial Hot takes from the ladies - Thomas is Hot
-Initial hot takes from the men - Thomas is hot trash
-Thomas pulls each of the women aside and most of them seem to think he is pretty self-interested (specifically in his height)
-Thomas and Serena P. go on a date, they kiss and talk about why the dudes don’t like him.
-Enter Riley
-TaJ really wants to get with Riley...it doesn’t happen and Tre is happy. But, Taj is really disappointed. Tre seems put off, but they make up after they talk it out.
-Riley takes Maurissa on the date and she is into him…
Connor is not worried, but in another sense of the word he is really worried. S
-Serena and Thomas get back and Aaron has pulled together the five Burr-bros...to confront him.
-The guys (specifically Tre) accept, however Serena tells Taj what Thomas said about Tre, who tells Tre, and then Tre tells Thomas to go to hell (during recess).
-Mean while Riley and Maurissa are vibing, eat some disgusting stuff with Mini-JT, have dinner, and then go to the boom-boom room. Connor is supposedly not concerned…
-Awesome moments:
-Taj and the crab…
-Connor playing several songs so he at least gets the

- Welcome to the first season of Bachademia that covers Bachelor in Paradise and honestly, this is what we have been waiting for. So, to mark this momentous occasion we have brought back one of our favorite guests, Montana Smith! Question of the week? What components of a date would you most like to have happen on BiP (ie., some type of games, food tasting)?
- The show starts with David Spade, I will admit, I think Joe Dirt is one of the funniest movies ever.
- Where is the Intro music with the cast?
- So we get to meet the beginning people, I will say their name and you give me a thought about them:
- Abigail - Matt’s season
- Serna P - Matt’s Season
- Brendan - Claire and Tayshia
- Tahzjuan - Was baked alive on BiP
- Ivan - Tayshia and Claire
- Victoria - Matt’s season
- Mari - got booped with dildo
- Kenny - C&T
- Kelsey - Pete’s season and got the champaign facial
- Conor B - Katie’s season
- Jessenia - Matt’s season
- Joe - has been in everything
- Natashia - Peter
- Tammy - Peter
- Tre - Katie
- Aaron - Katie
- Noah - Tayshia
- Deandrea - Peter’s season
- Maurissa - Peter’s season
- James - Katie
- Serena -Matt’s season
- Karl - Katie
- Wells sets the vibe and lets everyone know that love can happen, there is always uneven numbers of men and women, and you go home if you don’t get a rose. The rest is totally between the contestants and the crabs..
- Thoughts on the overall vibe of the contestants? I saw something that said the women seemed there to hook up and the men seemed to be there to find a long-term relationship or date other men (looking at you Aaron and James)
- So, Abigail gets the first date card and pairs off with Noah, they talk and smash pinatas.
- Grocery store Joe is having a crisis. He said he was in the right head space to be on the show, thoughts? He has been eyeing Serena P. from the get go, but so has Ivan and every other guy. He eventually gets time with her and they talk about how old he is.
- Connor B. and Maurissa make out, thoughts on their connection?
- Tre and Tahz make out and Tahz says Tre kisses better than his uncle (insert break screech). What?
- Kenny and Mari make out…
- Jessenia and Ivan lock lips…
- Supposedly this is a record...what are we to make of all this necking? Will this create more or less drama?
- The next morning Demi shows up...as a reminder Demi was on a previous season and brought her then girlfriend. Obviously, having someone who is bisexual on the show adds a major wrench into the very rigid male and female pairings, predictions?
- Alright, so a couple wrap up questions:
- What couple will absolutely stay together and why?
- Who will bring the most drama and with whom will it be?
- Who do you want to see that hasn’t arrived?
- Lessons learned?
- Montana, you get the final word…

