Inferno #4
This week, the last week, the guys discuss Disney+’s Hawkeye finale as well as MCU’s latest banger, Spiderman: No Way Home. After that the guys dig into Inferno #4. First, as an individual issue, and then, what it meant to the event as a whole, and finally, Inferno as a larger part of Hickman’s run. Was the issue good? Is the payoff there for the set up? What might this story have looked like if Hickman had full access? After that, the guys recap the end of an era. What characters and books meant something, the ups, the downs, just all of it. Finally, a short send off as the guys discuss the long run of the podcast as a whole before signing off one final time.
Thank you to everyone that has listened over the years.

Inferno #3
This week the guys discuss their interest level in No Way Home’s upcoming release, Dane waxes poetic for way too long on his love of Disney+’s Hawkeye, Spiderman in video games, and brief thoughts on Destiny of X. It wouldn’t be the eXaMENation podcast if we didn’t talk about Hellions and boy do we have a reason to this episode as the series comes to a close and, surprise, they all love it. Do you like Cypher spying on the man? Emma being a badass? Tensions between Xavier and Erik? How about time traveling robots from future timelines? Come on, you’re listening to an X-Men podcast, you know you do. Well, Inferno has it all, plus a promise to burn it all down. If you don’t want spoilers, probably skip over Quintin’s prediction because it’s too good not to be right. As the podcast nears a close, Kelsey and Dane step into the Danger Room again. But, will they be successful in the penultron episode? Find out in this week’s episode!

Inferno #2
This week the guys discuss the No Way Home trailer, specifically the villains teased and who everyone wants to round out a presumed Sinister Six, Quintin’s love affair with the new Guardians of the Galaxy video game, why Adam Warlock is more than just that kid from We’re the Millers, and expectations of the new Lives and Deaths of Wolverine event. Inferno keeps things blazing, this week focusing on the mystery of how Mystique got Destiny back, what Xavier and Magneto plan to do about this new betrayal, and the newest member of the council rounding them back out to 12. Once all that’s done, things wrap up with some impromptu discussions of why solicits suck, how costume colors matter to show intentions, and maybe accidentally recorded a recruiting commercial for Orchis. Enjoy!

Inferno pulls out all the stops in an extra large issue. What has Orchis been up to? Will Mystique burn it all down? How will the Council fill vacancies in War Captains and Council members? X-Corp #5, X-Men #3, Onslaught Revelation #1
This week, the guys discuss what’s missing from What If’s Killmonger episode (and somehow Hellions comes up) and put out some hopes and predictions for next week’s Inferno debut. The first arc of X-Corp comes to a close with an action packed issue and more nazi hand holding powers. The X-Men face off with the High Evolutionary and only make it out after making a deal that will obviously come back to bite them in the future. Onslaught Revelation wraps up Way of X with some heavy, high concept...REVELATIONS!

This week, the guys discuss What If’s Marvel Zombies and where the show as a whole fits into the great MTVU, the new announcement of Insomniac’s Spider-Man and Wolverine video games, the newly released trailer for the Christmas spectacular Hawkeye series (warning: Dane’s excited), and the funeral pyre they are building with Hellion’s end in sight. Marauders takes a new step for the book itself, but a familiar step for Star Wars fans. Trial of Magneto continues to drop clues about what’s really going on. But are these clues or editorial mistakes? You’ll have to keep reading (and listening) to find out. Don’t let your attention phase out before Kelsey and Dane take on their own trials in the Danger Room!

Mikhail moves his plans for a new Russia forward while Beast finds himself in another tiny problem in this week’s issue of X-Force. Meanwhile, Excalibur escorts Doom through Otherworld as he searches for something he left with his ex, Morgan la Fey. Finally, can Kelsey and Dane bear the obstacles of the Danger Room? Wolverine #15
This week, the guys discuss episode 2 of What-If as T’Challa takes over the mantle of Star Lord and Thanos is just misunderstood, their thoughts on the new No Way Home teaser trailer, and where they land on the hype meter for Midnight Suns. Wolverine continues in top form as the hunt of Solem heats up and we learn a little more about the past of the adamantium skinned playboy. It’s the 100th episode. A milestone. An achievement. But all good things must come to an end as the guys discuss what the podcast has meant to them in the last two years and their plans to wrap things up in the coming months. But they’ve still got time for the Danger Room. Are Kelsey and Dane’s knowledge enough to overcome the Danger Room’s weapons? Find out in this week’s episode!

