Darin has a BFA with an emphasis in graphic design. He is a very diverse artist and nurtures several styles. He has been creating typography drawings and paintings for several years. From these sketches he has produced typography books that can be used as journals and for doodling or coloring the pages. Some of his designs are even making their way onto clothing. His interest in geometrics and his background in graphic design led him to experiment with images using the letters of the alphabet. We wrap up the interview with one of Darin's favorite quotes, "If you feel impressed to do something, act on that impression." Darin lives in Salt Lake City, Utah and is devoted to his teen-age daughter. He can be reached at www.darinjones.com as well as other links on his website.

It is something above the everyday... it is created and exists above the everyday, non-utilitarian and thereby can take us, both in creating and observing it, to a place of value, of perception and ultimately awareness and so lifts us into an open area, one unbound by constricting definitions or detained by limited imaginations."

About the Podcast

"The Artist's Voice" empowers artists to tell their stories and talk about their art.  Not only is the podcast informative but also entertaining. This is an opportunity for both emerging and professsional artists to have a voice.  Furthermore, it gives listeners connections with artists they otherwise might not have.  Most people never have the experience of visiting an artist's studio.  Through the podcast listeners can indirectly make those connections.

After the initial launch, episodes will be posted weekly on Mondays.
