When people get to the stage of seeking help for the dissatisfaction or conflict in their marriage, they often wonder "Did I marry the wrong person?" or "Did I marry right or well?" These are common thoughts many share with me that they struggle with. So, how do you know if you have? Is there such a thing as 'the one' or the ‘right’ person?
As an entrepreneur or senior executive, the business you run is like your baby and you will do anything to make it a success. This can lead to conflict in the marriage, so avoid this I share my 8 tips for having a thriving business and relationship.
Is your relationship cluttered with negative thoughts or resentment? Do you love your partner but struggle to find time to make the relationship thrive? Has poor organization in your love life, caused you to hurt those you care most deeply for? Is past hurt preventing you from being close to your lover? If the answer is YES you are not alone. Most relationships suffer because of clutter - things we cannot control that occupy our minds and get in the way of our happiness or poor organization. I will share with you how to: 1. Let go of the past once and for all, so you can become close than ever before. 2. Increase the happiness, love and passion in your relationships - with just 15 minutes per day! 3.Motivate your partner to change, so you can grow together rather than apart 4. Stop negative thoughts, resentment and old hurt from ruining your connection and communication 5. 7 Secrets to saving a relationship to ensure you get the love life you REALLY want.
Resentment is a sense of unfairness - that you are not getting enough attention, consideration, affection, reward or appreciation that you deserve for aspects of your life and relationship. It's a mental process of repetitively replaying a feeling, and the events leading up to it, that angers us. It often starts off as a mild form of anger, but overtime build and builds until it reaches an alarming level. It can be far more destructive to health, romance, and happiness than anger though, because it stays with us for longer. Built up resentment can manifest itself in ill-health: headaches, stomach pains, depression, exhaustion, back pain, neck pain and insomnia. Over time, it also kills passion, love, closeness and even friendship. Be sure to listen to the end to get your free bonus, just listening will not help you transform your marriage. www.savemymarriageprogram.com/forgive

Are you sick and tired of your spouse’s behaviour you have no more to give? Are you at the end of your tether? Do you think an ultimatum is your only way out? We hear people giving ultimatums every day. “If you don’t stop doing X then Y will be the consequence.” However, more often than not these ultimatums are being issued by a parent to a child. This is a relationship where power and responsibility lie with the parent. It is the parent’s job to ensure that a child grows up knowing what is right and wrong, setting boundaries to ensure safety. The reasons for adults giving ultimatums within a marriage can be a reaction to many types of behaviours. Examples such as your partner having an affair, addiction to food, spending, pornography, alcoholism, drug abuse and obsessiveness about any other aspect of their life. These behaviours will have left you feeling hurt and resentful. It is understandable why you would feel that giving an ultimatum would be your only option. However it can often make things work in this episode I explain why and what you can do to turn this around.
It’s more than likely that you have been on the receiving end of silent treatment, or that you, yourself have used it on your spouse. I doubt that there are many relationships where this hasn’t occurred whether that is in a marriage, other close relationships with family or in the professional environment. This is not surprising, as research has found that it is one of the most commonly used ‘tools’ in a relationship. However, it can be very destructive and detrimental. The silent treatment can actually cause emotional and physical distress to you and your spouse and has even been linked to poor mental health. It is an incredibly damaging scenario for obvious reasons, if you are not communicating then you are not connecting and connection is key for a strong marriage. Learn how to break it now... What are your spouse's most annoying habits? Is it the way they talk, eat, clean up? Do they perhaps hum an annoying tune, snore or crack their knuckles? And when was the last time they did something that irritated you? Last week? Yesterday? An Hour Ago? One of the most annoying things about annoying habits is that they can be so small, but still drive you mad. Overtime you may find the list of annoying habits grow. It may not be that your spouse has added more irritating habits as years have gone by, but instead, a sign your "honeymoon period" is over. I'll give you insight on how to tackle this common problem. There are many reasons why marriages break down and it's rarely just one. Usually it's a culmination of events and behaviors, that stir up negative feelings. In my practice alcohol "issues" come up frequently. Occasionally it is when a spouse doesn't agree with their partners drinking for religious reasons, more often than not though it's about the amount someone drinks, how frequently they drink and their behavior whilst under the influence. So when does drinking become a problem in a marriage? Is it when the drinker recognizes they have a dependency? Is it when the non-drinker says they have a problem? Is it when the drinking is interfering with the relationship? We will discuss in this episode. Looking for more tips to improve your marriage? Get the FREE Report - 7 Secrets to Saving Your Marriage! Time can be a big source of conflict in relationships. When you get married “your time” also becomes “their time” and if you have children then you need to also schedule in “family time” and of course time for family chores and all the other errands you need to run. Many couples I speak to are feeling so busy and stressed by feeling pulled in multiple directions that the quality of the marriage is declining. Perhaps you can relate? Are you both so busy with work, the children and your own interests that you can go for days without having a real conversation? Do you now only discuss financials and children's activities? And what about your physical intimacy? Is bedtime now only for sleeping? Arguments over how time is spent, is fairly common in relationships in this episode I will share 5 good ways to ensure you and your marriage is protected. As a relationship counsellor who works online with couples all over the world, what I can say from my experience is that infidelity is by far the most common presenting issue I help couples recover— and transform their marriages—from. There are many reasons why people cheat. I believe that focusing on the factors contributing to extramarital affairs is futile; a bleak outlook doesn’t help a couple remain connected or move forward after the fact. As they say, prevention is better than cure, and below I’ve compiled a tried and tested list of critical steps to support you in affair-proofing your marriage. If an affair is already happening in your marriage, these steps can help put an end to a cheating spouse’s need to stray. Looking for more tips to improve your marriage? After the honeymoon period in a relationship is over, and our partner raises complaints about us, or does things we don't agree with or is somehow absent, we often start to make or draw slightly negative conclusions about them or the relationship. Typically it starts off as a thought one day, but if their actions continue to match it, we can start to think that way about the relationship or them. Negative thinking doesn't only affect you, it can kill connection, communication and passion, if the thought patterns become habitual.