X-Corp #4, Marauders #23, Way of X #5, Trail of Magneto #1 This week, the guys discuss some alternate covers based on the early MCU movies and what those films mean to them, a potentially leaked first look at Moonknight and who is excited for that, a brief recap and discussion of episode one of Disney+’s ‘What If?’, and with a real burying of the lead, first take reactions to the news that Hickman will be leaving the X-Team. In the comics, how does X-Corp handle its first PR disaster and then how did it get even worse? Marauders uses a motley crew roster to handle some issues in the Krakoan pharmaceutical distribution (i.e. drug trade). Way of X keeps pushing the limits of the philosophical and moral questions that build Krakoa but things are coming to an action packed head. Finally, the new event Trial of Magneto kicks off with X-Factor’s initial investigation and the titular character suspect going rogue on the island nation.

Children of the Atom #6, X-Force #22 This week, the guys discuss Marvel’s new ‘What If?’, but only briefly, with no spoilers. That comes next week. Also on the docket is the state of Krakoa’s future with the recent announcement of Jonathan Hickamn’s newly announced 3 Worlds, 3 Moons and Substack. Children of the Atom wraps up by exploring what it means when one of their team is revealed as mutant and how that affects the dynamics of the team and their relationships. X-Force continues revealing what Xeno is up to in its quest to manipulate floronic life. The Danger Room is back and running, but it’s put up or shut up for Kelsey and Dane, there are no alternatives. Do they make it out alive? Find out this and more in this week’s episode!

X-Men #2, Hellions #14
In part two of a double feature, the guys discuss the upcoming Marvel What-If and a surprising amount of Suicide’s King Shark. In the Crucible each member defends a ‘lesser’ book and why they think it can rise up the ranks. X-Men picks up right where it left off with classic X-Men team stories, drawing on the past to create the present and power the future. Hellions continues to test the number of ways we can compliment the book. Just read it. If you’re not reading it, you’re making a mistake. Wolverine #14, S.W.O.R.D. #7, Cable #12
We’ve had technical difficulties (both personally and with our podcast services) so it is late. But the good news is, that means you guys are getting a double feature. This episode the guys discuss the full slate of upcoming Marvel TV shows and movies. What made the shows so far great? What are we most excited about in the next slate of TV shows? How about movies? What needs to happen to make these new properties really stick? Scarlett Johannsen sues Marvel for breach of contract regarding her incentives for a theatrical release and the fact that Black Widow was the first Marvel product to be streamed with its release. Stepping into the Crucible the guys discuss the most punchable face on Krakoa. Wolverine gets back to basics and reminds us why he is the best at what he does as he investigates mutant threats in Madripoor. S.W.O.R.D. takes place in space, but feels like it gets a little hijacked by the Annihilation tie-in story. Cable gets his swan song as the team takes on Stryfe one more, or last, or the first time (time travel is hard!). Where is the character of Cable when all of this is over and where can he go from here? Find out this and more in this week’s episode!

