What up everyone! So grateful that you're here, reading this little bio and perhaps even using your precious time to listen to this podcast.
The Strength thru Vulnerability Podcast is all about sharing the difficult things on our hearts, allowing others to know that they're not alone in whatever they're going through.
And this is bigger than just a podcast. #StrengththruVulnerability is a movement to show the world that when we are vulnerable, we allow others to truly see US. We allow each other to truly see how human and connected we all are.
"It's the great mystery of human life that old grief passes gradually into quiet tender joy." - Fyodor Dostoevsky
“The world needs connection. So many of the problems are associated to a lack of connection. Sometimes the perils, the atrocities can come from a disconnection, be it race or religion, where we ‘other’ people… ‘Othering’ is disconnection.”
This week I am joined by Registered Clinical Counselor & Podcast Host, Robert Grant. In this episode you get to tune into our conversation about the power of listening, of teaching children social skills, the importance of boundaries and honesty, and even football and movies!

How do you talk to yourself? I know for me, often my self-talk defaults to negativity, which is scary because our self-talk influences the stories that we tell ourselves about ourselves. One of the most important things in all of our lives is our relationships. Whether that be our relationships with ourselves, our parents, a spouse, a friend, a coworker, etc.
How can we make these relationships better, deeper, more intimate?
We have to have the difficult conversations.
We have to talk about the insecurities, the fears, the VULNERABILITIES.
It's when we do that, that we truly open our heart and allow for the opportunity to be seen, heard, and accepted.
Which is what I believe nearly every human desires.
Despite the fear, if we don't open our hearts, we'll never have what we truly desire.
Sending love and peace to you this week.
Tommy

I am so grateful for all of you who take the time out of your day to listen to these podcasts. Hey everyone, thanks for listening! This episode was so fun to create because I got to interview my own dad! He is a wealth of knowledge and has the biggest heart, which I'm sure you all will be able to see when you listen to this episode. We talk about what Adverse Childhood Experiences (or ACEs) are, as well as how bullying can play a role in mental health issues and how the combination of both ACEs and bullying can be lethal. I hope you enjoy this episode, as it's filled with so much good information! So excited for you to listen. Please feel free to get in touch with me on social media! I love connecting with people. Whereas Buddy the Elf would say smiling is his favorite, I say connecting with you is my favorite <3 Here are some links: https://www.instagram.com/tommydahlborgjr/ https://www.facebook.com/tommy.dahlborg https://twitter.com/tommydahlborgjr https://www.linkedin.com/in/tommy-dahlborg-jr-52795b129/
Hey everyone, thanks for listening! So pumped to be giving this brief update early in the week. Strength thru Vulnerability epitomizes what I'm all about. The power in sharing your story, in sharing your struggles, is so real. Along with that, there's some more exciting news! This podcast has been picked up by the Mental Health News Radio Network! Such an honor, and I'm incredibly grateful. Take a look at their site below and the amazing podcasts on there, and please take a look at the article about Brene Brown and the power of vulnerability (and the lies of OCD) linked below too! Mental Health News Radio Network: https://www.mentalhealthnewsradionetwork.com/ Part 1 of Vulnerability article: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/beyond-the-doubt/201808/the-best-ted-talks-people-ocd-part-1 Part 4 (the part with that amazing quote, "The two most powerful words when we're in struggle: me too."): https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/beyond-the-doubt/201808/the-best-ted-talks-people-ocd-part-1 P.S. Upon recording this I had forgotten to brush myself up on Brene Brown's credentials! She's a PhD LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) and is a research professor at the University of Houston. Check out her incredible Ted Talk on the importance of vulnerability below (it has over 45 million views)! https://www.ted.com/talks/brene_brown_the_power_of_vulnerability?language=en Please feel free to reach out to me on social media!