-Welcome to Bachadmia. We are at the end of another season of the Bachelorette and we have two very special guests with us today: Sue and Denell (Bill’s Moms!)
-Question of the week! What do you get bored of? And what could you never get bored of?
-The episode begins with a recap of Katie’s journey leading up to her argument with Greg, him leaving, and her questioning whether to stay. The next day, we see Blake and Justin waiting for a rose ceremony speculating about what happened to Greg. Enter Tayshia and Kaitlyn who let them know Greg left. Blake seems relieved at the news and smiles a bit. Justin seems much more worried. Katie seemed so upset over Greg leaving but by morning seems ready to proceed as if not much happened.
Katie and Blake go on a date. They play with paint filled water balloons and then head to the hottub. In the hottub Katie tells Blake (sort of) what happened between her and Greg. Basically, she says I really connected with Michael and he left. I really connected with Greg and he left.
-So Blake is feeling a little off because of the Greg thing but that doesn’t stop him from telling Katie he loves her. It is sweet but takes, like, fooooorever. And then Katie responds by saying “I effing love you too”. Ok. -So this feels like a lot after her holding out on Greg.
-So they go to the fantasy suite and apparently have a satiating night. As she chats with Kaityn about it the next morning, Kaitlyn’s like, “Ok, but remember how Justin is still here.”
-So she goes and breaks up with Justin.
-So Blake meets Katie’s family: her mom and her Aunt Lindsey. Her aunt gives Blake hell and it is sort of hilarious until you realize this is probably real life. She asks him why he flunked out of the other seasons. Makes a vibrator comment. She also asks some very real and important questions about their future plans and it turns out they really have no idea about the future.
-So Blake is super nervous, having some doubts about if engagement is really the best next step for their relationship (uh, duh) and forges along and picks out a ring. This poor man is stressed. (also, he is basically talking about proposing with his ex-- if you can call Tayshia that).
-So it is time to wrap things up. Katie professes her love for him. It is quite lovely. He rambles and you go back and forth between thinking he is proposes and then thinking nah. At one point, he says I may not be able to give you what you want today and you can tell that Katie is a bit disappointed but trying to be cool. And then boom! He gets down on one knee. We celebrate. Sort of.Cause it all feels very weird.
-So then we return to the ATR. They bring out Greg. He says pretty predictable things. He is glad she found love. She taught him a lot. He loved her. He’s glad she found her person. Then they bring Katie out and it is cold. Katie is piiiiissed. She accuses Greg of talking down to her, gaslighting her-- which she defines as making someone think it is their fault, abandoning her, acting. Whoa.
-After things with Greg wrap up, they bring out Blake to celebrate the happy couple. People on the internet were commenting on how they felt her affection for Greg felt forced and a bit aggressive. Others think their chemistry is undeniable.
-Can we pleeeeease talk about that BIP preview!! I’m so excited. OMG Demi. JOE! More aaron/Thomas drama. I can’t wait.
Lesson learned.
-Sue and Denelle-- Any shoutouts?

- Welcome! Today we have a special guest, UNI Alumni and human extraordinaire Katie Grassi.
- August is a weird month. As an academic it has the melancholy feel of the end of the summer. But it is also a fresh start. My kiddo, Harper, is starting kindergarten and we get to create back-to-school traditions. What were your favorite back to school traditions growing up?
- Speaking of fresh starts, Katie might need a fresh start after this week's episode. The episode begins with her hometown date with Blake. He “takes” her to Canada where they go to a cabin, take shots of maple syrup, ride a moose, and play street hockey.
- Justin’s hometown is next. It begins by us learning that his parents will not be coming because they do not support the show.
- Greg’s hometown begins with a ride on a tandem bike. She talks about how much fun they have together. They play basketball and he talks about his dad. He makes it rain again.
- Then things go South. They are having a heartfelt conversation in which Greg expresses his love for Katie. She responds with, “you seem sad.” Things get tense. She tells him he needs to trust their relationship and not give up on them. He’s like, I just expressed my love for you, you barely responded and now you think I’m giving up on you.
- So Greg goes to see her the next day. He tells Katie that he felt like he was really vulnerable but didn’t get anything in return. She apologizes but her apologies are enough for greg. Then Greg pretty much gaslights her.
- Was this gaslighting?
- History- the movie with the lightbulb
- He walks out. She cries and then follows him. He tells her he’s not happy and is leaving. She says if he leaves, she is going too.
- He leaves. She cries in the bathroom. Kaitlyn talks to Katie and she says she wants to go home.
- Preview to next week: Katie seems to go home. But then maybe goes back.
- Katie any shout outs? Last words?