Marauders #22, New Mutants #20

In the Crucible the team is faced with the haunting reality that we haven’t had a good X-Men video game in over 15 years. Hellfire Club, sorry, Marauders, reveals a long ago plot of Emma’s proving she’s been betraying Shaw for a lot longer than Krakoa has been around. New Mutants continues good heartfelt stories about young mutants on the island. But how long can things stay wholesome with the Shadow King, murder, and the youthful bucking of authority? Children of the Atom #5, X-Force #21, Hellions #13, X-Men #1
This episode the guys discuss Loki episode 4 and what it means for Loki being in the Simpson Cinematic Universe, expectations for the upcoming Trial of Magneto and Inferno and which event comics in Marvel have done the best job of laying out and tying in issues. Children of the Atom is starting to wrap up with its final character focus issue and some good old fashion superhero action. X-Force continues dealing with its telephonic problems but things get a little more complicated when Xeno returns into the fold. Hellions continues the never ending hot streak as the team dynamic continues to evolve as they discover the Sinister who lead them into Arakko was not the Sinister who brought them out. Finally, Krakoa is a weird new world so it is nice when something feels like home. X-Men, much like its name, gets back to the classics of what makes mutant superheroes great. Wolverine #13, S.W.O.R.D. #6, Way of X #3, X-Factor #10, Cable #11
This episode the guys discuss Loki episodes 2 and 3 and its introduction of new take on a classic Asgardian character, some of the review information on the soon to be released Black Widow and whether or not Kelsey will watch it opening weekend (spoiler, he will, but semi-involuntarily), and if Marvel making small changes to its streaming content is an interesting or even good thing. Wolverine grows from the seeds planted by X-Force and blooms into a full force Terra Verde conflict at the gala (and other plant based puns). S.W.O.R.D. follows the intergalactic fallout and follow-up to the Planet Sized moves of the X-Men. He may be drunk, but that doesn’t stop Nightcrawler from asking the tough questions, but tough questions can lead to tough answers. Oh, and Onslaught. X-Factor is a book about a chosen family and solving mysteries and it wraps up with a chosen family solving some heavy mysteries and uncovering one more. The 80’s action movie that is Cable introduces a ‘new’ ‘old’ character as it ramps up to a finale we have to assume is going to be full of some quality one-liners. Where have we been (The Gala) and where are we going (The Trial of Magneto? Planet Sized X-Men brings the big global (well...bigger than global) scale change from mutants on the 616 universe. New Mutants drops emotional hammer after emotional hammer. Excalibur #21, X-Men #21, Children of the Atom #4 This episode the guys discuss Kelsey’s mostly spoiler free takes on episode one of Loki! Q and Dane haven’t seen it yet, so look for more in depth (and spoiler ridden) discussion next week. The gala continues first with Excalibur. Rictors is very grumpy but the team has bigger problems as Britain wants out of the alliance with Krakoa and ends that treaty with mutant blood. The X-Men are announced with a 4th wall breaking (5th wall breaking?) appearance by Kevin Feige. Children of the Atom continues giving each character the chance at perspective, this time hearing from Marvel Guy, Ben Thomas. Marauders #21, X-Force #20, Hellions #12
This episode the guys discuss next week's release of Loki, who’s going to watch and what’s expected and whether the all-star creative team for the new run of Venom is enough to excite a bunch of mostly X-readers. Marauder’s kicks off the much anticipated Hellfire Gala. While we get answers as to how the night starts and ends, what happens throughout the night is left to the remaining books to come. X-Force works security for the event but Beast has other, more nefarious plans. Does that sit well with the rest of Krakoa? Plus, a guest appearance from a fan favorite honorary mutant. Hellions is as Hellions does. What, did you expect them NOT to get drunk and crash the party with fun and violence? Wolverine is what Wolverine is. He’s got a sidekick and he’s fighting monsters. Is there more to Wolverine than that? That’s for you to decide. Way of X continues down Nightcralwers’ path of deep religious, psychological, and cultural questions. And while we may get even more questions before we really get answers, at least know we’ve got Legion! Marauders gives us a classic clip show where the team reminisces about their outgoing teammate, Storm, sharing stories of their favorite moments as they get ready for tomorrow’s gala. And while it may appear Arcade is in control, Hellions shows us that Sinister is always in charge. Ever the ‘mastermind’ Sinister sets up quite the double reverse twist to get his away, just like he planned it all along. In the Danger Room, Kelsey and Dane take it down to the wire. What does the future of our new Cable look like and what does that mean for his family on Krakoa? New Mutants continues to follow several threads. There is a quest through Otherworld, a classic and neo-classic mutant substory, and of course most importantly, Shadow King continuing to be the perfect mentor. X-Men #15, Excalibur #15, X of Swords: Destruction #1