When couples come to me saying that "we're only together for the children" I can't help but feel concerned for their future happiness and marriage and like to suggest an alternative plan.
You see when couples think, say and believe that there is nothing else but their children holding them together, they destroy their connection. As it implies they have willingly agreed to a life of misery, accepting something they wish they could avoid.
If you have begun to associate your spouse and the marriage, with being negative, unhappy and trapped, unfortunately that is what you are likely to experience and this will typically grow worse over time not get better unless you change something...

When will I stop feeling guilty? Is a question that comes up frequently in my private online sessions. Typically it's where after much deliberation and consideration someone has decided to leave their marriage and cannot shake off the breakup and divorce guilt.
Some worry about how their ex has taken the news, others are consumed with fears about the impact it will have on their children. Then there are those who feel guilty for causing pain, shame and disrespect to their parents and extended family.
Often they will say to me:

During relationship challenges and divorce it is common to either overeat or not eat and neither aids recovery. To change your life "All It Takes Is Good Habits" - I borrowed this line from Carol Holditch founder of Good Habits UAE, it’s the slogan for her business which has helped hundreds of men and women change their eating and lifestyle habits. Her philosophy is that switching to good habits should be easy, fun and for life. Curious about how she does that, I jumped at the opportunity to interview her and find out more... Listen to the exclusive interview in this episode.

