In episode two we talk about Queer Eye, Pose, and queer representation in TV. Specifically, about how shows that mostly star and are written/produced by cis white people, like Queer Eye, get awards, while shows that center on- and off-camera on Black trans women get snubbed. We also chat about queer dating during a pandemic, which may be the most 2020 sentence of all! Vito talks about his experience dating as an out and proud trans man. Vito and Sam both agree that cis woman need to get it together and stop being so transphobic. And of course, we wrap with a discussion about the Song of 2020: WAP. Welcome to Super Super Duper Queer with Sam and Vito.
On our first episode we talk about how weird Pride 2020 was. We also talk about queer representation, what needs to happen to advocate for trans lives and inclusive policies, and call on leaders in government and politics to hire more trans people. We discuss Black Lives Matter and police brutality. And because it’s Sam and Vito we pivot to politics and elections. Vito announces his candidacy for president.

About Sam
Samantha Jones is a lawyer, LGBTQ activist, and local elected official in Montgomery County, MD. She currently serves as a District 19 Representative on the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee, where she focuses on increasing Democratic voter turnout and supporting local progressive activists. Samantha also serves as the President of the LGBTQ Democrats of Montgomery County, as a Member of the Montgomery County Committee Against Hate/Violence, and as the President of the Northwood-Four Corners Civic Association. Originally from Fort Worth, TX, Samantha received her B.A. from Baylor University in Waco, TX and her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law in Washington, DC. About Vito
Vito Anastasia is a Business Intelligence Analyst, a trans organizer, and local journalist in Montgomery County, MD. Originally from Olean, NY, Vito has lived in several different parts of the United States. Most of his time is spent doing political advocacy work at the County and State level and running MoCo Local, a hyperlocal news site that focuses on creating greater engagement between residents and the County.