Scott and Jean launch their plan to save their son and the rest of Krakoa. Excalibur features Saturnyne putting the final touches on her master plan. With the tournament virtually a tie, Krakoa and Arakko clash for the fate of the world. X of Swords: Destruction brings things to a close as Apocalypse risks it all to overcome Annihilation and save his wife and the X-Men swing the biggest sword they have to conclude X of Swords. Juggernaut continues his redemption arc by taking his lickings in court and in fights while we learn more of his recent backstory. X-Force shows us a continuing slew of contests for the battle between Krakoa and Arakko including the second round of the dance between Storm and Death. Excalibur gets things started with the first battle between Captain Britain and Isca the Unbeaten and we are introduced to Mr. Douglas “Cypher” Blood-Moon (yes, you read that right). X-Men #14, Marauders #14 This episode the guys discuss a little of the MCU’s TV slate, educate Dane on the glory that is Conan’s Savage Avengers, and discuss how big of a deal it is that Marvel Unlimited recently shifted to three month delay (as opposed to six). In X-Men, Apocalypse learns the truth of what happened to his wife after she led an army of mutants into Amenth, or at least the truth as Genesis tells it. Marauders finds the Swordbearers of Krakoa and the Swordbreakers of Arakko meet on the field of fine dining as a guest of Lady Saturnyne at the Starlight Citadel, before meeting on the field of battle. But...Wolverine has other plans. The Danger Room sets a record, is it the fastest solve or the most epic failure? Find out now!

X of Swords: Stasis #1 This episode the guys discuss the new Marvel-Made Chris Claremont Collection (and it’s price tag of two bills!), the return of Brett Booth to the X-Men art team and some controversy surrounding his name, and Oscar Issacs rumored/announced Moon Knight casting of Oscar Issac. This week comes with only one issue, but it is the titular event title, X of Swords: Stasis. Saturnyne calls the council of Otherworld but things don’t go to plan with mysterious silent forces, Horsemen representing a realm they’ve conquered and a space pirate sheriff looking to break the rules (and a note taking piggy!). While we’ve been learning about how our X-Men have been gathering swords, did we forget there is another team doing the same? Well, not after this week! As the Krakoan group arrives at the Starlight Citadel they are met with a personalized tarot card, but what does each one mean? Who is Annihilation? What's in the cards for the Danger Room tonight?

The Juggernaut continues a rampage of quality comics in his five part mini series. Excalibur tells a Braddock family story that seeks to foil some Saturnyne-centric plots and redefine what it means to be Captain Britain. Finally, X-Men continues X of Swords forward by looking back and filling in more gaps about Apocalypse and his family. In the Danger Room, Dane Kelsey axe questions but will they be successful?

Hellions features Sinister on his absolute cape based comical A-Game balanced by an Otherworld suicide mission. New Mutants deals with Cypher trying to balance his presence in the tournament prophecy as a non-fighter with the fact that he is so valuable to Krakoa as a translator and Magik tries to whip him into shape. Cable channels classic sci-fi horror vibes as the Summers family investigates the S.W.O.R.D space station, The Peak, for an interdimensional alien invasion. X-Factor carries on the X of Swords storyline and the guys have (very differing) opinions. How much of X-Factor shines through in a X of Swords crossover issue? What does resurrection mean with the revelation of how Otherworld affects the Krakoan backups? What does this mean for the stakes of death from a storytelling perspective? Finally, Dane and Kelsey bend over backwards to try and raise the bar for the Danger Room!