- Guest: This week we have Dr. Melissa Dobosh as our guest. Melissa is an Associate Professor of Communication and Media. She specializes in how groups and teams work together as well as organizational relationships.
- Question of the week: If you were going to work really hard and qualify for an olympic sport in the winter or summer olympics, what do you think you could qualify in?
- So the show started with some real heartburn.
- Michael tells the producers he has told his son he is gone for work.
- Bill XC - Parenting and lying…
- Men Tell All - I am mad, I wanted home towns. Let’s do this by topic…
- Who is here for the right reasons?
- Connor - he says he asked former girlfriends if he is a bad kisser. They say you are great, sometimes two people just don’t kiss good together. 1). Would you tell someone they are a bad kisser? 2). It sounds to me like he is a bad kisser and his ex was trying to be kind…
- He then kisses an audience member that was supposedly random...this is BS and I will die on this hill.
- Danielle EC on the realness of reality tv
- Andrew is in the hot seat...was there anything interesting here?
- Michael, we have covered him, but some questions:
- Katie makes an entrance
- Everyone loves Katie and Katie loves everyone.
- Thomas zooms in, he still doesn’t seem to get why no one likes him. He makes an odd apology-ish statement. Katie also makes an apology-ish statement. Do you want to see him in paradise?
- Connor wants everyone to remember he can sing and play instruments, the song was cute...I still am not sold.
- Favorite blooper?
- Lessons learned?
- Dr. Dobosh you get the last word, what wisdom can you impart on us???

- Holidays are great opportunities to spend time with those you love, so are one-on-ones-- which is how this week’s episode began. Mike P and Brendan desperately want a one-on-one. Katie talks about how she is unsure if her one-on-ones should be used to grow the current relationships she has or to explore new ones. We get a bit of an insight into which way she leans when she invites Greg on the first one-on-one of the week.
- Greg date: Seattle themed. They toss a fish and do unspeakable things to poor oysters. Greg is like Eyor but an Eyor you kinda wanna make out with. They seem like a normal couple.
- Meanwhile, Michael video chats with his young son, James, while drinking a mimosa.
- The group date card is announced, indicating that Mike P. has the final one-on-one. This has Brendan Bangs upset. He decides to pay Katie a visit in her room. His intentions with this visit seemed really unclear to me.
- Andrew, Justin, Blake and Michael have their group date. It begins with vagina flower art painting???? Michael sculpts a butt. Andrew makes a dirty sushi picture. Justin is very serious about all this. And Blake’s picture is so obscene they black it all out. Thoughts?
- That evening, Blake makes it clear that he is NOT in love with Katie but them falling in love is effin’ inevitable. Thoughts?
- Bill’s XC on emophilia
- Justin shows Katie his impressive painting. We are reminded that he was her first kiss on the Bachelorette. Then they make out.
- In her convo with Michael, Katie says that if they’re meant to be together, then she’s confident that everything else will fall into place. She thinks all the time about what it would mean to become a stepmom and the life she pictures herself, Michael, and James having together is “such a dream.”
- Intensive Mothering EC Danielle
- Andrew talks about his football career and being in Austria. Btw- I completely forgot about his weird on again off again accent this week. She says they will work things out down the road if he is picked.
- Michael get the rose. You can tell Andrew is hurt it wasn’t him. The men are starting to show the wear and tear of the process a bit.
- Mike’s One-on-One with Cuddle Queen Jean. This date was doomed. It is very awkward. Then if it couldn’t get weirder, Mike starts comparing her cuddles to his mother’s. (Insert wide eyes). Then Katie cries and sends Mike home.
- Rose ceremony. All of the internet is surprised (except for bill) when Katie sends Andrew home. They have a heartbreaking breakup. Katie isn’t confident she made the right choice. The next morning, Andrew shows up at her door. He wanted to leave her smiling. They have a short conversation, he leaves and gives her a note on his way out. It reads, “If you change your mind, I’ll be waiting.” Katie chases after him. They hug. Then she asks him to stay and he’s like, “nah”. WHAT HAPPENED HERE? Oh yeah, and then they kiss and he leaves.
- Next week is hometowns. Katie hasn’t told anyone she loves them. Everyone is kinda freaking.
- Lessons learned.
- Megan, any shoutouts?