What is Your Reason for Being Together? Do you have a Purpose for sharing a Life with one Another? Gottman in his book "The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work" that has sold over a million copies worldwide, states that in order to have a successful marriage we must create a shared meaning. I have found this extremely useful in bringing couples closer together and want to share this principle with you. Even if you are not in a relationship right now you may find it useful, as it helps to be clear on your values, vision, expectations, when considering potential partners. The more aware you are of what matters most to you, the more likely you will be able to attract the right match and quickly filter out those that won't make you happy long-term. What Do Men Need from Relationships? Well certainly the worst advice you can ever receive when it comes to meeting a man's needs is "treat them mean, keep them keen!" According to Dr Harley's research many of us fall in love with our partners partly because of the compliments they give us. Some of us just love to be told we are appreciated. attractive and admired for being a good worker, lover, parent etc. More men than women in his research had admiration as one of their top 5 needs. So when does drinking become a problem in a marriage? Is it when the drinker recognizes they have a dependency? Is it when the non-drinker says they have a problem? Is it when the drinking is interfering with the relationship? Alcohol consumption in my coaching has been linked to an increase in angry outbursts, arguments and aggression. It also blamed or used as an excuse for infidelity and being out of control. Others mention how drinking has caused; their sex life to dwindle, a lack of interest in family activities and depression. Is drinking yours or your spouses drinking interfering with your relationship? Or is someone close to you going through this? You may find this episode useful. I don’t believe “Constructive Criticism” works in close relationships, especially between husband and wife.
Criticism kill passion, love and closeness
Just the same way Self-Criticism diminishes self-esteem, confidence and overall happiness.
Even in business surveys and statistical data show that frequent Criticism is responsible for millions of employee sick days, job dissatisfaction and resignations. Which in turn contributes to a decrease in productivity and profits.
Ongoing Criticism between parents and children can lead to built up resentment, rebellion, rows, and long-term fall out.
Having seen the damaging affect frequent criticism has in a relationship and to a person, where an individual loses their sense of who they are and happiness. I wanted to share some insights and new ways of expressing complaints.

Perhaps you don’t believe in them but have been wanting to make some positive changes in 2016.
Either way, how are the changes going?
If you have failed to do what you planned, don’t give up!
Set-backs happen, just recommit to your goals and start again if you need to. Those who succeed keep going, they “get back on the horse” and try again.
Another powerful method to is to install the changes at the unconscious level using Hypnosis… here I interview Anna Yates, Hypnotherapist who runs a successful practice in Dubai.

Stuck with the same disempowering questions going round and round my in head: Why did they do that? Why me? Why now? What’s wrong with me? Will I ever be happy? Will I ever meet someone that loves me again? Will I survive financially? Then there are the questions about who, what and where you should be. Where the confusion over who you are and what makes you happy plays on your mind You get frustrated with yourself because you’re so unsure of what to do next. Sometimes you’re confused over whether the relationship ending was good or bad, confused over who you really are now, confused over what your place should be in the world. Since working with individuals over the years to heal from infidelity and multiple marriages, I have learnt what successful rebuilders do compared to those unsuccessful in repairing their relationships after affairs.
Whilst there is no denying that affairs can destroy love, relationships and self-confidence, they don’t have to. As long as the betrayer follows some crucial steps to help their spouse heal and together the couple look at ways to improve and strengthen their marriage.
in this episode I cover 6 things that are vital in recovery after affairs, my lessons from the 12 years I have been working with individuals with emotional distress and couples. I hope they are useful, from my heart to yours Nicola www.purepeacecoaching.com - Nicola Beer - International Relationship & Divorce Coach
During the training I learnt about the different types of relationship needs individuals have. I became aware that many individuals like I did, focused on giving their partner more of what they want and not what their partner needs. The problem with this was clear. When you do this you IGNORE your lover’s needs. Men and Women would find despite all their best efforts their partner failed to respond, reciprocate or appreciate. I noticed couples where it was obvious that they deeply loved and cared for one another just weren’t connecting. In training I became familiar with the work of many famous marriage counselors and their application of the 10 needs in marriage counseling. These 10 needs are pretty much universal. Typically Men’s top 5 needs are different to Women’s top 5. Although every couple has a unique blend of their needs and how they want the need to be met. In this episode discover Women’s top two needs and men’s top two needs and why this is important to know… Nicola Beer International Relationship & Divorce Coach www.purepeacecoaching.com
Lesson 1 of 7 – Emotional Honesty & Expression Is Key – Overcoming Gridlock - -
Before, I never use to say when I was upset or share my feelings.
Mainly because I didn’t know how to share my feelings and bring up topics. During studying more about relationships I realized that successful couples in marriages, express themselves and that a solid relationship is based on emotional honesty.
Working with couples, I recognized that not sharing is unhealthy as unresolved annoyances, anger, doubts, hurts, fester and leave you to build up resentment and frustration, which can lead to explosion, angry outbursts or further withdrawal and shut down.
The shut down and emotional dishonesty leaves a couple grid locked unable to solve problems which can lead to separate lives and affairs.
Here I explain what you can do if this is resonating with you and your partner.
It’s from our lessons we can get true peace. Peace with the past, peace in the now and peace for our futures.