Juggernaut smashes on the scene with everything you could want out of an issue one. After months of waiting we finally have the start of X of Swords. It has political drama. It has family. It has betrayal. It has high-concept-barely-follow-along-but-love-it-anyway Hickman action. But most of all, it has SWORDS! Giant-Size: Storm #1, Excalibur #12, Hellions #4, X-Men #12 This week the guys discuss...the reveal of the NEW New Mutants roster moving forward (check the cover image below), Jonathan Majors getting cast for Ant-Man 3 (and how they want to see Kang the Conqueror used in the MCU), and theories on who the X of Swords traitor will be. Giant-Size Storm pulls from the previous Giant-Size and sets up for more stories in the future centered around The World and Storm’s techno-organic infection. Excalibur reveals Apocalypse’s all along plan as a set up and continuation of a big Krakoan storyline. Hellions wraps up an arc as they return from a successful mission, albeit with some members returning with more scars, physical and emotional, than they started with. X-Men serves as a prologue to X of Swords explaining everything that has happened since Krakoa was separated from its other half, Arakko. Beast does Beast things and makes some questionable decisions while Mikhal’s plan slowly unfolds. Kate Pryde returns, the X-Men celebrate and revenge is in the air. Cable #4, New Mutants #12, Wolverine #4

Cable and some time travel shenanigans leads to blowing up some Galdorians before dinner. Glob pours out his globby soul after some New Mutants finally confront the DOX “journalists.” And when it really comes down to it, can it be any better than the simplicity of Wolverine hunting vampires? Hellions #3, X-Factor #2, X-Men #11
This week the guys discuss what is in store for the X-Men with the upcoming X of Swords and gauging their excitement and the X-Men movie that has been upcoming for the last few years: New Mutants. The Island of Misfit Toys (get it?! Island!? Krakoa!?) known as the Hellions continue to confront Madelyne Pryor as Havok takes a dark and bloody turn. X-Factor follows the leads and finds themselves investigating a mutant murder in the Mojoverse. The titular X-Men comic transitions from Empyre to X of Swords with the epic legend of Magneto. In the Danger Room, things spiral out of control quickly.

Cable #3, Wolverine #4, Empyre: X-Men #4, Excalibur #11
This week the guys discuss DC’s Fan-Dome (whatever that is), the podcast throws its endorsement in for the not yet released (and only barely announced) Olivia Wilde directed super movie (which has to be Spider-Woman, right?), the announcement of yet another Wolverine comic: Black, White, and Blood, and the new Eternals title featuring the writing of Kieron Gillen. What is a comical and campy Cable book without the eventually inclusion of Deadpool? Wolverine isn’t making friends on the Quiet Council or in the human world and it seems like that, and Omega Red, is catching up with him. The Empyre storyline comes to a close for the X-Men, but what does any of it really mean for the X-Men moving forward? Captain Britain and the Excalibur team press forward to the Starlight Citadel despite the obstacles in the way. Finally, we won’t lie, this week’s Danger Room really sucks.

This week the guys discuss DC’s big downsizing, the announcement of the new big Marvel upcoming Phoenix event, and James Gunn’s ‘Big Five’ if he ever got a hold of the X-Men franchise. Plants v. Zombies spirals out of control in the Empyre: X-Men storyline as Magik finds herself as the Queen of the Damned...again! Katherine Pryde is laid to rest and finally phases her way back to the Marauders book. In X-Force, Colossus is ready to retire to a life of farming, but a Russian assault on Krakoa brings him back in. In this weeks comics, Fantomex comes back to The World, time and time again, showing us decade by decade snapshot of the Marvel Universe until it ties into our current Krakoa era storyline. In X-Men: Empyre, the Golden Girls of plantlife and War Captain Magik keep a big Plants v. Zombie joke fresh. Finally, KELSEY takes control of the danger room. Will he prove to be unstoppable?