- Welcome to another week of Bachademia. This week we have the exceptionally capable Kim Hanna as our co-host. And we have my favorite person in the world, Professor of Gerontology and spin instructor to the stars, Dr. Elaine Eshbaugh.
- Question of the week: If you were trying to intimidate someone while eating, what would be the worst food to get your point across?
- The episode starts with the women talking about how hot the guys are, then they hatch a plan to challenge them to stop masturbating…
- Justin gets a one-on-one (O3)
- Group date!!!! Drag queens come out, Michael is excited to dress in drag (another reason to love Michael), but instead the guys are just supposed to insult
- At the cocktail party Katie tells the dudes to step-up and make a connection.
- Conor gets a O3 - Kaitlyn and Jason double date. This is like the most real life date the show has ever had! Also, Katie puts chips on her hotdog, I am here for it.
- Connor thinks the kiss was great...Katie did not and sends him home. Why didn’t Katie and Connor work out?
- The men are heartbroken by Connor’s exit
- Blake swoops in with a boombox, thoughts on Blake? Thoughts on this move?
- NO COCKTAIL PARTY?
- Who got a rose: Justin, Blake, Andrew, Greg, Michael A, Mike P, and Brendan.
- Who got sent home: Hunter, James, Aaron, Tre, and Connor earlier.
- Lesson learned from the episode?
- Elaine and Kim get the final word.

- Welcome to another week of Bachademia. This week we have a returning guest, Dr. Kristi Marchesani.
- Question of the week: What is your favorite summer foo
- Then Tayshia introduces Blake and the guys are not happy..
- The date - they ride horses, they agree they like to travel. What do we think about their chemistry?

- Danielle EC on gossip and gender.
- Hunter gets the rose, do we think sharing his family story helped him in this case?
- Andrew gets a one-on-one and Katie borrows Catwoman's outfit for the date.
- Cocktail Party
- The dress and the poll.
- Who got roses: Blake, Hunter, and Andrew S. are joined by Greg, Aaron, Michael, Connor the cat, James the box, Justin, Mike, Brendan (who the heck is Brendan?), and Tre
- Who went home: Andrew, Quartney, Josh
- Lesson learned from the episode?
- Kristi, shoutouts, final thoughts, words of wisdom?

- Welcome to Bachademia. Bill is on a wilderness adventure. He set up some creepy thing that lets people track him and last time I tried it, I got an error message, so I hope Bill didn’t get eaten by a bear. In his absence, we have the wonderful, the witty, co-host Kim Hanna !
- Question of the week: if you could ban any fashion trend, what would you ban?
- This episode was full of interesting fashion choices, from Katie’s sparkly plaid coat/dress to Brendon’s bangs. However, the episode began with a recap of the Thomas drama before swiftly moving us into the Truth of Dare group date.
- The evening portion of the group date: Truth.
- Tre/Andrew S feud.
- Blake M. enters the picture. Thoughts about all this?
- Thomas visits Katie. She says, “I’m talking.” Thomas says he was demonstrated?
- Cocktail party.
- Rose ceremony.
- Who went home? Thomas. Christian (boo! I liked him). Conor C. (who dat?) David (also who dat?)
- Who is still here that we don’t really know:
- Andrew M.
- Brenden Bangs
- Hunter
- James
- Justin
- Quartney
- Josh
- James
- Whose left we do know
- Greg
- Connor
- Mike
- Michael
- Blake
- Of these: who are your front runners?

