It seemed more like a stage name for Debbie Harry, but Blondie was an entire band. They settled on the name after Harry bleached her hair and consequently copped a barrage of ‘Hey, Blondie!’ catcalls around New York. It wasn’t until their 3rd studio album, Parallel Lines, that Blondie found themselves in the international spotlight after landing No. 1 and selling nearly 2 million copies... I mean, with six singles, including the iconic ‘Heart of Glass,’ how could it not? This week, Clairsy & Lisa Band-ter over Blondie.

To say it was a concept was an understatement - a band that would fuse classical, orchestral and rock music in a way that would 'pick up where the Beatles left off' before it moved into a more futuristic prog rock direction. It’s a lot. But it worked. And Australians loved it. This week, Clairsy & Lisa Band-ter over The Electric Light Orchestra.

After farewelling Split Enz in late 1984, Neil Finn, Paul Hester and Nick Seymour formed a new band, one which would later include Mark Hart, Matt Sherrod and Neil’s brother, Tim Finn. Their Split Enz connection meant the newly-formed Crowded House already had an Aussie and NZ fanbase which helped push them along in the mid-80s, which was to low-key success. It wasn’t until October 1986 where their single ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ went gangbusters, reaching number two on the US Billboard Hot 100. It remains their most commercially successful song. Between farewells, reunions and reformations, Crowded House have since sold over 15 million albums worldwide.

After a three-year hiatus (yep), Australia’s Got Talent is back and no one is more excited than everyone’s emotionally-involved dad, Shane Jacobson, who admitted there is one act this season which involved salt that was so 'terrifying' he said he’ll be talking about it for years to come.

‘Undressed’ is a new transformation TV series launching this week hosted by fashion decoder Kathryn Eisman, author of the best-selling, ‘How To Tell A Man By His Shoes’. It sounds totally superficial until Eisman accurately decoded Clairsy & Lisa’s personalities purely by what they were wearing. WTF.
'For a long time I was a bit embarrassed about my love of Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton', Myf told Clairsy & Lisa, whose new book 'Time Of My Life', is full of endearing and pinch-yourself anecdotes... but also, how music can shape your entire life, no matter what you're into. Our movie guy Ben O’Shea pulled a total of zero punches with this review of the latest Julia Roberts & George Clooney flick. He’s not against a good rom com, which should be, at the very least, ‘a pleasant piece of entertainment’. Then there’s this movie…
Clairsy & Lisa chat to the recently retired Dockers Legend David Mundy to recap what happened over the weekend. Clairsy has an issue with bins in parking lots and Lisa takes selfie taking ‘tourists’ to task. It was a case of strength to strength for this English outfit that formed in 1977 who played a style of rock influenced by punk, reggae, and jazz. What a combo, right? Their debut album reached No. 6 on the charts but their second album, Reggatta de Blanc, became the first of four consecutive No. 1 studio albums in the UK and Australia. It seems that every little thing The Police did was magic…

This week, Clairsy & Lisa brought their ‘A Team’ when they band-tered over Ed Sheeran.
... he also nearly got into a fight in the sleepy WA town of Hopetoun. Clearly it's been a big week.

Clairsy & Lisa join the space race today as they chat to Dr Sascha Schediwy from the International Space Centre to chat all things Artemis 1. We take your calls on what has to be the most ridiculous question of the week: ‘if one animal was made the size of a whale, which one would be the scariest?’ Elderly people and teens seem like the most unlikely of friends but that will be put to the test in a new show on the ABC, the guys chat to Fiona Goode from Old People’s Home for Teenagers.
The hit inter-generational show that started as 'Old People's Home For 4-Year-Olds' has a new season, this time as 'Old People’s Home for Teenagers' which kicks off tonight on the ABC... we spoke to one of the facilitators, Fiona Goode!

Their music has been described as hard rock, blues rock, and heavy metal, but they simply call it ‘rock and roll’. Which is fitting – they’re arguably the best example of what today we call classic rock. Thing is, Clairsy & Lisa have only 5 minutes to band-ter about AC/DC…

Our man of sport Ryan Daniels dropped by to discuss all of the happenings from across the weekend. Clairsy & Lisa asked what are the alternative names your kids have for things… and Lisa dishes all the dirt in The Shaw Report.
If anyone embodies the great American songbook, it’s Bruce Springsteen. Over the course of 20 studio albums, the singer, songwriter and muso blazed his own path with his own brand of heartland rock. He’s also got some of the most dedicated fans, many of whom criss-cross entire countries to catch multiple performances when he’s on tour.
As he was gearing up for his tour of regional WA, our Jon was waiting for a couple of other comedians to join him at the airport. While he was texting them, something very specific suddenly occurred to him...

MKR Judge and cravat connoisseur Matt Preston chats all things chilli, south west food and home cooking.

Urzila Carlson joins Clairsy & Lisa to see if they’ve been paying attention. Ryan Daniels talks a lot of sport, maths and possibilities. We also find out what drives you to volunteer in Perth.
They’re the British rock group who were among the most popular and influential bands of the 1960s and ’70s who rejected the cocky idealisation that so many bands indulged in (and still do). Instead, they delivered their themes of alienation, uncertainty and frustration with power chords...and howling feedback. Who are they? The Who, indeed.
The show was divided today as Clairsy & Lisa asked 'what do you love that everyone around you hates?' Our mate Ryan Daniels returns (and doesn't hold back) and our Friday funnyman Jon Pinder gives us the giggles.
Rhino is back! We had a look back on the very first derby in 1995... and, despite having 12 years to plan for it, why the Qatar World Cup is nothing but a 'shonky mess'.
We don’t know quite how we did it, but we managed to have a respectable chat about THAT photo of the Mötley Crüe drummer that went viral overnight…

Jack Johnson phones in from Hawaii, as you do, to chat to the guys about his up-coming show at Kings Park and Ben O’Shea says a resounding yep to Jordan Peele’s new sci-fi horror film, ‘Nope’.
Jordan Peele is known for horror. But with layers of drama, and fear, this latest movie feels completely different to anything you've seen. 'Even if I wanted to give you every spoiler, I don’t have the words to describe it. I’ve never seen CGI this imaginative,' O'Shea told Clairsy & Lisa.

And we also asked her about her new, more dramatic, role in 'After The Verdict': 'How could I turn down the opportunity to play a Polish lesbian butcher?'
He also made the weirdest admission for an Eagle: he checks notes wants to see a sea of purple at the derby this weekend. Um, wut.
As we went to air this morning, we learned the heartbreaking news that Olivia Newton-John had passed away at 73. Clairsy & Lisa fondly looked back at her life and her iconic music many of us grew up on…

Their live shows are played with more energy than bands half their age and their songs, described as ‘inventive and lyrically smart’, earned them a well-deserved place in the ARIA Hall of Fame. And honestly, the Aussie music landscape wouldn’t be the same without them. Join Clairsy & Lisa for some hot sake in our living room as we Band-ter over the Hoodoo Gurus.