Cable continues his fast start as quite the ladies man taking on Space Knights. X-Men steps into the world of Empyre as we get a glimpse into who Vulcan really is. Oh, and also margaritas. FINALLY, the era of multiple X issues a week is BACK! X-Men Fantastic Four has its problems, but boy or boy did Xavier flex on Reed Richards. Hellions delivers some quality dark humor to match so quality action. The New Mutants wrap up the nightmare sphere and add another mutant to their fold. For a man not known for his plans, Wolverine hatches an elaborate one to take on the pale girl and the Russians. Finally, we get some Plants v. Zombies action in the X-Men tie in to the Empyre event. Giant-Size: Magneto #1
This week the guys discuss some personal celebrations, the return of regular X-comics (and the death of others), the 20 year anniversary of the X-Men movie, and an update on the rumors of Giancarlo Esposito joining the MCU. Look at the issue, what political plans does Emma have in store? What has the King of Atlantis been doing up until now? Did Magneto pocket an under the sea relic and not tell Namor? With a skeleton crew operating the Danger Room, the scenario is down to the bare bones with Kelsey facing only 5 questions.

Will Quintin ever get over Dane not going to the Patrick Stewart panel? Looking at the issue, what do the morale quandaries of the X-Force mean for the future of the team? Is Jean really out? Is Colossus finally in? Is the Wolverine and Kid Omega’s lack of relationship growth a 200 IQ set up by Hickman, or did he just not read Jason Aaron’s Wolverine and the X-Men? And any theories of Jean not being exclusive to Scott are clearly confirmed. Finally, Kelsey and Dane go down quite the path before coming to a nail biting conclusion in 20 questions.

Is X-Men/Fantastic Four actually a book about X-Men and Fantastic Four, or is it a Doom book? At what point do we start blaming Wolverine for getting mind controlled and killing his friends? Better team recruitment montage: Hellions or Ocean’s 11? With an old school Claremont vibe to the Giant Size Nightcrawler, are these issues intentionally an homage to previous X eras? Excalibur is in search of the Starlight Citadel, but do you need a PhD in Britain Corps to understand what that means? New Mutants #6, X-Men #5, X-Force #6, Fallen Angels #6 This week the guys discuss...Kelsey as happy as Wolverine with a case of beer to hear that Moon Knight is the new Avengers Villain and which Marvel organization each of the guys would join if they had the chance. For a story about Beak and his family, New Mutants sure brings a lot of drama and gravitas. X-Men finally continues a previous story following a Child of the Vault and developing a ‘long-term’ plan. How far can Beast stray from his morality before he’s not really Beast? The discussion wraps as the group tries to figure out exactly what it was about Fallen Angels that didn’t impress. Kelsey and Dane band together as brothers, but will it be enough to overcome the Danger Room? Fantasy Score Update:
Dane has a sizable lead with one issue left. But Quintin and Kelsey are neck and neck for second and X-Men is potentially Dane’s weakest of the six issues.

Marauders #6, Excalibur #6 This week the guys discuss...who are these newly teased Children of the Atom? Does the future of X-Men in the MCU involve Patrick Stewart? Do you HAVE to read all of Dawn of X to understand? Hickman doesn’t think so. Then the team argues over whether or not we read a death scene and how they felt about the semi-climactic boat battle of Marauders and what that aftermath means for our team. Then, the Excalibur squad makes a final push to retake Otherworld. While all agree it may have been a little rushed, a story got wrapped up and some interesting elements for the future got added. With Marvel 20 questions will Dane and Kelsey shrink when the pressure is on, or grow to match the occasion?
Fantasy Score Update:
Kelsey ties things up with Quintin while Dane pulls further ahead. But with the end of Marauders and Excalibur, Dane has likely burnt his two biggest scorers (Kate and Betsy). Will the remaining weeks be enough Quintin and Kelsey to catch up? NOTE: Quintin is contesting the death of Kate, so those points are still up in the air.

