Carol, Tricia and Kelly are talking about body shaming, body image and creating healthy thoughts and habits to become a healthier person.
Think of the best person you know – you know, the one who just radiates sunshine – the glass half full person in your life… now, think about what you know about their life. All good circumstances? Easy peasy? Or have they been through some tough stuff?
This week on Girl Talk Podcast, Carol, Tricia and I are talking about why bad things happen to good people – and what we consider bad…and good.. and how God can use it all to shape us into the people He wants us to be!
This season of Girl Talk Podcast is brought to you by our friends at Compassion International – releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ Name!
This episode of Girl Talk podcast is made possible by Compassion International - we couldn't do it without 'em!
Who is the Holy Spirit? Why does He seem so mysterious to us?
Carol, Tricia and Kelly are talking about the Holy Spirit, His characteristics and what He means to the Christian faith!
Think about it:
Do you 'walk in the Spirit'?
How do you know when the Holy Spirit is speaking to you?
What is the Holy Spirit's 'job'?
Scripture to meditate on:
Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you." - John 16:7-15**
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. - 2 Corinthians 3:17-18**
In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. - Ephesians 1:11-14**
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. - Romans 8:26-27**
And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and you shall be my people, and I will be your God. - Ezekiel 36:26-28**

We'll talk about:
What do you feel like is at the heart of imposter syndrome?
What does God say about it?
How can you avoid it?
Remember:
There is a fine line between pride and deep insecurity in dealing with imposter syndrome.
Imposter syndrome battles between the desire to be known and the fear of being known.

"You cannot love a person beyond the label you assign to them. That’s why Jesus tells us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. That’s why Jesus tells us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.” Dr. Derwin Gray
What Girl Talk Podcast is talking about in this episode:
How do we love like Jesus?
Jesus loves people based on who they are, not who they will become
Truth to remember:
God is on the move! All around the world, whether you're noticing it or not, He's moving in big ways to bring others to His saving grace.

"Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?" - Romans 2:4
Have you noticed a move of God in culture?
What is the work of the Holy Spirit??
How can you start a conversation about faith with friends and family?
No one is ever too far gone to be saved by the grace of Jesus.
"When we stopped valuing life, we stopped valuing one another."Carol Davis
It's time. 2024 means an election year, which also means a lot of name calling, frustrated social media posts and shutting out everyone with an opinion other than your own...right? Wrong. Jesus calls you to be different. He calls us to be kind and He calls us to listen. He calls us to lead others to Him!
So, let's be friends - even when we disagree.
Ask Yourself:
· How do you disagree and continue a relationship?
· Should you voice your concerns or just keep quiet?
· What is the source of your political decisions?
· What are the most important things to you?
Key Points:
It’s important to have relationships and conversations with people who you don’t always agree with.
We don’t have to agree on anything, but we should be kind.
Be curious and ask questions without being demeaning.
Your “truth” isn’t necessarily truth.
Pray for wisdom and discernment.
Go to the Bible.

Forgiveness isn't easy to do, especially when the other person isn't sorry. But knowing Jesus says you must forgive - no strings attached. Carol, Tricia and Kelly talk about forgiveness on this episode of Girl Talk Podcast.
While you can't control your feelings, you can control what takes up residence in your thought life. When you allow thoughts of unforgiveness to take up space in your mind, it will turn into bitterness and will only hurt your own heart!
How to begin the process of forgiveness:
Pray about it. A lot.
Seek outside counsel through a Christian counselor or someone who can speak God's truth into your life in a loving way.
Pray for the other person's heart and wellbeing.
Be obedient to God even when your feelings are leading you away from forgiveness.
Remember forgiveness is a process and you are human. Give it to God daily!
"Forgiveness is not you deciding when their punishment is over." - Carol Davis
Do you feel like your best just isn't good enough? As a woman, you're probably wearing a lot of hats. You're juggling all the plates that you have to fill with food and then wash...over and over. No matter what you do or how hard you try, though, you feel like it's just not good enough. It's time to invite God into your journey.
Ask yourself:
How will you know you are good enough?
Who are you trying to please?
Go Deeper:
Be honest with your loved ones about how you're feeling.
Check your expectations of yourself and others.

WHAT VERSES GIVE YOU ENCOURAGEMENT DURING TOUGH DECISIONS?
HOW HAVE YOU SEEN GOD WORK THROUGH A WRONG DECISION??

We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19
You are loved far more than you could ever imagine by the very God who created you and knows every single thing you have ever said and done. What would happen if you actually believed that and lived out that love each and every day? God is not going to love you any more or any less for the things you do or don't do. You can truly rest in the love you have already received, because Jesus made that possible!
Questions to think about:
What is your favorite Bible verse about God's love for you?
Is there a gap between what you say you believe and what you actually live out?
What would change in your life if you lived FROM love instead of FOR love?