The Love You Have is Determined By YOU Before… Before I became UK certified in grief and loss, studied relationship coaching and emotional healing techniques - I didn’t love myself enough, or really at all for that matter… I rarely took time for me, it was work, work, work or running round after others. Often I would find it hard to accept compliments and gifts. Somehow I felt I don’t deserve it… All of this is blocking love from coming in. During… the training I learnt that loving yourself is only the first step. The second step is growing and nurturing the love you have so it can flourish. The third is letting go of things in the way of you experiencing true love. Inside this episode you will get my 3 STEP PROCESS which have been described as Transformational. These 3 steps are part of my exclusive VIP program GET THE LOVE YOU WANT! and for the first time I am sharing them with you. Last week I received an email from a lady who asked me to warn others about loving too much. It was in response to my article loving through hard times, she felt she had done that too much. Which got me thinking can you really “love too much?”
Hear my opinion from working with hundreds of individuals and couples in their relationships. Also learn about the questions you should be really asking yourself if this comes up like;
1, Do you love, respect, value and care for yourself enough?
2, Are you / they loving or smothering?
3, Are you / they score-keeping?
Are you fixated on wanting to why your partner or ex did or didn’t do something?
Relentlessly questioning why your partner or ex does or doesn’t do something can be frustrating, draining and leaving you feeling confused, disappointed and angry…
I listen to individuals in my coaching frequently saying that they just don’t understand WHY their spouse did this or they cannot get WHY their ex would behave in such a vindictive way.
Being Fixated and STUCK in a spiral of never ending Why thoughts is a nightmare.
I know this, because I’ve been there…
In this episode you will learn some tips to help you let go of the why fixation into PEACE

This week I received an email from Marie, a lady in my 6 month coaching program who is devastated that her two teenagers don’t want to stay with her. This topic often comes up in my divorce coaching with parents questioning whether they should be concerned, worried their ex is bad mouthing them and whether to force their teenagers to stay or let them choose. Having worked with several teenagers during and after divorce, experiencing my parent’s divorce at 14 and feeling unwanted, depressed and lonely… It is important to distinguish between when a teenager is just being a teenager and when something deeper is bothering them and some attention or parent rebuilding needs to happen. Confidence plays an essential role in recovery after a breakup and divorce. When you feel confident you are more able to accept the past, learn from mistakes and make sound decisions about your future. Plus the more confident you feel, the more likely it is you will be able to remain calm when challenges do come up. Anxiety and fears are natural and normal following a breakup and divorce. The best weapon against fear and doubt is confidence, confidence in your ability to handle any situation that may present itself. If you have children, confidence becomes even more important. As children need to feel safe and secure. They need to be reassured that you and them will be okay and their needs will still be met. There is no doubt that work stress has become an increasing factor in marital dissatisfaction and even divorce. Today couples work on average a thousand more hours each year than people did thirty years ago. All the extra work and constantly checking work emails means that there is less time for talking, relaxing, eating and even sleeping. Difficult working environments and commuter stress make all too easy for arguments to erupt and a stress cycle develops… Stress at work causes stress at home and then the stress of neglecting the home and our health, affects work performance, which in turn causes further stress at work than is then brought back into the home and therefore relationship. In this episode I will list 10 helpful guidelines to help you make sure any work stress strengthens not ruins your relationship. Are you struggling to forgive your ex or current partner? Are you still carrying a grudge, feel resentment or anger towards them? In all romantic relationships there will be times where the one you love will hurt you. It could be something small, like a comment on the way you look, not calling when they said they would or forgetting important dates. Then there are bigger issues; infidelity, insulting your family, abusive or addictive behavior. When divorce begins one or both parties can become very spiteful. When you’re hurt, how do you respond? Can you let go or do you want revenge? There is no time table on forgiveness, but if you are holding a grudge for a long period of time recognize that you are hurting you. Whether you are in a relationship, separated or divorced research shows holding frustration, bitterness and resentment within you in is bad for you and your blood pressure. It also causes stress, anxiety and can reduce your overall life expectancy. Listen and learn one step to let it go. Introverts and Extroverts manage conflict in different ways. Whilst many introvert - extrovert couples are likely to know some of these differences already about their partner, in the heat of a debate or when a crisis occurs we tend to forget and misjudge each’ others behavior as a sign they don’t care or are being deliberately difficult.
The episode covers suggestions on what to do when you have the “I don’t want to talk about it” Introvert and the “Let’s get it all out in the open and talk through it” Extrovert? Whether you are hoping to improve your relationship or currently single and want to learn skills for the future understanding the differences between extroverts and introverts in conflict can be beneficial.