Excalibur #5, Fallen Angels #5, X-Force #5, New Mutants #5 This week the guys discuss...Are we excited about the New Mutants trailer? What other comic movies are we looking forward to in 2020? Surprise, surprise, Apocalypse had less than altruistic goals, but you know...Rogue killed him, so there’s that. Fallen Angels has some new recruits, but where is this going? It’s a whole issue, but Wolverine only needed half to take care of the mercenaries we find out have been hired by the Man with the Peacock Tattoo. Everyone is sky high (or, space high as it were) on the return of the original New Mutants team. The guys rank all 6 X books so far in Dawn of X. 20 questions is anything but a lock as Dane and Kelsey go to war.
Fantasy Score Update:
Krakoa goes quiet and costs Kelsey big, while Q’s tried and true X-Men team pulled himself into second.
Dane - 52
Quintin - 47
Kelsey - 42

X-Men #4, Marauders #5 This week the guys discuss...Is ‘Incoming’ the Marvel toy catalog? What new character are we going to see in the new Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? What Marvel gifts were under our tree this year? The Autumn Council and their Captains show up to the economic summit looking good in some fine threads. But do these summit speeches really say the mutant agenda? How much X-Men history and continuity can Hickman ignore? Or is he? The Marauders deal with some internal conflict created by Sebastian 'Sabotage’ Shaw. How would an average human feel about the Marauders showing up and taking kids off to party island? What exactly is the relationship between Kate and Emma? Things briefly get out of Hand in the return of 20 questions.
Fantasy Score Update:
The pace slows down with 2 books, but the points continue to tighten as we close in on our unofficial issue six deadline.
Dane - 44
Kelsey - 42
Quintin - 39

Excalibur #4, Fallen Angels #4, X-Force #4, New Mutants #4, Marauders #4 This week the guys discuss...where they are on Dawn of X, what makes an event comic, what new X-comics are coming out, and some dream X-Men video games! How many different storylines can Excalibur hold? Is the main character of Fallen Angels...Apoth? Will X-Force have the largest impact on the X-Men world as a whole of all the books? What is the take away from this NEW New Mutants story? Marauders gets back to what makes it great (hint: It’s kickass, sassy Kate Pryde).
Fantasy Score Update:
5 books in one week means big points. We had several power plus scores, a big shake up and even the first scoring for a death! Everyone scored big this week and things are staying tight!
Dane - 39
Kelsey - 35
Quintin - 34

X-Force #3, New Mutants #3, Fallen Angels #3 This week the guys discuss...a little HoXPoX nostalgia, superhero fatigue, the new Hellions cover reveal, and X-Men Pokemon! How high can X-Force climb and is this the most natural of the new X books? New Mutants becomes “New Mutants.” Are these two separate books under one title? How long will they bounce back and forth and what other young X-Men will we get in the future? Is Apoth enough to drive Fallen Angels forward? Or is floating, legless, robot Skeletor the real hero? The Danger Room wraps things up with a new competition pitting Dane and Kelsey against each other pitching a new Dawn of X comic.
Fantasy Score Update:
This week wrapped up the Dawn of X 3 books. Q’s classic team strikes again, Kelsey holds stead and the two reach a tie with each other and BOTH close the gap on Dane after a week in which he only scored off Psylocke.
Dane - 28
Kelsey - 24
Quintin - 24

Fallen Angels #2, X-Force #2, New Mutants #2, X-Men #3, Marauders #3, Excalibur #3 This week the guys discuss...SIX ISSUES OF X-MEN, as well as who’s excited about the new Black Widow movie and what we’re thankful for this year in the world of Marvel. Who ARE these characters butterflies being groomed by Psylocke? What threat has control of Domino? Is Sunspot the next featured mutant? How do you feel about senior citizen women being the newest X-Men super villain? Will the politics of the Hellfire Trading Company be what tears the island of Krakoa apart? What’s the better part of Excalibur, Apocalypse or Captain Britain?
Fantasy Score Update:
With six issues, one for each Dawn of X book there has been a lot of points racking up. Q’s classic team appeared in a lot of comics, while Dane’s strategy of doubling down Psylocke/Betsy Braddock paid dividends, and Kelsey’s surprise first round pick of Krakoa continues to pay off.

Kelsey - 19

When will Rogue wake up? What is Apocalypse up to? What is Shogoin’ on? Where does Storm fit in with the Marauders? Who is going to fill in the rest of the Hellfire Trading Company? Will this weeks 20 question be over quick, or will Kelsey and Dane slow play it and drag on?