- Special guest, making her second appearance on Bachademia: Aunt B, otherwise known as Briana McGeough, an assistant professor at the University of Kansas in the School of Social Welfare.
- Question of the week: If you were on the Bachelor/ette for the wrong reason, what would that reason be?
- So this episode starts with Karl’s accusation that men are there for the wrong reason. Katie decides to call the evening short and move right to the rose ceremony. She steps away for a moment. Greg checks on her. Karl air boxes. Again. The men unionize, i think. Someone said, “We have a responsibility as a unit to protect the Queen.” Like, folx, are we watching the Bachelor or Shadow and Bone. What show is this?
- Rose ceremony. Mike P. starts talking unsurprisingly about his duty to protect her. Then he very dramatically interrupts the rose ceremony to call Karl out--- as a unit.
- Who goes home? Karl, Kyle, John,
- Group date: The men are freaked out because she signed it “…” instead of heart Katie. Y’all. That’s some 7th grade level stuff.
- The story circle is led by Nick Veill. The prompt is to tell stories about things you are not so proud of.
- Katie discloses that she was sexually assaulted (TRIGGER WARNING, this content does contain conversations about sexual consent and assault ).
- Katie talks about how she has had to work to develop her sex positive viewpoint post assault. Briana can you tell us a little bit about sex positivity? Briana Extra Credit.
- Then we see the men sitting on workout mats back where they are staying, and Michael tells his story. This is an example of unprompted disclosure. Thoughts about this moment especially as contrasted to the story circle?
- Danielle EC: Storytelling, Identity, and Performative Vulnerability.
- The show moves back to the evening portion of the group date. Katie is wearing a very big suit jacket over her dress.
- Michael A. gets the date card.
- Aaron is still talking about Thomas. Normal reaction or a bit over the top?
- The men really seem united this season. The episode ends with the men confronting Thomas. Thomas admits that he has thought about becoming the Bachelor. Honest, dumb? His honesty isn’t the problem, it feels like he is using honesty in some sort of sketchy way. Nick Viall said something oddly insightful: “I don't’ think Thomas said anything wrong in the group, what he did wrong was he always talked to Katie about their relationship, not with Katie about their relationship.”
- Predictions about what happens next?
- Lessons learned this episode?
- Briana any shout outs? Last words?

- One word to describe this week’s episode?

- Final cocktail party….

- Welcome to Bachademia! On Monday, the Bachelorette premiered with Katie as the lead! We are excited for a wild season. We do not have a guest with us today, just Danielle and Bill here. It is summer. We are in summer mode-- which means we don’t have our shit together. But we are delightful and promise mildly witty commentary and a few academic-y facts for your listening pleasure.
- Question of the week? what is your go to ice cream flavor?
- Like a summer’s day, the episode begins hot. Not really, I just thought that seemed like a clever transition. The episode begins with Katie talking about being chosen to be the Bachelorette and she explains what she is looking for. Bill, did any of this stand out to you?
- They show a quick sneak peak of the guys and then we cut to Katie waiting for the men to pull up in the limo. Nothing happens and then Tashia and Kaitlyn sneak up on her. There are a few things to note here:
- Thomas is the first out of the limo. The show really shows more tame entrances first. We have Thomas, Aaron, Andrew, and David. All a bit blah.
- Then we get a little bit silly with Miachel who pretends to give Katie a family heirloom and then Tre who has balls in the back of his truck.
- Greg is next. They have what I think is a pretty awkward interaction, she says that he looks like one of her exes. Eeeeeeh?
- Then a bunch of boring entries: John, Garett, Austin, Marty, Landon, Karl, Josh,
- Andrew came in an old car and then faked an accent that he claims is his alter ego.
- Brandon came in on a moped. I can’t get over his entire vibe. That hair is a mood.
- So the entrances start getting weird here: Kyle pulls out his underwear or something, Hunter appropriately given his name has a fish. Jeff has his camper. Marcus boring. Cody brings in a blow up doll.
- Justin and Christian come in with the sex puns.. Justin being a painter talks about strokin it, Christian wants her to rub one out or something about a genie. Quartney has a whole speech memorized with sex puns.
- Cat boy. Connor is dressed as a cat. The other men throw him shade.
- So after all the limo entrances (btw- we still have the dude in a box/present. I still don’t get this) Katie goes in and welcomes the men. I felt like her speech compared to others, namely Matt’s was very different. In fact, it made me realize how not compatible her and Matt were.
- She mentions that the Bachelor process is a weird one (she believes in it; but it is weird). Is the Bachelor process super weird?
- Who stood out to you during the after party? We have Thomas who was super serious. Greg who was a bit bumbling but seems genuine. Tre is awesome but do they have a romantic connection? Justin, the painter, goes in for a kiss. Jeff, who totally has an Owen Wilson vibe, skeezes her out with his dirty camper.
- DRAMA. What happened between Arron and Connor? I did not get any of that but it left me not trusting Aaron.
- James is the box. Seriously what did he hope to accomplish with this. Also, I know people find him handsome but I think he looks suspicious.
- Who went home: Austin, Brandon, Gabriel (he had weird vibes man; he was the long hugger), Jeff, Landon, Marcus, and Marty. Were any of these surprises for you?
- It seems like this season will get intense