If the answer is yes then you have fallen into the trap of turning your love into a transaction. Transactions are for businesses and banks, not relationships.
I am guilty of this myself, but now stop this way of thinking because it gets you and your relationship no where. To some degree I think many of us think “I am doing this for you, what are you doing for me?” from time to time. But if you let this be the way your relationship works, then it becomes a balance book marriage - where you hope and try to even everything out.
This damages the relationship because when we give love to get something back and when we want the marriage to be equal: giving and getting, we are acting from a mentality of fear, scarcity and lack. We don’t think there is enough love to get or give, so we limit it. So in a way we are putting out there to the universe that there is not enough love for me, so I better limit what I give you. Does that make sense?
What’s are your spouse’s most annoying habits? Is it the way they talk, eat, sit, clean up? Do they perhaps hum an annoying tune or crack their knuckles? And when was the last time they did something that irritated you? Last week? Yesterday? An hour ago? One of the most annoying things about annoying habits is that they can be so small, but still drive you mad. Overtime you may find the list of annoying habits grow. It may not be that your spouse has added more irritating habits as years have gone by, but instead, a sign your “honeymoon period” is over. In this episode I share tips to tackle annoying habits so they don’t destroy your love and connection with one another. Attorney Mark B. Baer is recognized as a 'thought leader' in many areas of Family Law for his provocative and forward-thinking ideas on improving the way Family Law is handled. As a former litigator who advocates the use of mediation and collaboration whenever possible, Baer points out the inherent flaws that exist in litigating Family Law matters, then reveals more creative and less destructive approaches.
In the episode he talks about how you can protect your children from divorce through choosing the correct legal process to go through. He also shares his views on marriage utilizing his vast array of information and knowledge, well beyond the law itself.
Baer provides insight on how the dissolution of familial relationships, as typically practiced, leads to less-than-optimal results, both financially and emotionally. He highlights the difference between 'dispute resolution' and 'conflict resolution' to offer simple ways of achieving a better result for all parties involved, including the children.

John Dicey CEO of Allen Carr, Easyway Method to Quit talks about how addictions and emotional habits affect relationships.
Listen to his advice on how to approach addictions and emotional habits in a relationships, when and what to say.
John’s story: John was an 80 a day smoker and had tried many times to quit - using every method he could find; He attended a treatment center purely as a way of stopping his wife (then his girlfriend) hassling him about stopping smoking. He did a deal…he would attend the clinic - if it didn't work - she agreed not to hassle him about stopping smoking for at least 12 months. He thought it was a great deal and was convinced the session wouldn't work.
No-one was more surprised than him (or his wife) when he left the clinic a happy non-smoker. It saved their relationship. John felt so passionate about helping others he became trained as an Allen Carr's Easyway Therapist and has treated more than 30,000 smokers. John tells us how he has seen addictions impact relationships and how in times of difficultly such as divorce, people often try to fix their emotions with substances and find it hard to break the habit or become addicted.

Time can be a big source of conflict in relationships. When you get married “your time” also becomes “their time” and if you have children then you need to also schedule in “family time” Many couples I speak to are feeling so busy and stressed by feeling pulled in multiple directions that the quality of the marriage is declining.
Perhaps you can relate? Are you both so busy with work, the kids, and your own interests that you can go for days without having a real conversation? And bedtime? Is that's strictly for sleeping now?
Arguments over how time is spent, is fairly common in relationships. Listen to my 5 steps to healing your relationship, if time is an issue.