X-Men #2 & Fallen Angels #1 This week the guys discuss...the anniversary of Stan Lee’s death (and who is playing him in the inevitable biopic), what everyone is watching in their time off, especially with the new Disney plus, and Martin Scorsese’s cinema comments (STILL! How is this still a thing!?). Is X-Men’s family dynamic too light-hearted or just the right amount? What exactly is Apocalypse up to? Is Fallen Angels revenge dynamic too dark or just the right amount? Who is Psylocke now? Can Kelsey and Dane continue their hot as the sun win streak in 20 questions?

X-Force #1 & New Mutants #1 This week the guys discuss...bombs on set, the only thing the guys learned from high school science was how to make hulk babies, how many Spider-Men are enough Spider-Men, and an oddly in depth analysis of costumes (what a surprise, right Ben?) of the Giant Size X-Men #1 cover art. Did YOU know what Black Tom Cassidy’s power is (be honest!)? How did Hickman and the X-Team make the logistics and infrastructure of Krakoa so cool? How much fun is it seeing the New Mutants back together? But this episode of the podcast is GIANT sized as well, fitting twice the amount of comics into one episode. Finally, the guys introduce a new on-going game in the first ever X-Men Fantasy Draft! Which team will win Dawn of X?

Excalibur #1 This week the guys discuss...why variant covers aren’t for them, what’s best alternate marvel universe, and...Lucille Bluth as Morgan Le Fey? Any guesses on how Apocalypse pronounces his new name? Are these Dawn of X Covers deceiving us? What does Remender’s Uncanny X-Force have to do with the new Excalibur? How is Betsy going to change, not only in a new (old) body, but taking on a new mantle? What’s in a name? Do Dane and Kelsey have the magic to keep their 20 questions win streak going? Tally Ho!

Marauders #1 This week the guys discuss...sneaky out on their families late at night to watch Marvel movies, Marvel TV, and where to get the best BBQ ribs. Want to know how that is relevant to an X-Men podcast? Well, you know where the listen button is located. How did Kitty break her nose and how does it play into the future of the Marauders? Which Pyro is that on the cover, and do we like him on the Marauders? What can you get on the island (hint: it isn’t potato chips)? Which is more savage, phasing a gun into someone’s leg or shooting them with ‘non-lethal’ rounds? After a fun new game, the group gets back to the classic 20 questions. Also, if you make it all the way to the end, Kelsey wanted to make sure you saw this: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/97/Crimson_Dynamo_Armor_MK_I.jpg

X-Men #1 This week the guys discuss...Feige taking the reins at Marvel, what hooks you into a new comic, and the lightheartedness of a new era of X-Men. This is it, the Dawn of X. Are there incoming political consequences to the X-Men running into other countries and destroying bases? Do we like the comic relief of the Summers family home? How far up the ranks of classic X-Men villains can Orchis rise? And...what’s going on with one of the X-Men’s oldest love triangles? Also, Dane and Kelsey do battle in a classic childhood battle of which hero has better stats in a new game called 'Krakoa Card Battles.' It’s a jumbo issue, so we gave you a jumbo episode!

Powers of X #6. This week the guys discuss...if the MCU is cinema, Hungarian police dramas that think the X-Men animated series stole their theme song, and what they thought of HOXPOX. With Hickman's run ending it is a time to reflect what exactly this grand scheme accomplished and where the X-Men go from here. We couldn't have had more fun bringing this podcast dream to life and we really appreciate all of you that have supported us and joined us for the ride. House of X #6. This week the guys discuss...how Tom Holland danced Marvel and Sony back together, what not to wear X-Men edition, and what this issues means for the X-Men moving into Dawn of X. Is this who the X-Men are now? Do we like that? Can you even call Xavier a good guy anymore? The dream is dead, but is this a new dream? When will the X-Men wake up? Are they even asleep? And Dane and Kelsey aren't even concerned with the spoiler, they crushed the danger room this week!
