The early Christians showed their unity and love for one another by selling their possessions, and dividing the proceeds among all as anyone had need. Barnabas is especially noted.
After being threatened and released, Peter and John return to their own where they give time to prayer, and are strengthened by God to continue their appointed ministry despite the opposition.
Peter and John are put in custody by the rulers of the Jews and questioned the next day concerning their preaching. They are commanded not to preach in the name of Jesus anymore, and are threatened. The apostles boldly assert their intent to continue doing what they had just been prohibited from doing, and they are released.
After healing the lame man a crowd gathers and Peter preaches the second recorded gospel sermon.
The Jews on Pentecost react to Peter's recorded gospel preaching of Jesus crucified, resurrected, and made Lord and Christ. The conditions of salvation and entrance into the kingdom are given, and the Lord adds about 3,000 to His church.
Having established that the events of Pentecost were a fulfillment of prophecy, Peter begins preaching Jesus to the Jews. Christ crucified, buried, resurrected, and seated on David's throne at the right hand of God.
The apostles receive the promise of the Holy Spirit in Jerusalem on Pentecost, hearing the apostles speak in different languages the crowd wonders what is occurring, and Peter explains it is the fulfillment of Joel's prophecy (Joel 2:28-32).
Jesus ascends into heaven, the disciples follow the Lord's commands and return to Jerusalem where they give time to prayer, and Matthias is chosen by the Lord as the replacement for Judas, His betrayer.
Luke's introduction and Jesus' instructions to the apostles concerning the need to remain in Jerusalem to receive the promise of the Father - the Holy Spirit.
